Still have to pinch myself that i've been rooting for LSU every game thus far. Love u Joe, geaux tigers !

Same here. With Joe there and no Les Miles I've found it easier to handle though.

"The only real time you have to digest it is after the season when you aren’t focusing on the game plan or watching film on another team," Burrow said. "There is no time to take a step back. You have to press on and focus on the next week."

That there is a solid and sound approach. Will forever be a fan of this dude. Good on you, Jeaux Burreaux!

Just iron sharpening iron, Gumtape. That was hilarious and a little frightening when I watched live. Glad he was fine.

Glad to see so many Buckeye fans cheering on Joe - I know I was one of them as well Saturday afternoon.

When he was struggling a bit in the third quarter (against a pretty good Auburn D-line, mind you) Land Grant Holy Land took a gigantic shit on him on Twitter. Regardless, I'm glad to see what I assume to be the vast majority of OSU fans cheering him on.

Auburn is a very good defense and Joe's offensive line can't pass block and his O-coordinator is Tim Beck-esque and his WRs drop balls a lot. Joe could've played better in the 3rd Q but it's not like it's been all on him being bad.  He's the main reason their 3-0 and beat 2 Top 10 teams.

You win with people.

And so forth...

HS

They act like he should be able to go in there and singlehandedly turn that team around despite o-line and receiver problems.

HS
swainpm's picture

Don't forget he is on a team with a new OC, and is still learning the guys system but has had even less rime than everyone else to do so. The LSU fans I know are quite happy and quite optimistic bc the line has 2 freshman who have time to get better and gel before Bama. I dont think the OL will get that good before Bama but I am just the messenger.

HS

Hopefully Joe can keep LSU rolling.

HS
BurningRiverBuckeye's picture

Glad he's having the success he is having. He deserves. He couldn't have handled this situation better. Go win the SEC Joe.

HS
ZMBucks's picture

I would hope all Buckeye fans are rooting for Joe. Like I said in the forums, he did nothing wrong, it was just bad timing. He chose the path that gave him the best chance to see the field, and we should all hope he succeeds. I will be watching their games this season to cheer him on, and will root for him all season. Good luck Joe.

HS

This day an age there are going to be transfers/players leaving from big time programs every year. There is a right way and wrong way to handle it from both a player and coach perspective. Joe Burrow should be a blueprint for players on how to handle it perfectly.

HS
Extramedium's picture

I'll be rooting for him until they run into OSU in the playoffs.

HS
TigerSweat's picture

That would be cool but I don't see LSU making it. They'll get railed by Bama and lose another one along the way.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice for LSU and OSU to play the Nat'l Championship game? I can see that happening.

HS
joebuckeye5's picture

I wish it could happen, but LSU's schedule is absolutely brutal. If Burrow even gets them to the playoffs with that schedule it would be nothing short of amazing. With that said, it does seem his presence there has the whole team playing with a bit of a swagger again. LSU has always had the talent it's simply been QB play and coaching holding them back. At least with Joe it seems they have one of those areas figured out. Beat Bama!

HS
Extramedium's picture

The biggest obstacle will be beating Bama and then the playoff committee still putting Bama in instead of LSU because of how amazingly they lost.

HS
TigerSweat's picture

Yep. The committee obviously has the criteria "Bama is in" and then they just have to figure out how to spin it (with ESPN's help) so the public doesn't catch on.

You are aware, though, that part of the reason Alabama often gets ranked and treated as the #1 team is because they are often the best team, right?

It brings me no joy to say it, but it is a reality people seem determined to deny.

HS
IGotAWoody's picture

Sad but true. Doesn't mean we have to like it, tho!

Hell, just about every great player and coach they've ever had was from Ohio. Ironically, they still have the blind audacity to shit all over Ohioans every chance they get.

Here's my dream. Burrow and the Tigers run the table in the SEC. Iowa wins the B1G west. We stomp Iowa in the B1G Championship game. (redemption for last year) We beat Clemson in the semi-final. (another redemption game, 2x over) Then we beat LSU. (no offense to Burrow, but it's also another redemption game)  Then the dream is complete.

Our Honor Defend we will Fight to the end for O-HI-O!

HS
Extramedium's picture

I'd love to agree but after all the media fawning over them and Tua, I'd still rather stomp Bama.

HS
LeftCoastBuckeye's picture

There is that, but the shit-storm that would result from Alabama getting left out of the playoffs would be pretty glorious.

My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.   - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)

He is a great young man and a great athlete. I hope he continues to succeed. Schedule is brutal and he needs O line and WR help. He won't lead them to the playoffs. While I will cheer for him / them... My interest is about 3% of what I have for our QB and team.

If someone told me after the 2006 and 2007 seasons that In the near future I would be celebrating (and defending) Urban Meyer, and cheering for victories by LSU, I would have told them that those are 2 predictions that are unlikely to come true.

I was on the sideline before the OSU-TCU game watching the big video boards like all the other OSU fans.  It was great to see the fans cheering every time they showed a close-up of Joe Burrow.  OSU fans show up at big games ... and they support their own (even when they transfer under understandable circumstances).  Go Bucks!

HS

So happy for Joe/Jeaux, and more than okay with 11W following his work.  The guy gave us 4 years and is an OSU alum.  We follow them into the NFL, CFL, and have followed previous grad transfers.

Also, might be a long shot, but a bowl matchup between Haskins and Burrow would be a lot of fun to see.
