Good for him! Not my favorite team, but it's a paycheck for Hankins.

Always really liked him. Continue that career and keep getting paid. Life after football will be there waiting. Enjoy the league! Big Hank!

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

Don't understand the Colts letting him and Simon go...Simon was a beast, color me confused.

Congrats Big Hank....

The colts are not very good. Not even good enough for me to capitalize their name.

Hankins was due $8M and they cut him the day before $4.5M of that was guaranteed.... won't see anything close to that I would imagine with this deal with the Raiders..

Same for Simon... $$$$$$

It's brutal at times but still like it much more than baseball or basketball where you can get stuck with dead money...

Better for the team and thus, by proxy, the fans, but a whole lot worse for the players.

The NFL is the only major U.S. pro sports league where talent level and skill are generally secondary considerations when it comes to cutting players.

Works both ways... look at Chris Davis on the Orioles. Terrible contract that hurts his team and the other players on the team and prevents kids from the farm system from coming up because they can't not play him. They owe him $21M per year for 4 more years and he is AWFUL. He's batting .174 with 178 Ks... If that was the NFL you just get rid of him and everyone around him is better for it...

Good luck and best wishes, Johnathan!

Yeah, that should make up for Chucky letting Mack go....

He has now played past the historical average for an NFL player.

How long do they have to play to get the pension?

Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!

10 years and it’s deferred until age 65

Not followed this pension policy but 10 years?  That’s a long career for the NFL and can be downright brutal on these guys’ bodies. What percentage of guys actually play 10 years?  20% or less?  I understand tenure but they should have a tiered plan.

No kidding and cash is always good, but what 10 year player really needs a pension when compared to all the others?

Happy for him and his wife considering the Colts screwed him with the NFL non-guaranteed money contract.
