This is just one dividend of improved play in the passing game. It's amazing how well we were recruiting even before the passing game got a facelift.

Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

I'm ready for a few Booms myself. It seems like it's been really quiet for far too long.

2019 take a Garrett and 2020 take a Jarrett.   Staff going after some very high quality recruits.  Wandale Robinson from Kentucky reminds of Ryan Timmons.  His high school stats are impressive

Could it be our run first QB position in the past has kept us from getting top passing or top WR recruits?

Ive said it once, I'll say it again, Go Deep Young Man, Go Deep.  Chicks dig the long ball. So do recruits.

You win with people.

This offensive machine is humming like no other right now and has got to be highly attractive to top recruits. That and the quality of the quarterback recruits we have committed.

If we are strongly undefeated entering Happy Valley. Go into halftime with a comfortable lead. Have Mr. Baldwin throw 3 second half touchdowns. We could pick and choose who we will accept. The line will be long.

Somebody must have missed the fact that the Buckeyes just had the QB lead the team in rushing again ,we're screwed, time to go back to the drawing board and get this thing fixed.

Just glad to see a new article here.

As dynamic as a QB, J T Barrett was, he was limited as a throwing QB.  I still contend, OSU would not have won the National Championship with him at the helm. With the threat of Cardale to stretch to defense, vertically, look at what Ezekial did in the  Big TEN championship game, and against Alabama and Oregon.  Haskins can do that and OSU is a much better offense, with a pure throwing QB, while JT was wonderful, he was limited.

Yet Urban couldn’t give Haskins meaningful minutes last year. Who’s decision was it to give Tate Martell meaningful minutes this year? Look at Tate’s improvement from game one to game two. Buckeye Nation got a little less nervous after the kids performance against Rutgers.

Listen I loved J.T. for all the same reasons that have been noted on this site. And Urban Meyer is the greatest thing that has happened to the Ohio State Buckeyes in my lifetime. I just hope he continues what is going on on the field this year i.e. getting the backups in the game for meaningful snaps.

"A Man's Got to Know his Limitations".

Not 'him'.   Not 'they'.

Each of us, first ought to know our own limitations.

Then...

Then, we can start to build a team.

I thought for the last 3 years, we had horrible receivers---we didn't ----just a very sub-par passing QB.  Jumping on the last comment, OSU wins a second title in 2015 if JT Barrett was not on the roster or healthy---him splitting with Cardale and hovering over Cardale ruined the season.  Cardale never LOST a game as a OSU starter--think about that.  The only loss that year, JT vs. MSU.  JT was great against inferior opponents and wide open receivers and terrible against great teams.  OSU was on a direct course for a loss to U of M last year until JT got hurt/Haskins took over and a healthy Haskins vs. Wisconsin in the B1G Ten title game could have produced the 45-7 beating that may have got OSU into the playoff.  JT was a anchor around the neck of 2 possible championship teams.

What is very clear is that when you take Urban Meyer out of the play calling equation we suddenly see a team able to take advantage of the talent it actually has in the receiver group. When I see the results we are getting now, and with the same guys we had last year, I disgust me to know we had a QB on the bench, likely 2, that could have facilitated these same results last season. Yet instead I had to watch a “QB up the middle” offense for the 5th year in a row. Meyers ego has held this team back, that is very apparent at this point. Day has made this team a monster on offense.

Theire is only one truth...

it's interesting and relevant to note that, when my friend has a log in his eye, i cannot see it if i have a speck in my eye.

but...after i first remove the speck in my eye... 'it' is 'very clear' i can 'see'.

or so it is said....   ;-{)}

I still think there is something most of you are glossing over. Zach Smith was not a good coach. Brian Hartline seems to be the x-factor to me. These wideouts did not use proper technique under ZS..Watch a Parris Campbell catch a ball this year vs. last year. Hands out and not letting it get to the body. His silly drops seem to have vanished. To me thats the big difference outside of the fact Dwayne Haskins places almost every ball exactly where it should be.

Gotta love it.

Oh good. I was looking for a thread where people tell me about how JT is terrible and all of the woes of osu’s Past fall on his shoulders.

just not enough threads telling me this.

LoL... some things it seems...

"we can never get enough of"....

Other things...

we always keep getting way too much of....

IF ONLY...

we would set up a 'fair'... trade.

Then everybody would have the same...

and Nobody would 'be happy' with 'the level'.   LoL

With Haskins at the helm...we should get away from the 5'9" h-backs and find ourselves some 6' 3"+ stretch the field WRs.  #YouCantGuardMike

hmmm....

we "should get away" from 'official' measurements first, so we could 'find ourselves' our very own 'stretch' ruler...?

Not a fan of short receivers with teams loading up on taller corners these days. This young man might be fast as lightning but he will in trouble unless he is like wide open no jump balls and other problems. Maybe they want him as a return man? I wonder if he is a true 5/9 they lie about those things you know.
