But he did beat Missouri, guys!
Life comes at you fast tommy.
Doubt they put Maryland on their schedule in the near future.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
He looks like a total idiot with that outfit on. Disrespectful to people who actually do that for a living
YOU SIT THERE AND YOU THUMP YOUR BIBLE AND YOU SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND IT DIDN'T GET YOU ANYWHERE!!! TALK ABOUT YOUR PSALMS TALK ABOUT JOHN 3:16.... AUSTIN 3:16 SAYS I JUST WHIPPED YOUR ASS!!!!!
Well said OB - he's not making any friends.
Are we really getting mad at the guy because he wore a construction outfit and looked stupid? We’re better than this...literally.
"Well, thats just like, your opinion, man." -The Dude
Yes Mr. High and Mighty
He may look like an idiot in that outfit but I fail to see how that is disrespectful to anyone! Did you forget the sarcasm font?
Urban Meyer, undefeated (7-0) VS ttun | Ryan Day, undefeated (2-0) vs ttun
*As always, In (Urban) Ryan Day I Trust! There is a plan, even if we cannot see it right now!

It is as bad of a choice for a photo op as Mike Duckasis with his head out a turret and his name on tape to show he isn't a communist.
Fans are stupid. Over the last 8 years Texas is 53-48 averaging about 6 loses per year. You have to give a coach time to get his system and players in the program before you start making these types of decisions. With that said losing to to Maryland... again... that's not a good start.
"Because I couldn't go for three."
That's right. Michigan fans tell me that it takes at least 5 full years before you should expect to see any improvement from a new HC
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Actually, I'm beginning to think when they say Harbaugh must be given time to get his own players in place, they mean he must father them, raise them from infant hood and when they reach 18, they will play for TTUN. Then Harbaugh will have his own players.
Urban Meyer took a 6-7 team to 12-0 in his first year. Jim Tressel went 14-0 and a NC in his second year.
"Give the coach time" applies to Rutgers, but not Texas.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Rosters were more talented for Ohio St both times. Cooper recruited well. Tressel had recruits. What if Tom had Braxton Miller? Look at what he was able to do at Houston. If Tim Beck was the OC in 2014 we don't win a championship.
As the Urb says: "You get one maybe two years to turn a program around." Yo, Tommy, see you at The Landing Strip after the game. Make it rain, brother.
I'll drink to that!
right and maybe a little rain with that drink?!? Here's one for the ladies...

All I know is, Tom Herman helped lead a team with a first time starting and red shirt freshman qb to an 11-1 season. Then with JT injured took another qb with. no real experience and defeated Wisconsin 59-0, took down Alabama in one of the greatest post season games in Ohio State history, and defeated Oregon for the national championship.
The very next year he was gone and Ohio St was more talented and underperformed on offense. At the same time he beat Oklahoma in his first game with a group of 5 team.
Give. Him. Time.
I'm trying to follow the logic. He took good guys and immediately made them better at OSU. He took ok guys and immediately made them better at Houston. But now he needs time at a school with practically unlimited funds, ridiculous HS talent and a powerhouse track record?
If Tommy wants to be a big boy he needs to put up or shut up. If I was a TX fan I'd be ticked, too.
Pain of Discipline
Pain of Regret
Take Your Pick
To Tom's credit, I don't know how many ok guys there were at Texas.
The current roster at Texas is not nearly as talented as it was at OSU (obviously). Houston had a few game changing players including Ed Oliver who wrecked Oklahoma's offensive line as a freshman.
Remember Nick Saban was 6-6 his first year at Alabama and lost to UL Monroe. You have to give Tom the rest of this year and reserve judgment until next year.
UT has had no talent at QB for a long time now. Ehlinger is not the answer, they will be better next year. Lost too much of the talent that was there last year to the League - and that is a big deal when there wasn't much there to start with. Team is loaded at WR and DB but hurting on the OL and RB. Tom had better get some OL in his current class or he may not make it to year 4 at UT (whose fan base is possibly worse than tOSU from an expectations standpoint). He has 2 young QBs from 2018, one of whom better be good.
So basically he was really good when he was doing what Urban told him to do. Then he did really well when he did what Urban taught him to do. Then he got cocky and started doing things his own way because he thought he knew better and now he sucks. Mensa my fuckin ass.
Maybe. But by that logic why was Tim Beck not very good by doing what Urban told him to do?
Some of these programs have issues deeper than a new coach. They kept Mack Brown around for 100 years, they can be patient with Herman for five.
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
Fuck Tom Herman...Go Coach Meyer...Go Bucks...
And fire Drake.
Then, Ohio State confirmed that he was the other staffer with Smith at a South Florida strip club in 2014.
Was it Ohio State that confirmed it or was it Zach Smith who confirmed it?
I thought I read it was Ohio State that confirmed it.
Good coordinator, average head coach. It is what it is, him and Beck deserve each other.
First, he was dragged into the Zach Smith saga at Ohio State
Dragged into it? Seems to me he willingly inserted himself into this saga. I'll grant you that perhaps he wasn't really the source of the McMurphy article. But no one twisted his arm for that $10,000 "loan". He didn't get dragged into anything. He just didn't think his name would come up. Bet he wishes he had a do-over with this one. And Maryland.
Can’t be a coincidence that he has been chummy with McMurphy and that happens to be who CS has been working with, too.
He wasn’t the “source.” Courtney was always the “source.” But I’d bet just about anything Tom Herman was the one who put the two in contact. He tried to take down Ohio State when he should have been worried about Texas.
Hope he continues to fail miserably in Austin.
Righto Brutus; I bet he was dragged into the strip joints in Miami too.....
The only hard day was yesterday
No, thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Varys: I've always hated the bells. They ring for horror, a dead king, a city under siege.
Tyrion: A wedding.
Fact is since UT won the Natty over Southern Cal they've been in a downward spiral. They actually have kind of followed Vince Young right down the crapper. If they give him time, he might get them back to relevance at some point.
That isn’t exactly true. VY was 2005. In 2008 they went 12-1 and beat us in a BCS bowl. In 2009 they were the team that lost the BCS championship to Saban.
After that . . . then crapper more or less. But back to back top 5 seasons is legit.
The dude made his bed, he can sleep in it.
You don't know what you have until it's gone .... for example, toilet paper.
H Town Takeover A-Town Takedown!
Oh Texas Tom!!!
The more you act like a lady the more likely he’ll act like a gentleman.
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” - Mark Twain
Shutting up and winning some games is good advice
A man got to have a code...
I lost respect for this guy when he went to Alabama after the '2014 playoffs and met with Saban and Kirby Smart to go over how Ohio State attacked their defense in the semi's. What type of loyalty does that show to the guy who gave him his big break in coaching as well as the players who were coming in back in 2015 who may have had a rematch with Alabama. Then to top it off he starts the whole Brett McMurphy story. A&M is dominating Texas recruiting with Jimbo so he can expect another 2 years before Texas fires him.
I feel bad for Herman
The caption for the header pic could be "Tom Herman blows".....bubbles and games...
Que the Chappelle meme with:
"Y'all got any of that fairy dust?
There's been a slow, steady decline in UT football since most Texas high schools have adopted pass-first, spread type offenses. In essence, their recruiting base of big, power run blocking offensive linemen has been marginalized. In essence, UT is playing the same game as the Texas Techs of the world and have lost their identity. Will be interesting to see if Herman can hold it together, but yeh, karma's not on his side right now.
I think it’s part Kharma and while they have some real good players, they are not deep with talent.
Because we keep taking them.
GO BUCKS !!!
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
Texas talent not being very deep I wouldn't go there. Good thing Ohio has one true major player going for high school talent in Ohio. Sure Texas is big but look at how many big time schools that grab for the same talent. Throw Ohio State in there too along with Oklahoma and even Oklahoma St. to mention a couple.
Love the bravado from some here.
Yeah, he may not be Mensa-ing it up lately, but let's not look past the fact Herman was near walking on water around here 3 1/2 years ago.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...

Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you will know tomorrow."
-Agent K in Men in Black.
Sorry it was on AMC last night .
Add to that 3and a half years ago we thought Tom Herman would be the next head football coach at The Ohio State University. Imagine what we will know tomorrow.
Yeah, like people are going to admit on the interwebz that they put a cart way before the horse in regards to a players/coaches career.......having a hot take means never having to admit you were full of shit 2 years later......
Good point Hove but, on the other hand, all those accolades were pre SmithGate.
"Most Noahs have two of everything, he's got four tonight" - Gus Johnson on Noah Brown's 4 TD catches against Oklahoma.
Herman had a meteoric rise. It's possible he's not quite ready for a job like Texas.
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Agree, Tom Herman would have been best served to stay at Houston 2 more years and mature some more
Doubtful - he showed his true dick colors when he chose to go looking for a new job while in the middle of a national championship run at the greatest university in the country. Total lack of respect for those who signed his checks and what was important to them.
I have zero respect for him. Karma's a bitch, buddy.
Bucks Fan since 1970
The only thing that's new in the world is the history that we have forgotten.
I agree, lots of hypocrisy around here, Hove. Herman, though, looks like he was probably the guy who brought Zach Smith's life to the media's attention. If that's the case, and he looks pretty good for it, then he deserves any and all vitriol he gets from this community. Because of Tom Herman's and his wife's petty vindictiveness, Ohio State's reputation has been tremendously damaged, lots of lives were turned upside-down, and the program has been put at an unfair disadvantage.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
If you don’t want Twitter to hurt your feelings, don’t have one of the 5 most desirable jobs in college football and lose to Maryland in consecutive years. Thin skin.
For Texas Tom, these are the first few steps on a 100 mile penance march.
