Anyone else surprised Dobbins only has 2 TDs in the last 6 games? I know once you put each game in context it’s easier to understand, but just looking at that stat it’s kind of surprising.
Here’s to Dobbins and Weber scoring 8 combined TDs against Rutgers
It is, but I have to think that both will get more goal line chances this year. One advantage of Barrett was the extra blocker at the goal line and the QB run to get it in when in need. Very big advantage. With Haskins, probably, not running it in himself as much, that should give more goal line carries to the RBs.
I had forgotten that these guys only managed 57 yards against USC. I suspect we will not see teams stack the box against us again any time soon.
Fields of Dreams
JT and Paris "rushed" for more yards on more carries. Total rushing was 150+
Particularly in the second half of that game it felt like Barrett rushed quite a bit and there were a number of three and outs. It was most likely they trusted the defense and the offense was being conservative but the second half of that game was fairly bland in terms of play calling.
If I remember right, seemed like they did not convert on a third down in the second half, or at least it felt that way. May have just been the fourth quarter but they got stopped on short yardage quite a bit. To USCs credit.
We played Tressel-ball because we were up 3 scores and our D was kicking Trojan ass.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Who the hell would downvote this? Simple statement of fact! UGH!

Dobbins does not seem to have the same breakaway ability, top end speed and the ability to make people miss or run through them to get the long runs. Weber right now seems to be a threat to break one every time he touches the ball, that is the difference I see. The only thing I can think about the USC game is they were keyed to stop our RB's and let the QB have his yards. JT did not really have the top end speed to scare people into thinking he could go the distance, USC D coaches were smart in that respect especially with JT coming off of knee surgery..
Replace Dobbins with Weber (and vice versa) and this is a copy/paste from this time last year.
No, Weber always had the higher top speed. The main (only) gripe about Dobbins is that he’d get caught from behind at the end of long runs while Weber seemed to keep accelerating to the end zone.
I still think Dobbins is a shiftier runner.. he just didn’t get to break any like Weber did on Saturday. But he still had a respectable day, 4.9 YPC and 75 yards is nothing to feel bad about.
So does UFM suspension preclude him from the media these next 2 weeks?
I went back and watched Ryan Day's pressers after the game and last week before game; very impressive. He'll be gone soon, unless we name him heir apparent. Maybe let him go, get seasoned and lure back when UFM steps dow? I like him a lot.
You win with people.
Day, Is just got the It Factor. This guy seems like he is the future of College Football, along with a lot of other young talented coaches. Meyer will have to yield some of his control over this offense, if not all to Day when he gets back. What’s best for those Young Athletes. Day and Grinch need to take over this team.
Those guys are really the future of the Buckeyes. The sooner OSU realizes that the Sooner OSU Starts Ballin for real. I’m not just talking this year.
Don't forget Hartlne. Not a large sample size but having a NFL player with Buckeye roots and a great personality has credibility. Hopefully he can "teach" too.
Yeah I don’t how I forgot about Hart!. Another young Ethusiastic, players, Coach type of guy, that looks to me like the players respect.
Pretty sure they will all control the team just like they always have. This season we happen to have a much different toolbox to work with that will play to Day and Wilson’s strengths.
No one has impressed me more than Weber. When he first came in he seemed like a slow Carlos Hyde. Now he seems just a notch below Zeke, and I mean that as a compliment. He has gotten so much faster and leaner. He’s a great back.
Weber shocked me in the Michigan State game with how fast he was. I really thought he was going to be a Brandon Saine type of power back, but after that game, and since, I think he has the potential to be a complete back that has a very successful NFL career. His burst and vision just keep getting better.
I laugh about how Jimmy Boy thinks he almost had Weber too. It was this close...(insert gif of post game "it wasnt a first down speech")
Gotta love it.
Mike Weber is BACK!
It's as if he told the coaches: I want MY job back!
