Woah!! I just learned that F_ichigan has lost 17 straight games to AP top 25 teams! 9 wins and 9 losses in last 18 games! I love stats!

Sounds like a great time to check out the redesigned mgoblog for some sweet wolverine meltdown tears.

Didn’t think it was possible but the site is even more confusing to navigate through now. I finally found some tears within the “Snowflakes” sections.

Day knows his job is to keep Urban's ship rolling. No power struggle Monday. Good start to the season. The defensive issues are easily fixed. Hope to see improvement next week.

No power struggle? No wife swapping or aliens landing either.

Also, TTUN looks like their offense is still not very good and PSU does not look as tough now either. Great day for the Buckeyes!

Their offense didn't score a touchdown until 2:18 left in the 4th quarter.

Love it.

As much as I enjoyed everyone talking up how tough the big ten East is this year, I enjoyed watching UM lose and PSU struggle even more.

Utmost respect for the coaching staff, especially the class and composure that Day showed in that position. Way to win as a team, Buckeyes!

I didn't understand all the love Shea Patterson was getting from the beginning. even from writers on this site.  He's not that good and never was.

Great start to the season on Offense, a little work to do on The back 7 of the Defense.

Next week will be the Buckeye's 900th win. Sorry Urban.

Texas should be 897 ~ Another 10 years like the previous ten and Ohio State will close the ttun gap exponentially.

Wow. Going to be a lot of shuffling this year. Seems a good bet that Bama will have 7 more wins than Texas this season based on what I saw yesterday.

HS

TTUN really should have to remove all those wins against High Schools and Part-time Colleges they beat up on before the automobile was invented.

Great data.

LOL.  And that wanna-be gives me trouble for saying PSU is a middle of the pack B10 team?

I know I'm going to come off as a homer, so be it, but my God if tOSU almost loses to App State. . . AT HOME. . . do you still think the talking heads would be gushing over Haskins the way these turds were gushing over McSwirley?  Whatever media, whatever.

GO BUCKS!!!

HS
Thedrw's picture

Yep. I don't remember which play, but Btn announcer yelled "THAT'S A HEISMAN THROW!" after one of PSU's plays yesterday. My wife and gave each other the wtf? look.

HS

Maybe a bit of hyperbole but that throw for the score to tie App. State at the end was great. He fired it to a perfect spot while getting drilled. I think the guy is a bit over-hyped but he is a good QB. The corners have to be on their game or McSoreley will torch you with the deep ball.

App. State was in that game on the play of their corners not on McSoreley being over-hyped (which everyone is at this point.)

I don’t want to find out. No win situation with scheduling AppSt.  I enjoyed watching TTUN and Texas go down and watch some Big East teams struggle with their first week opponents but I will not gloat over them. College football is the most unpredictable sport I’ve ever seen. Just look at 2014 turnaround by our Buckeyes. I’m definitely not going to write off any team after the first week of play. I’m going to worry about Rutgers and getting our defense issues corrected, and getting Mr Fuller healthy again. We have a chance to watch some film, get coach back with his team and coaches for a week, and a chance to go 2-0 Go Bucks

Amen. I hope they don't rush Fuller back: don't want hamstring issues to linger or reoccur.

Lets see if there is an improvement from week 1.

Why did their running back make the defense look like it was in slow motion? Sheffield is the 60 yd big 10 champ and the other backs should be as fast as most RBs. We looked slooow.

ditto! Thinking of Marshon Lattimore? He lost 2 years of what could have been put him as GOAT of Buckeye corners. I could include Johnny Dixon on this group as well. I expect a lot of deep balls for Johnny D this year. With Haskins throwing to him. Look out.

I will be holding my breath with Jordan now as I did with Lattimore. Ham string injuries need rest. Hard to do during the season. Ask Mike Weber.

Go Bucks!!

You are clueless about our DB’s. It’s embarassing beyond words.

I’ll be in Ohio Stadium again. Where will you be watching the game little man? Watching the game in your playhouse?

HS

Dan, enjoyed your article and accents on how Day, Mariotti, & staff managed the delays and first game jitters.

The biggest take-away for me was the consistent performance of the offensive players as Day kept them "playing fast."  Only 1 false start [Prince], IIRC.  The mechanics/coordination of the offensive play calling process was very smooth - the coaches gave Haskins plenty of time for his pre-snap reads and team lineup.

Should also point out oregon st D did little to try and pressure Haskins.  THAT will 'change' and soon, IMO.

As for our D, the DL was a tsunami early... and thereafter... our DB speed got exposed ... and our LB coverage didn't appear to account for big gaps created by our DL bull rushing.

Very pleased with how smoothly the O went at a fast pace.

HS
Frimmel's picture

I think it was mostly inexperience. The back seven just didn't know where they were supposed to be. I think they were also a little stuck in practice speed. If we see the same problems next week we should start worrying.
