This just solidified my favorite team as “Not the Texans” after being a fan for 15 years. Screw you McNair.
We would love to have you as a Green Bay Packer fan.
Alright Mr. Dorsey, if the shoe fits....go sign this guy to work the slot so Landry and Gordon stay on the outside.
Braxton in Cleveland would be amazing, blessing in disguise.
No such thing as a bad win
Yes! I would love to see more Buckeyes in Cleveland.
BM is a very good player; multi-dimensional.
He’s not a great player, but in my opinion someone with needs of a skill player like BM will pick him up.
if the NFL doesn’t work out there’s always that new league starting up—— the AAL I think it’s called. I still think BM is better than that though and will remain in the NFL.
He can go to New England and Brady will make him a star
I was calling for the Patriots to draft him. Welker, Amendola, Miller.
Blessing for whom? I'd like the guy to enjoy the rest of his time in the NFL.
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
One can only hope Belichick wants Braxton on his team.
Probably add to the list of Texans that got let go & then played in a Super Bowl.
Of everyone out there, I can see Belichek sitting back and doing this at the last minute.
Never place a bet on anything that can talk.
NE needs WRs desperately
Can he be a receiver for the Pats? He's not 5'9" and pasty.
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
BM would be a good addition to the Patriots but I think it depends more on if Tom Brady wants him, eh? If that is an affirmative Coach B would probably grab him.
He'll get picked up for sure. Too much upside. He didn't get utilized much in Houston.
I never understood this. I mean, I know injuries didn't help him, but still...
The big question everyone will be asking themselves before signing Braxton Miller will be whether or not he was aware of Zach Smith’s unsavory behavior?
if so, what did he know & when did he know it?
Might be too tough to spin it from a PR perspective. Many teams may be inclined to stay away not wanting to be complicit or connected to DV
The biggest question everyone will ask is, “Can he throw?”
I season my simple food with hunger
And — where is transferring?
Time to drop it, friend
Dronebuck: That's sarcasm, right? Please say that was tongue and cheek....
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! The 'big question' will be, "Can this guy help us win games, and can he stay out of the trainers room and on the football field." Zach Smith is of ZERO concern for any team even remotely interested in Miller
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
Lol, that had to be sarcasm, and it got grayed out anyway. Touchy times.
Hahaha, GTFO. I hope you're kidding... You know who else played under Smith? Mike Thomas. Most teams would give their left nut to have him on their rosters.
Should work out with TP, that guy puts in the work
Can we get the Browns on the phone...
or maybe better yet, someone get the Bengals please.
Ohio teams finally giving some love to the Buckeyes so let's get this done!!
"Defiance in Silence"
No offense, love me some Braxton, but the Bengals receiving core is pretty solidified and decent. There isn't any room for him. If Auden Tate has a chance to land on the Practice Squad, you know you have a good problem.
Yeah, I love Braxton too, but the Bengals don't really have room in their WR room. Not to mention two solid pass catching RBs and a top 5 receiving TE when healthy.
yeah but can any of the Bengal's receivers pull this joystick move...
Alright, alright, so maybe we need to get Hue on the phone then...
Browns have Gordon, Jarvis, and Callaway. Miller would be 4th and competing with Higgins who has earned himself a chance to be that option.
I love miller with all my heart, but the browns don't need him. There are other teams that could use someone like him though, such as Jax.
People have to talk about something just to keep their voice boxes in working order so they'll have good voice boxes in case there's ever anything really meaningful to say. - Kurt Vonnegut
Browns fan here, and I think they could most definitely use Miller. Gordon has not played a full season in some time and Landry has shown issues with separation. Just my personal opinion, but if I were the Browns, I would welcome Brax with open arms right now.
At long last...
Callaway has all the signs of being another Gordon story. 50% chance he is in some kind of legal issue with the league before the end of the year.
Bummer. HOU seemed like a good fit. Solid outside WRs, good QB. Hopefully he can sign someplace, even if just on a practice squad. He is too good not to play professional football, he might just not be a good enough wide receiver to play professional football. Good luck XBrax.
But if he's not good enough to play WR what position is he good enough to play? DB seems like a stretch so if he can't hook up with another team as a WR his career could be in jeopardy. I suspect he will find another team, but the fact the Texans apparently don't see value in keeping him after two seasons is worrisome. Hopefully he will be one of those guy who blossoms elsewhere after at least one team has given up on him.
I think you can be a helluva football player but not master a position thus getting left out. This is what we are seeing here. See it all the time with college QBs and running backs.
Just because he doesn’t make a roster doesn’t mean he cannot play professionally or semiprofessionally - practice squad, Canada, arena, etc.
He was an extremely talented WR project.
Didn't Houston put him on to what amounts to a time out a season back for not performing or taking things seriously?
I hear the Bills are in dire need of some WR help. Worth a shot if that front office would just think about it slightly.
"Everything you see on the internet is true." - Abraham Lincoln
My Niners need help on every skill position but QB on the offense. Brax go west young man go west.
As a Bills fan I am for this. However, with the offensive line we have, Allen will never have time to get him the ball and on the few opportunities he ends the play upright, apparently he can't hit the broad side of a barn. SO............
I liked the Allen pick with the expectation that he was a project. You don't throw projects in to start in Week 1 but it's what we're doing due to injuries with AJ. He'll get better but this year will be waste and thanks in large part to that offensive line. Holy shit...they're bad as bad can be. It'll be a rough year for this team, I believe.
How often do QB's come into the league and dramatically increase their completion percentage?
I know he's got that howitzer for a right arm but it does no good if he can't put it where it needs to be. I watched David Carr basically get his career ruined by a terrible (that's being nice) offensive line. I fully expect that to happen here.
I thought they'd give him one more season, so a little surprised.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." - Abraham Lincoln
He was always going to be a bit of a project. Don't think he was being properly used in HOU, I know he's not a RB but he should have had more than 4 rushing attempts in 2 years. If T. Hill gets 41 in 2 years B. Miller should have gotten more than 4.
"Because I couldn't go for three."
He's gotta show up on somebodies radar! Too good not to.
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Wishing Brax the best - The NFL is a tough sport.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
He's a very dynamic athlete. Watching old games on BTN has been a nice reminder how special he was. I would love to see him with the Browns.
Our Honor Defend we will Fight to the end for O-HI-O!
Sure wish I could watch BTN on Comcast
Supposedly they came to an agreement I live out of the BIG footprint so I only had two channels ... I had it and lost it but hoping to get it back with this agreement... oh yes and Comcast is basically a monopoly here in Mass, where I live they are my only choice for HS Internet which has sucked only having that choice now for years.
comcast was back on in south broward, 1313 in hd and 742 in standard
That's a bummer. Rooting for the kid to find a new home.
In the poll era (since 1936), OSU is by far the class of the B1G:
National Titles: OSU 8, UM 3
B1G Titles: OSU 33, UM 27
Head-to-head: OSU 42, UM 36
Major Bowls (New Year's Six): OSU 20-14, UM 10-16
Nooooooooooo! We love you and believe in you Brax! Paging John Dorsey and my Brownies.....
I bet Belichick picks him up for the practice squad with plans of him replacing Cordarrelle Patterson who is in the last year of his current contract. One year to study the playbook and the finer points of playing in that offense and Braxton Miller will be the next Julian Edelman (who is 32 btw)
'Vel primus, velcum primis'
I can’t stand the Pats, but that’s would be such a Patriots thing to do and that’s what keep them so good for so long. That and QB1.
"...but then again 'Michigan' and 'huge mistake' are synonymous so that shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anybody." - Mark Titus
I don't think the Patriots pick him up. Too much of a project. Another team might.
This is kind of shocking, the Texans beat writers said he was having a great camp and had likely solidified his roster spot.
I’d imagine Braxton could be a pretty electric punt/kick returner. Not sure if he was ever given the chance in Houston. I’m sure he’d rather be a WR, but I’d be surprised if he can’t find success on special teams. Next Josh Cribbs?
Come to Jax, Braxton! We just lost one of our WRs last week!
Browns have a definite need ... please
1-As they say if there is something missing in your game NFL stands for " Not For Long". Making an NFL roster is no joke.
2- I'm sure he will get picked up by someone.
3-Him tearing up his shoulder was the best thing that could have happened to his draft stock. He wasn't going to make it as a QB.
Him tearing up his shoulder was the best thing that could have happened to his draft stock. He wasn't going to make it as a QB.
I don't know. Have you seen some of the QB's that are on NFL rosters?
Get him to Cleveland ASAP.
Fields of Dreams
The Texans coach, old Billy whatever,is a moron. I'd bet he's gone after this year unless he pulls something out of his butt.
The only hard day was yesterday
Please go to GB and become the next Randall Cobb. Plus, I hear they have a pretty good QB.
I think the Pack is sticking with everyone they had on camp. But he would be a decent option to replace Cobb.
If you click to go to my website, I am not responsible.
Don't ruin my dreams! Lol
Just goes to show...gotta be more than just a 'dynamic athlete' and a highlight real guy to stay on a roster in the NFL. All of them are freak athletes. Gotta bring value. Braxton is too fragile.
And until you’re an established guy, you need to be able to play Special Teams. Saw a best write say it wasn’t his Receiving skills as much as it was his ability to contribute on Special Teams.
There are NFL teams that could use his skills if they understand how to utilize him. The Browns just need to sign any Buckeye they can get.
This sucks. They even had an article in the paper here a couple weeks ago about his potential and improvement as a route runner and so on. I was hoping he would stick and become a really good slot option for Watson.
Between this and Bridgewater going to the Saints and all but killing Barrett's chance of making the roster, this sucks.
I wish nothing but the best for Braxton, wherever he goes. Shoot, come back to TOSU as an assistant.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Really, he is still trying to learn the position. Which is a shame, he is special with the ball in his hands.
Texans suck anyway
Never understood why a guy as dynamic as Braxton doesnt become a kick returner, his open field skills man he could be dynamic in that role and could then be a deeper bench WR
As best as I can recall the number of guys who have made a career primarily as a KR is pretty small. There have been a rare few but generally even the best returners need to add something more. 53 man rosters don't have much room for that kind of specialist unless he is truly a threat to score on every return.
Best of luck to the most electric playmaker in Ohio State history!
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
C'mon Saints, pick him up!
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
heard several weeks ago that his roster spot was in jeopardy due his inability to stay healthy and on the field
it's obvious to me the saints will pick him up.
THIS TIMES 1000!
"They couldn't beat me with two Xichigan coaches. So they had to come down here and take a coach that I trained." -Woody Hayes
There comes a day when it's time to hang it up. Come and coach at tOSU. We can always use good people.
Fingers crossed for GB. I think they might have someone there who can get him the ball.
Braxton should have been a first round WR pick if this idiot called anything for him besides a jet sweep into 10 defenders in a box
You serious clark?
http://www.tiptop25.com/topcoaches_winpercent.html Urban is the winningest big time CFB coach in the modern ERA.. but yeah he's an idiot.
Lol, 11w commenters hate any dissenting comment about their beloved head coach
Not sure how the logic of your opinion is making any sense. If he was a first round talent he wouldn't be being waived by the Texans right now.
So you think Urban did a good job utilizing Braxtons talents in his final year as a Buckeye? You think he fully utilized his skill set? Lol, ok buddy.
Saying that playing Braxton (by his own choice) at QB hurt his development as a WR is a valid opinion.
Calling Urban Meyer an idiot is something completely different.
You're not someone with a dissenting opinion, you're just a jackass.
He's got two problems. Still struggling with the position and learning and understanding the ins and outs of playing WR in a pro-offense.... and he can't stay healthy. Dude should be able to sign on to any team and return kicks but up to this point and he doesn't want to do that. I get it. For a guy with a history of injuries last thing you probably want to do is return kickoffs. At some point here soon though he's going to have to either returns kicks or call it a career. There's just not a lot of learning and teaching at the NFL level. Coaches spend the majority of their time rolling out their playbook and correcting what players are doing wrong with the plays..
Could be an ugly few days for ex OSU QBs. Cardale probably going to get cut by the Chargers and JT probably looking at practice squad in NO..
A third problem was that he didn’t block very well.
But I thought good blocking Receivers had no value.
Bill O'Brien still salty about 2012 and 2013?
"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
Dolphins, Ravens and Raiders all need a WR.
The only true worry we should have about this 2019 team is this:
Why is Sevyn Banks wearing number 12?
not the ravens. Please God no

Stinks for XBrax, nobody has worked harder to get where he is. I suspect if he cant latch onto another NFL squad that one of the new startup pro leagues or the CFL would be an option. Brax's athletic ability will grab the attention of someone

I am a Minnesota Viking fan. I would love ir if he became our 3rd Buckeye. Think about it Braxton. Won last year. New QB. Call Mr. Speilman and make it happen.
As I'm checking the cuts on NFL.com, Braxton seems to be the only Buckeye that has been cut so far today, but a lot of teams haven't announced cuts yet.
Ravens just waived DeVier Posey...
Saw Tracey Sprinkle cut too
Miller is an average NFL wideout. His time in the league was 3yrs; that's what average players get. I hope he can use his athletic gifts to earn a paycheck, but if not, life goes on. Real Life Wednesdays is the most important program ever implemented by OSU football.
Billy came on said that report is bullshit.
"I spent 90 percent of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted." - George Best
Double post. I blame drunk fingers.
The Saints will pick him up because they have realized the talent that comes out of Columbus
"When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less" - Paul Brown
We are biased here he was a project and they took a chance on him. There have been about 4 other players that will never be stars in the NFL Pryor surprised he lasted this long and is JT still on a team?
I miss Braxton Miller “the quarterback”. I wish he would of stayed at quarterback. Braxton is a game changer from the pocket. A cornerbacks worst nightmare. You’re almost forced to play zone every play because in man to man he will run away. I hope he plays quarterback in the Canadian League where I can be an awe of his plays once again.
Because I couldn't go for three
Not sure he can throw a ball any more? We never used him to throw a pass once he returned and the arm maybe toast sad to say.
He can run a hell of a wildcat!
