Ohio State will have more TDs Saturday than Haskins thrown incompletions.
And on fourth and one... would you believe?
I could see that. Im not a gambler, but those Haskins odds for Heisman almost made me place a bet. He's the undisputed quarterback on a loaded team. His numbers are going to be insane.
Ohio State loses one game, in 2018:
I hope not!
But that is a big trap game to watch!
Still If we have to have 1 loss on our record, I'd take it here. It's out of the division and not against our rivals.
"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
As close as they played Northwestern last night, I'm not worried about Purdue after seeing them in action at their place. We'll be fine.
damn thought i was gonna sleep tonight but not anymore
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
One of the two Frosh RBs will leapfrog Weber.
You think? That may be too bold.
One of the two Frosh RBs will leapfrog Weber.
Read that too quickly, thought you said, "One of the two Frosh RBs will leapfrog a Beaver!". (Need to make sure I have my glasses on, too!)
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
They said bold...not brash!
Really? Weber was pretty good last year so I feel one of the freshmen need to be Maurice Clarrett/Ezekiel Elliot good for that to happen. Urban Meyer has not benched a veteran proven player for a younger guy yet, and is another reason why I feel it is unlikely.
That's a helluva take considering how much the coaches love Weber, but you can't sleep on Master Teague, he is a freakin' man sized freshman.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Weber is a great back, would start at most schools. He's a JAG for the Bucks though, Dobbins is a superstar instant household name. If one of the two freshmen, or both turn out to be studs, you play them now because they will not be coming back for year 4. I like the take Zona!
“It does not matter the size of the man, rather the amount of effort the man is willing to put forth” - Woody
OSU will put up 70 points
Edit: I meant this saturday
anything easy ain't worth a damn
OSU runs the table. That is the homer in me, and I know it is far fetched, hence why it is a bold prediction.
Also, Weber and Dobs each rush for 1,000 yards, we have multiple receivers with over 500 yards receiving, and the Dwayne Train will throw for 30 TDs.
I like it! Good take!
Great thread. I'll go for two predictions neither of which have to do with Ohio State because my obvious prediction for them is pain for their opponents.
1: West Virginia wins the Big 12 and goes to the playoff.
2: LSU beats Alabama in Baton Rouge.
Analytics hated WV in Navy's post. Theyre a trendy pick, but I think Texas has twice the chance to overtake the Sooners than WV.
Analytics should hate WVU because their defense is trash. My prediction is that they won't need their defense plus they get Oklahoma at home. We have all seen that you don't really need a defense in the Big 12 to be excellent in that conference. Now if my bold prediction does somehow come true, I have a much less bold prediction that WVU would get handled rather easily in a semifinal against a Big 10 team, an SEC team, or Clemson.
Bold, yet totally ones I can see (and hope do) happen!
Is that you Burrow? Still hanging out on our boards?
The more you act like a lady the more likely he’ll act like a gentleman.
I'll go with the hot take from Birm (or was it Austin) on LR: the Buckeye defense will score more TDs then Oregon's offense.
Ohio State wins a national championship this year.
This is Urban Meyer's last season in Columbus.
The Greg Schiano-led Ohio State Buckeyes win the conference next year.
Dwayne Train's NFL bound next year.
This post collects at least 8 DVs.
Lifetime vs. UM: L 8-1, C 7-0, T 4-0
I doubt this is Coach Meyer's last season
That's a Buckeye touchdown!
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
Don't agree with everything, but nothing is DV worthy.
This should be a cover letter for an ESPN talking head application. Scorching hot lol
Hottest take of all: Tate Martell becomes an Edelman-like WR & never starts a game at QB because he's a midget.
Im with you that Dwayne is gone next year. Are you saying Tates going to move to receiver, and we'll all be on the Baldwin Bus next year?
Yep. That's the take.
Let Meatchicken Beat Meatchicken!!!!
I predict that by the end of the year, we will all love the player that is Tate Martel. I really do see a guy who is a game breaker in him at the collegiate level.
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
I think you have found the surefire way to not get downvotes. No one will downvote this because they don't want to prove one of your bold predictions correct, haha.
Also, any post that starts with "Ohio State wins a national championship" is ineligible for a downvote in my opinion. Unless you followed it with "I think the Smith's are good people and even better parents."
I now refuse to down vote you out of spite.
Weber out rushes Dobbins, and Bosa Picks up a fumble and runs it in for a TD.
There's no way Weber outrushes Dobbins unless JK gets hurt.
I am assuming he is talking about the first game. Otherwise his prediction of Bosa picking up one fumble and scoring a touchdown during the entire season isn't exactly bold.
Yep- 1st game. If the game gets out of hand Weber may get more touches along with others(Teague etc.). It's really not "bold" it's more of a probability based on how well the game goes for the Buckeyes.
Bosa Picks up a fumble and runs it in for a TD
How.. did you know
Weber out rushes Dobbins, and Bosa Picks up a fumble and runs it in for a TD.
Looks like I may nail this prediction! :
Meh... he didnt really run it in... lol
Valid point- LOL ;)
There will be 1 team from Alabama in the college football playoff, and it won't be the Crimson Tide.
I too am pumped about UAB's return to football.
-Clemson or the SEC will not win the NC.
-PSU will lose 4 games
-Chase Young breaks the sack record
-the entire staff is back next year and Hartline is the permanent WR Coach until Day is promoted to HC at which time Hartline becomes OC.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
The loss of Joe Moorhead is going to be every bit as big as the loss of Barkley and Goosenecky. I’m surprised by the number of people saying McSquirrely has a shot at the Heisman.
I agree; I think Moorhead's loss is being significantly understated. I liken it to Atlanta losing Shanahan last season -- that offense was a juggernaut during the SB run but was pretty pedestrian last year.
Fickell upsets UCLA in Chip Kelly's debut.
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
Bama has 2 losses this year, doesn’t make the playoffs and the wheels start coming off the bama train.
I'm not sure if this is your prediction or a dream I have every night.
It’s my prediction, they lose two regular season games this year. Book it.
Nick Saban turns 67 this season on All Hallows' Eve. One down year might make Saban call it quits. I could see this. Make it happen, Burrow.
Yep, they don’t make the playoffs and Dabo does and people jump off the Saban train and on the Dabo train.
Think Dabo would be interested in Bama after Saban? I don't think he'd want any part of that pressure (and why would he).
Dabo will stay at Clemson forever. The only way I could see him leaving is if Bama falls off after Saban leaves, Clemson has a solid future and he decides he wants to salvage something at his alma mater. For the foreseeable future, he has it made at Clemson.
I tend to agree. I mean he's a God at Clemson regardless of what he does going forward. If he goes to Bama after Saban and doesn't win a National Championship in his first two to three years they won't show him any mercy just because it's his alma mater.
I think when bama doesn’t make the playoffs this year after losing two regular season games that the wheels start coming off the train. The bama faithful will start calling for a change and Dabo will be their man. I have no idea if Dabo wants to leave Clemson for bama, I am talking more about their fan base wanting him.
If Bama loses two games, then they will become the first two loss team to make the playoffs. The “committee” will break every precedent they have to in order to include Bama.
Nick Saban quits football after 2 losses to become a priest.
OSU goes 15-0.
Matthew Baldwin passes Tate Martell on the depth chart. Martell transfers.
Chase Young and Nick Bosa are first-team all-American DEs.
Dwayne Haskins wins the Heisman trophy.
Shea Patterson is going to be a flop and Michigan will have 4 losses by the time they play us.
No way Shea is a flop, you must have not watched football last year --Shea Patterson VS LSU: 10/23 116yds 0tds 3ints 15.4passer rating ;)
It’d be an interesting thing to see Haskins and Burreaux go off this year, and watch Shea look average under the QB whisperer.
Trying to be unbiased here....I think Shea has a statistically great year but will struggle a bit in a few games. I will not be shocked if he leads the B1G in passing yards yet is totally ineffective at times.
No such thing as a bad win
I will be shocked, LSU wasn't the only game. He was garbage against any team that had a decent defense. Alabama, his Auburn stats don't look horrible but he didn't score any points until he was down like 40-3. He will have to face preseason defensive ranked teams such as ND-7th, Wisky-9th, Penn ST-16th, MSU-3rd and OSU-8th.... Hot take Peterson will be playing for UM this year at some point
Already made mine...we get more yards rushing that the Courtney thread gets comments....looking tougher every hour..right now we need 360 to beat CS ( no pun intended).
ttun 2019 offense...same pig, different lipstick.
Purdue will win the B1G West.
"You're the patron saint of the totally effed" - Hot Tub Time Machine
They did look a bit frisky, though. Major trap game at their place this year.
Rondale Moore seems to be a game-breaker - gotta watch out for him
1. Jonathan Taylor breaks Barry Sanders single season rushing record
2. Some team not named Alabama wins the SEC
3. 2 teams from the BIG make the playoff
4. Haskins leads the conference in total yards
5. Browning leads the team in tackles
6. Weber out rushes Dobbins
7. Austin Mack emerges as WR1
Ohio State will beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl
Alabama will win the Orange bowl
Ohio State will beat Alabama to win the title
Dwayne Haskins will catch a TD on a trick play against Alabama
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Buckeyes run the table.
Georgia wins the SEC.
Oregon wins the PAC 12
BIG12, PAC12, and ACC all get snubbed in the CFP
2 B1G teams and 2 SEC teams are in. OSU, Wisconsin, Georgia, Bama. The entire university of Clemson burns to the ground when their team is overlooked by the committee when they pick Bama again as a non division and conference winner.
"No we don't give a da*n 'Bout the whole state of *ichigan"
Don’t think Wisconsin will ever get picked as a non-conference champ
And they would have to get picked immediately after a loss (B1G championship) in this scenario.
True as well. If the Buckeyes can’t make it I’d love to root for Wisconsin, but I don’t think they’ll get “contender” respect until they win the Big Ten as a 0 or 1 miss team
Well to be honest I was kinda stretching a bit to fit the "bold" requirement. But I do think it could happen if the following happened.
An undefeated Ohio State beats at the time undefeated Wisconsin in a close game.
The Big 12, and PAC 12 champs each have two or more losses, and Clemson doesn't win their conference.
Like I said, likely not gonna happen but wanted to see how crazy I could get without getting nutty.
- Alabama loses 2 games against the softest schedule they have faced since Saban has been there. Become first 2 loss team to make the playoffs.
- Washington goes undefeated
- Florida State beats Clemson
- A Non QB wins the Heisman
- Georgia turns the reigns over to Justin Fields halfway through the season
- Jalen Hurts starts at Alabama
- A Group of 5 Team will go undefeated
- Florida wins 10 games
- None of mine are Ohio State based because it’s never bold to say anything positive about Ohio State
Five teams going unbeaten would be a nightmare scenario for the committee. As it gets into ticky tacky at that point, unless SoS is really amped up at that point and such.
Has that ever happened with the major programs before?
I think you misread my post. I said a Group of 5 school will go undefeated. Meaning 1 team I.e. UCF last year. Since I believe Bama will have 2 losses and still make the playoff the fact that the group of 5 team gets left out again will be a huge storyline.
Oh one other prediction.....*ichigan gives up 600 yards to ND and loses handily.....
Meyer doesn't coach this season
After glancing at your post history I'm not sure if you're predicting this or wishing this. Either way I predict you're wrong.
There's another poster called WestofColumbus that has the same MO. I wonder if they share the same IP address?
Send the Earth Reverberating
Meyer is here for 10 plus more years!
Bucks fans in Mass
The PAC 12 will not be represented in this years installment of the College Football Playoff. Washington will lose to Auburn week 1 and ruin what slim chance the rest of the conference has to make it.
I think Washington is going to get killed. The PAC is garbage right now.
A Buckeye will represent at the Heisman Ceremony and it will be either Haskins, Dobbins, or Bosa.
Bosa breaks the school single season sack record.
Weber and Dobbins each get 1,000 yards rushing.
Isaiah Prince is an All-American and Outland Finalist.
The B1G Champion wins the national championship.
Wilton Speight becomes a Heisemen finalist
GoBlue servers finally melt down after Sometime between ND and Sparty victories over UM
Penn State has a whiteout for the buckeyes, they’ll be covered in red from the massacre we put on them
Bama will lose to LSU and Auburn, but I think they lose 3 games this year.
When in doubt... Muck Fichigan
Joe Burrow is s first team all sec quarterback.
Ohio State doesn’t get a 1st-round corner in the ‘19 draft
USC loses 4 games
Cardale Jones gets a PhD in Playing School
Nick Bosa finishes this season with 15+ sacks
JK Dobbins finishes the season with 1700+ yards
Dwayne Haskins throws 30+ TDs and less than 13 picks
Kendall Sheffield will get drafted in the first round.
By the Penn State game the starting corners will be Sheffield/Okudah and probably Wade in the slot.
and there's accurate
there's too deep
and there's some appropriate golden # for the deep we 'allow'....
in all this there's entertainment
and relevance... if you look for it.
The irish pick Patterson off 3 times.
The offense racks up over 5500 total yards this season
Weber and Dobbins combine for 2400 on the ground
2 wrs will have 10 TD catches each
Pete Werner leads team in tackles
Bosa, Cooper and Young combine for 30 sacks
Togiai passes Landers to start by season's end. Landers still plays plenty, though.
Bama doesn't win the SEC and doesn't make the playoff. They have a QB controversy, talented but inexperienced pass catchers, and a young, inexperienced defense.
Also, many are saying the reason Saban hasn't picked a starting QB is that he doesn't want one to transfer if he isn't picked. That gets totally lost in all of this. Saban is looking out for number 1 (himself). Pathetic.
1. Chase Young gets 10+ sacks.
2. Jonathon Cooper get 6+ sacks.
3. Master Teague and Brian Snead gain 600+ yards between them.
4. Auburn loses 4 games, then beats Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
This has little to do with the subject at hand, but I used to bet on college football games. I had successive losing seasons from 1979-82, and decided to change my approach. I researched every team and game from the previous year, and bet only on those teams that returned a minimum of four starters on the offensive line, and at least five among the front seven on defense. In 1983, I hit a nine-team parlay on the first week's games, then a five-teamer during the second week. I'm 1984, I hit a seven-teamer the first week of the season, then another fiver during the second week's games. This system did NOT work in games after the initial two weeks of the season, and later in 1984, I was transferred to Germany for a two-year tour. I lost interest in betting thereafter, but I sometimes wonder whether that system was a fluke, or not.
Fuck that’s old
--Ohio State goes 10-2 on the season, losing to Penn State and Michigan.
--Michigan wins the B1G, goes to the college football playoff, and wins the national championship over Washington.
--Coach Meyer returns to OSU after the 3 game suspension, but is not the same coach as before. After the conclusion of the regular season and before OSU's bowl game, Meyer resigns as head coach of OSU, sighting health concerns.
--Ohio State hires Iowa State's Matt Campbell as it's next football coach in January 2019.
"In America, anyone can become president. That's the problem." George Carlin
Washington being in the title game might just be the boldest
I do not get the PAC love. USC looked great in league play, but they didn't belong on the field with us.
Haskins break single game and season passing yards records
Bosa AND Young both have more than 13 sacks a piece this year
The Michigan hype is real
'The Game' features two undefeated teams (spoiler alert: Buckeyes win 24-20)
Dwayne Haskins is in NYC at the end of the season for the Heisman ceremony (not bold enough to say he wins but he's in the top 4).
Michigan loses 3+ games.
Dobbins has more yards but Weber has more touchdowns. Both finish over 1,000 yards.
Haskins breaks the B1G passing touchdowns record (currently held by Brees at 39).
