BOOM - Congrats Kierstan - Welcome to the team !!
You gotta like that she's number 5 in the country and had a chance to play anywhere.
Here we come dabo !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Seattle Sounders 2019 MLS Champions
Similar thoughts- but all those accolades and she’s only #5?? Somethings got to give.
Tough crowd - there must be some real good competition out there in the 2019 class.
As someone who coached AAU for years and had a daughter who played as well, some of the evaluators are full of shit lol...if you attend their camps religiously it increases your ratings..if not, you get a good rating if you’re elite but not as good as player X who isn’t as good as you are but they have a good relationship with them. Not all of them are like that but I’ve seen some shady stuff go down over the years.
Thanks for the input W7 - sounds like the more you travel - the higher the rating, skill set aside, within reason.
No prob and that is exactly it. It’s more fair than unfair but it can get pretty crazy.
She is a beast, but she has a horrible attitude. That might be the reason.
The ugly truth is often downvoted
How do you know she has a horrible attitude? I have met few teenagers that don't suffer from teenage indignation.
I've seen her literally curse out her coaches on 2 different occasions. She was thrown out of the gym the last time my daughter's team played them. If she gets it together she will be a #1 overall WNBA pick.
ugh. That doesn't sound good. Didn't we have a guard from the east coast a few years back that was a bit on the "excitable" side? I remember thinking that if she could keep her mouth shut she would be so much better...
I hope this one learns the lesson early.
BOOM.....great news for the Buckeye Nation.....stay positive!
"Because it worked," Ryan Day says, laughing.
I live in the distance of this young ladys high school. I havent seen her play yet but ive been hearing since her freshman year that shes a beast. Ill have to check out a few games this year.
Take advantage of the local team's talent. They deserve the communities support.
Fields of Dreams
HA! I seriously have one of those guitars lying around here somewhere.....
Her moves are so fluid.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Boom!!! I'm excited to see her play!
Nothing that comes easy is worth a dime.
She's a beast. Wow.
Easy you guys with the beast moniker. So so not pc in this day and age.
"Age wrinkles the body, quitting wrinkles the soul" Woody Hayes
Had to just come back and be serious.
Fuck that pc bullshit! At #5 you qualify as a beast. Go get some!
And She-Bron? You got it girl!
I hadn't heard that female athletes get offended when called "beasts". It seems the ultimate compliment. Did a quick search and came across an article that addresses just this topic.
I didn’t use the italics to show I was kidding. Just assumed with my next post I made it clear. I’ve used the term beast my whole life when talking about any athlete that is great. I’m just tired of the sensitive people in this pc world we live in now. Thanks for posting that article.
Gotcha. No harm, no foul.
Wow! This young lady has some serious accolades. Welcome to the family.
Feed the trolls
BOOM! Welcome young lady.
Welcome to the Buckeye Nation Kiddo! Thank You!
“Show me a good loser...and I’ll show you a loser.”
KA-BOOM !!! Good wishes to her.
Great news! I wish my younger daughter would keep playing, but she hates running and is super self conscious. She told me last year if she played in HS she wouldn’t play college because she doesn’t want espn, etc to talk about her.
She is 11 and almost my height.
This reminds me of my daughter a handful of years ago. Tall girl who came to sports a bit late, but had an obvious talent to excel at basketball. Only, she didn't love it. An elite secondary private school in the area even offered her a scholarship after she camped there just after getting started (but she was already happy with attending one of the better public magnets in the country). She went on to play hoops her freshman season, but decided she needed to pursue her real desire to be running track as a sprinter. After a bumpy ninth grade season, she went on to anchor her school's 4x100 for three seasons as one of the better team's in the city. Lesson learned. They just need to do the thing they love best, as that's where the best results will be found.
WOW. Talk about great news! Welcome!!!
You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.
Now, if only Jordan and Zia come aboard we're looking at a top tier women's program at OSU real soon.

Hate to be the downer but McGuff has yet to prove he can coach them to be elite. Great recruiter but something is still missing. There is a tendency for his teams to get either get beat by teams with lesser talent or his recruits do not develop as far as they should.
The team surely can make more of a commitment to excelling at the defensive end of the court.
The girl from Toledo is a PG, and McGuff already has a good one committed in Rikki Harris, from Indianapolis for the 19' class. I imagine the Buckeyes are the leader for Horston-Columbus girl, but that is just speculation on my part.
Wow. That’s a serious basketball player right there! Welcome aboard!!
Great pickup. BOOM !!!!!!! BOOM !!!!!!!!
Boom! Awesome! Love it! Looking forward to seeing her come and excel for the Buckeyes. She has "the look" of a big-timer, the kind we need to go toe-to-toe with a UConn, which is ultimately what this is all about. I hope the other two Ohio girls mentioned come on board, and then let's get to dreaming of something special happening with that group.

Jordan Horston & Zia Cooke are both guards as well, as are both of Ohio State's other two verbals (Rikki Harris & Jacy Sheldon). That doesn't count Janai Crooms coming in this year.
That's a lot of guards, even if Kierstan moves to the wing.
Thanks much for the update. Though I do make a fairly decent effort to follow OSU women's basketball, and to watch any game that's televised where I live, I was caught flat-footed re: Harris and Sheldon's commitments, though I'd heard about Dorka Juhasz and Carmen Grande joining the program. Your post caused me to pull up the roster, and wow - that's a lot of change, a lot of graduate players, and a lot of guards! Of course, those graduate guards will cycle off pretty quickly, and if UConn can stockpile elite talent at guard, why not Ohio State, too?
Boom indeed! She's got the moves like Jagger..:) Welcome to the Buckeye family, Kierstan! Can't wait until you get here..:)))
We didn't lose the game.. we just ran out of time. Vince Lombardi
she's incredible. seen her play live a few teams as a mck alum myself. so happy to see she's a buckeye.
stark county football
She got game
And 2 more top 10 players in Ohio? Could be a special year.

My daughter’s played against her when she was a freshman and I was in awe of how good she was then. This is a huge get for the Bucks!! She will be one of the best players in the country immediately.
BOOM! Welcome to the family, Kierstan!
That highlight video was hilarious with the announcer saying "Kierstan Bell" every 5 seconds. I felt bad for the skinnier shorter girls trying to guard Kierstan.

wow, who knew America's Sweetheart kicked so much ass at basketball? I really loved her in The Good Place. (If you know what I mean... OK, no I didn't, but I know a guy who did.... Ok, no I don't, but you can imagine if they did....)
Auto Veronica Mars upvote.
BOOM! Welcome aboard Kierstan!
15-1 is SWEET!
Love my Buckeyes! McGuff is good people. It’s going to take some patience and consistency to keep the talent rolling in and get off the BIG women’s rollercoaster as programs take turns moving up and down standings. Geno needed 10 years, but Beth Burns, Jim Foster, etc..couldn’t consistently recruit like this guy. Let him work. Mold the diva, move her forward, and get her some help... Lookin’ good.
It’s gonna be very satisfying hearing the moralist media announce “2019 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes”. Mark May, Finebaum, and the like can chug Maalox and wipe their eyes...
I just hope she is not a head case and big schools backed off because of that reason. Canton Mckinley is a pipe line on the men's side to the m schools since the 60's. Tons of talent has been lost to them.
