One more week I guess. Don't trust Drake or this committee
I don’t get why people have turned on Drake. He’s going to do whatever the committee says.
Jon Waters. Some other stuff at Irvine.
Agreed. Drake has done what he has to do to protect OSU. He’s made no bad statements and he has a top notch investigative committee. Don’t get any hostility toward or distrust of him.
Never had support to be hete in the first place. Jon Waters for 1...
Go Bucks! TTUN tears are best! Beat Wisky!!!
Never earned it. It doesn't help that he comes across as having the personality of a rock.
Apologies to rocks ~ one wonders if he has ever laughed at a joke in his lifetime?
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. ~ Mark Twain
He tells jokes. Nice sense of humor actually. I think he will do the right thing. He cares about this University. Give him a break.
Please share a Drake joke. We could all use a break for a good laugh about now.
Here's stand-up comic Drake on Saroyan's book the Human Comedy and others. Enjoy!
Ua Mau ke Ea o ka 'Aina I ka Pono. The life of the land is preserved in righteousness. (Hawai'i state motto) Aloha nui kakou.
Stupid me. I kept waiting for a joke or actual statement. If he had been a football coach he would have been Tressel at-a-presser except 100x more boring.
"Never earned it," meaning? Previous leadership roles? Academic background? Business background? Say more. I'm curious.
These (Urban and Gene)are his people, and his university's policies. He obviously doesn't trust them.
Why does he need to make a decision via committee?
He's the President of the largest University in the United States. If he cannot stand up and make a Big Boy Decision, then he shouldn't be in the Big Boy Chair.
He has not done anything particularly special while he's been here - it isn't as if the Medical System wasn't going to expand anyway (and that generates half of the University's revenue).
I don't see him as value-added in any way. He seems to be a creature of personal survival.
Do you think he was hired for diversity purposes?
Careful Mtrotb! You will draw out 68 and get an explanation of diversity and how it applies to this that only a handful of people here can decipher! Also after reading you wont know if he was agreeing with your point or cursing you in some language resembling English! LOL
I am merely asking a question and no one can or should read into my question or any subliminal meaning or my viewpoint. Not sure why I am getting downvotes for asking a question. There is no opinion listed to agree or disagree.
Dang! I go into the movies for a couple hours and come back out and they are all over Mtrotb! I knew asking that question could be taken the wrong way but didn't think it would get this kinda reaction! I was just pickin at you and 68 a lil bit with my comment.
If anything he had to work twice as hard to be considered half as good! I’d be willing to bet he’s in the position by merit.
No. Urban Meyer was hired for diversity purposes.
If he fires Meyer without cause he costs the university $38 million. If he decides to retain him without even investigating he looks like he doesn’t care about any of the DV allegations. Both reasons make the committee necesssry.
You don’t need a Committee to investigate. Do an internal one. Make a decision and move on.
this is why there’s a President. Shoot let’s just outsource all difficult decisions. That way we can point to the Faceless Committee and blame them.
I could not disagree more. First off,, any internal investigation would never be respected externally. Second, you should have people investigate who made a career...wait for it...investigating things. It is painful waiting for this to play out, but this was the way to handle it.
You are entitled to you own opinion, not your own facts.
And let’s be honest, $38M is the tip of the iceberg. Wrongful termination, loss of on field production, long time fans cancelling season tix, etc could cost OSU more several hundred mil
Actually it will probably cost them less. If they release him following this investigation you can bet it will be for cause. As for those season tickets there will be a line waiting to snap them up. I am rooting for Meyer to be reinstated but I have not doubt the University will not hesitate to do what they think is right.
Just as an FYI, being the head of any organization is incredibly difficult. You pointing out the size of Ohio State doesn't impart the President with any more ability, it just imparts the job with even more constant flow of work to be dealt with.
The man is not an HR specialist. You wouldn't want that either. He's a generalist. He's doing the right thing. The school wants to get good recommendations from people that it trusts to make the right decisions. The school wants to make the right decision, not the fast one, and not the one informed by their gut.
He's doing the right thing. He's trying to get the best answer. The best thing we as students/alumni/fans can do is hope that the school is doing just that. Coming to the best answer for a difficult problem. There's no reason to get hostile at him when he's doing the right thing.
Good point Johnny, but can’t the same logic be applied here to Urban not being a HR specialist and using information provided by others (HR, police, etc) to make his decision considering Smith in 2015?
Better question: why as an institution that has billion dollar budgets annually do we not have better PR? We pay probably millions to lawyers that constantly lose and suck. Seems like poor leadership to me. Conspiracy me says the BoT has vested interests that need to be protected. As someone that's been here long enough to know: conspiracy me is correct. We get bought off and become co-conspirators and the coverup is not over Meyer or football, the coverup is to maintain a facade of being a great, honest, academic institution that actually values being such. It's BS and a money grab. And the last bit applies to any major, publicly funded uni.
Why does he need to make a decision via committee?
I think he has 500,000 reasons to at least hear what the committee has to say. But that is just me...
"At critical moments throughout the season, we learned about the character of this football team. This was a team of true character, of true resilience." -- President Barack Obama
Well I would think giants point was that they never should have been hired. I disagree, but if they weren’t, the money wouldn’t come into it at all.
Well, if the committee hadn't been paid $500,000, they wouldn't have looked into it....because they really don't care about this silly situation anyways. It's a farce
And "ya gotta luv" the administrative, committee group speak:
Ohio State’s Board of Trustees had formed a special, independent working group...
The independent working group directing the investigation...
The investigators will then prepare a report for the working group...
the working group will share the report with the Board of Trustees in an executive session...
As required by law, public notice of the meeting will be released at least 24 hours in advance.
Following deliberations with the Board, and appropriate time for consideration...
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall. (F. Scott Fitzgerald)
My fear is that the independent Committee will recommend (basically) not firing Urbz, but Drake will bow to MSM pressure and go against those recommendations anyway, and (maybe) fire Urbz. We will soon find out what kind of metal he (Dr. Drake) is truly made of, and weather he has the fiber to do the right thing. We are assuming, of course, that that the events of the last week or so have outweighed the original first few days and as more light was shed on this issue, it became clearer and clearer that Urbz truly did nothing wrong, and we are assuming he told the truth about reporting the issue to whomever he had to within the Dept. You always hope that in these situations, Leaders will rise and be steadfast and true. I feel so strongly about this, that it is my 'Motto" at the bottom of all my comments, and has been since I started on this forum back in 2013. Praying for Urbz and the Meyer family this weekend...Romans 8:28 coach..never forget
"Stand and Deliver!"
If the committee says not to fire him but Drake does anyway he’s basically admitting he doesn’t have “cause”, which would cost $38 million.
Drake isn't going to fire Urban without cause. Because if he does, he will get run out of town on a rail.
We will get a look at this report eventually thru public records requests.
The more dangerous possibility is the committee slanting the report.
Romans 8:28 - Love it.
Have been praying for Urban and family since this whole thing began.
In the grand scheme of the universe, football is not a very big deal. That being said, without in any way defending or excusing abuse which Zach Smith may have committed against Courtney, I got the distinct impression that at least part of what is going on here is "an attack on Urban". Whatever else this is, one of the things happening here is an attempt to destroy Urban and Shelly and the good work he does with our young athletes (Real Life Wednesdays, and whatever else), not to mention his career. This is a man who hasn't hesitated to tweet out scripture verses and such and talk about faith in his book - he got saved when he was coaching Tim Tebow.
If it turns out he did in fact do something wrong, well, that would be disappointing and the consequences will be what they will be. But my best reading of it right now is that Urban is a target- perhaps by Courtney, and most certainly by mcmurphy. I could be completely and totally wrong. But that's the impression I got.
I've been praying for Truth to prevail, for Urban and Shelly to be protected and grow through this, for Urban to be thoroughly vindicated and for the admin and the committee to have the courage to do the right thing and resist the SJW crowd and the media and reinstate Urban.
Again, I could be wrong - we don't know what we don't know. But that's my best "read" on it as of now.
Bottom line - love your post.
Free Urban! Go Bucks!

Right on, brother, right on.
He's going to do what the BOT decide they want to do. Unless Urban really dropped the ball here, I dont see how he loses his job. Ive said for a while if there is a guy in trouble its Gene Smith
You WIN with people.
Facts are facts.. if they can Urban they'll have proof he goofed up. If they suspend they'll have proof he goofed up but it wasn't worth firing. Same for Gene..

thank you for continuing to keep this incredibly valid point in focus
Investigation concludes, but we won’t know anything until the Board meets. Sooo might be middle of next week.
Can they drag this shit any longer? Come on!
I guarantee there isnt going to be any complacency with these coaches or players after Meyer comes back. They're gonna be doing a lot of catching up in a short amount of time. Still pisses me off this has taken so long. I guess they're just worried they might miss something and have it blow up on them after they make the decision.
Not too much. I'd be surprised if an announcement didn't take place sometime between Sunday andTuesday.
me with LeBron news in June and me with urban news now
High and tight boo boo
Ice bear is also waiting.
Assuming the outcome ends up as Urban staying, I kind of like this PR move: every sports outlet was anticipating a bad news dump and probably had articles teed up as such.
Ohio State: Nope, the independent group is still thoroughly investigating.

Don’t you piss around with this, Drake. This better be expeditious and people working late hours to have this done by Monday.
I find it comical that Drake just announced "the investigation will end, when it ends.." and less than 24 hours later the administration puts this out. Drake isn't making this decision.. thank God.

Pointing this out for future forum posters claiming unsubstantiated rumors of a meeting
There will still be speculation of what somebody heard from their friends brother who knows a guy who knows a girl who's cousin takes care of Urban's lawn.
If you continue to think what you always thought, you will continue to get what you always got. #AlumforStaff
Lawn care guys do usually have a scoop or two, just fyi.
I know the same guy. Small world.
SSOOOOOOOOOOOO funny you mention that! After they fired Tressel and all the crazy Urban rumors were running rampant, including the tracking of the plane from Gainsville to OSU's airport, my golfing buddy dropped a wife worked at a dentist in Bexley story... said Shelley was there to establish their dental care. I sorta laughed when he told me that but it started to occur to me that this could be very true because he was NOT a Buckeye fan so the 'homer' angle was gone. Weeks later, it was announced that Urban had accepted the job! Immediately got a 'told you so' text!!!

My Honda CRX got flipped by a bunch of turds on 15th ave in 1999 when we lost to Illinois at home. It was the smallest car on the street. I was told the police had to flip it back from the middle of the road (from on its roof) to where I had it parallel parked. That situation really SUCKED! Don’t Riot!
One fun note. I called my dad and told him my car was flipped. If you have ever seen a CRX and how low to the ground they sit, you’d understand why he asked how th hell I flipped that car.
Dude, that absolutely sucks! My Crown Victoria got totaled in a riot on Chittenden a few years later. All the glass was smashed out and the roof and hood were smashed in. I found out when I saw my car at the police impound the next day. I read a quote in the Dispatch a few days later that said, "They tried to tip this big boat car and when they couldn't, they threw a keg through the window." There was also a bullet hole in the right-rear fender.
F riots! We should be better than that.
"The magic word's rock n' roll, Man!"
Damn! I hope your insurance took care of you like mine did. I at least got the same car a year newer and with less miles on it with the money they gave me from junking it. I swear they said “this poor college student had nothing to do with this vandalism, let’s hook him up so he can get a decent replacement”
I get the frustration, but man, if this doesn't end up the way we want and the campus erupts into mobs and fires and stupid stuff like that, then everyone involved will have represented the university very poorly. I want Urban back as much as anyone else, and I believe that he should be back, but Ohio State is bigger than one person. If he is not reinstated, then next man up. I think Urban would say the same thing.
For the record, based on the knowledge that we have at this time, I believe Urban should and will be reinstated. I just can't wait for this all to be over.
Disagree. I may not encourage fires, but I'll be damned I just accept being screwed by another university decision again, because of a lying boohoo social media shitstorm and trial by public opinion outcry. I (imo) would expect the majority of students and alumni to agree
I’m not saying I won’t be upset or angry, I’m just not gong to take out my frustration on others.

This is frustrating and concerning. The fact that it's such a rigid timeline of how they will conclude and announce gives me a bad feeling about the outcome not being what we would hope.
Michigan Fan: "We lose a long snapper and the whole team goes to shit!"
You just have a bad feeling in general. Having a timeline doesn't mean anything one way or another, other than the investigation is concluding within the 14 day window they predicted.
This is funny. Yesterday many said the fact that it might not conclude in 2 weeks is a bad sign. Now the tit appears it will, to some this is a bad sign. Stop being pessimistic .
The tit appearing usually isn't a bad sign
Agree about tits appearing being a good omen.

Lady Justice is often portrayed blindfolded, with one breast exposed, and holding scales of justice.
Hoping to see Justice done, and not a suspension/termination because the university is trying to earn PR points while looking at other OSU PR issues. In this case, real justice can not look at those issues.
In real, honest Public Relations, no discipline occurs without proper cause, i.e., transgressions that merit disciplinary action.
Either way the university gets crushed with backlash. Thank you dumb ass freak show Smith’s.
So the investigation is concluding and no new info has come out. This is a win if you want Urban Meyer back tbh.
If I were Urban, and my university didn't trust me, if be looking to go somewhere else. But that's just my opinion....
Who said they don’t trust him? That is NOT what an investigation means.
Well, if I were innocent, and they asked me about it, and then they suspend me so they can investigate, they obvious don't trust me...just my take
BTW am I right? Not ONE person stood up for Courtney Smith?
I don't think anyone has, publicly. Police, parents or friends. Just opurtunist McMurphy.....only sort of. He is just using her as a platform.

Just want this to be done. Sick of all my OSU hater co-workers here in SEC land asking me how Urbans doing. Think I’m gonna move.
Tell them they lost the fucking war, and to get over it already. Believe me, it will hit home.
Well I’ve tried to explain to them that they lost the war but they didn’t believe me. So I took a history book but they couldn’t read it. So I told them it’s on tv but they only get local “progammin”. Finally they told me that’s something a yankee would say.
When we do talk football they refer to our coach as “Myers” and call us Ohio.
So...they’re clearly lost, wayward, souls.
You should have come to that conclusion long before any of this!
Or send them this...
Very Nice! And just remember, William Tecumseh Sherman is still undefeated OOC!

I wonder if Urban will get advance notice of the decision or if he will find out when the world (we) find out. Will he receive a phone call or email from Drake? Will he have to report to Drake's office? Will thousands of media be camped in his front yard? Pleeeez let the circus end.
I'll bet he won't be notified via text message...
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
LOL! That's funny! I'm betting a lot of people glossed right by this and didn't get it.
Interesting juxtaposition/dichotomy if the committee recommends Smith/Drake and the BoD be removed er fired!
Oh what a tangled web "we" weave.
This time next week it will be done.......
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
This will be done no later than Noon on Tuesday, but probably Monday evening.
"Urban reported the incident, and he is not qualified to do any more than that."
That's all that needs to be said.
It will finish when it's finished. And by that I mean Sunday. It will be finished Sunday.
Well to be fair, it's what I tell my boss when I say something will be done on Friday. And by Sunday, I mean late on Monday.
I'm only guessing, of course, but the timing of these events suggests that the announcement of a decision will take place early in the week, otherwise, the Committee will be seen as spending too much time crafting a contrived announcement that amounts to nothing more than making excuses.
Meanwhile, if anything (and it may mean nothing), classic communications strategy says that you don't make an announcement on a Monday if you think it's going to make you look bad, because then the national media will have a whole week to pound down on you.
Thus, whichever way the Committee goes, my guess is that they feel extremely confident that they have solid evidence to back their decision. In short, the timing here suggests that they can communicate a message that is emphatic, clear and highly convincing.
This also suggests they'll decide in favor of Meyer, because I doubt they'd make a decision against him unless they first negotiated with his lawyer for a release. To make a decision without doing that first would be foolish, unless they have mega smoking gun evidence against Meyer and are totally confident of firing him "for cause" and not paying him a penny.
I strongly doubt it, but we'll see... and I'm guessing sooner than later in the week.
No. The decision will be based on the facts uncovered by the committee. There is no need to craft anything (other than a report explaining what they uncovered). People are trying to overthink this.
Agreed, Fear, and that was part of my point. If they took a longer time to make their announcement, that would smack of "crafting" a message whereas the sooner they announce their decision and findings, the more it seems like they're not worrying about perception vs. the truth.
In other words, the best crafting they could do is minimal crafting, other than making sure that they're clear, cogent and convincing about whatever they decide and why they decided it.
I'm picking, but to be clear the committee isn't making the decision. They are going to present their findings to the board and president Drake.
This is what bothers me a bit. It's totally up to Drake and the board to decide. There is no cross-examination or ability for Urban to defend himself based on the report.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Good point, Cow. I'm not sure if the Committee will make a recommendation, and BTW, I'm also curious as to who will step in front of the media to discuss the university's decision, but I'd be surprised if Drake didn't align his decision with the Committees findings, although, hmm...
Geez, we could be waiting another month if the Committee hands Drake a bunch of complex and ambiguous findings and then he has to go off and wade the pile on his lonesome.
My guess is that after consulting with attorneys (and maybe the university board), Drake will be happy to accept whatever recommendation the Committee might make, so that he'll only "sign off" for it (unless he or his advisor see any red flags), thereby mitigating his responsibility, i.e., "I appointed experts and then relied on their expertise," which is probably how it ought to be.
Does Meyer's lawyer get involved if a suspension?
It's all just speculation on my part, of course, but I doubt it, Doug, unless it's a significant suspension combined with substantially docking his pay and/or possibly imposing other restrictions that Meyer might deem unacceptable, or if Meyer feels the punishment outweighs the alleged crime to such a degree that he feels it substantially and unjustifiably impairs his future reputation and earning power.
Otherwise, I doubt that Meyer would want to sue his current and future employer, with whom he just signed a lucrative, long-term contract extension. It seems far more likely that if he objects to the nature and extent of any suspension, he would quietly accept it while 'possibly' making some sort of public statement that he disagrees with said punishment and providing a rationale for his objection.
Mostly though, I'm guess that he'd just want it to go away. BUT... I'm still guessing that we won't see anything substantial in the way of a suspension--zero to four games, tops.
WOOOOOOOOOW!!!! This has gone on long enough....and it's not over yet.
We could have played 100 games of bingo by now, IP.
Just rip the bandaid off already...
If Meyer is dismissed, then it damn well better be for reasons that have yet to be brought to light, because there is no way, based on what we know to this point, that Meyer did anything that warrants even a suspension, let alone committed a fireable offense. What's more, it's difficult to imagine anything substantive from the committee being uncovered when the media has been digging relentlessly to find something that would help to bury Meyer. It's reasonable to assume that we already know the details that will factor into whatever decision is being made, and that the investigation's purpose was to make certain that nothing else would be unearthed that would bite Ohio State in the ass. Having said that, if this were to end ugly for Urban based essentially on Courtney Smith's personal opinion that he didn't do enough to help her when every single detail points to her being untrustworthy, unreliable, and unsound, and/or to placate the national media's bloodlust for Meyer's head, then OSU will have a problem with its alumni and fanbase. The vast majority of us don't give a rip that it will be uncomfortable for Drake to stand in front of the country and say, "We've found that coach Meyer followed university protocol and met all of his obligations in reporting coach Smith to his superiors. Therefore, it is my decision, and the committee's recommendation, that Coach Meyer be reinstated immediately." This, of course, will be in addition to all of the optics language he'll spew regarding new protocols being instituted, painting the university as a champion for abuse victims everywhere, etc., etc., etc.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
+1 for saying what some are thinking. Install the proper protocols, install sensitivity training, suspend for 2-3 games, do what you have to do but darn it all, give coach his job back. This is has become such an awful show that once the decision is made (God willing a positive one), we will all thankfully be able to move on. As soon as the decision is out, the talking heads will spew about it until they're blue in the face and then patiently wait, panting like dogs for the next scandal to jump on.
Number 1 rule in life: always beat That Team Up North.
Totally agree. The only thing that raises a bit of an eyebrow is Brett McMurphy breaking report per ordering sex toys to the Woody Hayes Center, having sex with an Ohio State employee within the center, taking selfies of his wienie at the White House celebration in 2014, etc., all of which, if proven and directly linked to Meyer per his knowledge and/or indulgence of such behavior (it'll be no small thing to prove this), might lead to a firing over a "lack of institutional control" in the football program.
Without evidence, it'll just prove that Smith was an irresponsible creep, period.
I don't trust McMurphy, not because I don't like what he says, but because his journalism is dubious, and by now, despite his proclamation of being totally unbiased, he clearly has a mega self-interest in throwing whatever trash he can at Meyer and Ohio State.
He knows that his personal reputation and future depends on it.
I just hope there isn't any fire where McMurphy is blowing his latest smoke.
Very well said!
McMurphy and Brennan in 30 seconds on Finebaum.
Oh for fucks sake, why even listen to that bullshit? You know what it’s going to be.
I'm sure they will give an unbiased take on the situation. /s
I...I... I can’t wait that long.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Relax everyone. Buckeye Nation has been way too full of angst over the last 24-36 hours. Constantly trying to parse words and infer hidden meanings in completely inert statements from Drake last night, Ryan Day this afternoon, and now the university in regards to the conclusion of the investigation. We've come too far to all lose our minds before we even find out the results.
Please keep this in mind... There is currently NO information that corroborates that Zach Smith even abused his wife. And if that's true, how much more would Urban look innocent in this? 95% Urban is back by mid-week.
"No we don't give a da*n 'Bout the whole state of *ichigan"
If it is the case that there is no information that corroborates DV by ZS, that doesn't absolve Urban. It's more about allegations being reported properly or not. Doesn't matter whether ZS is guilty or not. That's my understanding.
Can you imagine the emotion in that room, when Urban walks in to greet the team on his first day back!
They better remove all the Brick walls....because those young men are going to run thru the first one they see...and they will surely unleash Hell on Oregon State. Man do I feel sorry for those guys.
Whatever happens, just remember The Ohio State University is bigger than Urban Meyer.
We're not Florida. Ohio State was great before Meyer, it'll be great after Meyer. If his tenure continues or ends here we're going to be fine.
On the information that has been presented, so far....If Ohio State fires Urban for this mess, they might not be as great as you think..
we're going to be fine.
No we're not.
I almost agree with you except for a footnote.
1. The Cooper Era
If OSU scapegoats Meyer on lack of evidence here the football program doesn't deserve to field a good team for a long time, period. As a lifelong OSU fan I'm not afraid to admit that. No one being bigger than the program does NOT excuse shitty business practices by the school president. The right decision MUST be made here, not the easiest decision .
Well..... well.... Now I'm seeing a story on Bleacher Report (from "Stadium"?) that ZS took explicit photos of himself at the White House?! WTF?! Thank God, ZS is gone.
Sure pray Drake, Smith and the board have to the courage and guts to stand up to the SJW crowd and the media.
(And I encourage everyone with like mind to do the same.)
The fact it's not truly being concluded on more than 2 weeks before the first game says to me... A suspension at the minimum. Hard to see them saying "Here's your team back... The same team you haven't been permitted to contact and you have one week for the opener." Don't agree w/a suspension, considering the details we've been privy to, but at this point seeing Urban stay is the ultimate hope.
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
Too much speculation at this point. So I'll add my 2 cents. I would expect the decision on Meyer will be much in line with the investigation/committee recommendations. Also, I would expect the committee, being largely composed of people that have had to make decisions in high profile cases, will not get turned around by some of the idiotic press opinion pieces that we have seen for the last few weeks.
Well this is fucking ridiculous !! I went out on a limb two weeks ago and predicted that Urban would be back at practice tomorrow .... Now this SOB committee has decided to gum up my prediction and delay the inevitable until next week ..... This is ridiculous - I made a prediction, so the least the committee could do was work within my time frame .... Insensitive bastards .....
Check his house any for sale signs in the lawn or moving vans in the drive? Where des he live anyway Dublin ???
Let this be done! Give us Urban! Stand back and watch the destruction begin, 15-0 baby!
If we are this anxious.. imagine how the team and the rest of the coaches feel. For the kids, they came here to play for one of, if not the best, top coaches in college. They did this because they believed in him and the program. This whole mess is so disturbing on so many levels. It certainly speaks to a larger societal problem that folks are guilty before proven innocent.. it's ok to smear someone without hard evidence for your own personal gain and I could go on and on.. Here's my truth.. I just want Urban back in his job and 9/1 to get here fast!
We didn't lose the game.. we just ran out of time. Vince Lombardi
Agree - The pc world we live in!
This whole thing is an crock of horseshit!
"I didn't get a harrumph outta that guy!"
Day's statement and OSU's announcement brought some light to an otherwise dreary day. Then McMurphy cratered the whole thing with his Zach Smith sex stuff. Dang.
The timing of McMurphy's newest horse crap reporting was, again, suspicious. As soon as we found out that the investigation would finish on Sunday, he drops that garbage. Does he think that the committee is going to break down his door asking for his stuff? What a loser.
Just read a headline that said Smith ordered $2,000 worth of sex toys to the Woody and took d*ck pics in the coaches office, among other places... First, if you're having a good d*ck day... take a pic, but secondly... who the hell cares what he buys, how much he spends, etc. As long as Sandusky or Nassar weren't around or involved with said pics, so what. I get on the Chive and see bored at work all day long... no one says a damn thing. Dude wants to take a pic in his office and they pin it on Meyer... like it's his problem... This is out of control!
Shit Happens Bum Juice
All of this stuff makes Smith look bad, so... what's new?
Sending toys to Woody Hayes Center? That definitely stupid, but the snake was probably avoiding sending it to his home because he didn't want his wife to know about it, and I'm guessing he also didn't want Meyer to know about it.
(BTW, you can bet this evidence came from Courtney Smith, who caught smith cheating).
Per having sex in the offices at OSU, again, it's Smith's misbehavior without proof that Meyer knew about it, which is critical. Whether anybody likes it or not, other employees have probably had sex on campus, but without evidence that bosses knew, it's more salacious empty calories.
The same goes for taking wienie selfies at the White House. It tells us that Zach Smith was an immature dick, but yet again, without evidence than Meyer and others knew about this and did nothing, it's a super dumb but private indiscretion made in a public place (call me crazy, but I'm guessing that Zach didn't publish that pic on the Internet.
More likely, this is something that Courtney Smith probably discovered and with which she confronted her idiot husband. Where else would McMurphy get this evidence?
In other words, what we've supposedly "learned" from McMurphy's latest report is that Smith was as immature and irresponsible as we already thought he was. We learned nothing.
At some point, maybe McMurphy can report something that's actually relevant.
Meanwhile, the main way that this is relevant is that you can totally understand why Courtney Smith wanted a vendetta against he ex and the university. However, that still doesn't equal evidence physical abuse or Urban Meyer looking the other way against the alleged abuse.
I keep hearing Frank Sinatra sing "My Way" in my head every time I think of this investigation. Maybe I'm just cracking up.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
You really think this tabloid shit will go anywhere and even if it were true what the hell does any of that have to do with UFM and OSU? Bat shit crazy woman and POS Mcturdy are the sources of this.
"Because I couldn't go for 3"
What makes the nervous is Drake caving in and firing Meyer bc of the “how could u have this guy on your staff” outrage.
This just makes McMurphy look like an idiot tabloid writer who can't be taken seriously. If this is the absolute stupid garbage he posts as news, then nothing he writes should be taken seriously. I think his unrestrained ego and desperation to be relevant has just done him in.
What's the implication? Wild sex parties hosted by Zach Smith right under Urbans nose?
Zach Smith was immature and creepy. Report on something we don't know. He's been fired. Nothing to see here.
McMurphy has definitively proven he is irrelevant.
So basically what they’re saying is we’re going to have to wait another week for the actual announcement. This shit will literally never end.
Anyone else seeing these Amazon orders Zach Smith allegedly ordered ... ? LOL
More disturbing revelations in Ohio State saga: @WatchStadium reports in 2015 Zach Smith had sex toys/male apparel ordered & sent to him at Woody Hayes Athletic Center, OSUs football offices. Smith also took nude photos including at the White House in '15 https://t.co/MyqawmGTJC
— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) August 17, 2018
holy shit is she vindictive.
"you know what would really show everyone? if when my kids googled their dad's names, sex toys was a relevant result"
(EDIT: also, remember when she said she was going to take the "high road"?)
McMurphy is a desperate POS. While this ‘news’ looks ridiculous, what does it have to do with anything at this point? Zach is already fired. Should we fire him again Brett?
i predict McMurphy is going to have Buckeye Nation digging for dirt or embarrassing things about him. The whole thing is just stupid.
yeah this is incredibly discrediting. i haven't looked much into it, but i can't imagine it comes from any source other than courtney knowing zach's amazon password (or that they shared an account). Brett McMurphy is now just courtney smith's shit-posting megaphone
CORRECTION: it appears Courtney is not the source of these leaks. Looks like McMurphy is getting tips from anonymous twitter.
All the news that's (not) fit to print. Inquiring minds want to know.
And what does this have to do with Urban reporting abuse at OSU?
How is Urban supposed to be privy to what Zach did (and prob did not do) in a nice washroom in DC?
I guarantee McMurphy is getting "tips" alright
If this results in unjust punish for others at OSU, the alumni should take all monies set to be donated in 2019 and start a fund to crawl up this POS bum for any dirt in his life.....wonder what a several million could find?
I read that on social media. A bigger and more vile hunk of crap than we thought. He makes Urban look more foolish (for undying loyalty) every f'ing day.
Really need some smart guy to publish extra embarrassing immaterial info about BM
Well, when things turned sour and Tressel had not resigned, we knew Meyer is next. I can't say whom is next. Unless Day gets it done this year. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
I think we need to find someone to start digging into McMurphy private life like he thinks is appropriate to do about every one. I’m sure we will all find some things not so good. This guy just can’t let go he will do anything in his power to destroy Meyer and ZS life.
I wonder if you copy and paste that full link posted with his order details if it has his credit card info in it? I question if obtaining and posting this is even legal?
Only problem with that is - when you find something - no one will care - he is just a dirt bag reporter.
I've found these disturbing texts from McMurphy. I have zero evidence that proves this is real, but it's 100% accurate. Who needs proof these days anyway?
Tom Brady lost to John Cooper. Never forget.
I am physically, mentally and emotionally drained from all of this. I've been up, down, happy and sad. And I'm still standing by my statement Urban Meyer will be our coach this year. I put my life on it and take it to the bank.
The last stuff is a joke ( sick ) but nothing to do with football ! Could you imagine if your boss , employees or family knew your personal stuff ( wow ) [Comment edited for violating the comment policy] As for the committee they’ve already made up their mind they know what they’re doing, they will tell the University probably Monday, university will released openly just after that. And I also agree that urban Meyer is 100% our coach. This story has moved so far away from the original concern it’s pathetic !
This investigation is taking way too long. I'm sick of this bs. I think the whole thing is a sham and Brett Mcmurphy is a scum bag who is out to destroy urban meyer. I'm a huge Ohio State football fan and if they fire Meyer over this I'm not attending another football game for years.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s hilarious that ZS took dick pics in the white house? That’s incredible. I’m dying of laughter.
can we start organizing the first annual "send brett mcmurphy a dildo" drive?
Why just annual? There are 365 days in a year, and most of them have mail delivery.
well i think one big thrust would be more impactful than a slow dribble
I'll be listening to Hooley and Spielman on Monday morning. I want to know if Bruce Hooley considers Zach's dick pics and sexual proclivities to be discussion worthy after telling us that discussing Courtney's credibility issues would be going, "Too far into the weeds." Talk about minutia as it relates to Meyer's involvement. How the fu&k would Urban Meyer know if Zach Smith was taking photos of his crank at the White House, or any house for that matter, or ordering sex toys and having them delivered to the WHAC? If this is true, and I guess it probably is, then all it proves is that Zach Smith is as immature and stupid as many of us considered him to be during his twitter spat heyday. Does anyone think Zach said, "Hey, Urban, I'm gonna order some stuff from Lion's Den, take a few dick pics in front of Archie's Heismans, and then I'm gonna head home and beat the holy dog snot out of the wife... ok?" To which Urban replied, "Sure, buddy... I don't give a rat's ass. Have fun." This is embarrassing, and Meyer's apparently a REALLY bad judge of character, but if he followed protocol then none of this matters despite Courtney Smith, Brett McMurphy, and much of the media desperately wanting it to.
i sure hope this committee has more sense than the CFP committee
Who want's to be average.......ta Hell with that.
It has become more hard to believe Urban did not know what he was dealing with. Zack Smith is. sick person that did whatever he wanted and disrespected Ohio State for years.I am sure he knew of something. We now have to fire both of them because otherwise our hands are dirty.. I don’t know how we recover from this unless we do.
Urban had a blind eye towards Zach, who has now been belatedly fired. It’s not reason to fire Urban. Just seems ridiculous to me that this is being suggested
I’m guessing the Meyer family knows the answer per the the daughter’s -Gigi I think- enthusiastic instagrams. The committee is just doing their due diligence. No one should complain this it wasn’t a thorough investigation
Banks of olentangy
Seriously, who cares about Smith's sex toys. Who cares if he taking wild pictures. A lot of people have sex toys delivered at alternate addresses. A lot of people do crazy stuff. And if it is not harming anyone- who cares. It's not like ZS took the toys out and was showing them off. Sheesh.
I say we all follow mcdipshit on twitter and all give him trash tweets on how pathetic of a journalist he is. Maybe links to sex toy websites for him.
What’s the response if it’s the committee’s decision to fire Meyer and not’s Drake.
Please tell me he didn’t shake Obama’s hand ! Yuk
OK, he did. One hand shakes the other.
Work and study this stuff. Drake is playing it right and, so long as his decision is well-founded upon this credible committee's findings, he will lead the school (and the program) out of this flaming cesspool.... Some of the people I've read don't have a sound view of the current atmosphere, which is still highly volatile, and obviously have forgotten the LOIC lessons of several years ago.
Hockey Men & Women's
I'm hoping that the investigators did a very thorough job, because they know that when they announce that Meyer will not lose his job, and when they produce overwhelming evidence that Courtney and Zach Smith are both messed up, people will be angry. So there decision is going to be supported by tons and tons and tons of documentation, evidence, interviews with everyone involved.
And the bottom line will be... it's a stinky mess but it's not an OSU mess and it most definitely is not an Urban Meyer mess.
It's TMZ stuff to be sure. But Meyer will get a 2-game suspension, donate some fine money to some family counseling charities and that will be it.
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
Is that a picture or Clint Eastwood or Urban Meyer?
It started with simply dropping a child off at home, which of course led to sex toys and adult pictures.
The two most important days in ones life is when you're born and when you find out why you were born. We were born to be champions. - TyLue
I do love the football team, but I love the university more. We shouldn't sacrifice the integrity of the latter for the temporary advantage of the former.
Wahoo! Wahoo! Rip, Zip, Bazoo! I Yell. I Yell. For O.S.U.
Then let's just institute the death penalty for the football program and move on? Oh wait, the school would lose a lot of money if that happened. Same thing if they fire Urban for unjust cause, develop a bad reputation with any future coaches because of it, and turn what was once an elite program into what Tennessee is now. Also, would cost the University large amounts of money.
I'm just glad this isn't a shitshow. And, the math is off, investigation will be concluded in 2 weeks. But, then another week for them and recommendations, then undertermended amount of time for Drake decision.
"Let's Roll", Todd Beamer, Flight 93, 9/11
Could this mess get any more *ucked up? Makes OSU look worse every day with this crap. Let it end now. Keep Urban and move on. Courtney is a trainwreck and Zach too.
Trainwreck and dumpster fire are interchangeable.
Meanwhile, OSU has only won one championship since Zach Smith was there, but he has 4 rings...
Right, and he's ordering ex-large, must be for his boyfriends. I'm starting to believe his ex might be vindictive. Lock your phones guys.
This board if Urban gets serious sanctions: “Two weeks wasn’t enough to come to that conclussion”
This Board if no sanctions are handed down: “It took two weeks to come to that conclusion? I could have told you before the investigation began what the outcome was! Investigation was a waste of time and money!”
Ohio State better do the right thing or I'm done with them.
Pres. Drake as the decider makes me nervous because of Jon Woods. A student who was sexually assaulted makes him aware of it, he immediately follows procedure and assists in the assailant being charged and expelled and continues to reach out and offer support to the young woman. Her mom, angry at the school still after some time passes for the fact that it happened, raises a stink about the bawdy history of the band. Woods, who has it recorded in his job evaluations that he has done a lot to change the culture, is still fired.
The facts of the case that have been made known offer nothing that merits firing, in my opinion. But history suggests Drake might decide to, anyways.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
I really want this to end, but I am starting to get a sinking feeling. I have a growing fear that someone is going to get canned for having this guy remaining on the staff and it sure seems Meyer is most at risk to be that person. Ultimately he is the one who is paid the big bucks to make sure the football program is an asset to the University and not an embarrassment. Seems unlikely he passed all this crap up the chain of authority and no one acted on it. I have my fingers crossed, but I am bracing for disappointment.
In ten minutes it’s Sunday.
Is it possible to think that Courtney Smith ordered the sex toys and had them purposely delivered to Ohio state, kept the emails, to hold as extortion?
Just saying. Maybe the emails were obtained legally, maybe it was a made up email account that she had access to. Just find it all very convenient.
So let me get this straight, Joe Pa knows about his coaches abusing kids and gets to keep his job but Urban knows about Smith's wife's accusations (which might be bogus), reports it and may lose his job. Stupidity at its best.
I wish people understood that OSU had NO duty of care to CS--she was not a student, guest of a student, employee of OSU or guest of an employee of OSU.
Urban has already been punished way more than he should have--almost a 3 week suspension of practice. This is crazy.
MSU KEPT with NO punishment a basketball and football coach that had players that committed sexual assaults on actual STUDENTS at MSU.
Bucks fans in Mass
Seriously, where does UFM go to get his '3 weeks without his team' back?
On another note, Scott Rabalais is one piece of work (writes for the Baton Rouge Advocate). Check out this link, paragraph 15 under the Drake Davis photo it will have you jumping out of your chair: https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_d82d40b6-a343...
