Forget what it’s called but there’s a thread that pops up every couple months with a map and everyone’s locations manually added to it
Reston, VA, by the way
Great idea and it has a map even.
But I can't find it.
I thought I would provide a tabulation when this is done of how many where.
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall. (F. Scott Fitzgerald)
Dropped this at the bottom of the thread as well.
"The magic word's rock n' roll, Man!"
I followed the link, Chaddie, and it says the map is "frozen." Why? Because you can only have 100 inputs for free, and then you have to pay. Would someone like to bankroll this?

In the poll era (since 1936), OSU is by far the class of the B1G:
National Titles: OSU 8, UM 3
B1G Titles: OSU 34, UM 27
Head-to-head: OSU 43, UM 36
Major Bowls (New Year's Six): OSU 20-14, UM 10-16

"just a guy, nothing more, nothing less" ~ Some troll then *poof* he was gone
UES is totally doable. I looked at Yorkville (near Gracie Mansion) once and decided I would rather swallow hot coals than move there.
I'm well familiar with Yorkville lived for 5 years. Give me the quiet neighborhood feel of East End drive - 1st Ave any day of the week. Great German restaurant and Bakery with equidistant walking to great parks. That's what's great about NYC, there's something for everyone I'm certainly not going to crap on Union Square - great markets but a bit too much for my taste. (Except Olde Good things - great antique store).
Nothing wrong with the location or the mood of the neighborhood. At the time, I just wasn't willing to go through the extra laps around the obstacle course that is trying to secure approval from the co-op board. LOL. Like you said, a few of the good things about Union Square is the greenmarket and the antique shop. And, great location.
You had me at extra laps and co-ops. Anyways let's take this conversation back to the masses.

Oh, ya gotta go where they tell you too. I could imagine postings a little worse than this. Good luck and get back home soon.
I wanna go back to Ohio state to ole Columbus town. I got a nice little bonus going to try take leave around thanksgiving time and go to the game and take mom. I took her to her first game two years ago to the game. Told her wanted to make it a tradition and that would be her Christmas presents forever. So that’s the plan.
My tradition is taking my sons to the Spring Game. We occasionally get to other games but all of our birthdays are within a month of the Spring Game so we have done it for the last 4 years. With us so spread out now and them being adults with their own lives to live it gets much harder to get together but that is the perfect time for us to meet up with no family pressures that the holidays tend to bring.
And its the only time I am going to be able to afford to buy tickets on the 40 yard line and sit where the other half sit during the regular season!
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Williams County to South Korea is quite a move!
Joey Bosa eats $2 steaks for breakfast.
Yeah quite different here. But the food rocks and soju is pretty good. Other then they are on record this year for the hottest summer. The heat sucks. But other than that it’s pretty awesome
Wow, another 11W overseas.

I kind of like it here, my wife and her family are from here.
Did you have Mr. Bellas for history?
yes I did
Santa Rosa, FTW. Love that area. I hope you weren't too impacted lasted October.
In Fairfield/Vacaville myself.
Been to Vacaville many times on business. Lovely part of the country and I always look forward to the trip. Hope you are safe from the current fires! Shitty situation and hoping for the best for all of you folks out there.
The Solano County area has definitely grown on us. At first we were a bit "meh" but we've grown to enjoy it. What at first was expected to be a temporary stay looks like it's indefinite. Love the region (less the fires, which are the new normal) and we lucked out with the new Amtrak train station which connects us to the Bay and Sacramento. It'll would have to be a very compelling reason to get us to think about leaving.
We're safe from the fires, but the smoke has been around for about 2 weeks now.
I used to enjoy water skiing at Lake Berryessa and Ukiah, and swimming in Clear Lake. Do you know what it's like at the lakes now?

Dont know of any onion plants, but there are a ton of fields around here growing fruit, vegetables and nuts.
Susuin, the old Native American word for "windy as f#(k"
Suisun was ALWAYS windy to be sure. There was an onion processing plant in Vacaville in 1979 out near the prison. You could smell those onions all the way to Travis AFB front gate.....lol

I think the Wheelersburg little league team won something important tonight if I understood all the Facebook chatter correctly.
Yeah, the 11-12 year old girls softball team won their opener in the softball LLWS.
I went to high school in Wheelersburg! A long, long time ago, though. I’ve been in Columbus since 1980.
Well compared to the past few years, my Buckeye Trees are producing a small amount of Buckeyes, this year. Might only collect 40 or so this year.
I don't know why, but guessing the lack of rain, for the majority of summer, up in Wood County, Ohio , has something to do with it.
Not seeing many buckeyes on trees here in Marysville OH either.
Buckeye necklaces are going to be $20 this year.

Born and raised in Cbus, been here all my life except when I "flew a desk" in the military. Now reside in a small suburb currently in the news...Powell.
Oh, what happened in Powell? It’s such a quiet small town. Hope everyone is ok.
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
Powell PD are heavily involved in the ZS investigation as they carry the records to the 2015 incident (where no arrest was actually made which they recently revealed). McMurphy has basically accused them in his piece of being involved in a cover-up to protect Urban since Cbus is a "college footbaw town." It's a bunch of BS of course.
I think you missed his sarcasm.
Didn't see the sarcasm font so I didn't know it was sarcasm. My bad.
It’s ok Ds, but I would have had to been on mars the last ten days to have not known... considering the one or two threads on the topic here.

We got 109 coming today. Just moved here a few months ago. I won’t miss the rain.
I'm in Hayden/Coeur d'Alene, ID. It's 98 I think now. Looking at 103 tomorrow. I love our summers here but 103 is out of the ordinarily toasty.
Disappointed that my state isn't represented in DJ's map...I've been here on 11W and in Idaho a long time. Guess I missed that post.
Currently Meridian, Mississippi. Soon to be San Diego, California.
Appears to be a smart move, Toledoan.
Agreed. It’s been a rough stretch living in Mississippi.
Holy culture shock, Batman.
Yes. Similar to back to the future. Mississippi is like taking a step into 1978.
But the San Diego beaches should ease the shock. Surf the north beaches: Solano to Cardiff to Swamis to Moonlight to Beacons to Grandview...
So... where do you prefer to surf in Orange County?
I’m in south OC, so prefer to stay down this way. Church is my favorite break. Not as much of a crowd as Uppers or Lowers. Lately, I’ve been hitting Trails. Trail 1 to be specific. It’s a great break and it’s usually just a few others in the water.
You a wetsuit guy or has your Midwestern blood stayed thick?
I picked up a nice 4/3 Rip Curl Flashbomb Rip at their outlet in Santa Cruz for $200 a few weeks ago, debated getting a 3/2. The water is a bit "brisk" here when you first get in but I felt like I would be fine with my old 2/1 shorty when the air temp is warm. (Still have some Ohio in me)
I'm in the Philly 'burbs in South Jersey. Are you in Philly proper, Dee? There are several of us in the greater Philly area on 11W.

Are you in the UN peace keeping forces?
I’m in the Peace Corps.
I don’t see too many UN troops, but they are around. Still a good amount of KFOR- Italian, Croatian, Slovenian, etc. Also, there is an American military base in the country.
However, I believe it is mostly ceremonial. Kosovo is a safe country.
A better way to keep the peace

My family is from Elk Township in Noble County. Been to Marietta many times, and enjoyed all of my visits there. Nice town with some very nice people.
Born and raised in Toledo. Spent a decade in Columbus at tOSU and then working afterwards. My then g/f-now-wife dragged me to Philadelphia about 3 years ago; and now we live in Springfield PA, one of the burbs just west of Philly.
I did bring 4 Buckeye Trees that I grew from buckeyes I gathered out of the grove though. I've had them growing in pots for about 5-6 years now, planted one in my front yard this spring. You have no idea how many neighbors have asked if I was growing pot in my front yard....
Cincinnati, Ohio--home of the last place Reds! One reason I am counting the days to football.
And we'll be counting the days until baseball starts once the bengals are in week 8. Lmao!
Disappointed Since 1991...
Kind of limited in the number of Buckeyes here, but I rep as best I can.
Out of curiosity, how does one watch games there? Do you have to use VPN to circumvent the GFW?
That’s pretyy much the only way. And even VPN’s are not reliable as the government continues to shut them down. The GFW is a constant presence, in fact, just two days ago, I lost any ability to access the new Buckeye fan site called Lettermen Row.
Boca Raton, Florida
The world is yours
I tho't I'd win the furthest distance, but Buck298 is in Beijing. That's double the distance.
Well at least the climate is much nicer here.
I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Temperature here is comparable to Columbus, but, the air is a bit thicker shall we say. And I'm not talking about the humidity
With all the smoke around here theyve been using Beijing's air quality as a reference to ours. Many spots in the Sacramento Valley are hitting around 4x worse.
That is nuts.
Holy crap, that's bad. Here we use a pm2.5 standard. The WHO says anything up to 50 is OK, but there are occasional times when it gets to 500. Now I will say that it has been improving steadily over the last 10 years.
What standard are you using?
Same standard - it was over 500 in certain parts depending on the time of day, winds, etc...
I feel for you! It was like that here for much of last summer. Some mornings the cars looked like it has snowed overnight (covered with ash.) It's just hot so far this summer. (Knock-on-wood)
Soo, ironically I just got home because my subdivision was evacuated for a fire this evening. Gold Ridge in Fairfield and Vacaville burnt (right off of I-80) and it looks like some kf the newer houses on the edge got hit. Power is still out but we're back home now and not sure of how many houses got hit. Saw my first Firenado tonight so that was interesting. Now I get to unpack all our important possessions by headlamp.
It's all good though, our house is still where we left it.
Home of "The first team"! Outstanding!

We enjoy the Wailea resort just down the west coast from Kihei. Have you been to the Kula Lodge on the slopes of Haleakala?
No, as I have not been back in over 20 years. My father owned a restaurant in Wialea 85-95. The Sandcastle. Is it still there?
So what would you recommend for an Ohio farm boy in Hawaii?
Bluffton, SC AKA Southern Ohio
I stay outside of Louisville, ky, about 15 miles south down the Ohio, in a small rural town called Elizabeth Indiana. So small, I don’t always get cell reception and cable doesn’t exist here. It’s dish or it’s nothing. I frequent the public library. It’s definately a step backwards in time. I’ve lived here about 18 months. I enjoy waving to the old men lounging on an old van bench seat, outside of What I assume was once a gas station, located at the main stop sign in town, each day. Last but not least, I have to give my water meter reading when I pay the bill. I’m waiting to see Lassie on my porch one evening. Good people here however.

My place of employment is in Blue Bell, right off of Norristown Rd. near the little airport in Blue Bell.
Traffic is still not that bad off the main roads but I do not know how people do the daily commute into the city on the Schuylkill. Other than Atlanta have never been on a road like it where you can have a major traffic jam at midnight and there not be any reason like an accident for it.

Someone has probably done a study on it or something, but I bet you're more likely to go search out a website to shoot the shit if you're more separated from it in your everyday life. If you live in Columbus and have regular updates via the local news and coworkers and such you would probably have less of a need for 11W.
This is definitely true in my case... I don't know if I would say I'm a "bigger" fan now, but I'm probably a "better" fan now. I wear more Buckeye gear, and follow Buckeye news much closer the past 12 years since I've moved away from the Columbus area. Of course, in Columbus, it is always just fed to you, you don't have to seek it.
You're on here a lot, BrutusB, so given this theory, i would hypothesize that you are in Asia or Africa or the left coast? Am I right?

The man you see center in my profile pic was one of many that "led the charge" into the genesis of what caused the "crisis" at Kent St. ...

Stopped at the Cafe Du Monde drive through at 22 & Causeway a few months ago on the way back from Fountainebleu State Park.
Should have given me a shout. We could have tossed back an Abita.
Ride my bike through the park every Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Head north one time , south the other.
I have never stopped at the Northshore Cafe!
Should have, and hit up NOLABuckeye and a few others as well. This was a trip to the in-laws and didnt have too much room for real fun, other than the afternoon jaunt to Fountainbleaux (nothing says beach like an alligator pond and water at the shore so hot it can burn your feet) and a trip to Global Wildlife.
This is definitely where I parked my car.

Out of 181 comments in our rigorous statistical survey, there were 166 intelligible responses regarding current residence.
Not surprising, Ohio is No. 1 with 26%, or for some maybe 26% is surprisingly low.
The larger states of Florida, California and Illinois are next. However, the most populous states do not necessarily have the most 11W, with Texas and New York way down the list. See the summary below.
Nearby states, such as Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania are not well represented. And many states had a less-than 1% response, and many others had no response.
There were eight 11Wers overseas. This does not count the one from Ontario, Canada, but does include the one from Hawaii. The other foreign resident 11Wers were one each in China, England, Germany, Kosovo, South Korea, Sweden and Tanzania. The one in Tanzania clearly won the greatest distance from Columbus, Ohio based on air travel time.
