Let's get this TE to signing day!

See you in Indy!
WTF, why the dv's for the first couple of comments? I didn't see anything remotely close to violating the tos or negative? Are we being invaded by ttun or Bama fans?
Anyway, welcome aboard young man. Coach Wilson will be a great position coach to improve your stock as a TE/HB. Wilson has coached up guys with lesser talent to the league. Excellent choice for both parties.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
Though he was dealing with a sprained shoulder and had no ride to Columbus, Hamilton hopped on a Greyhound bus by himself in order to attend Friday Night Lights last month
Damn. This is who we want on our team! Welcome Cormontae...oh yeah, and BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting to look at his offer list. The 2 top dogs in CFB and a whole bunch of no ones (yes that includes TN and Ole Miss until they prove otherwise). Just shows recruiting services dont know everything and there’s a reason the top stay on top.
"He has that look in his eye when it's time to start feeding the beast" UFM on EZE
Yep, if those two schools are after the #30 TE, if I am a recruiting service I may just want to re-evaluate where I have this kid ranked.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
He will rise... TE is a hard position to judge in HS. That is why he after his workout for Saban is when they offered. Every school can't require a workout!
Not one of those dreaded 3 stars! (I'm kidding)
The 3 stars can be fixed. His measurements are 6'1" and 256 lbs. Is that a typo, or is he expected to grow a couple of inches?

6' 1" is surprising. Preference is 6' 5".
Welcome young man. Make the most out of this opportunity. Work really hard every day and develop your game.
You'll have to check with his doctor.

In his video he sure looked taller that 6' 1". Unless all the other kids were really short.

Welcome, big fella!
That's a big dude moving fast down the field.
When Mick's had him in the gym, he's going to be an absolute boulder going downhill.

They had him running Go routes. Hard to believe he only had 9 catches. Throw that kid the ball. Let's see if we can get him in the top 200 so the commentariat feels better about it :)
He's making catches in traffic. Over-the-middle and in traffic. I like.

My two favorite things from his highlights
1. That sick block at :50
2. The electric Dorito animation wherever he lined up
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Doritos doesn’t start sponsoring.

15-1 is SWEET!
Congratulations to Cormontae Hamilton.
Never heard of the kid until now, welcome aboard young man!!
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
Was he recruited as a TE? Dude is only 6’1” don’t see that being overly productive
Hopefully this will be the only time the two are compared, but Aaron Hernandez was only 6-1, and he was unstoppable. Plus I think OSU likes to have a TE or two on the roster who are primarily for blocking. Don't know anything about this kid to pigeon-hole him, but from what's been batted about recently it sounds like that might be his role at first.
Good call on that comparison, I forgot Hernandez was not that tall. Also good: hoping that this is the only comparison between them
Hernandez was also the #1-ranked TE and a freak athlete. I don't know too much about this guy, but it seems like their height is the only thing that can be compared.
Sure, but the point is 6-1 doesn't doom you at TE. It'd be unusual for sure, but it's not impossible. Does everybody want a 6-5 QB throwing all over the stadium? Sure. But then you have Brees and Wilson who are the exceptions. Not saying this kid will be, just saying we don't know he won't be.
I think 3 years from now they'll throw him in at HB, and he'll be the one who throws a key block for Teague on 3rd-and-1 that helps us seal the National Championship game against Bama.
BG, this young man is pretty athletic in his own right. The highlight reel shows some very nice catches where he had to go after the ball like a wideout. My gut says his stock rises before he graduates HS. Wouldn't be surprised if he grades out at 4-stars.
What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!
I don’t think him being 6-1 matters much at all (as a pro prospect sure), but Hernandez was actually 6-2 1/2 in socks.
Delanie Walker has been a great NFL TE for years and he’s actually barely 6-1, so it’s not totally insane.
I think he fits the mold of the typical Buckeye blocking TE..
Oklahoma's TE/H Dmitri Flowers was 6'1 250 and tore the Bucks a new one last year.
Never heard of her.

That is awesome. Gotta love a kid the makes things happen despite the obstacles before him.
Amen. He may become a favorite very fast.
That Greyhound trip is no small thing. Few things are as tedious as a trip on a Greyhound. Events forced me into getting home that way once. After the 5th or 6th stop, I swore to never take another bus trip in my life. Thankfully, I have not been stuck in that situation again. I'm glad it panned out for the young man.
Came to say the same thing. Seems like a good and hardworking kid
That is awesome. Gotta love a kid the makes things happen despite the obstacles before him.
Did he have to go back to the bus station after Friday Night Lights? Or did he stay overnight—legally?
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
Have to wonder if the staff might see him at another position, a bit short for a TE at 6'1"and 256 lbs too. Love to see how the best teams don't care about some mythical high school star/ranking system. Alabama and OSU fighting for someone ranked #930 tells you what the REAL experts think about a player. Too bad the fans don't always understand that.
Maybe he will be more of that 'Big H-Back' that Urban has talked about in recent years. That Jalen Hurd kid was being looked at for this.
Kid is a weapon no matter where you put him. His blocking on film looks good. He can seal and then has the speed to get to the next level and help downfield. Pretty amazing athlete from the looks of it.
Fortune favors the bold.
Boom! Ranking aren't always right but I'll still take a top 100 player any day of the week.

What day is this?
For real though
Looking on my phone, and this girl looks so much like someone I work with, I had to zoom in to make sure (it's not her).
Hamilton really wanted to be a Buckeye. In fact, he paid $289 for a 12-hour trip to Columbus on a Greyhound to work out and get an offer during Friday Night Lights.
— Andrew Lind (@AndrewMLind) July 27, 2018
why stars arent everything. welcome aboard!
agreed. And this kid won't be a 3-star for long based on his film. He is an impressive athlete.
A $289 investment to earn a scholly from TOSU and everything that will go with it for the rest of his life. Especially when he knew we were looking at 2 TEs for one spot this cycle. Sounds like a good use of money to me. Welcome aboard.
This. Favorite commit so far. Some kids parents have all the money in the world to promote them and they get ranked higher. If Urban recruits first on character, which I agree makes the biggest difference in performance, then this is an awesome commit. Welcome aboard, we want you.

2nd Boom for most of us this week - but you and BN20 are celebrating your 3rd.
Probably my favorite commit of this class because he was hurt, paid 300 bucks and took a bus 12 hours to fro to earn a scholarship.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
a hurry up the other day had a picture of him with Meyer...and he was as tall if not taller than Meyer. so maybe the 6-1 listed isn't accurate. rivals has him at 6-3 for whatever that is worth.
It appears he measured 6-foot-2 at the Nike Regional in Nashville in April. I just list what 247Sports has.
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
LOL. I always get a kick out of that gif. Lets hit some explosives with a big ol sledgehammer. What could possible go wrong.
I don't know why, but I enjoy watching that crazy gif too
hey y'all. Watch this

The Tennessee to Columbus pipeline continues! Sorry Clay Travis LOL !!!
Kid looks like a monster on the field.
THIS. He WANTED to be a Buckeye. Props to him.
I would've sent a check but I already sealed up the envelope...
Those are the one's you feel good about. Not that we all don't feel good about all the recruits we have so far. But to go to such great trouble means something.
How did some of you not hear about third kid. He’s been discussed many times here and his documented bus trip?
I’m rooting for the kid big time!
Right. I wrote about him just three days ago lol
Blame Zach Smith
I heard about it but was just hoping his offer was commit-able
Love a Friday afternoon BOOM to start the weekend off correctly. Welcome, big fella, and congratulations!
Gotta love a kid that worked his butt off and traveled on his own dime to just to have the chance to be a Buckeye.
Welcome to the Buckeye family, Cormontae! Enjoy every minute of your academic and athletic experience in Columbus.
Reminds me a bit of Rosie Nix, the Pro Bowl fullback for the Steelers (from Reynoldsburg, Ohio).
Looks taller than 6’1” in his highlights. What you see is a banger who can block. Very athletic for his stocky build so he’s able to be effective blocking in the slot. Soft hands. And I think you have someone who isn’t selfish. He won’t need the ball in his hands to be happy. He might prefer to pancake a defender. And you need football players like that.
The only real issue is height.
he is just going into his senior year so it is quite possible he'll grow a couple more inches before college.
6'1 = leverage in blocking in a tight 3rd down or goal line set.
He's 260+..he'll end up being 6'2 280 and even faster in 2 years.
Great 3rd down weapon blocking, running or receiving

Everybody wants to be heard, and the easiest way to be the loudest is to be the hater
This kid definitely has a motor.
I like the first clip of his highlight tape where he just stiff-arms the defender into the ground. He makes good catches and blocks aggressively in the run game. I'm looking forward to what he can do at OSU.
Welcome to Buckeye Nation. Glad to see his excitement to be a part.
Where is home? Live in LA (Lower Alabama). Covington County.
Lived outside Detroit for 11 years. LA is A TOUGH PLACE:) compared to Detroit, Tough to be a BUCKEYE in these areas.
“Show me a good loser...and I’ll show you a loser.”
Think about having Ruckert for 3 years then this kid as probably his backup and then to step in for him when he leaves early for the NFL. How can you not like a kid built like this who does all of that on his own to prove to the staff he wants to be a Buckeye?
Hamilton is a perfect choice. He won't sit behind Ruckert, he will compliment him.
A big strong, athletic blocking TE that has the hands of a WR.
Gonna be a great short yardage guy in the power run game and 3rd downs and around the goal line.
Great pick up!!!
Though he was dealing with a sprained shoulder and had no ride to Columbus, Hamilton hopped on a Greyhound bus by himself in order to attend Friday Night Lights last month.
Now that's some effing dedication. He wanted the offer bad, and I'm glad the staff obliged. The kind of kid you really want to root for.

BOOM! I've been a fan of Cormontae from the time I first saw his tape. He is athletic, has great hands, and after following his story seems to be a high character young man. Who's got it better than us?! Go Bucks!
By far the most intriguing recruit in this class, IMHO. A couple of thoughts:
1. His leverage, physicality, and blocking will get him on the field in a lot of different packages.
2. If he shines, the Greyhound story will be a staple for announcers everywhere.
Adds some great diversity to the tight ends room with Ruckert. Boom!!
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
If Urbz has no problem with a 6'0" TE, then I have no problem with a 6'0" TE. Welcome aboard big fella. My guess is that 6'1" is his BULLSHIT height as opposed to his ACTUAL height. I usually subtract and inch or two from heights and .1 to.2 from their 40 times to find out how tall and fast a player ACTUALLY is. Unless they played for Bobby Bowden back in the 90s in which you can throw all those measurements out the window because he clearly pulled them all out of his ass.
Not sure if you saw above, but may be closer to 6'2".
It MAY be his height or it may be another variant of a bullshit height. Bullshit heights and 40 times are pretty sneaky on those recruiting sites. It always amazes me how 6'2" 4.4 guys go to the NFL combine and suddenly turn into 6'0" 4.6 guys. Either way if UFM is cool with him then so am I.
Picture of he and Meyer in a hurry up earlier this week. Meyer is taller than 6-1.
Welcome to the family Mr. Hamilton! I like seeing odd sized prospects earn offers b/c it means their skill, athleticism, and productivity erase any doubts in the staff's mind.
Kinda reminds me of Noah Brown a little bit.
I loved that show.
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
6'1" tight end?
Delainie Walker making NFL bank for years.
Dallas Clark looked like he was about 4’2” and he was the man for a few years with the Colts.
Surprised they took a te in a down year at that position. So they see something and that should close that position. So it's getting close to be very selective now. A couple receivers, Harrison and a couple oline gets you at 20.. Maybe a couple db's a dt puts us at 23. I read they might be in the market for a kicker if they do maybe a gray shirt who knows.
Could use him as an H Back / TE in any blocking scenario...maybe even a pseudo fullback in a two back set. Dude will be a sledge hammer...glad to have him onboard. And sounds like a old school baller...got on a bus dinged up to chase his dream. Sometimes stars don’t mean s#*t.
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
Welcome, Cormontae Hamilton!
Funny - when you first see three stars, your excitement sorta drops a bit... then you look at the offer schools and see Bama... you gotta know that Urban and staff know how to evaluate talent and they're not wasting a roster spot on an athlete they don't think is good enough to contribute! Then you think of all the three star recruits that turned into awesome players... and the excitement returns! Welcome aboard young man!!!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
There are things that you can measure, ht, wt, speed, vertical jump, but the biggest measurement that is hard to dictate is heart. The sacrifices he made to get to Friday Night Lights and the work he put into to gain an offer to The Ohio State University shows me he has heart. Welcome from Buckeye Nation. Go Bucks
Any recruit that travels on a Greyhound to visit TOSU in hopes of a scholarship becomes my favorite player immediately. Welcome Cormontae. Looking forward to watching you have an awesome career!!!
I just can’t get the dee Reynolds scene out of my head.
”hate the bus! Hate the bus!”
247 has him listed as 6'2" / 263 pounds. Every inch and pound helps!
Hamilton is a perfect choice.
So many on here are worried about his height? It's not like he's 5'9" trying to play TE, there have been plenty of really successful 6'1" to 6'3" TE's. Not only that but Wilson and Meyer evaluated him, and they offered him a scholly, obviously it was a commutable offer to, so they must believe in the young man. If they do, so should we.
He may not be the same kind of TE Ruckert is, but thats ok, actually thats good, because we already have Ruckert. Hamilton gives us a big bodied guy who will fit many packages that Ruckert may not. Plus if you actually watch his film Hamilton is very athletic for his size, and he catches the ball well.
Trust the staff, trust Urban! Congratulations young man, welcome to the Buckeyes!
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!
Someone above put it best: this kid is a tough-as-nails blocker who will complement Ruckert, who is going to be our receiving tight end.
Great get for all of the reasons given.
A joy which death alone can still.

Congratulations and welcome aboard.
That's a Buckeye touchdown!
