wasn't he (Dionte) related to Pepper?
Used to work with a lady who knew him. Always spoke very highly of him. Good to see that he's doing well and still involved

Dionte is the son of Buckeye great, Pepper Johnson
This, list not as full as some of the others. But you sure can't argue those featured.
Gwinn is such a sad story, way too young!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Would have rather seen this award given to Johnson or Gurd. They had solid careers and Gwinn was drunk (BAC .11) and could have killed Adams when he was killed.
Yours is a candid reaction, but, I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt especially given his age and all what and whom he was responding to and for. As a student I did just as the same thing, but luckily no incident, and I was four or five years older. You have a friend in a very bad way and you're the best, fastest response. I'd do it all again.
Chop it down with the edge of my hand
I’d most likely have done the same thing as Gwynn. I just don’t see Gwynn’s football accomplishments exceeding some other #49 players who didn’t almost kill someone. Obviously, Gwynn paid the price for his decisions that night...one admirable decision and one illegal.
That's certainly a fair opinion regarding accomplishments. For me, I read the name today and got that sick feeling all over again even before dredging up the event. It was a horrible feeling that washed over everyone. A good guy, with a very bright future. I always wonder how most of us survive ourselves.
*Probably should plug Raymont, here--that bowl performance was incredible.
I didn't hear of Gwinn's passing until the following spring (was active duty), remember calling my uncle to talk some spring Buckeye news and him mentioning the young man's passing.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
Johnson- another in the long line of Eastmoor Warriors at Ohio State
Gwinn's news is so sad for all involved. Thanks for the details Matt !!
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
