Kudos to Jarrett for: 1) knowing the proper name 2) using cursive.

Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

He might as well get used to it-new Ohio law passed mandated cursive be taught in all schools!

1) Fresno State?  One of these things is not like the other ones...courtesy tip of the cap to the home-towners I guess.

2) You don't see many guys who play D-Line and also run the 100...impressive.

They have Jeff Tedford now though. Dude has plenty of cred when it comes to offense. Guys like Aaron Rodgers and Beast Mode come to mind.

Fresno State had a fun to watch, brutally tough team under Coach Pat Hill during the late 90's and early 2000's.

Their special teams were ferocious.

Milton is from Clovis, CA. It's a suburb of Fresno, so it's basically his hometown school.

EDIT:  Which you already said.  I need to learn to read. My bad.  lol

Go Bucks!

HS

It's always good when a big time recruit shows respect to a hometown program that isn't on the same level as the rest of the schools he is considering.

Getting more excited about the 2020 class versus 2019.   Recruiting timeline has definitely been pushed up

Recruiting has gotten out of hand. Not sure who is benefitting. The kids get more time to visit schools and make informed decisions.

But I have a question on the non-commitable offers versus true offers.

Offers going out to 7th and 8th graders???

I guess there are enough guys hired to do all this work. A cottage industry is now big business.

Lets just blame it on the Internet.

Gives us guys fun fodder during the offseason. (When we should be out cutting the grass and pulling weeds)

Here's what an offer to an 8th grader looks like:

"...if they miss on Zach Harrison."

Whattttt

HS

hopefully the latter comment of (and I paraphrase) 'if they opt for three at the position'.

Nice prospect, but in all fairness, I'd rather have Harrison...

Well, we can always panic lol. Hate reading stuff like this in The Hurry Up because it's hard not to read comments like those as a bit of foreshadowing by an insider..

HS

Lol come on, how many times have we read about other back up plans for literally every other position in case plan A goes somewhere else, but the one time he mentions a back up plan for Harrison people loses their minds. The PTSD Jackson Carmen created for some of you is cringe worthy.

HS

JACKSON CARMEN WHYYY.

Lol seriously though, this is the first time I recall an 11W recruiting analyst wavered on their confidence with Carmen.

Great stuff guys!!!!

Losing Carman to the Dabo circus is one thing, but missing out on Harrison to......THAT CANNOT HAPPEN!!!

Carmen, with his attitude, could be a sinking ship... we got the best athlete and the best person NPF!!!

The Ohio State University football team will be just fine if a certain local prospect opts to get away to another school for college. One recruit, although a freakish athlete, will not define the product on the field as the standard will never change under UFM. Go Bucks!

Don’t kid yourself. Losing a hometown boy would be HARD to swallow and get over.

HS

Maybe for you. Don't kid yourself, not everyone would be emotionally devastated.

HS
CTownBucknut's picture

I fall somewhere in the middle.  I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but it would be really disappointing to miss on Harrison, far more-so than Carman.  Carman wasn't in OSU's backyard, and he seemed to really want to spread his wings and get away.  IMO Carman leaving the Cincy area to go to Clemson is far different than Harrison leaving his backyard to go to Michigan.  I also think it's far less likely OSU gets an equal or better player at DE if they miss on Harrison the way they got NPF instead of Carman.

HS
Bucks19's picture

Cdub- don’t kid yourself. For me, the WHOLE staff and many of us who follow recruiting. This would be a HUGE loss. Sorry.

HS
Buctor's picture

OSU, Coach Meyer, and his staff just keep the school and their complete program in front of these young men.  They may miss on one they want once in awhile, but even some of the misses likely aren't.  Both 19 and 20 are looking to be on par with their norm.

As people keep posting, what a time to be a Buckeye!

Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!

HS

Agree 100%.

I like all of Urbans classes.

The bitch is schools like Georgia and Clemson who historically have been good, seldomly great...now have a slight advantage as they have coaches who are winning (and they have better weather).

First time I’ve seen anything on Milton. By the look of things, defenses don’t see much of him either. As he runs away from them. Doesn’t look as big as listed but has impressive speed.

But I guess he plays in a tall HS conference.

I like when our commits are recruiting other guys... makes me feel better about the possibility of flipping. tOSU flips a lot of guys to the good guys. I'd hate to see anybody flip from us. Especially Miller III

HS

Is there a recruit that wouldn't put TOSU in his top 10?

HS
Hovenaut's picture

A higher rated recruit, within reasonable distance to Columbus?

Without sounding smarmy (which is a fancy word for saying one is full of one's self), I'd say no.

I think that's just a reflection of Ohio State's elite status as a major college football power at a world class university.

I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...

Milton reminds me of Eric Dickerson and Gayle Sayers. Pretty good company I'd say.

Great call on the Sayers comparison. I see the same focus on pad level with both of them; they keep excellent balance at all times.

The kids the real deal

HS

After watching his film again...(because of pad level as you mentioned ) he looks smaller. And his pad level is better than Eric Dickerson who ran "high"

The kid is well coached. And his natural ability is evident.

He'll make his own mark in the next 10 years both in college and the Pro's

Does that mean our second RB should be a white guy who's style of play is reminiscent of Craig James and Brian Piccolo?

...I'd be all for that. James had a great college career at SMU and Piccolo played in the League.

My guess is that Cali...has players. From both big towns and small.

I watch the other athletes on the field. They looked HS size and athletic.

Pretty good-Concord DeLa Salle plus all the other big schools in the Fresno area http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/buchanan-bears-(clovis,ca)/football/schedule.htm

HS
65 Toss Power Trap's picture

DeLasalle won 150 games in a row if I'm not mistaken. And they are not a flash in the pan. The Spartans have won huge over Decades.

From Wiki: "De La Salle High School has a strong football tradition. The team, when coached by Bob Ladouceur, holds the national record 151-game winning streak spanning from 1992 to 2004, more than doubling the previous record of 72. The streak ended when they were defeated on September 4, 2004, by Bellevue (Washington) High School, outside Seattle.[4] De La Salle finished the 2007 football season 13-0 and as state champions. In 2009 De La Salle defeated Crenshaw 28-14 to win the state title again.[5]"
