Higgins is a beast at WR. No tape I have seen can compare to his physical and punishing play. He is unique. I really hope we can land him.
Reminds me of David Boston.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
That would be good!!!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
That Boston guy was pretty good... and had an attitude that can't be taught.
Those mint chocolate chip milkshakes do the trick. And I'm glad Tenn f'd up and let us keep Schiano as one of the best recruiters and coaches in the country.
Do you think Schiano taking another job at the end of the season would throw a wrench in the recruitment of Wypler?
Was wondering that myself, but you'd have to think these kids are aware that he has head coach aspirations - he did almost leave this past winter after all.
I don't - might be different if Schiano was his position coach though.
Hopefully Ohio State can sustain solid ties it has built in Jersey, that'll be a void when Schiano does depart.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
Hopefully they talked about that possibility and that he knows the other coaches will be there for him.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Yes. The best answer would be that Shiano stays at the OSU for sure at least for the kids first year to get comfortable with the transition. And who knows, Shiano may want to stay another 2-3 years.
Knowledge is Power
At this point, he’s honest with all recruits. He is on an upward professional path and isn’t hiding it. He can’t and won’t lie.
Wypler to opposing defensive linemen:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Can't say enough how impressed I am with the quality of player that Meyer and staff have targeted in addition to the quality of person. The recruits that are coming to Columbus really check all the boxes.
Been one impressive last 10 days in Buckeye Nation.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
These young certainly appear to be exceptional on and off the field.
I've been on the Higgins train for a while now.
I see Higgins as a Noah Brown clone--WR/TE tweener.
If I have one concern, it's is he fast enough? He was on his high school's track team but did not run--his events were the shot put, triple jump and long jump and his results were so-so. I would expect to see a WR running sprints. When he and Garrett Wilson ran an impromptu race at The Opening, Wilson dusted him. I get the size difference but it wasn't even close.
If Higgins = Brown, then I hope OSU lands him...
16-2 is SWEET!
hmmmm..like your TE potential idea.
KBonay - it appears that several excellent WRs 'with skills' are interested in us....
The only ingredient i haven't heard or seen some someone yet claim is 'speed'... Ted Ginn speed to be specific. Anyone 'out there' in 2019 - 2020 in that rarified element? TIA
Andrew, is there any concern about Wypler wavering his commitment closer to the 2020 signing period since Schiano won’t be at OSU after next season? He says that Schiano was the main factor in his recruitment and decision but he won’t be there when Wypler arrives on campus
Not Andrew but no. He’s telling recruits he may or may not be there. They know that.
Wonder what is going thru Ttun fans heads when we are landing all these prime recruits and they are landing somewhere in Europe.
18 Saturdays till kickoff
Schiano will be on the defense side of the ball. Shouldn't mean a thing if he leaves for Wypler? Unless he tries to take him to his next job. I worry about every recruit until they sign. In my many years of following this I have seen to many sure things leave at OSU and others flip to come here too. People change their minds all the time and think back when we where in our teens. I wish I could think back that far been awhile.
Hopefully "if" Schiano leaves(and he probably will) it wont matter. For one, like someone/many have said he is on the offensive side of the ball and coach has most assuredly been upfront about that. But more importantly, with the guys that have already committed to the 2020 class, and the guys already having us at the very top of their list, and with so many of them already in a group chat with each other, recruiting each other, building relationships with each other, he and the others will realize just how special their class has the chance to be and will have built by that time personal friendships that they all stick to the course no matter what between now and then.
Thats what I hope happens, fingers crossed, Go Bucks!
If Wypler plays Center, does that mean Miller plays Guard?
Pretty sure that Wypler has been recruited as a guard, not a center.
Having said that, he could very well go the route of a few of OSU's guards who transitioned to (rather awesome) centers later in their college career. He certainly is smart enough to handle the reads and OL calls.
Trust me! I'm an Engineer.
Wypler was recruited as a center, but I think Miller is the one who ends up playing there when their careers overlap. Wypler will likely be Billy Price and move over after Miller's (Elflein) career is over.
Thanks for the clarification Andrew. I stand corrected.
Kids like Higgins, with family experience in Ohio, usually come to love the Buckeyes. If your family has experienced Ohio State football, you're halfway to your final destination.
Keep calm. It's only a game.
