This is like my All-2000's Buckeye basketball team jumped out of the forums and onto a court. If only they could suit up for Coach Holtman this season.
Dude. This is like a dream. All these guys back together in the S&G. Damn!
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
This is awesome - anyone know if these games are televised?
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
First game will be on ESPN. All other games, if not televised, can be streamed on WatchESPN.
Good to go - thanks, JG.
Looks like they get coverage on ESPN3, the streaming app and even some games on regular ESPN.
Here is the coverage schedule:
EDIT: Looks like their first game, which is game 7 of the regional, is on at 4pm on ESPN on Saturday July 21. If they win, they will play on ESPN at 2PM the next day.
Big X, the other team with some Buckeye alumni, is the second game of the Saturday slate at 10am on WatchEspn/ESPN3, and if they win, they play on Sunday on ESPN 2 at 4pm.

Cool - appreciate it, Lou.
Oden looks like a kid who got in trouble for something and he's waiting for the adults to let him out of timeout.
"¯\_(ツ)_/¯" - Joey Bosa
Oden looks like a kid 45 year old who got in trouble for something and he's waiting for the adults to let him out of timeout.
I’m not sure that Greg has ever looked like a kid.

The talent we had in Columbus over the last 10 years is amazing, kind of tough to fathom that there weren't better NBA careers from this group. I really thought Lighty could be a serviceable NBA player as he was nasty on defense and had average offensive skills.
This team should be fun to watch, Oden, Mullens and Lauderdale in the paint... good luck to anyone going to the rim. Throw in Craft and Lighty manning up on the perimeter and this team should be nasty defensively.
Buckeye til I die
I would love an inside scoop of who has turned down invitations and who hasn't been asked to join the team. For example, Daequan, LaQuinton Ross, and Deshaun Thomas are a few I would love to see over the non-OSU guys on the roster. Just curious how it all comes together!
Any word on Taylor Battle joining the team? I heard he was a few weeks ago, but that was before Oden and Sully.
They were really hurt in the semis by the fact that Craft got in foul trouble and Diebler was nowhere near 100% with an ankle injury. Battle would provide much needed perimeter depth.
I play, coach stays. He goes, I go.
Yup. Based on last year, they need another ball handler with some quicks. Some of us foresaw that to be an issue last year, and I was really hoping Scoonie was going to lace them up. He looks like he's in as good of shape as anybody. Battle, this year, would definitely help. For what it's worth, I haven't heard anything about him not playing.
Something doesn't add up with the roster numbers though. Unless it has changed from last year, only 9 players are allowed on a team. Last year they had 7 former Buckeyes (Craft, Sully, Diebler, Lighty, Buford, Ravenal, and Lauderdale) along with 2 non Buckeyes: Leon Rogers (PF from Northern Illinois) and a Bowling Green alum (forget his name, but he frankly wasn't very good).
I assume the 7 Buckeyes are back and Rogers and the BG alum are out. And we have now heard that Battle, BJ Mullens, and Oden have joined the team. That's 10. Who is the odd man out?
I am hoping it is Mullens, and maybe it will be since he is currently playing in the NBA Summer league. I just don't see the need for him with Sully and Oden on board. Sully will definitely start at the 5, Lauderdale will back up, and if Oden can play even limited mins with his knees, it will be a huge bonus. How in the hell does Mullens figure in the rotation?
On the perimeter though, they currently have one PG (Craft), two SGs (Diebler and Buford), and Lighty as a SG/SF/PF combo. A guy that could handle the ball a little and play off the ball would be perfect. Even though Battle isn't a former Buckeye, he would be a perfect fit, in my humble opinion.
Rules for 2018: minimum of 7, maximum of 15.
However, any players after the initial 9, or who join after June 1, cost an additional $1000 player registration fee.
Good to know. Thanks for info. I imagine Oden could cover that $1000 fee.
Sully probably could too. They both cost them $1000 to be added this late.
Battle is still listed on the roster on the team's webpage, FWIW.
Yeah, I saw that. If he is on board and everyone stays healthy (knock on wood), I like their chances to win it all. And that is with pretty low expectations as to what Oden will be able to contribute.
Battle is on the team. He practiced with the team today in Columbus.
Thanks for the confirmation. Battle is a huge addition in my opinion.
Yep. Best player in the history of Penn State basketball imo. Silky smooth guard.
The off-season just got a little more bearable. Thank you football gods!

He doesn't look like he aged one bit!
I wish him the best and hope to see him play well!
Oh, to have a time machine...
Now if they could just add Amir!

"I feel ready for whatever awaits me on the other side. I don’t fear adversity. I don’t fear the spotlight. I don’t fear success. And I don’t fear failure." - Braxton Miller
Come on... best $1,000 the team would have spent!
I acknowledge that this was sarcasm but I still dislike you for reminding me that he existed...
Looks like the roster will have plenty of big men and a shortage of guards.
PG- Aaron Craft
PG/SG- Taylor Battle
SG- Jon Diebler
SG- William Buford
SG/SF- David Lighty
As long as they stay healthy (Diebler suffered a pretty bad sprained ankle last year in the tourney), I think they are just fine on the perimeter. Battle is a nice addition.
I think that's a solid backcourt.
This is going to be awesome to watch. They need more guard play, but I'll take what they got!
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Okay, okay - I am reading several thoughts on how we will "be alright", Are you serious, none of these guys (except Oden) are out of professional play! And thanks to the sense of community they often play together when in the off season. This is going to be amazing!
