Holy hell, I badgered my mom into getting me a Jansport backpack in like 9th grade. I might still have it somewhere
A man got to have a code...
"See, even eastbay knows to pick Zeke over Eddie George"
Can’t recall Eastbay... still, kudos to Zeke.
totally unrelated, but I wonder if those Scholastic book fairs are still a thing in elementary schools...
"Because I couldn't go for three." - Woody Hayes
Yes, my kid has the book fair come to his daycare school.
Outstanding - really glad to hear that. I never had much money to buy the books, but it always seemed like an exciting way for the schools to generate interest in reading.
This off season keeps getting better
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Scholastic book fairs... perhaps a new low.
Wow, I may have to sign up for a catalog (googles how to sign up for a catalog)
When I was 6 I was thinking about this rivalry. This one is seared on your soul, It's ingrained through every part of your body. -Urban Meyer
Lol, Eastbay was prime reading material on the bus to and from school. Also got passed around just as much as Nintendo power during study halls.
Dude! Eastbay is great for folks in the fitness community! They have everything and they even have all that super fancy Jordan stuff the kids love.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I feel like he's purposefully leaning into the Ewok meme at this point.
Website is one of my go tos, it low key has everything all the big names have and always have good coupon codes. Said in my best couponing mother voice.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Facts. Sneakerheads definitely have Eastbay as one of their plugs to check in on.
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
also, for those that don’t know: eastbay, champs, footaction and footlocker are all the same company thet was formerly woolworth.
All are like 85% the same stuff with slight differences.
SCPO, USN (ret)
Yes and Yes. Gotta know the spots to beat the bots these days.
Eastbay is still legit. They have decent sales and promos online. I order a couple times a year.
Lol my jackass friend growing up lived out of the Eastbay catalog. Hockey equipment, lacrosse stuff, fancy soccer balls, baseball mitts, and designer shit head to toe and never sniffed actually playing any of those sports. Lmao, 90's poser.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
I never stopped getting a catalog since 8th grade (92). As long as you order something once in a blue moon. They'll keep sending it.
The ugly truth is often downvoted
Still a good place to score some apparel, been a customer since the early 90s.
18 Saturdays till kickoff
Keep it up, Zeke, next is the cover of Rolling Stone!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
As a former coach from the collegiate level on down to 4th graders, parents always asked what were the best ways to make "lil' Johnny" a superstar.
The first thing I told them was to quit buying them $125 shoes and $200 Nike outfits......and to teach them how to a pushup, squat, deadlift and pull-up correctly.
The moms buy the crap (matching shoes, socks, shirt, wrist bands)....just to play "dress up" with their kid. All this why the kid isn't even strong enough to hold his $300 baseball bat at his shoulders correctly.
Knowledge is Power
Yes, I think you are a genius. I was at an AAU tournament once and a 12 y.o. kid needed a pack mule to get all of his gear to the court. He had slides (with socks), game shoes with a different pair of socks, sleeves for both arms and one leg, headbands, you name it. Couldn't figure out where to make the ball hit the court for a decent bounce pass to save his life.
Its just common sense to me.
In all sports, all technical skills being equal, the bigger, faster, stronger kid typically wins.
Contrarily, many times the bigger, faster kid can step onto the field "with zero" instruction and dominate the game. We see it all the time.
But getting bigger, faster, stronger takes work...daily, weekly, monthly... yearly. Putting a cold steel barbell on your back day after day.
It's much easier to buy $200 Jordans off of Eastbay website or Dicks (where it's nicely air-conditioned)....just to look the part, but really NOT having any horsepower behind "the show".
Parents and kids are just kidding themselves.
Heres proof of what I just said:
From our very own 11 Warriors:
"The 6-foot-5, 233-pound Ojabo is considered the 32nd-best strong-side defensive end and No. 489 prospect overall in the Class of 2019, as he recorded 35 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for a score in just seven games with the Buccaneers last season.
That’s the extent of Ojabo’s experience playing organized football, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States in 2016 to play basketball and soccer. He put on a helmet for the first time last August, yet holds nearly three dozen offers from programs such as Clemson, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
Eastbay is basically Fanatics except Eastbay doesn’t slap “item is excluded from discount” on half their stock during a “sale”.
He looks fat....
I was way too poor for Eastbay. Hope Zeke has a great year and keeps it clean.
In 1987 Eastbay was one of the best ways to get fresh, new kicks that you couldn't find at the mall. On our track team we ordered group stuff all the time.
The Ohio State University - "Haters love us!"
Baskin Robbins? Nah, Haskins Dobbins - KannonMic
A new level of cheese.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
