Excellent as always. Didn't know that Heuerman played hockey.
Surprised that Raaphorst didn't get a mention. Set some Big 10 records as a PK and was on the 61 team that should have won the Rose Bowl

Decided to take Heuerman out since he wore No. 5 his last season with the Buckeyes.
Good call and memory on Raaphorst. Indeed the '61 team should have gone to the Rose Bowl. That team also claims a national title.
I was writing/adding his info as you were reading. It is there now.
too fast on the read - sorry about that
Just added info on Dre'mont Jones as he will probably be the most decorated player to wear the No. 86 after the 2018 season.
I ve seen a few names on these lists before that I recognized and spoke with. But this is the first time I actually knew folks from their families. Paul Matinsky was the coach over in Minster. He and his wife also ran a clothing store. Most of the clothes I wore to OSU my freshman year came from their place. Not sure I knew he played for OSU! But I was well dressed. At least, according to my mother.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Very cool. Thanks for sharing your connection with the Matinsky family.
And if your mom says you were well dressed, I'm sure it's true.
Thanks Matt - this is my last memory of Heuerman wearing a Buckeye uniform.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Ballard was certainly a solid player. That 2010 Rose Bowl was glorious. Held that vaunted Oregon offense to 260 total yards and crushed the TOP. Classic Tress. I remember being so damn sick of hearing about Kelly and that Oregon offense. Great win.
I remember being so damn sick of hearing about Kelly and that Oregon offense.
I remember Collin Cowherd on ESPN Radio during that time as one of the ring leaders. Continually saying that Ohio State was going to get smoked by Oregon's tempo and high-powered offense. Buckeyes didn't have a chance, going to be another big game loss for Ohio State, blah, blah, blah.
I agree with you, that Rose Bowl was a great win. First, it's the Rose Bowl and second, it shut a lot of people up.
Satisfying, without a doubt. Thanks again, Remy.
