Good luck Joe! Always a buckeye
Heartiest congratulations Joey Burrow. You earned it. Go play some FOOTBALL!!!
[LSU fight song in Japan - Haruka Kikuchi, (who plays in busker bands all over Louisiana and New Orleans) rocks the Tiger Rag in Tokyo]
Zone6, with rotating WR's, will have 1000+ yards at all 3 WR positions this season
I thought I was at a Massillon Tiger game the chick on the slide sounded like the Tiger band
Bishop had a great take on Twitter that I agree with. Highest ceiling and lowest floor for him. Could totally tear it up and put himself in a great spot for the NFL or could flame out without much middle ground. I hope he does well and torches Saban twice!
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
I would say Cincy has the lowest floor. At least LSU is on tv every week and will have 20 scouts at their Pro Day. If you stink it up at Cincy you're basically in the CFB abyss.
Cinncy is a NCAA Truck stop. I wish Fickell well, and by that I mean, hope he gets a better job.
You are entitled to you own opinion, not your own facts.
Cool. Might come in handy when Bama needs a loss this fall.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
We will give it to them. So it has been said so it will be done.
Now I have a reason to watch the LSU games this year. Sept. 1 (Miami, Fla.) Oct. 6 (Fla.). Oct. 13 (Ga.), Nov. 3 (Alabama), Nov. 3 when they beat Alabama.......oh, sorry for the repeat.
Good luck Joe!
What’s next on the heated controversy list?
1) Play JT or let someone else try
2) Dwayne or Joe
3) Farrell or Berry at Tight End
hmm doesn't have the same ring to it.
Im on the Ferrell ferry. Dont get me started on those $%!&* nutcases who think Berry should get a shot.
Mods - this site needs an official stand. Not enough digital room for both camps.
Merry Berry not allowed on ferry

best of luck to him. Go knock Saban out of the playoffs. now it's time to focus on the dwayne train
Good luck to Burrow. Things never worked out for him to become the starter at OSU, but he worked hard on the field and in the classroom, and represented Ohio State well. Hope he does well at LSU and eventually realizes his dream of playing in the NFL.
Not sure why, but obviously there's something there he saw and liked. Best of luck to you youngster.
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
I guess at LSU he's not really bumping a senior from his QB spot, which can make you feel like a bum. And, his first six games are: Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia, Alabama AND THEN Rice ...
So, he's going to get his chance right away.
Orrrr...he didn't think he could beat out a three year starter. I love that everyone just assumes that the guy is a future HOFer.
Weeeelllll...he could definitely beat out the Cincy QB.
We really have no idea if that's true or not. Burrow completed 7 total passes last year, a majority of which were in a game where we beat UNLV by 33 points.
I'm definitely rooting for the guy, but he's still an unknown commodity regardless of what our fans keep saying.
C'mon man. He was #2 or vying for #2 for the past two years behind one of the most successful Ohio State Qbs in history and neck and neck with Haskins who is a four star QB and played well in Ann Arbor.
We actually know how he's going to do.
Had Burrow or Haskins started last year, the offense would have been infinitely more feared and far more complete. As for LSU...it's one of the last programs of those considered 'big time' for which I'd care to play, and Orgeron is nothing more than a cajun version of Brady Hoke, imo.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
Good take all around. LSU has not had competence at the QB position since Jamarcus Russell ate his backup.......good luck to Burrow but he is not stepping into the best situation, imo.
I was watching a replay of the scUM game last night and was shocked at the difference in Haskins and Barretts arm strength and pocket poise/decision making. Heck, Haskins even had a couple of nice runs..........
Fanboy error # 12, trying to make a point with rank speculation. You may relally believe this, but that is all it is, a belief.
I'd guess this choice is more about wanting to be on the national stage more than thinking he can't beat out a QB with a 57% completion rate and 27 interceptions at Cincinnati.
It really doesn't take a football genius to see he's got the goods, just watching the way he performed in his limited opportunities on the field and in spring games. He runs and throws well and makes good decisions. I always thought Haskins had the higher ceiling but there is a clear reason Burrow was in a tight competition for the starting spot at OSU.
Yeah, because he should be the starter here.
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
Career stats for Burrow at OSU as a backup were 29-39, 74.4% comp, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, PE 153.
Burrow has the 3 highest PE's in the Spring Game over the last 5 years.
Former Mr Football for Ohio.
Although Burrow was never given a chance to prove what he could do at OSU in prime time, he's has a pretty remarkable resume in non prime time.
Good luck Joe! Beat Bama!
Never given the chance? He had every chance. You must mean never won the job!
Urb has and does play his favs...coach has three natties so that is his right...but bookmark this when I say Joey Burrito can ball...he is accurate and has good decision making...that will get you recognized in the SEC and a shot at a nfl team.
If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear.
Actually, watching games like Clemson in the playoffs, MSU 2015, Iowa 2017, um 2016 & 2017, IN and MSU 2016. The fact we never saw Haskins or Burrow tells me all I need to know about the "chance" given to them. I'm not a JT basher and his poor performance in some of these big games was not entirely his fault - but c'mon - someone else should have been given a chance to see if they could do any better.
BrutusB, unfortunately Joe’s body of work came in the last two “Spring” games. I understand it’s only a spring game. But what else can we evaluate him on? I thought he was the best quarterback in both games. In 2017 with minus 1.1 seconds to throw he demonstrated a quick release, and an ability to see the field and finally he is a very accurate passer. I thought he easily out played J.T..
In 2018 I thought he slightly edged Duane Haskins. Once again showed his accuracy, ability to go through his progressions and the arm to go deep.
When he committed to Ohio State I was a bit surprised. But after watching him play I am not surprised. He seems to be a bright and confident young man. I think he has that it factor.
Unfortunately he was behind J.T. and now Haskins. Who most of us think will be a one done, a la Malik Hooker and Marshon Lattimore.
I expect him to succeed at LSU.
"There are 3 things that can happen and 2 of them are bad" - the Curse of Woody Hayes
Haskins is unknown, also -- imo
you clearly must have just crawled out from underneath a rock, eh Doug?
"Vision without execution is just hallucination."
Wow, half a game and his talent/future has been determined. I get he looked very good, but we really don’t know how good/bad he will end up being - just as we don’t know what Burrow is capable of
Exactly..all these dudes putting Haskins in the HOF for a couple good throws against scUM. What these ignorant fans failed to see is his downside...that hopefully will get fixed. If you watch his entire body of work, spring game included, you should notice his completion % stinks. Maybe it's because his biggest problem is working through his progressions..which he fails at more often than not. He locks on to his primary target way too much and then forces throws that aren't there. Like I said, hopefully he improves but you look at guys like Burrow who looked all the way around and you can see why fans wanted him more..myself included. His completion % also reflects this..I know its a small body of work but nonetheless.
Love the game over any team fandom.
Can’t agree more!!!!
He only had a bad completion percentage in one game and that was the most recent spring game in which he tried to force a few of the throws into very tight coverage. Haskins is very accurate and has amazing touch to go along with his cannon of an arm! I don’t know where you get your stats but they certainly don’t back up your argument when it comes to Haskins. He will be great. He’s a once in a life time type of guy and anyone with a decent pair of eyeballs can see that.
The mark of excellence, the test of greatness, is consistency
No. He looks at data not hype.
What is this data you speak of??? Haskins has a 70.2 completion percentage, 9.9 yds per completion and a 4-1 touchdown to interception ratio... what are you guys talking about? Look it up... these are actual in game stats and not spring game statistics.
Was it not Mr Haskins who entered the game in the second half and drilled holes in a decent Michigan defense. That alone gave him the edge in the quarterback race for this year. Pretty big stage to step on to prove yourself. But he did and and earned his spot as the leading candidate to replace J T GO BUCKS!
Harbaugh sure as hell knows him..................
Agreed with BB. Another Joey B. looked like a stud in Spring Games. Now we post his “passing chart” as a frequent joke.
That said, I’m surprised by the news. I think Burrow could’ve started at UC — especially given the Fickell connection. And, TBH, I was hoping he’d go to UC and torch the league so that I could watch him do so from a close seat. Put differently, I think he had a better chance of torching UC’s league and getting drafted than doing great at LEU.
But anyone who can guarantee he’s a stud QB is kidding themselves. His live game action has been virtually nil. The number of QBs who were can’t miss (and flashed great in limited time) is a long, long list. I hope he isn’t on that list, but we don’t really know.
UC is a few notches above a HS program. LSU >>>>>> UC not complicated.
LSU is greater than Uc, but let’s be real def not “a few notches above” any high school program. They have had some good years.
Friggin 4 for 4 off the bench vs UNLV after recupping from a broken thumb in 4 weeks..cmon mon!
This is all hilarious to me still...... there is not a single Ohio State starting Qb in the NFL and now our 3rd string Qb who couldn’t beat out J.T. Barrett is a First Round prospect. Thank god he finally picked another school so we can find something to talk about with our own team.
My guess..it was the 3 wrs they have that'll be playing on Sundays...it was a great pick for a QB..er no pun intended.
LSU has a defense and skill position roster as talented as OSU. Not too many schools can say that. Burrow has a chance to be a huge star there.
LSU, ever heard of them? Kinda of a big deal...
Congrats and Best of luck Joe!!! Go kill it down there.
Now, hopefully this steers Grant Gunnell towards Ohio State. Think his top 2 are OSU and LSU.
Fields of Dreams
Forgot about this already. Gets us to the scholarship number and likely hurts LSU's chances with a recruit we want. Nice!!
They hate us cuz they aint us!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder if this means a QB or two transfer out of LSU, re-opening a spot for Gunnell.
Nice landing spot
Good luck Joe.
Quarterback play in that conference is usually pretty weak. Considering the defenses he'll face, if he's pretty productive he'll definitely get a shot in the NFL. This was always probably his best option. Their skill players are usually pretty good.
Colin Cowherd said it best about LSU (unrelated rant) QBs the last few years. "Historically bad".
I'm shocked that Urban didn't block him from transferring there.
Geaux Jeaux Burreaux!
Hopefully he wanted him to beat Bama & he does.
Nice one, Earle.
My son will be so stoked. His two favorite teams are Ohio State and LSU...poor bastard.
Great landing spot. He'll be a hero there if he can put up numbers.
He's already a hero... he's an active player that not only can read and write, but a graduate with an actual college degree from a prestigious university. It will be months before they can pick their jaws off the ground in wonder.. except of course for the 78 % Tiger fan base that are permanent mouth breathers.
Good luck, Joe!
At least your mom won't have to destroy two jerseys when UC plays Ohio U this year.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Excellent, best of luck to Joe. Hopefully we don't end up playing a bowl game, Bosa will crunch him (not intentionally) but he'll bring the heat.
I'm excited to see what this kid can actually do, GO JOE and GO OSU!!!!
What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.
Good luck Joe
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
Best wishes to Joe Burrow. I never thought I'd say this but do look forward to watching some LSU football this year and hope Joe has a tremendous season. Go Bucks!
Good luck to Joe Burrow
If he woulda went to cincy, we might've had to face him in 2019 which im glad doesn't have to happen now.
CARDALE JONES! CARDALE! JONES, THE WHOLE STATE OF OHIO IS COUNTING ON CARDALE JONES!
I can't tell if this is hyperbole or not. Cincy will (should) lose to us by 30+, with or without Joe Burrow.
Yeah, I seem to remember playing them in 2002 (you know the year we won the NC), it wasn't a blowout then. The Bucks were very lucky to escape with a win. Many thought they (should) have blown out Iowa last year too.
It's true there is no way to predict the future but I don't understand why anyone would try to discredit anything Joe Burrow has done. I never saw anyone say that he was going to be a HOFer. He is a good QB that almost got the starting job at OSU and probably would have had it not been for an injury.
I say good luck Joe. I hope you do well at LSU and make it to the NFL.
When Burrow broke his hand he was not named the back up, he and Haskins were neck and neck at that particular time.
Thanks for that but I never said he had been named the back-up. I just said he probably would have...that's just what I believe.
Crap. Good luck to Joe but I hope none of it wears off on the rest of the team.
Best of luck, Joe. Beat Bama.
Do they play UK? Beat them too

Well, they finally have a good quarterback.
Best wishes Joe. Everyone wishes you well. Work hard, stay healthy and great things will happen. We are looking forward to your success. Unless...
Best of luck Joe!! Thank god we’re not guaranteed to see you now. Playoffs? Maybe? He could be the difference for LSU moving forward.

Great news! Burrow will always be a Buckeye! Just hope we don’t play LSU over next two years. Congratulations Joe.
The fellas at tiger droppings are stoked
Best comment I could find!
"Not winning the job at OSU is completely different from not winning the job at LSU. Any of OSU's previous starting QBs dating back to Troy Smith, would smoke every single one of our QBs since 2007 (yes that means Matt Flynn included). Well, Boeckman was probably a little below Flynn.
Followed by the comment stating they'd beat Rice this year.
That one to me proved people in Louisiana can have a sense of humor
Best post I saw too.
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
Does that include Joe Bauserman?
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
I don't think anybody nationality remembers Joe Bauserman ..
Man, that site is a scenic journey down the back roads of Grammarville.
Couldn’t stop reading their comments. Funny Sh!t
Here's to hoping Joe B dumps Bama this season! Id buy his jersey on DHgate for sure if that were to happen
I'm certain about one thing...
Burrow won't lose to Troy.
Don Brown must've attended night school, because he got owned by Day.
I hope he does really well, only I pray he doesn't out perform Haskins.if it happens we at buckeye nation will be upset about the one that got away.I hope we all have success and meet up in the playoffs.
"Out-perform" is going to be impossible to compare in any sort of fair manner since they will be playing for and against completely different teams.
We compare QB all the time. Really... ALL THE TIME!
Smart ones already are.
Well...looks like no more changing the channel when an LSU game is on...
He's going to go bet on himself in the hardest division in college football with a crazy head coach (who may not last 2 years). That almost seems riskier than battling it out with Haskins through the fall. Kinda wish Cincy got him for Luke's sake and because he's an Ohio kid, tho.
However, the job appears WIDE open and LSU has a lot of NFL talent and the new OC runs an offense that will fit him well.
Plus, we get to say Jeaux Burreaux. That's sweet. Can't wait to watch him play there.
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
Actually, he left the hardest division in college football. Can't argue with the rest of it.
My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)
He's going to go bet on himself in the hardest division in college football
He actually left the B1G East.
As much as it pains me to say, had Auburn beaten UGA in the SECCG, the SEC West would have had 2 teams in the CFP last season and the B1G still woulda been on the outside looking in. So there's truth in your post.
Exactly my thoughts. As much as it pained me to write it.
It varies year by year, but the SEC West is the current king of the Hill mostly because of Bama making the playoffs every year.
The B1G East is very close and could be #1 this year. OSU, PSU, MSU, and Michigan are the good teams, but the rest drop off pretty significantly. And TBH... Sparty has bad years and Michigan is still a paper tiger.
You bring up something I was thinking of. Going from a 3 way battle to a 4 way battle at LSU indicates there may, I repeat may, have been conversions we aren’t privy to between jb and his coaches thus impacting his decision. It also indicates jb is highly confident.
waaaay more talent in the bayou
even UC has the edge on coaching talent. makes sense.
Good move by him. They've underperformed lately but if you go by recruiting rankings they still have a stacked roster.
Good luck to Joe. Let's see him and the Tigers knock off Bama and some other SEC teams. If that means we meet them in the playoffs, so be it.
I hope Burrow rips up the SEC next year, especially Bama.
BrutusBuckeye95 - Champions bleed scarlet and gray
Im so rooting against Alabama.
If i could change my username, i would
Do your thing, Jeaux.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
isn't bill busch their safeties coach? there's an ohio state connection. best of luck joe!
Yes, he and Burrow's dad are very tight, he was the one who told LSU to get on the horn when Burrow announced he was transferring.
See you in the ‘ship game, Joe.
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
Take notes Auburn... This is how you do a transfer.
Question: no PAC 12 schools interested?
dont have the stats just feel like they put more QBs in the league than anyone. Them and the BIG 12 it feels
i hope he gets the chance to beat the shit out of the buckeyes and Haskins
Yikes... might wanna change your username to JoeBurowNumberOneFan
Did you lose a lot of money betting Burrow would be the starter or something?
Honestly; what is it about Dwayne Haskins that some Buckeye fans find so distasteful? The kid has been nothing but respectful since he's been here, he grew up a lifelong OSU fan and is just now getting his chance to live out his dream, he's got loads of potential, and, oh yeah, he already has a comeback win over the Maize and Blue in Ann Arbor under his belt. What's not to like here? If I didn't know better, I'd swear that there's something else going on, but I'm not going to go there...
I was, am and always will be a Joe Burrow fan but Dwayne Haskins is my quarterback.
Sounds like you are the conductor of the hype train!!
Sounds like you Fear_the_nut70 are a butt-hurt crybaby wannabe true Buckeye fan.
We know what you are saying about the something else going on. Its the way society is including OSU fans. That and the nonsense about Ohio players. Those are the kind of fans that will be on this board complaining the minute Haskins throws a pick, its just better to ignore them.
It's a Big O' Tree, that Oak. Sad but there's no IQ test to join. Cheering for the same team is the only common thought. Go Dwayne and Go Joe.
The haters on Haskins don't like him b/c he doesn't fit into Urban's narrative for the QB position-keep your mouth shut and run the read option into the line 25 times a game. Haskins has been nothing but respectful and well well liked amongst his teammates, but running the read option w/ him constantly would be like taking a Ferrari mudding on the back 40-you might see some crazy things, but ultimately you are wasting something transcendent-his arm-on a task that can be done more efficiently w/ a different vehicle.
Urban obviously loved Barrett to death as his QB, and the Urban uber-alles crowd is locked into a cycle of justification for every decision he makes. Any success (and scheme changes) that Haskins might experience this year might reflect poorly upon Urban's judgment regarding the QB position/offensive strategy the past few years, and we just can't have that, can we?
Stroke affected his thinking...move on.
i hope he gets the chance to beat the shit out of the buckeyes and Haskins
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
Get the fuck out of here with that shit you troll
Glad to hear that Mr. Burrow (without an ‘s’) has found a place he can play and compete. Going to a Power Five school is a smart move with respect to his future. A couple of those D Lines in the SEC can be brutal, though. I hope this works out for the young man in the long run.
"You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, & in the manner in which you live.

I’m more concerned about LSU’s offensive live and offensive gameplan (double entendre intended) than I am about the opposing SEC defenses.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Someone doesn’t like offensive line typos.
Go Joe!!! Beat Bama!!!
He is going against Miami in week 1 on ABC
deliver punishment to the Convicts
Makes sense...easier to change OSU tattoos to LSU than UC.
By reading LSU's recruiting forums I sure hope he lives up to their expectations and performs well.
Best of luck Joe.
When asked for comment about the commitment, Coach Orgeron replied with euphoria: “Weeeee undd da boiz r real happy two ave Jeaux Berreaux down unda, lossa shrimp gumbo tonite bois, sixarreaux flippity floppity fleaux. Gimme dat Red Bull can (smashes it on his dome). Go Tigasssss.”
Just hope he doesn't confuse Joe with JoJo selling Hummers.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
THAT is funny as fuq, Cooper! You win.
Wishing you the very best of luck Joe! You’ll do well!
Most Southeast Ohio folks will be watching LSU games this season & pulling for Joey Burrow. Glad now I have the SEC network as I had never turned it on before. If LSU & OSU meet I know who I am pulling for!
Hold on--you'd pull for LSU over the Buckeyes? What the fuck?
You would only understand if you are from southeast Ohio.
Joe Burrow is basically a hero in that part of the state, because nobody from down there ever gets to play football at a big time school.
It's almost like rooting against your son if he were playing against your favorite team.
I realize that is a tad over the top, but just saying.
JB is going to LSU...so he still isn't playing football at a big time school /s
I'm from Southeast Ohio and I don't understand.....good luck Joe, but I won't be pulling for some other team...especially one we owe some payback too.....
I read blitz
I'm not going to question the loyalty/judgment of SE Ohio Buckeye fans-I would assume most of them would not betray the Buckeyes to root for LSU. Besides, it's not like Burrow was born in the hollers' or along the river, he moved in w/ his family from Nebraska. I'll certainly root for him at LSU, but when it comes to loyalty to the Buckeyes-puhleeze. Ironically, an LSU fan showed how it should be done-Landon Collins, the S from Bama/NY Giants, is from Louisiana, and his MOM told him when he signed w/ the Tide that she loved him but there was no way she would root for Bama over LSU when they played, even w/ him on the team! That's a mom I respect!
Not me, but it happens in much of the country.
Most Southeast Ohio folks will be watching LSU games this season & pulling for Joey Burrow....If LSU & OSU meet I know who I am pulling for!
Making a list of all these "wannabe" Buckeye fans lurking on 11W..
Geaux Jeaux Burreaux! Take out Bama and Auburn for us. Now I sound like Silverbullets on the O-zone. What's the deal with that guy? It has to be Gerd the NERD or a troll. Or he is who he is, an old geezer all fucked up on black coffee. I was banned for criticising the guy, so it has to be Gerd. I just solved a 20-year mystery, fellas
2001 Wrenway Park Wiffleball Champs
Great choice Joe. Unbelievable game day experience down there in the Bayou. Go win an SEC title. Best of luck - we will all be rooting for you!
Make your dream come true !
I have always liked Burrow. I think he has made a smart decision and I hope it works out for him. I hadn't been planning on watching any college games this year that didn't involve the Buckeyes, but if he is named the starter for LSU I will definitely be watching their games.
Sure do wish Joe could have gone to Cincy. Coach Fick would have done him right. Hate seeing him go to the $EC. But I feel that if his choice makes him happy and it helps him get to the next level, then so be it. I wish Joe B all the best -- he's earned it -- and as much as I can't stand to turn on an $EC game on my TV, I might just have to watch a little LSU this year....
So, what's he majoring in? And why doesn't OSU offer that program?
Crawfish etouffee. In Ohio that's called bait. We don't offer a degree in that.
They'll find him something.
Yeah, craw daddies are nasty. Taste nothing like shrimp.
Go get em, Joe. Beat Bama.
Actually thought the no defense AAC would have been a good choice.
Good luck J.B.....Buckeye Nation will miss you.....Kick " Little Nickie's Ass "....Go J.B.....Go Bucks...
Another good luck Joe. Blow their socks off down there.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
I get the sentiment as he is from Ohio, and gave it his best shot, but can we move on...OSU made their choice and He made his, hindsight is 20-20 but he is no longer a buckeye. Hope his OC is really good because the HC is a loon and their offense has never really scared anyone even when they had Fournette
Joe is a graduate from tOSU and therefore is a Buckeye forever. Just because he made his decision to play football elsewhere in the best interest of his pursuit of an opportunity at the next level does not mean that he won't be fondly remembered for what he gave to this team while he was here.
As far as everyone moving on, that will happen once the fall comes and the season starts anew. In the meantime, best to let folks vent their grief over him moving on so that they will be ready to fully embrace Dwayne and the team come September.
Please try not to sound so negative toward other fans for expressing their feelings toward Joe Burrow. We'll all turn the page soon enough.
Will make the SEC more interesting and hey maybe he can beat Bama...wouls love to see LSU in the playoffs...Coach O is crazy and tired of Nicky Satan’s mug anyways...
Good luck to him. Really hard schedule against some good defenses.
He has to love that stadium and the best atmosphere in college football. Great cajun food and good people.
Wish you the best, Joey B. Thanks for everything you put into the Scarlet and Gray while you were here.
Can't wait for camp to start so that Buckeye Nation can regain its proper focus. The potential for this 2018 season is tantalizing, and I hope people get on board.
This is for 'Bama fan Hoss4107:
Another "Chump-Ass Yankee" coming your way. Try not to choke on your chew.
Best of luck to Joe Burrow. May he become the gadfly of the SEC.
I am not very smart, but I recognize that I'm not very smart. --- W.W. Hayes
Somewhat surprised. I guess I have a reason to watch SEC football now?
I give him credit. UC would have been the safe choice.
I really hope he does well there.
Burrow has every tendency of a great competitor. Now he will get a chance (hopefully) to show what he can do.
I wish that he had not chosen to transfer but I think that I would have done the same thing were I in the same position.
I will pay attention to what he does at LSU.
It would make a playoff game or bowl game versus LSU pretty compelling for me as a fan.
We will see what happens.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
Well... glad this is over, and we can get back to covering The 2018 Ohio State Buckeyes.
Best of luck Joe... best of luck trying to understand what the hell coach Ed is saying.
Hope you do well young man.
Good Luck Joe.
Will be great to see you play finnally.
I think you made a smart move, Urban made his choice in the tsun game.
Good Luck to you.
"The Past Builds the Future"
all these comments, and no mention of fine bourbon
Well shit! I'm from Athens and have been rooting for him since well before his commitment to OSU. I could root for Cinci or UNC... I can not root for usc
Happy For Joe-hope he does well!
Bourbon all dressed up for his arrival-
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
Lets hope we dont play him. Hes better than DH and I dont think we want that loss.
Absolutely no proof to suggest he's better than Haskins.
Yeah, there have been some dandies through this whole QBGeddon.
I'm not saying he is better than Haskins but there certainly is some evidence to suggest he is better or just as good. In both spring games, Burrow outperformed Haskins. Burrow's numbers in mop up are also similar or better than Haskins. Burrow never got a chance here which is a shame. I like both Haskins and Burrow but my eyes told me Burrow was the slightly better QB. Let's hope Urban made the right choice.
Anyone kneaux where I can get a Geaux Jeaux t-shirt?
"Brennan is the only one of LSU's three quarterbacks to attempt a pass in his college career. He was 14 of 24 for 178 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions last season in relief of senior starter Danny Etling, himself a transfer from Purdue."
Phew! Some of you exhausted by fake stories you didn’t have to follow should be alright. Day he left I called him to LSU (yep, patting myself on the back. Might be an a-hole but I know what I am talking about).
Might be (Am) an a-hole
"Attack the Strong, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead!"
-Former OSU S&C Coach Lichter
The brilliant part for LSU and SEC is they just dramatically increased their viewership
best wishes to you young man
GEAUX tigers and make us proud
Bittersweet ending for JB. Good luck to him.
There really wasn't any other choice for him. The OSU coaches weren't going to give him a guaranteed starting position before the fall, especially as he was injured last season. Even if that did happen, he would have had only one year, now he gets two.
TOSU can now focus their energy 100% on Haskins, instead of benching him for a year.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Can't believe some of the comments from "Buckeye fans". Burrow lines up against the silver bullets I want him to take a beating just like any other player not in scarlet and gray. Outside of that I'm pulling for him to be successful and will be tuning in for some LSU action this season.
18 Saturdays till kickoff
First goodluck Joe B. Second all the fake fans who root for 1 player instead of the program get off the board and go jump on another bandwagon and third the people saying LSU will beat us now lol always funny to me when a fat arm chair qb thinks he knows more then 3 time world champ proving he is the best at his job making 7 million a year from his job. Probably don't even win your 70 dollar fantasy football league. What knuckleheads.
Good luck! And please take down Alabama!
Onward and upward! Go Buckeyes!
No matter who won the job here the first time either of them would throw a pick or have a bad game the goons would come out and say Urban picked the wrong qb. For the coaching staff it wasn't going to be a win win situation. Haskins has enough on his plate to run the team. I just hope the fans support him and not run him out of town. Remember other young qb's watch and attend our games and watch every move by team and fan base. I remember a old saying during the war. If you can't support the troops get in front of them. Same goes for Mr. Haskins and good luck Joe.
"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
I was calling for Burrow to be the starter but him moving on is for the best. From the sounds of it, Haskins won the job at the TTUN game in Meyer's opinion. I think there was an honest competition but JB would have to look way better than Haskins in the spring to win the job.
I'm not rooting for JB over the Buckeyes. Honestly, I would have been rooting for him more if he went to a small school and started working on the NFL.
And this just in; Saban tries to block the transfer-thinking it's an Alabama rules the sec rule.
Mark May is a mental midget
I've been an Ohio State fan for my entire life. Something about this Burrow thing really pisses me off: 3 years of hard work, distinctly better when given the chance, and he gets the shaft. I half ass hope that LSU hits all their marks, gets to the playoffs and torches FUM.
But then loses the game.
I really don't understand why people are so upset over Burrow transferring that they "hope" he beats Ohio State. Are you guys fans of a team or fans of a single player?
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
A few years ago-some time in Tressel's regime, I read a "What opposing coaches are saying" blurb about tOSU in the Sporting News college preview, where an anonymous, B10 coach said "Their fanbase is bi-polar. They get way too excited about players early/overhype them and then give up on them way too quickly for the next shiny object". This is the latest manifestation of this unfortunate tendency amongst a certain segment of the fanbase.
"torches FUM " is an unnecessary comment. A bit too strong IMO. I don't believe Myer screwed Joe over. I do believe he either made or didn't make a decision that will end up being a part of his legacy. It'll be Chapter 10 in his auto-biography.
Heres wishing both QB's unbridled success the next two years.
Knowledge is Power
When and where was he distinctly better? There certainly are no stats or film to back that claim up.
Good luck Joe! I so hope that Ohio State will play LSU in the National Championship game in the next two years and Joe leads the Tigers over the Bucks and wins it all! You really screwed this one up Urban. Joe Burrow is OHIO STATE!!
Before there was Larry Bird, there was "Hondo" John Havilcek! The Pride of Martins Ferry, Ohio!
No, Ohio State is Ohio State, Joe Burrow is a former Buckeye, soon to be LSU player.
Fort Seneca = Ass hat.
For those in the minority who said UM played favorites in giving Haskins the job ....Are you out of your Fing mind!!!!!!
To Joey I say GOODBYE. He can go south and complain about getting paid and maybe will.
