Love it...that's brothers being real.
Even Ursa Minor (had to laugh at that).
Head up, Joe Burrow.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
Sayin' it in his deadpan voice makes it even funnier.
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
Love it...that's brothers being real.
It's remarkable. Was it Burrell who said he had virtually no experience of Ohio State players disliking each other? I don't know how you pull that off in a large group of guys who have (or have good cause to have) large egos.
I would never have guessed this when Urban was hired, but the character of players has if anything gone up during his tenure.
That's great, never head that before.
Should be a day 1 leader for any team he chooses.
Bosa tweet foreshadowing Nebraska?
I thought Nebraska would be a great place for him, given that they've got no experienced QB returning at all. But a couple of guys looked good in their spring game, so the prevailing opinion around here seems to be that they've already got better than what Burrow can bring them. Yep, they're all raving about how incredible their QBs were in a scrimmage, wearing non-contact jerseys. Also, Frost brought with him a kid he recruited at UCF, and they've already got 5 QBs on their roster.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
Good Luck, Joe.......I've been pulling for you since you got here. You do what's best for you!
It will be interesting to see if he winds up here (I'm in Omaha) in Nebraska.......after the spring games of both schools, there was a lot of talk amongst the fans here of wanting Burrow if he were to transfer. Scott Frost said "why would we look at that guy when we have some great talent with what we've already got?" If he goes to Nebraska, that will be interesting to see what the reactions here will be. Many NU fans here were ultra disappointed when he originally signed with the Buckeyes.
Ohio by birth, BUCKEYE by the grace of God!
Read an article from McKewon at the World-Herald that basically said he sees Burrow as being as good as Gebbia. So, he's as good as a red-shirt frosh that hasn't played a down of big boy football? Real nice! People I talk to out here in Grand Island are so excited from the spring game, how guys looked in a scrimmage with non-contact jerseys. I was once of the opinion that Nebraska would be where he'd land. Sounding like Nebraska doesn't have the sense to want him.
Gebbia and Martinez played against one of the worst defenses in the B1G in that spring game - easy for them to "look good" against inferior competition. The Silver Bullets, on the other hand, can make somebody look a little worse, and that's what Burrow was putting up a bunch of yards on in our Spring Game. Frost still needs to find a D, and a QB that can play against better defenses. "If" Burrow goes there, it's an instant upgrade for NU, IMO.
Love how all those Buckeyes stick together no matter what. A true brotherhood.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
BTW, we are now officially thin at the QB position for 2018! Holding my breath, as one injury may be harmful to the season.....another would be catastrophic!
Nah, if we get too thin Run DMC will be the Wildcat option.
Preferred walk-on QB Danny Vanatsky can play some football.
Zone6, with rotating WR's, will have 1000+ yards at all 3 WR positions this season
Agreed, Baldwin is in no shape to play football at least until another year. So if Martell gets in, who's the immediate back up? A walk-on?
Dontre Wilson still playing? I wouldn’t be surprised.
Bosa's is an instant classic.
It is amazing that through the crazy JT/Cardale days and now this battle, the culture has stayed totally unified and the players themselves seem to get along.
"I don't think you necessarily have to get a trophy to be a winner." - Nick Saban 1/2/15.
These are the type of tweets we should all expect from a team and QB room that is very close. Bosa made me laugh.
My only concern is I don't think we've had a single season where the starting QB made it all the way through without injury under Meyer. Martell better be paying attention.
"I spent 90 percent of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted." - George Best
True, but with Haskins as the starter, the read option won't be used nearly as much, reducing the risk of injury.
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
I thought for sure Burrow was gonna get the job because Haskins isn't going anywhere. Then we would have a legit backup, we seem to be needing them.
Stop abandoning the running backs.
Lots of love and respect for the man.
Speaking of Tweets, we now know Dad's Tweet definitely had some meaning behind it.
Insert expletive here.
Good luck Joe - still pulling for you.
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.
Lmao Nick Bosa!!!! Way to lighten the mood.
I won't be surprised if Chip Kelly gets him... Similar system so no steep learning curve, and he would wreck the the Pac12
"I don't apologize for anything. When I make a mistake, I take the blame and go on from there." - Woody Hayes
Wilton Speight: "I went to UCLA to make sure I wouldn't lose to Ohio State again. No way they can get me all the way out here on the West coast!"
*Joe Burrow transfers to UCLA to take starting job
I'd love that. Then I'd get to see him wreck my Ducks when I go to the UCLA/UO game lol *sadness happiness at same time*
Your pic should be the Oregon O in green with a dash 9 in scarlet after it (O-9)
Haha, touche. I felt pretty good about finding the scarlet Oregon O though.
Definitely UCLA or Texas I'm thinking... I'm sure his rapport with Ryan Day, Tom Herman, and Coach Meyer would speak volumes for him, but I hope he doesn't end up staying in the B1G.
Between goals and achievement is discipline and consistency. That fire you have inside to do whatever you love is placed there by God. Now go claim it. ~ Denzel Washington
Once a Buckeye!
Sorry to see him go. Suspect he will great if he lands in a good place. Hope it's not in the B1G.
Good luck, maybe we will see again at the height of your coaching career, but after many years in the NFL!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Is it just me or does the transfer seem to have surprised guys currently on the roster? Best of luck, Joe. Buckeye Nation was lucky to have you and your new program will be even luckier.
Interesting the relationship between Gibson and Burrow. Many thought Gibson was the next best thing for OSU QB and Burrow would be an afterthought in the draft class. Love seeing him tweet that out in support of Joe.
FWIW, Joe Burrow will be a star on his next team. You can see it in his eyes. Hoping we don't see him this year.
Boy, I got vision and the rest of the world wears bifocals! - Butch Cassidy
Nick freaking Bosa!!! Best wishes to Joe - leave the B1G!!!
I hope we don't have to see him across the field. Not sure I've ever been more surprised or sad at a Buckeye leaving.
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
I'm sorry it didn't work out here for Joe, I saw a few of his high school games and he was clearly a top notch QB, and from what I've seen since he got to OSU he also appears to be a top notch teammate. It's too bad that there really is only room for 1 QB on the roster because I think he and Haskins are probably the 2 best QBs in the B1G. With Haskins being 2 years younger and him already having his degree, it's the right decision for him to make. I wish him the best wherever he goes, with the only exception being (obviously) if he faces OSU and then I'm right there with Little Bear!
Didn't know Torrance was back at WR. If he would have embraced it sooner, he was 1st round talent. Funny how some things turn out.
The ugly truth is often downvoted
I didn't know he was in the CFL...
Hope Joe stays in the big 10 and has a huge season.
Why? Why would you want that? Bitterness?
It feels kind of sad but things like this make you stronger.
Elon Musk: 'I Want to be Clear: I Do Not Respect the SEC'
I concur with Mr. Weber's assessment.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Reunites with Tom Herman in Texas?
"We're going to give the ball to dumb-ass and grind meat"--Woody Hayes
I thought that this may be the best possible place for him to land. They need this caliber of QB and they have a hell of a defense. One bad thing is Tim Beck is there and even though Herman can recruit and has brought in some Grad transfers, Burrow's dad may shy him away from Beck.
Nebraska would be my second guess but would Burrow be able to stay alive in that offense as they change to Frosts way of doing things. Like Cincinnatti, Nebraska is a good guess.
You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever. Urban Frank Meyer
Florida with Dan Mullen.
Wish him the best. Life/Business decisions are tough. Go Bucks.
You never want a guy with the talent of Burrow to leave town; BUT, this will force Urban to stick with Haskins w/o a veteran backup. Martell will be a good backup and Baldwin will redshirt but should be healthy for the season.
We will fight to the end for OH-IO!
Mike Weber summed up my feelings precisely. I hope he goes to Florida or Nebraska.
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
Damn, it really is nice to see the love these guys have for one another. Best part about life man, LOVE. That four Letter word. We fans get so caught up, including me, at times in the meaningless debates about football. To see these is refreshing. This kids just trying to make his way through life, like anyone else. Routine for this guy man.
Sheesh, for cryin out loud, Luke needs his ass in a bad way. No brainer
" It's real good whatcha done Anthony, real good ! "
If we do not win the BIG and go to the final 4 Championship and win or play respective I will always wonder what if. Haskins now has a ton of pressure on his shoulders. Lets hope he can carry the load.
I, like many others, am extremely happy to read the way these young men feel about each other! Even my worst enemy in my squad was closer than any other guy who was not!
I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk
I don't even want to read all these comments. Joe Burrow is the most college ready quarterback on the team. He should have been named the starter. They better hope Haskins stays healthy and is able to play more consistent than he has now given the chance. Good luck to Joe. I hope he wins the Heisman. Go BUCKS!
