Happy Friday, Buckeyes!
Kyle "blood on the field" Kalis... 0-5
Wow, what’s with the DVs? There are people who hate Friday? Tough crowd today. Must be the poor slobs who were invited to the draft’s green room but weren’t picked last night.

Ah, downvotes for trying to be first without anything meaningful to contribute, eh? Still...
Lol, agreed. Over 50% of the posts on this site are people pandering for upvotes without anything meaningful to say.
7 DVs for wishing us all a Happy Friday? Must be Browns fans bitter over Mayfield LOL.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
I’m just here to have a good time. Up or down votes don’t mattter as long I entertain myself
lol, yikes! I just wanted to celebrate my joy pertaining to my first day off in a bit by trying to spread some cheer. I wasn't trying to start anything...
I love the Mayfield pick for the Browns, and I wanted Bradley Chubb at 4, but I'm not going to complain about taking Ward. Corner was a huge need as well and we got a great one.
TTUN fans are already texting me about Patterson like he didn't completely shit the bed against the only two decent defenses he played against last year then got hurt. He will make their disappointment more fun to watch.
Yeah, I dont get it either. He must look good through their maize colored glasses tinted with desperation. That's fine though, we can continue to laugh at their decade-plus run of wet farts on the field.
They needed a new savior after some of them realized Khaki Jesus wasn’t the messiah. It is a nauseating fan base (and this serves as an excellent reminder for those that actually root for them to win on ocassion). Only good TTUN fan is a sad devastated one. That is just how you get a championship QB—rooting through Mississippi’s trash...

"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
Hah, fuck Cincinnati! Billy price is now your savior! Love him or suffer!
but for real, congrats to all the Buckeyes who will become NFL players this week
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
With the comments I just read, Cincinnati doesn’t deserve Price
Relax, everyone. It's easy to find haters on Twitter for ANYTHING in this day and age. 85% of the respondents in the "Do you approve?" poll on the Bengals' SBN website give the pick an A (50%) or a B (35%), meaning there's pretty widespread approval of the pick in their fandom.
DJ selectively choosing his Twitter examples is just him stirring the shit this a.m., as he loves (and lives) to do every Skully. But isn't that why it's such a great read every morning?
"Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect." -- Woody Hayes
There is a reason many call it Cincinntucky. I have always hated that city because many act like they aren’t Ohioans (especially when it comes to the Buckeyes). I have to take my solace watching the Bearcats, Bengals, and Reds suck.
I have been telling everyone on here for years we don’t want the local NFL teams taking Buckeyes because they are bad franchises. Unfortunately, some of you cling to them because of a marketing slogan. I feel bad for Ward and Price which is odd because they both just got lucrative jobs.
Right? We should have booted Cincinnati into Kentucky during the war. Who do they have allegiance to exactly if they don't like Ohio State? The Bearcats? Really? That's like Clevelanders not liking OSU because of Case Western Reserve, only Case is the more highly regarded school next to Cincy.
These fans are just not very classy. Living in Cleveland, and being a die hard Cleveland and Columbus sports fan I always support my Home state sports teams when my local teams are not involved. I guess some fans from Cincinnati just don't love their home state.
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” - Mark Twain
We should have booted Cincinnati into Kentucky during the war.
The war? What war? The Civil War? The one that began only 85 years into our country’s history but ended 153 years ago this month? That war?
I am reminded of when Carson Palmer complained about playing for the Bengals because he had to read and hear about Ohio State constantly. Haters gonna hate. Billy Price isn’t going to change that; however, I am amused that Baker Mayfield is now in Palmer’s shoes in that he’ll have to read and hear about Ohio State constantly.
It's just a joke, Iowa.
Yet the U.S. Grant that kicked the south’s ass was born on the river a short distance east of Cincinnati was “undefeated out of conference.”
When you lose, say little. When you win, say less.
Point Pleasant in Clermont County represents!
I have never understood how Richmond and Washington DC are barely 100 miles apart and yet the Union did not capture the Confederate Capitol until the last month of the Civil War. It took troops commanded by Ohio’s Phillip Sheridan, who reported to Ohio’s Ulysses S. Grant, to break through and deal the Confederacy a final, last killing blow.
I always found that pretty bizarre myself. The civil war was very strange in many aspects.
The army of Nothern Virginia was formidable and civil war city fortifications were no joke. Look up the sieges of Vicksburg and Petersburg.
Sherman is the dude on the Undefeated out of Conference shirt.
I guess I’m a rare Buckeye and Bengal fan. What these other Cincy fans don’t understand (not surprisingly) is that the O Line was absolutely putrid last year. Basically, with the 12th pick, Cincy got Cordy Glenn (from Buffalo) and Billy Price. Oh, and another thing, Price can play C or G. That type of versatility will give the Bengals some flexibility. I’d say job well done, Mikey Brown.
It’s not at all rare. They’re everywhere.
Most of the hate of the hate of the Price pick I’m seeing is the result of Kiper/McShay BS. The consensus of the “experts” was Price was the worst of the 3 top Cs. Ipso facto, it was a reach.
They’re idiots. Putting aside my OSU bias, I still think it’s a great pick. It’d be great had we been able to get Price in the second (what many are saying). I just think that’s plain false.
As if we don't suffer already. It may not be Browns-level suffering, but it's up there.
It may not be Browns-level suffering, but it's up there.
The Browns have won a playoff game more recently, so it's probably pretty close.
I don't wish ill upon the city itself, I actually enjoy going to Cincy when I can...
But the negative reaction to a guy like Price? I mean the lions took Ragnow just before and that guy was easily a third round grade... be happy with what you get cincinnati!
I agree the (limited) negative reaction is a bit unfounded. But...
I mean the lions took Ragnow just before and that guy was easily a third round grade...
That hasn't been the case for quite some time. Everything I've seen in the last month or two had Ragnow going in the first round. In fact, perhaps the most "in the know" person in Cincy said he believed the Bengals would take either Ragnow or Price -- and that they preferred Ragnow.
That creates a perception that we didn't get the player we wanted, and that Price was a consolation prize of sorts. There were also a few mocks after his injury that had him slipping to the second round, creating the perception that we could've waited and grabbed him in Rd. 2. Both are aggressively false assumptions. But, if I'm being honest, most NFL fans are kind of idiots, so the overreactions aren't surprising.
Most key mocks I saw had Daniels and Price going before him and had guys like Hernandez and Williams as better rated interior OL... But it's all a matter of opinion at this point. When I evaluated Ragnow I put a third round grade on him based on better players being available ahead of him and his film. Not saying he can't be an impact player in the third, we all know that's not the case.
Interesting -- only because everything I've seen from the media the last few weeks has painted Price as the unathletic version of the other two Cs. (Full disclosure: I think the media is full of idiots who change what they say over and over, just to get attention; it's appalling that Kiper remains employed).
Can't say I've seen a bunch of Arkansas games, but I have seen plenty of OSU ones. I'm not sure what else you could ask for in a C. Good frame, athletic, strong as a bull, smart, high character, durable, winner, etc.
I've read that Price sometimes "overextends" or doesn't use peerless form sometimes. Okay... that's probably because he can get away with it against crummy competition. IMO, that's easily fixed in the NFL (assuming that even needs fixing).
Long story short, I'm happy with the pick. Though I suspect I would've been happy with the other 2 Cs, too.
2 things this morning...
#1- Bearcats can hate all they want..no worries
#2- I hope Patterson joins ttun today, let the buckeyes welcome him to the B1G, and this buckeye defense..
#3- yeah, I know I said "2 things", but I'm glad these Ohio teams are finally taking notice of this buckeye talent..I almost couldn't believe it when Ward and Price were both taken so quickly, and by Ohio teams..
No one will ever convince me that geese aren’t the evilest animal on earth
Perhaps but they were still a great inspiration to the Three Stooges.
FYI, that's a duck. But your point remains true....
There are some crazy geese attack gifs but they were too big to post so I was hoping the comedic effect of that guy getting his nose tweaked would be enough to overcome any objections.
A goose literally almost flew right into my windshield on the way to work today. Its buddies had already crossed the road and it was a little late to the party so it decided to fly across about 4 ft off the ground. Had to slam the brakes at 40 MPH to not have it plastered to my windshield.
Ah what a time to be alive. Can’t wait for Shea Patterson to lead TTUN to a 9-3 record and watch that fan base make their usual excuses.
"Aut viam inveniam aut faciam!"
I have returned from the future with a Michigan fan’s list of Reasons TTUN went 9-3 in 2018 and finished third in the B1G East:
1.) Ref conspiracy to screw Michigan with bad calls
2.) B1G conspiracy to give Michigan a schedule that was clearly tougher than anybody else’s
3.) NCAA conspiracy to screw Michigan
4.) Ohio State cheating
Not listed: Team got outplayed, team just wasn’t good, poor coaching, poor play
What was the reaction to Amazon Prime's Season Two of "Anything or Nothing Again?"
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
You had me at “1.) Ref conspiracy to screw Michigan with bad calls”
I have never in all my life encountered a fan base that cried about the refs more. They recite this almost as much as some Americans say the National Anthem over at MGO Blog.
Do they think they have something more than Penn State? At least Penn State can pause the screen and show 00 on the clock. Shit happens.
Hard to get into the mind of delusional people (as your question is really a subjective one). I see lots of "we always get called for holding but Ohio State never does" kinda stuff. There are still some over there that cry about the spot even though one of their PHD math students broke it down in an article and concluded it was a first down. The thing about irrational beliefs is that actual facts don't really matter. A long time ago I decided I wouldn't go on a rivals site, sign up and respond (which would inevitably be a troll). But man, it is hard sometimes.
The thing about irrational beliefs is that actual facts don't really matter.
That is why it is called irrational.

9-3 would actually be a good season for them. 7-8 wins seems more likely.
That is how I remember Cincinnati. What I see on 11W does not exist away from the internet from what I have seen. It is just as sure as Tigers fans in Toledo being Michigan traitors.
He won't be "Johnny Manziel 2.0" unless he has multiple substance abuse issues that the Browns aren't aware about. To be fair, that's a scenario that can't be ruled out.
Manziel is nowhere near as good as Mayfield. Night and day difference in passing.
Johnny Interceptions threw it up for grabs a lot at A&M. The WR’s on the other end were quite skilled at going up and getting it in my opinion.
He ran away from fat and slow DTs at Alabama (groomed for NFL clogging). He lived off that way too long. I agree.
No matter what Patterson brings to UM, he will regress as a quarterback.
Was Patterson going to play in Michigan’s spring game if it hadn’t been cancelled? I saw Scott Frost played a QB who transferred to Nebraska from UCF in Nebraska’s spring game even though he has to sit out this year while Patterson doesn’t.
Update as of about 5:30AM when I signed it. The Buck-I-Guy Ban petition was nearing 4200 folks. Unite!

"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Wow! Whoever would have expected that?
Funny thing about many TTUN fans is that they excuse a poor recruiting class like their 2018 bunch by arguing JH's coaching acumen is so otherworldly, so inconceivably good that he could coach a waterboy up to a Heisman winner. If that were true, I would think one would expect more high-round draft picks. Wonder how they will spin this ...

Good call. I hate those damn dirty birds. Send them back to Canada, eh.
I woke up this morning and it wasn’t a dream. Glad the Browns finally drafted a Buckeye, but still feel disappointed. Could this be the final year I give a shit about the Browns? I’m close, very close. DJ your disgust may well be warranted.
"Age wrinkles the body, quitting wrinkles the soul" Woody Hayes
I'm very hopeful that Price and Ward will bring their winning ways to their respective teams.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
Considering Cincinnati sports fans probably don't remember what success looks like (save for FC Cincinnati), I'm not surprised they are unhappy with Price, a Buckeye, being the first round pick for the Bengals. Despite that, you would think anyone that watched the Bengals last year would realize that their line was horrendous. They also just lost Bodine, who was their starting center.
But hey, who cares about facts when you're in Cincinnati - a city divided into Xavier, UC, and UK fans.
Hey now, the Reds had a decent run not too long ago. Other than that, you're spot on with the Bengals fan base. Yikes.
After what Bryan Price did as manager of the Reds (279-387), can anyone can really blame Cincinnatians for not embracing Billy Price? They probably think he’s Bryan’s son.
I read those tweets, and nobody was mad about the pick, they were just reacting to Price's comments about bringing the Ohio State brand to Cincy. You disapprove of a person's comments without disapproving of the person.
To be honest, it is a strange thing to say. I'm not even sure what that means. I guess I get how it could rub certain people the wrong way?
For me, even if he said something I hate (e.g., "Go Blue!"), I wouldn't care. Dude can say whatever he wants. I just want the player.
It's been 16 years since I moved to Columbus, but I grew up and spent the first almost 30 years of my life in Cincinnati. During my time there, Cincy was not a Buckeye hating city. By my estimation it was Buckeyes first, ND second, and then anybody else who was playing well among fans.
And geese ruin everything!
I live in Cincinnati (Springdale) and if I wear my OSU hat out during football season, it never fails, at least one person comments on how they think "Ohio State sucks". This most recently happened at a Kroger. The guy was wearing a UK shirt, so of course I just looked at his shirt, looked at him, back at his shirt, back at him, and just laughed.
This city is fractured when it comes to sports.
Without a major college team, there are going to be split loyalties for sure. But I guess maybe things have changed. I grew up in Wyoming, bought my first house in Finneytown, and later moved to Milford. I wore Buckeye gear probably daily, and never experienced anything but "Go Bucks" or "O-H".
Jealousy is a bitch. At least they have their Reds to comfort them.
m GO BLOW!!!
I want to be clear: I love and respect Cincinnati the city. Like every other big city it has its drawbacks but overall it's uniquely American for better or worse. Tons of great (and some not so great) history down there. I've made my "Give Cincinnati to Kentucky" jokes but no longer. I would never forsake the Queen City to those bums.
I will roast their sports fans until the day I die though.
Los Angeleno by birth; Marionaire by the Grace of President Warren G. Harding.
I've lived in Sharonville, Clifton and now Madisonville and the only time I've caught shit for wearing OSU gear is when I attended UC and had class with football players. It was never anything negative, they'd just tell me I should support my school. Outside of those few interactions, it's been nothing but love.
It’s disappointing you picked a few bearcat/bengal fan tweets and implied that was the sentiment of the Cincy bengal fans. 5 tweets does not make the fan base.
Check the original tweet responses. I could have kept going.
Urban went to UC. And you have plenty of Cincinnatians on this site. Let's not cite the lunatic fringe as the norm when the real villains are the vocal minority of Toledo residents who root for TTUN.
Agreed. The internet's a very large place. One can always cherry-pick a few statements (or, heck, a few hundred/thousand), and, using some faulty logic (and ignoring other variables), reach the conclusion you want. Everyone I've spoken to this morning is ecstatic about the pick. I'd say people should check the glowing write-ups of the pick in the Enquirer, team site, etc., but even those aren't really great summaries of the city's consensus.
Here's an example: I have several friends who are Browns fans that were disappointed with the Ward pick. Does it follow that Browns fans necessarily hate the Buckeyes? No. Candidly, I'd be disappointed with the pick, too, as I just don't think Ward is a top-5 pick (as much as I loved him at OSU). Do I hate the Buckeyes? No.
Here's the truth: there are definitely some folks in Cincinnati who don't like OSU. But, overall, in football, it's OSU first, Notre Dame a close second, a significant gap before UC (and, candidly, most UC fans also follow OSU), followed by a significant gap before a number of SEC/ACC teams. That's not surprising because Cincinnati has actual college sports teams in town, which, shockingly, have students who like their respective school.
Also, I look forward to having this exact same debate in another month, as is tradition. Someone will hurl an unnecessary dig at Cincinnati with little or no factual support. I will respond with an objective assessment. I will be told that I am wrong based on someone who talked to a guy in Cincy (or maybe Indianapolis/Lexington; which is pretty much the same thing if you've never left Northern Ohio) while driving through in the 90s one time -- legitimate sources and actual data be damned. Then rinse and repeat.
Until that day...
Pickerington is now a Columbus suburb? It has 20,000 people?
Neither of those were true when I lived in Ohio, Pickerington had 5,000 & was a farm town. I’m kind of shocked.
There are Pickeringtons all over country, sleepy little towns on the fringes of big cities that are attracting young families who are willing to invest in infrastructure and education, which attract more young families fleeing older communities that have peaked. It takes a few years for the kids to grow up and often times a second high school to accommodate the rapid growth, which creates a rivalry that further stimulates the community’s competitiveness. And not just in sports.
Waukee is a Des Moines suburb that had 5,100 people in 2000 and close to 20,000 today. Its high school is a burgeoning powerhouse and it recently passed a referendum to build a second high school. Johnston is another suburb following the same path: it had 8,500 people in 2000 and up to 21,000 today.
My older brother bought a house there. It only recently showed up on google satellite view.
This just in... Shea Patterson is the front runner for the coveted September Heisman.
It's not the April Heisman. Those comments are so Michigan.
The best QB in the conference will be between whomever we decide to start and Trace McSorley.
Now the April Heisman.
Maybe Cincy doesn't like Columbus due to all the New Yorkers moving here? (Per WMD)
Someday, there will be cranky old central Ohioans screaming, “Hey, youse kids—get aff my yawd!”
Congrat's Denzel Ward. You are a beast and I can't wait to watch you play for my favorite NFL team.
1. It's good to see Buckeyes as the cynosure of Cleveland and Cincinnati; skeptics will get over it when Price and Ward do for their teams what Lattimore, Elflein, Linsley, et al, did for their teams.
2. Experience Columbus's PR firm says the city is thriving. Glad to see New Yorkers get the word.
My man is smooth like Barry, and he's a defensive ace.
A body like Arnold with a Denzel face.
New Yorkers moving to Columbus, but not to Samaritan House...lol.
Here is what you can expect, from what my dad did when sober: Bitching about the pizza, italian food, and hero sandwiches. Devouring Flying Pizza if it's still there. (Thank god JHC is no longer there).
Fly Pie on High Street and Be them Rd are gone, but it sounds like your Pop had great taste in pizza.
Good news is there are other spots in Dayton and NE Cinci.
With 2 first rounders for OSU and only one for USC, I believe we broke the tie for most first rounders drafted all time.
According to SI, USC now leads OSU 81-79: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/04/26/colleges-schools-first-round-draft-pic...
The article I read yesterday had OSU and USC tied at 62. I'm guessing SI might be including AFL/NFL picks as well?
Update: yes, that's the discrepancy. USC has the most since 1936, but to claim bragging rights we can say we have the most in the common-draft era.
Why the red ball nose on Goodell? it just perpetuates my opinion that all those redneck morons booing last night were annoying as hell. That being said, I like the Brown's draft so far, and as far as Patterson being eligible this season, it won't matter--I can't wait for Bosa and the Rushmen to welcome him to Cbus.
Those weren't rednecks, they were predominantly Dallas suburbanites.
And every city boos Goodell. It's a tradition because he's clown shoes with a powerful daddy.
Those weren't rednecks, they were predominantly Dallas suburbanites.
Are those two things mutually exclusive? Property value seems to be pretty cheap down in the Longhorn State (though I assume it's higher in/around Dallas than in some areas).
Real estate (even outside of Dallas proper) is no longer a bargain. There are "cheap" places, but its not like Dayton or Toledo (or even some suburbs of Cleveland and Cincy).
Yeah, those weren't rednecks. And the fans in Dallas have good reason to boo Goodell.
The red nose is some sort of kids charity thing. I only know because I saw a display at a check out counter last night.
Heck, I thought DJ photo-shopped that on for our amusement! lol
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
The red ball nose on Goodell is because it's the natural outfit for a clown.
Goodell is a clown destroying the NFL. He needs to go.
Man do I dislike Cincinnati and that vomit slop they call "chili"
So humans tracked and killed huge sloths thousands of years ago. Sounds about right.
Seems to me that Baker at 1 was unnecessary, but if 4 would have been too late then so be it. I may be in of the few who thinks Saquon was taken too high also. He was mostly shackled in huge games, and I don't see how he could hold up in the NFL playing as many snaps as he did in State College. He won't be able to run/catch every down and still be a major return guy as well. Good luck Giants keeping him healthy.
Billy Price, prove the Cincy haters wrong and be the man.
As for geese, steer clear whenever possible.
"They say, "these geeks come a dime a dozen. I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes." -Classy Freddie Blassie
You're definitely not alone on your Barkley take. I agree with it, and have had quite a few conversations with others who agree as well. And for the same reasons. He just wasn't great in big games. Additionally his highlight tape is full of long touchdown runs, but it seemed to me that he didn't do much in between those big runs. For example, he had a 35 yarder against the Buckeyes last year, and finished the game with 38 yards on 22 carries.
So it isn’t just me. That Buckeyes game Saquon was completely bottled up save for that run. Other big games he did little. Long td runs certainly help, but at that level you meed to bring it on all downs-no more playing Maryland or Illinois anymore.
He was pretty darn good in 2015 and 2016.
As a Bengals fan, I will say that I can't stand most Bengals fans that are actually from Cincinnati.
Buck-I-Guy defended himself by saying he missed the sign declaring the photo for former coaches and players only.
If you continue to think what you always thought, you will continue to get what you always got. #AlumforStaff
Happy to have him but he can leave that brand in Columbus
Yeah, you wouldn't want to become winners. F that... continue to be mired in mediocrity. The most dangerous combination in life is to be arrogant and stupid. Both UC and the Bengals are arrogant and stupid. Just to be clear, Cinci, you're football losers. That's not me opining, that's just the fact of the matter. When a part of one of the five most storied, tradition-laden and winning programs in college football history wants to bring some of that magic with him to your shitty program, well, people who aren't arrogant and stupid would say, "Bring it, Billy Price... we need some of what OSU has." But, as I said and as their tweets prove, Cincinnati is ARROGANT AND STUPID.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
It turns out Josh Rosen does not have Amir Williams disease. He is quite salty. Like Mayfield.
May I ask, what is “Amir Williams disease”?
I'd look it up, but that requires effort so I'll just stare off blanky into space for a while.
His comments about being taken at 10 confirmed my suspicions about him. He's Jay Cutler 2.0. Talented passer, but a headcase that needs to be steered clear of.
I stayed up and watched Rosen play. I think he is big time gamer. Jt's best games against Michigan State in 2014 and last year with Penn State are how he played all the time. And I am with JT and not a hater.
I didn't like the attempted flag plant, either.
Actually....what we all didn't like.....was how he and his team basically whipped our team like bitches that night in September in the 2nd half. The flag planting was just a middle finger wagging at us that we couldn't do anything about.
Yea but i didn't like the flag plant either
Great pick with Ward; wait and see about #1.
Hope there's room on that jersey for 2 more names, although it seems to be missing some

Not to worry the Brownies got their franchise quarterback at #1, quick first steps and it takes three armed men to bring him down.
Scouting film to support my statement. Johnny 2.0
"CAN THEY CATCH HIM - NO THEY CAN'T - TOUCHDOWN"
Listening to that, you can hear him asking if he's done, them saying yes, then him leaving. Am I missing something? He's not slurring his speech or anything.
I think at about 1:20 when he's saying he didn't do anything and they said "no you're just the dumb ass that tried to run"
They call it cinci-tucky for a reason. Scum just wont admit Patterson sucked against good competition and will make him the heisman front runner.

"We'd wipe the floor with them" - Evan Spencer
I don’t think anyone is saying that, we’re just saying the ratio of people who dislike Ohio State is much, much higher in Cincinnati than the majority of cities in Ohio.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Toledo would like a word with you. enough Xaize and Blue, White and Green, and Gold and Blue/Green around here to clean up after a circus.
Everything that happens-good and bad-should motivate you to be persistent. ~JT
Fuck Cincinnati.....the only thing this city lacks.....a Pro Football team,Pro Baseball team and air port in Ohio.........and for the record you have been "Ohio State Branded "...... Go Bucks
My thoughts exactly M5. I was at the draft party @ Paul Brown last night and the place exploded when they called out Prices name. I was actually yelling the Price is right moments before they called his name. A lot of us Bengals fans were high fiving and yelling O-H and who-dey. He will be a fan favorite in Cincy for many many years to come.
"Rest easy Woody theres a new sheriff in town"
I don't get what the problem is down in Cincinnati..... And Buck-I-Guy can kiss my ass, I think he's a fuckin lier and I'm surprised he didn't sign the sign too then send it an invoice.
I think most Bengals fans realize this was a great pick. For those that didn't like Billy saying he couldn't wait to bring the Buckeye brand of football to Cincy, I'd say it is a good thing. The Bengals have played a UC brand of football for too long. Let's have some winning tradition!
Interesting fact--the Bengals have drafted 29 Buckeyes in their history, more than from any other CFB team. Recent history though, I don't think is very Buckeye-centric. Marvin has been infatuated with SEC players. Case in point: Jeremy Hill over Carlos Hyde--how'd that word out? Not very well!
I gave Denzel some smack for not playing in the Cotton Bowl, but I still love the guy and wish him the best of luck as a Brownie.
He will get to intercept Mayfield everyday in practice. He should enjoy that.
A lot of people gave Denzel some smack.....but it is the way of the future for non-playoff games....regardless of how we feel.
"Oh Garsh", and here I just get hung up on that honor thing.
Another pro-style, non-mobile QB in Ann Arbor? Jake Rudock 2.0? Yes, please.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
Patterson is really mobile. Looking at his film, he actually seems to be a perfect fit for the Ohio State offense, not Michigan’s. I think he’ll end up as the best Michigan quarterback under Harbaugh, but that won’t guarantee any major victories.
I need to see how the Michigan line plays first. If they can't run the ball the forecast on Patterson goes down. He's good, but he's not a Braxton Miller type that can tilt the entire offensive side of the ball.
Thanks for the update on his being mobile, I didn't realize. I guess it was to do with the system there, but I had looked at his stats with Ole Miss and assumed he was a pro-style QB without a lot of mobility.
Ol' hatin-ass UC fans... don't they know The brand is bulletproof.
I've said it many times on here - the only teams with a pulse that She(sic) Patterson has played, he's thrown many interceptions and far less TD's.
Against Cal, Bama, Auburn, LSU, he had 4 TDs and 8 INTs.
That means he had 13 TDs and 1 INT against South Alabama, UT Martin, and Vandy. Whooopadeedoooo!
EDIT: stats from 2017, before injury
Browns taking Mayfield as the first pick is karmatic justice for the douche of the decade. He gets to be another name on the infamous jersey.
PG <3 PG
I actually hope Patterson makes TTUN better. It makes beating them mean more.
Not convinced Mayfield is the guy. Not sure Sam Darnold or Josh Allen are either. At least Josh Rosen showed some fire in his nostrils by being pissed he was the 4th QB drafted but I'm not even sold on him either. All 4 of those QBs could be busts and Lamar Jackson become the star. He was drafted by Ozzie Newsome afterall.
You know, it must be miserable being Shawn Martin, talking shit and knowing that's all you have, that your overpaid, overrated coach cannot develop or recruit a QB.
It’d be stupid of me to deny there aren’t people in Cincinnati that don’t care for Ohio State, but I feel like you’re kind of cherry picking some of those tweets. Plenty of Buckeye fans in that fine city.
Oh, I definitely cherry picked the tweets but as you said, the anti-Buckeye sentiment, while a minority, is still a sizable one that can't be ignored.
Besides, nobody wants to read 10,000 draft opinions from yokels to start their day. They will listen to about five, though.
Can't believe I got the ban hammer for calling the biggest douchebag in the world....well, a douchebag. Not cool, 11W, not cool....
but we move on.
It's incredible that the Buckeyes continue to be the pipeline for NFL teams, year after year. how many do people project the Buckeyes would send to the NFL for next year's draft? seems like the team consists of lots of underclassmen who may not declare early.
