Not Tressel , but this was gold, Earl was all of us, at some point.
McCoy said Earle Bruce would stand up while watching the Ohio State game on TV and tell What are you doing? ... And by you, he wasnt talking about J.T. Barrett. One time, Earle proceeded to call Urban Meyer (who was unable to answer) in the middle of the game.

ONE Not Done!
This is exactly what I wanted to hear. I absolutely love the image that story gives us.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
That's gold. And that's the Buckeye in every one of us that we loved in him.
I really want to live in a world where Urban has a prank voicemail (Archer style).
"He was always going to be there for us"
That's Ohio State...that's the enduring memory of Coach Bruce.
Beautiful eulogy from Coach Tressel.
I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...
What a wonderful theme and class act as always! Thank you again Tress!! And God bless you too.
My love for the Buckeyes was solidified with the Earle Bruce Show and the Sunday replays.
"Most Noahs have two of everything, he's got four tonight" - Gus Johnson on Noah Brown's 4 TD catches against Oklahoma.
Gotta love Coach Tressel!
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” - Mark Twain
Great eulogy...and so forth

Coach Tressel. The standard of excellence I aspire to yet likely will never reach. Then, now and always.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Absolutely, the man is the very definition of class.
Shandy is not beer
I didn't need to watch the film to know that Tress delivered a great eulogy, but I'm glad I did anyway.
I think you're wit is underappreciated.
Amen, NB. I love Earle on 11W almost as much as I loved Earle coaching the Bucks.
“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” – Theodore Roosevelt
Appreciate the kind words.
I guess humor is its own reward, but I thank you all the same, NB.
That understanding that even as the head coach, Tressel was still a pupil of, still coaching for, Earle Bruce. I don't think Coach Meyer has used those exact words, but he's expressed a similar feeling. That epitomizes his legacy, his importance to Ohio State football.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
Tress will be remember the same way as Coach Bruce. A true Buckeye no matter where life takes you.
Forever my favorite Buckeye Coach, if Coach Tress thinks Earle was a great man, then so do I! God Bless Coach Tressel and Coach Bruce.
Very classy and fitting. Coach you are and will be missed.
Mark May is a mental midget
Without ever meeting him, Coach Tressel is one of the most influential people in my life. And from hearing this eulogy, you can see how Coach Tress continued two principles maintained by Coach Bruce: 1. hold a special place for Ohio high school football 2. run off tackle :) I appreciate the loyalty and sense of community created by folks like Bruce and Tress, all done in simple and humble ways.
I feel like Coach Meyer is going to have the boys ready this season as he too will continually reflect on the lessons taught by Earl Bruce.
Coach Tressel hit that one out of the park!
I love the Vest - great job Coach

Coach Tressel is truly a class act. The respect he deserves cannot be overstated. Not surprising to hear the applauds from the crowd as he spoke. Great coach and great mentor for sure.
Buckeye born and bred.
