Only a 17 point loss, that isn't good enough. Should have much much more.
Agreed. I was yelling at my TV with a few minutes left saying, "Don't give up easy baskets! Make sure it looks like a massacre!"
Meanwhile, over at mgoblog, half of their game thread comments are blaming bad officiating for the loss. It's hilarious.
My social media this morning is all TTUN fans whining about the officiating. They lost by 17 in a game they had no business being in. But its totally the refs fault
If they think a 17 point loss is the refs fault, they are more delusional than I thought. PATHETIC!!!!!!!
Maybe that fan base should take a page out of their coaches comments. He hits the nail on the head. Like I said, it happens
"Even if we had played our best," Beilein added, "it would have been very difficult to win that game with what DiVincenzo did. It was an incredible performance. Sometimes those individual performances just beat you, and you just say, 'OK, we played you the best we could, and tonight, you were better than us.'"
Michigan Athletics is really comedic. I saw they were accusing Villanova of cheating and paying players because apparently Michigan/Bielien is the only school that does it the "right way". They do the same thing in football too, accusing Ohio State of paying players anytime we win a game or score a big recruit... lmao anytime there is a program better then theirs, it must be because of cheating and anytime they lose, it must be because of the refs. Michigan has the most snobby and pussy fanbase of all time.

Villanova missed a LOT of layups. Could have been a 25 point loss.
EDIT: Also, as per usual, I have my Helmet Stickers ready for anyone sharing links or copy-and-pastes of MGo's sad sad comments.

Don't have any MGo's for ya, but I do have this:
Ohio State Engineering - Class of 2015
I'll allow it. +1
Hell yeah, I was so pumped to see Mgo Down!!! Pissed they made it this far but the universe righted itself with a proper beat down of the skunk weasels.
What pisses me off is the fact that I got my days mixed up and thought that game was on tonight..I effin missed it!! =*(
Easter food coma?
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
I missed it too--but OSU wasn't playing. Watching TTUN (even when they lose) isn't must-see TV for me. ;)
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Actually pretty sweet they made it to the very end and then got dropped at the alter again. Always will be second or worse.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Easiest path in the tournament. Think I saw they played the lowest seeds ever to make it to the final. a 14, 6, 7, 9, 11 -- something like that.
And they needed a buzzer beater basket to beat Houston in the opening weekend IIRC.
Here we come dabo !!

You see complaints from players all the time about whether they got fouled, didn't get fouled or that they didn't commit the foul. That's normal, but I've been watching Movogner a lot this year and he's always complaining, no matter what did or didn't happen. Every single time. It was good to see him quiet (finally) at the end of the game.

IMO a priceless part of Thee Rivalry... are the few things that are greater than that rivalry.
Honesty & Integrity are one.
IMO, the health and growth of the B1G is another.
Finally, my personal desires, IMO, do not contribute to the greatness of Thee Rivalry... but my behavior can detract from it.
That baker response is what I would expect from any self respecting man of any age. You wanna sock me? Best be prepared to get it back, ten fold.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I'm kinda hoping that what he said happened was the PG-13 response, and that the coach wished he wore his brown pants.
And btw, that pic of the Villanova mascot reminds me a little bit of Goldie gopher and what the Penn St mascot wanted to be, but failed miserably.
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.

I want to send a big thank you to the Wildcats for making my day today much more pleasant. Michigan played one good team the entire tournament and got smoked. I can now go about my business without having to see a bunch of walmart wolverines prancing around like they didn't just start to get excited about basketball a month ago.
Even though they played nobody, I still don’t know how they got this far. That damn 3 ball in the second round never should have dropped and they would have been home after the first weekend.
Purdue dropped 92 on the bums, and Nova made them their bitch. Now I hope to god that Wagner goes pro as he may well be my most disliked hoops player ever, with Abdur-Rahkman not far behind.
"They say, "these geeks come a dime a dozen. I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes." -Classy Freddie Blassie
Cannot upvote this enough on the Wagner comment. Joakim Noah, Act II. Limited talent, a big boar, gets his 15 seconds of fame to never be heard from again for all his antics to bring attention to himself.
I don't hate Wagner as much as I hated Noah, but I also haven't seen as much of him. He's still one of my most hated. I'm glad he got put in his place last night. Hopefully he goes pro, where he will be mediocre at best and we will never have to hear from him again.
Yeah they honestly had no business getting past Houston in Round 2. After they missed that FT Houston jut panicked and didn't even play defense for that last shot. Then their entire bracket was nothing but upsets - Xavier, UNC, OSU and Gonzaga all got taken out early leaving them a pillow soft route to the F4, where they met another team who was the beneficiary of upsets in Loyola.
But, I really don't think it would have mattered who Villanova played, nobody was gong to beat them. They won all 6 tournament games by at least 12 points, that's incredible.
I would agree 92. It would have taken a herculean effort by someone to beat Nova the way they were playing. Something close to what 1985 Villanova did to Patrick Ewing and Georgetown. Wildcats were simply playjng so well, and a pretender like the skunk weasels really had little to no chance.
You guys are all over it - Villanova was just on another level and a TTUN beatdown made them even better in my karma book.

I am not sure what to say about the beautiful woman wmd however. Started reading it expecting to not be able to understand, and I suppose I didn’t since I have never been a beautiful woman. I will say however that when at the end she mentions that eventually old women become invisible, that was sad. I have long been of the opinion that any 20 year old can look good, but a woman in her 30’s, 40’s or whatever older age is more impressive.
An embarassment of riches at qb. Let Tate run, let Haskins throw, and maybe let Joe do both.
My ex is a truly beautiful woman, she had a job during our 8 year relationship she had almost no qualifications to have, she went from kindergarten teacher to running a privately owned pharmacy with about 17 stores and 40 pharmacist, she was good but I still believe and so does she that her looks got her the job. I am average at best and we could go to restaurants together and never wait for a seat, I would take a client and they would act like they had never seen me even the females, which they probably never noticed me, one difference though is women loved her, they would come up to her in public and tell her she was pretty. She is in her mid 40's and she sent me a message on facebook they other day and she is as beautiful as ever
The WMD about beautiful women was interesting. Like you, I can't relate. It made sense based on my observations though. I think she expressed the fact that being attractive certainly opened doors for her, and thats all that people usually see. In reality, with that, comes some drawbacks as well. I remember in high school through my mid 20's the attractive women that I knew always came with a heavy dose of personal problems. I have also observed that the harshest people women have to deal with is generally other women. I thought it was interesting that she mentioned that being beautiful is a lot like being rich. People only see the exterior and tend to discount the fact that those people have hardships in life as well. As for turning invisible, from my perspective, it makes sense. I got married 3 years ago and have been with my wife for 6, and other than her I pay beautiful women no mind anymore. I don't think its intentional, or even an indictment on womens looks in relation to aging as much as it is that I don't care about physical appearance anymore. Like a dog that grew out of the puppy stage and stopped chasing cars because he realized that even if he caught it, he couldn't drive it.
Hard to feel sorry for a woman who got addicted to all the things her beauty provided but lacked the foresight to see that it would come to an end when age took it away.
I didn't find it hard to feel sorry for her. We all get caught up in our situations, and I for one have had advantages in life just because of the fortunate lot I was born into. It's good to have empathy for others.

I read that beautiful woman wmd and all i could think was "thank god im a mgtow."
It was quite an eloquent demonstration of all sorts of things Rollo talks about at The Rational Male.

I didn't watch the second half. I saw all I needed in the first. As stated in the forum, Michigan at their ceiling, Villanova not, and ahead. Game, set, match.
I turned it off at halftime also thinking there’s no doubt about what was going down in the 2nd half. Too old & tired to enjoy it - I’m sad.
Didn't watch the game at all...didn't need to.
Let's turn our attention to the Frozen Four, shall we?
Go Puckeyes, and may the rival fall short again.
Sometimes you have to appreciate athletic greatness in all forms w/out putting a tOSU shirt on it-watching a squad of 4-5 NBA first rounders completely ball out on scUM was inspiring..............................
I wore the 11W "beat blue banana" shirt for the occasion. I thought it was very appropriate hahaha
The announcers gave a shout-out to Jerry Lucas, comparing Omari Spellman's two-handed rebounding technique favorably to his.
I think I can take him, even if he gets in the first cyber-punch!
Hope we never decend to the distinction that blow has of 4 straight title game losses !
*Totally enjoyed how far our bballrs went this season, & looking forward to C. Holtmann getting his cruits into his system !
GO BUCKS !
So glad Nova beat them. But, I will give credit where credit is due. Outside of last night, ttun came to play in the Big Ten tournament and the NCAA tournament. Now, I did say they would waltz to the final four with the bracket they were in, I did not think they would waltz to the freakin title game though. They were just way overmatched last night.
My goal is to stay gruntled today.
Nice use of the word MN and DJ! Brought a smile to my face this rainy Tuesday morning.
The pain of discipline or the pain of regret, take your pick
Would’ve been a better word of the day.
I think all is right with the world again. TTUN fans actually thought they had a chance. They probably did, until an amazing athlete named Dontre DiVincenzo came off the bench to score 31 pts.
That guy had to have played volleyball at some point. He had two spectacular blocks. Good as the two hand stuff of Matthews was, the one where he pinned it against the rim with his leftvhand and almost dislodged it with his right was even better.
The Shop needs to add these guys to the mix.
That was my first thought. Is Eddie suing Lebron?

I cannot tell you how many minds that have been blown when I told people that the old white man in that movie was Eddie, too. People still dont believe it. Or read the ending credits.

Still one of my favorite movies of all time. Eddie and Arsenio were hilarious in that movie.
I’m even thinking of Floyd’s barber shop in the Andy Griffith Show, but I don’t care. Go LeBron, beat Bama!
I just finished reading that WMD about cops becoming robbers. Seems to me, Baltimore is the new Chicago as far as government corruption. No way that police task force operated for that long or that brazenly without a bunch of other people being in on it. And if the states attorney Mosby is in charge, theres corruption on both sides of the law in that one. Shes the one that blew up the case in Freddy Grays death. Thanks to her actions we will never know the truth about what happened there.
Government sanctioned gangs? NOPD used to be pretty scary too.
Yeah man, even as a law abiding citizen living there I was fearful of the NOPD.
And if the states attorney Mosby is in charge, theres corruption on both sides of the law in that one. Shes the one that blew up the case in Freddy Grays death. Thanks to her actions we will never know the truth about what happened there.
She definitely makes me uneasy. Just something about the way she operates.
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land...
Perhaps Meyer’s praise is aimed at getting the fan base prepared for when Tate wins this competition.
If these other guys have not separated yet, it may indeed be his to lose
Bammers need to change the venue from a barbershop to a men's store. They all have been there and have good memories from having a suit given to them with money already sewn into the pockets.
Bama better cut that shit out!
I just read that the last time a team won the semifinal and final by at least 16 was UCLA in 1968. Thanks, Michigan.
DiVincenzo channeled his inner Troy Smith and it was glorious, straight up Wolverine Killer, dagger after dagger.
“Some Ohio State writers yearn to be respected on both sides of "The Rivalry." Not me. I'd gleefully heckle a Wolverine t-ball team. Michigan losing is my second favorite team, and I will never apologize for that”.
Lke your style DJ!!!!!
That interview with Will Ferrell was hilarious.
TTUN still sucks !!
I didn't really care one way or the other about the game last night, they aren't a rival in basketball, we don't have one of those. But there was no way anyone was going to beat Villanova. They absolutely clobbered everyone they played in the tournament - their closest game was 12 points. And Michigan just because the latest B1G team to come up 1 game short. That's the 7th time now since MSU's 2000 title.
The only thing that would have made me feel better, outside of a Buckeye win, would have been Nova beating them 100-0.
Im deffinetly in the same boat.. I could care less about basketball when it comes down to it. Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least hoping Nova would win just so I wouldn't have to deal with the arrogance of scUM fans.
I'm just happy we all didn't wake up to the headlines of "TTUN national champions." The only thing I'd be ok with them winning a national championship at is hot dog eating with their captain Brady Hoke. That would be too hilarious. I'd root for Brady in that instance.
So anytime anyone films a show of athletes talking at a barbershop they are going to get a cease and desist order from LaBron? I hate Bama and its institution as much as the next guy but I wouldn't mind seeing them tell him to shove it. That's total BS.
Cannot wait until the spring game. I want to see Martell throw the ball downfield before I jump on his bandwagon. As for Burrow, if he transfers and Baldwin doesnt recover from his knee surgery until next year we are all of a sudden going to be down to only 2 active scholarship QBs. Urban is going to play this as close to the vest as he can to keep all 3 QBs if he can.
It's the name of the show - the premise of the show is exactly the same, but they can get away with that. But they chose a name that is way too close - that's why Lebron and his people are going after them.
It's no different from OSU shutting down Et tu Brute'.
B10 BB must not have been as bad as many thought. Their 4th best team made it to the finals where they played like the 4th best. . . but at least made it.
Michigan losing is my second favorite team, and I will never apologize for that.
This 1000x over!!!
Urban Meyer, undefeated (7-0) VS ttun | Ryan Day, undefeated (2-0) vs ttun
*As always, In (Urban) Ryan Day I Trust! There is a plan, even if we cannot see it right now!
God, Family, Guns, Country, and Sports!
Nothing against Tate but I am not at all feeling positive about the fascination with the running QB. All the bad things seem to correlate with going to many times to the well of the Q-run. The remarks about Tate feel like a recipe for more bad things. How about we go with the guy who creates the best vertical passing game? The vertical passing game that let's us run the ball with the running-backs.
I agree with you, but a running q.b. is part of the Meyer system. That’s why of the three q.b.’s, Haskins is not the best fit for the system. I’m not taking anything away from Haskins, I’m speaking to the kind of q.b. Meyer uses in his system.
If Tate is a homerun threat every time he keeps I will absolutely get on board. My understanding of the system is that you want whatever choice the defense makes to be "wrong" and if the QB isn't as much of threat to take it to the house as the tailback we get the mess we've been seeing.
My issue at the moment is largely philosophical. Meyer's system seems to me a small school "these are the eleven guys we have to live and die with" system but he's trying to run it in the context of a big school wealth of riches way and in doing so showing which answer is least wrong. Tate at QB or even with packages in a *****shudder****** two QB system seems like an express train to more of that.
Same. It really worries me that they keep talking up the QB running game given that you can trace roughly half of Ohio State's losses in the Urban era to "the RB didn't get enough carries because the QB ran the ball too much, then the offense bogged down".
I get the value of a mobile QB, but the problem with having one is that the coaching staff used JT's running ability as a crutch. Any time a game got close, it turned into zone read, zone read, zone read...which means that the defense gets the choice to say "no, we'd really prefer if your QB ran the ball rather than a future NFL draft pick RB (Zeke, Samuel, Weber/Dobbins)".
Cannot stand TTUN in any sport at any level. I would vehemently cheer against them in women's darts. Thank you, Villanova.
Right there with you!!!
I cheered against my 9 year old nieces soccer team because they wore blue and yellow.
I will not even allow our blue and yellow cereal bowls to be stacked together.
TTUN's women's darts team sucks.
HAHAHAHHAHAH TTUN got it handed to them last night. They got exposed for their easy path to the title game and the way they barely scraped through it at times. The fact that they became the first team to make it to the championship game without having to face a top 5 seed is just disgusting. I'm supposed to be impressed by them barely surviving the easiest path to a title game in tournament history? Guess what - I'm not. I knew they were going to get exposed, they were going to get smoked, they were going to get embarrassed, they were going to be humiliated, and they were going to be humbled. They simply are not on that Final Four level. I guess when the top seeds in your region get picked apart, and then you get an 11 seed in the national semifinal that was bound to run out of gas (Loyola was a great story, but much like George Mason and the other really lowly seeded Final Four teams, they ran out of gas at that point), you can play mediocre basketball and luck up just enough when you need to to get to the Final Four.
Granted, Villanova was the best team in the tournament - nobody was going to beat them - but Nova did it shooting a pretty average percentage from 3 and with Brunson on the bench, in foul trouble, not that much of a factor for the most part. That DiVincenzo kid is good. I wasn't shocked that he was a huge factor...wasn't exactly expecting 31 points from him, though. He'd be a starter for 99.5% of other teams in the nation.
Class of 2010.
The Ferrell-Phoenix interview is an engaging read. The funniest line of it may be this one at the end (is it a byline?):
WILL FERRELL IS A LOS ANGELES–BASED ACTOR, COMEDIAN, AND PRODUCER.
Not sure why but it gave me a chuckle.
I once handed Archie Griffin the keys to his loaner car.
Thank you Nova!!
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
Ah, if my Buckeyes can't be in the championship game - at least TTUN got their asses kicked all game long.
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Is Tate Martell really "notoriously capricious"?
Decommits from 2 different schools in your recruiting process will get you that rep, like it or not.
I know he decommitted from A&M, what was the other program?
Doesn't LeBron tire of having Maverick Carter leech off his notoriety? First "the Decision", "produced" by Maverick and Co., now this. Let your posse put in their own work.
Maverick Carter is actually very successful in his own right. Granted, being childhood friends with Lebron opened a lot of doors for him. But he has more than carried his share of the weight in the Lebron James empire.
LeBron could find 1,500 Maverick Carter's to do whatever Maverick does. Maverick couldn't find another superstar to leverage being his posse partner.
I read this book https://www.harpercollins.com/9780062384331/the-maximum-security-book-club last year, about a British lady running a book club at a maximum security prison in Maryland. It's a good read as much for the culture clash and the narrator facing her preconceptions of the inmates-both good and bad as it is for any 'insight" about literature or what not.
It is the day after the One Shining Moment Game and the Big Ten still sucks ! The Big Ten should drop men’s basketball. It is a sorry conference whose teams have not won the Big Game in a generation ! Last night was the latest in an embarrassing series of championship losses. Given all of the great resources at the disposal of Big Ten schools and not one can field a winning men’s basketball team in 20 years. Pathetic !
Actually wasn’t an embarrassment, last night was glorious.
Someone apparently lost a lot in Vegas...
MSU won in 2000 or 2001-just sayin............................
I don't think you understand what a "winning men's basketball team" is.
Twitter is evil.
Will Ferrell's comments downplaying social media are kind of interesting being he just made a fairly big deal in the news and on his Facebook Page of how he was opting out of Facebook in the wake of the Cambridge Analytics issue, and was leaving his post up for 72 hours for his big news to disseminate. Liked him in him earlier movies, but he is in a bit of an Adam Sanders-like slump
