Get paid big fella!! I won’t blame him if he takes a dip.
Keep fighting CalPoppy

Very nice, get that money! As a Cowboys fan this sucks cause it means Martin is about to get paid more most likely making it even harder for the Boys to ever do anything in FA.
Nah, just drop Dez next offseason.
Jerry Jones makes these decisions, which means smart decisions rarely get made.

I bet Leonard Fournette is not displeased with this development.

I love it I have Fournette on my dynasty team.
Wow! Congrats to Norwell
I've always been interested in Norwell's career because for the life of me I can not figure our how he wasn't drafted. He was a 5 star recruit, has always had great size and talent, was a multi year starter with a successful career at Ohio State, and then went on to become an All-Pro and now he's the highest paid OL in the NFL, but somehow he wasn't worth a draft pick for any team? It blows my mind.
Maybe because @ OSU, he didn’t bite as a pup.
In addition to that, he wasn't even invited to the combine. He had plenty of chips he could put on his shoulder.
"Great moments are born from great opportunities." - Herb Brooks
Norwell's used to money, graduating from my alma mater Anderson High School in beautiful Cincinnati. So it's not the money, it's the love of the God Damn game. Dez can only imagine what that's all about. I think everyone focused on Mewhort. Same things gonna happen with Jamarco. Way underrated.

Super job big fella
Just another success story from the Buckeye Tree
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

Take Your Pick
Agreed - those roots are deep in tradition
Thirty million guaranteed....he's gonna need bigger pockets.
Was hoping he'd end up on the Bengals but...lol like they'd ever spend that kind of money
Class of 2010.
Agree. The Bengals getting Cordy Glenn simply for switching 1st rounders w/ the Bills was great move, tho. No OTs really worth the #9 overall pick, now they have a quality OT.
I try to look optimistically at the trade (because on its face it is a no-brainer), but then I see Glenn can be cut after the 2018 season with no cap hit (or guaranteed money). And Mike Brown is going to Mike Brown.
What's bad about having the option to cut Glenn if things don't work out? It is true that Brown prefers to pay his own players, as opposed to overspending on FAs, although that is essentially what this trade is, a FA pickup.
I think that is a plus. It gives the team flexibility.
The Bengals usually don't cut players--that is one draw for folks to go there--although they may not pick up options (looking at you PacMan), they usually see the contract through. One reason for folks to not go there is that it's the Bengals. (and I am a fan)
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Mike Brown doesn't just prefer to "pay his own players." He prefers to leave between $10MM and $20MM on the table (below the salary cap) every single year (look it up). That goes into this pocket. Meanwhile that is two quality starters that Cincinnati doesn't sign. You think they would have come in handy over the last several years when the Bengals were a player or two away from making a leap (or winning a playoff game)?
His moves are strategic. Not to win games, but to maximize his annual dividend.
That he's related to Paul Brown never ceases to amaze me.

Can't wait to see Michigan try to spin this into a poster to send to recruits:
The Michigan Difference: we play in the same conference that the highest paid G in the NFL did when he was in college
A man got to have a code...
You beat me to it. Oh, they’ll try and spin it.

With a guard getting that kind of money it will interesting to see what the tackles get.
The pay scale might be evening out a bit. DTs are having a bigger impact on pass rushing with the Aaron Donald types and running is becoming more important again as well. A Guard that keeps the QB upright and provides yards for the RB is worth the cash, especially for a team like Jacksonville that is on the cusp of bigger things and just invested a top 5 pick on a RB with a history of injury problems.
Ohio State: The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
It's true. Guards are becoming more valuable each year, and right now Norwell is the best guard in the game. He was the only OL in the league not allow a sack or even a QB hit last year.
Hope he's as good at guarding his money as he is at guarding the quarterback.

People been talking about what the 49ers are building but the Jags are not doing bad themselves.
From undrafted free agent to highest paid O-lineman. Boy, a lot of folks missed the boat on that draft!
Sucks that he left my Panthers but it's understandable he wants to get paid. Congrats Andrew

The Panthers went from four awesome Buckeyes playing for a Super Bowl to one Buckeye playing for second or third place in their division within a couple years. It’s a shame.
But the Buckeyes didn't! LOL!
Boom! Congrats Andrew.
Fields of Dreams
So the Saints think they have enough OSU players now?!
They could never have enough.
I know it sounds crazy, but as an armchair GM, I thought I would try and trade around until I had the starting O & D of the 2014 OSU team. I figured if they played great together in college, why not try & put that chemistry together in the pros.

I really enjoyed Anderson High School and couldn't be more happy for my fellow Alumni. J Jones is not getting nearly enough attention.#underated
So awesome to see...and frankly flat out crazy. Rewind to 2007-09 and Andrew was often at our house...my son played with Andrew for during the Anderson State Championship and Runner-Up seasons and later stopping over his senior year with friends my daughter's junior year in 2009. Texts have been flying today...my favorite from my wife... "I think Andrew has always been my bff...lols". Even then he could certainly fill a door frame and at 6'5" few people make me fill small like Andrew. What a journey...so deserved!
He could have put his toe in the Shrine of Minerva
