Sounds like a really nice pickup! SLOBS just got better.
Welcome to the family, Ryan!
NEO Reppin today!
Ohio, the greatest state in the Union!
People who love getting all Ohio kids have to be elated. Great get no matter what state and a position of need. I can see 6 or 7 possible Ohio kids in this class. I'm still on page get the best no matter where they come from.
It makes everyone happy when arguably the best player in the country lives less than 20 minutes from campus.
You're right that makes me very happy!
I am confused on the DV policy. Am I the only one??? ;)
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Are we married to #DYN19STY?
"Let's go make some noise."
Unfortunately, I think we are. Now get off my lawn.

Congratulations on joining the Buckeyes, Ryan. Let the real work begin!

Question is will he ever see the field?
Tyler Gerald was a 4* recruit with a .9294 ranking. Transferred
Jack Wohlabaugh was 3* recruit with a .8761 ranking. Transferred
Kyle Trout was a 4* recruit with a .9010 ranking. Transferred
Evan Lisle was a 4* recruit with a.9663 ranking. Transferred
Ryan Jacoby is a 4* recruit with a .8911 ranking.
You left out Taylor Decker and Pat Elflein. They did fairly well.
you left out Alex Boone
Taylor Decker had a ranking of .9338
Billy Price, Pat Elflein, Taylor Decker... Whats your point? Impossible to have every guy pan out
Decker had a ranking of .9338 and Price had a ranking of .9165 but was recruited as a DL. My point is if Jacoby is still ranked as a low 4* recruit at the end of his senior year in HS I don't think he'll see the field at OSU
All valid points Martin. He’ll be given every opportunity to earn his right to play. I think what is different about Jacoby compared to the other OL you pointed out, the competition level he goes up against and he is more athletic...hoops player too
"When you help someone up a hill, you get that much closer to the top yourself..."
Your ratio needs some work, Martin
"There's still some green showing before you see the chalk."
I have a better question: are you a troll or just perpetually unhappy?
Ohio State: The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
No, I just happen to be a realist. Every time someone commits people go ape shit For Christ's sakes, these kids are still juniors in HS and some posters already have Jacoby and Nester penciled in as OT starters
You start with talent. Throw them in the Marotti machine, add the grind, and layer on the will of the position coaches, and maybe you get a starter in year two or three. With the right mentality on top of these basics, maybe you get an all-American. Without the talent, though, the rest can be sort of meaningless.
I don't think anyone's penciling this kid in to be anything other than another possibly great piece of an already elite program's puzzle. The rest will be up to him and some good breaks along the way. The talent just opens the door, and we should all be justifiably happy that he's standing in front of OUR door.
The only thing that's new in the world is the history that we have forgotten.
So, how should we handle this whole recruiting thing? Should we be unhappy when a recruit commits? Should we ignore it. WE'LL HAVE NONE OF THAT DANG POSITIVITY AROUND HERE Y'ALL!
Should we not shoot for the #1 recruiting class? Does recruiting not matter? Every one of those players you named had a chance to make their mark. Sometimes it doesn't work out. That's why we might take six offensive tackle recruits this time. Obviously, all six can't play at the same time.
I prefer to focus on the positive. Offensive line play is difficult. Some will rise to the top. Some will never get there. All we can do is recruit the best players we can and hope for their success. Many on here focus on the potential of recruits. We all recognize it is unrealized potential. You don't have to rain on everyone else. If you are such a "realist" and you don't want to hear congratulations and BOOMS, just pass these recruiting articles on by. Or, you can create your own forum topic. Maybe you can call it "I need a snickers bar."
me thinks both, but what do I know?
16-2 is SWEET!
I typically regard our recruits as the best players to ever put on a helmet until proven otherwise.
Andrew Norwell, Darryl Baldwin and Pat Elflein say you are a moron.
Andrew Norwell had a .9615 ranking but then again a moron could have looked that up
You are trying too hard.
I actually looked at this in a different post about the Offensive Line. Unlike other positions, there is no rotation among the OL. Since only 5 guys can ever play, there are significantly more 'Busts" and transfers. Just because Gerald, Trout, Lisle, etc transferred does not make them unworthy of an OSU offer, it means that Billy Price, Elflein, Decker, Jones, Linsley, Mewhort, Norwell were all better- all of whom are going to be in the NFL next year. Does sitting behind a future NFL player mean that you are incapable at playing high level college ball?
The only rating we need to trust is Urban's. If Urban wants these guys because he thinks there is a chance they can be the next Elflein, Price, Decker, Norwell, then I am fine with taking the gamble.
I will pound and pound you until you quit

Welcome Ryan. It’s nice to finally have a kid from Mentor put on the scarlet and gray

they are really stacking talent on the OL. we should be set for the next 2-3 years. amazing.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
When you get an stud Oline recruited early, makes RB and QB more comfy in making a decision.
Was he the top Ohio kid on the board at OL?
Him and Zeke Correll are probably 1A 1B
He may not be related to the last crop of Jacoby's to come through, but he's got a last name destined for greatness at Ohio State.
Welcome to Columbus, young man!
What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!
Ohio State will remain in pursuit of Darnell Wright, Michael Tarquin, Harry Miller and Xavier Truss.
These are the four names I've been reading about lately, but I'm curious about Will Putnam from Tampa. Is he no longer in the mix? Just curious.
He's been getting a lot of CBs to Miami lately.
There are Exactly four CB's in for him. Two are for OSU and two are for Miami. Since when is 2 > 2? The last CB for him was 11/13/2017.
1-versatility [G or T]
2-pass pro experience in HS
3-lifelong Buckeye follower
4-straightforward and decisive commitmenet
...looking forward to the 11W interview....
forgot to include - played HS basketball...
Love that this young man wants to be a Buckeye.
Hopeful that he works, trains and develops into a great talented contributor.
Hate this years attempt at a cute class tag line. DYN19STY... seriously ? Bad, very bad.
What's Georgia's cutesy tag line this year ? I see, they're adults who don't hang out with 12 year olds.
Yeah, that's pretty bad. I'll help you defend your porch.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
