Putting the 'co' in coordinator.
Can't say I remember Fleming's first stint in Columbus (I don't), but always good to bring someone back in with familiarity to the program.
Hello you have reached the winter of my discontent...leave a message.
does that mean he didn't make your Mt Rushmore for OSU coaches from 2012-2013?
Others receiving votes.
If he is good he is smart to disconnect himself from Withers. I truly believe that Withers was the biggest hire mistake in the last several decades for the football team. When people were screaming to fire Fickel I knew the real problem was Withers. 4-20 in two years. Gee, where have we seen a similar performance over two years? Head north to Cleveland.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
4 wins for the Browns? I'll take that.

Withers did well at James Madison

They have actually done better since he left. Yes they made the playoffs with him there but they won the championship the year after he left and then made it to the championship this past year. He did improve their position from the previous coach, kinda like Harbaugh did at San Diego.
Tim Beck would like a word with you....

I like this hire. Coach Fleming has Ohio State ties, a keen offensive mind, a proven record of coaching success, and Texas recruiting ties.
Fleming's hiring has not been confirmed by Ohio State
No problem. Someone will confirm his hiring by looking him up in the email directory
This post is leasable space for this dude right here BeatTTUN
Oh, that’s good. That’s very good.

Well, fwiw, Fleming was spotted on the Oval trying to throw passes to Torrance Gibson. Apparently, though, Gibson kept grabbing the ball out of Fleming's hands and told the coach to "go long."
Well, Torrance got tired of playing catch with J.T. He would always hold onto the ball too long, or just take off running with it.
Zone6, with rotating WR's, will have 1000+ yards at all 3 WR positions this season
Geez Fatpants, go easy on Earle. He didn't mean any harm by dragging that dead horse back into the forum.
Take it easy on Fatpants, Jack. Some people have a hard time recognizing sarcasm.
Potential succession planning to Kevin Wilson or Ryan Day
...or Zach Smith.
Ring the f**king bell, you pansy
OSU Twitter will breathe a sigh of relief when that day comes.
OSU Twitter will breathe a sigh of relief when that day comes.
I'm sure they will. They'll be dead wrong, but I'm sure they will.
There's no position group that is micro-managed more by Meyer than WR's. So the work product on-the-field will look exactly the same. But will the next WR Coach recruit as well as Zach? I seriously doubt it.
Watch for 4 to 6 WR's to be drafted in 2019. Unprecedented numbers of WR's move up to the NFL from Ohio State. Absolutely unprecedented. What's the old song? "You don't know what you got 'til it's gone."
I couldn't agree more. How many stars did Michael Thomas have coming out of high school? How many guys has he had drafted? I can't think of too many guys who take so much shit for doing their job well.
Thomas was pretty much a 3 star across the board. Was upgraded by Rivals to a 4 after Tressel offered him.
I think the dissing of Zach is something that snowballed out of nothing. Kinda like #FiireFickell.
Zach & Zone6 will have a lot of fans needing to eat crow after the 2018 season.
Weren't we looking for an assistant for the LBs with one of the requirements being must have offensive experience?
Nah, he might hitch his wagon to one of them if get a HC gig though
It's been said there's a bourbon for every situation....and I would imagine Mr. Fleming is going to be drinking an entire bottle when the ink dries on that new contract.
I've heard he's a gentleman and a scholar.
Smart hire. Like recruiting, we need a stable of coaches ready to take the next step up. And it helps that he's worked under Urban already.

Just as long as he's not bringing Withers back with him I'm fine with this hire. Always good to have QC guys around for when assistants bolt. We can just fill from within with people who already know the system. Works for me.

I wonder how long it took him to accept the job offer?
Welcome back coach.

Urban should have hired Nick Siciliano, a real multi-tasker. He used to coach QB's AND rewind game film for Tressel!
Leave one wolf alive....and the sheep are never safe
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
He was great at remembering all the other coaches coffee orders.
By other coaches you mean Jim Tressel, one of the patriarchs of Ohio State Football, the guy that gave him the job?
I am all-in provided it makes us better overall.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Ohio State has more CO-'s than assistants. Too many Chiefs and not enough indians?
I think a number of the coaches will lose their current title when they arrive. I do think they throw around "Co" a lot though.
I used to worry about this exact same subject. Too many cooks in the kitchen IS a problem. Honestly tho, I’m guessin UFM makes it quite clear—He is the Captain of this ship. Everything that happens on this team shouts “Urban was here.”
Too many metaphors? Lol
"Evil shenanigans!" - Mac
Imagine if they had a Co-Assistant.
"I am the co-assistant manager."
"Co-assistant to the manager."
Don Brown must've attended night school, because he got owned by Day.
Like we are bringing in young talent. Our staff has proven they leave for head coaching gigs....gotta get their replacements lined up.
Even though he's a little older I like the Grinch pick up.
Here's a dirty little secret for you-when players are actually being coached, on the field, or in the film room-they don't give a shit if a dude is swaggy on twitter or still plays x-box or whatever "recruiting" stuff gets people excited on here. Recruits realize this-they know Grinch or Coombs or Johnson-either one-isn't going to be hanging out w/ them in the dorm or at a kegger. They will be chewing their azz at the WHAC-and that's what the recruits look for-someone they will be comfortable w/ as their coach-and age doesn't matter a damn bit-personality/impressions do-and those aren't made on twitter.
Gotta think this is our QB coach for 2019. No way we hold onto Kevin Wilson after this year.
You mean Day?
Day just got a 3 year extension, if either is likely to move on, it's Wilson. I don't see either leaving, though. Maybe Wilson if he gets a good head coaching opportunity.
Day isn't leaving., I was hinting at Day becoming the full-time OC after Wilson leaves and the new QC coach becomes our QB coach.
Another very good hire. I like the previous ties to Ohio State. Fleming definitely knows a good program.
He isn’t that old....around 30
