New Titans HC Mike Vrabels offensive coordinator hire is significant, and....Ohio St. co-offensive coordinator Ryan Day is considering becoming the Titans OC, according to league sources.

Tired of being handcuffed by Urban Meyer.
I just caught that; I hope not, but best of luck to him either way.
SCPO, USN (ret)
Is this because Vrabel tried to fight Urban that one time?

I don't think that one would have been Championship level though. Seems like Vrabel would make quick work of it.
Nothing would surprise me.

You happened to post this while I was making my thread about it, is there any way to delete mine to prevent duplicates?
Yep...just realized that. Took care of it, BB68.
Hello you have reached the winter of my discontent...leave a message.
Thank you kind sir!
This would suck.
i can understand Ohio State as a stepping stone for someone with further career goals...
but not as a motel for an over-nighter.
IMO the two-year contract UFM supposedly stipulates for a new coach is... very important to Integrity... and staff continuity.
I think Crazy Jim has the over-nighters wrapped up already.
Let Meatchicken Beat Meatchicken!!!!
to suggest that any one person has "wrapped up already" human bad behavior and 'natural' motivations...
would be to define... who?
And even he has armies of whatever wannabes, and the legion of those 'right in their own mind'.
I actually understood your comment, 68. Well done
"There's still some green showing before you see the chalk."
This is literally the first thing I have ever seen written by you that I didn’t have to sift through word by word to comprehend.
If this happens... Who would you like to see be the next QB coach.
The obvious choice is bringing back the Beckster

I think we could lure ol' Texas Tom back.

Kenny Guiton to the WHC, paging Kenny Guiton.
Today, Yesterday and Everyday Ryan Day Beat Michigan!
Guiton is a WR coach
Guys can coach different positions.
Guys don't get their first job in a position they have no experience in at Ohio State
"Tina, you fat lard, come get some DINNER!... Tina, eat. Food. Eat the FOOD!"
So was Urban, Tom Herman and for that matter Lincoln Riley. Fact is that since Guiton has left OSU, He had some time in an NFL camp, played in the arena league, most importantly he has been tutored under Urban, Major Applewhite and most important Tom Herman. To have him back under Urban would be to say the least excitement beyond belief.
Urban has never been a QB coach nor coached QBs, Tom Herman had 7 years experience as a QB coach with proven results before being hired at OSU. Riley had 5 years QB coach experience with proven results before being hired at Oklahoma. Guiton has 0 years experience as a QB coach with 0 results, what in the world made you think bringing up those other coaches would in any way make a case that Guiton would be a good choice?!
In 1989 Urban Meyer was Illinois St. Qb coach. So there is that.
....so, with JT likely going undrafted....is this a coincidence? I think not.
As a titans fan, i hope not.
Day goes to Tennessee and drafts Barrett then trades Mariota to LAC for Car-dale Jones and Joey Bosa!
Please no!!!! No NO No. I can’t take another 12 years.
Would need to be a young up and comer.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.

Pretty telling. Really crappy news.

Well this would suck
What exactly was Days role with the team?QB coach and co coordinator
Yes and a very good QB coach to boot. Why couldn't Vrable take Bill Davis instead?
Maybe a go fund me page to make it a package deal
Fuck this noise
Go find another OC, Vrabes.
New QB coach: Kenny G
New assistant QB coach: JTB
That would be a huge opportunity for Day. If it is true I can’t believe he’d turn it down.
It will be interesting to see who Urban might get to replace him.
Deserves got nothin' to do with it
So many times in different ways the integrity of kids committing and and then decommitting to programs is the topic that gets everyone involved, but with a coach...? Tate Martell's tweet says much with regard to this. Guessin' some kids actually do mean it when they talk of committing to a school, or staying at a school based on relationships made with coaches,. If he leaves, just from a distance, that sucks.
I can see how this went.
Vrabel to Mariota: Who do you want as OC?
Mariota: Ryan Day
Mariota: I worked with him at Oregon.
Vrabel; I'll make the call.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
Vrabel: Did I ever tell you about the time I almost fought Urban?
Vrabel: Yep. Fickell stepped in between us. Then Urban shoved me out the door.
Mariota: You should poach Day for revenge.
Vrabel: That's a great idea.
I always thought Vrabel got pissed at Bollman back in 2011, something about throwing the playbook at him across the table or something like that...I don't remember anything about him almost getting into a fight with Urban.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
What’s next? Maybe he’ll steal Larry Johnson to be his line coach as well! Such an important off season at the QB position and the guys will have to get use to a stranger coaching them.
dude totally hates Urbs. Day must stay because he made an agreement
Schaffer is a giant tool, I don’t believe anything out his mouth until I hear it from someone else, even if he did unethically obtain someone’s medical records.
So the two year guarantee doesn't apply to good coaches?
Being a college QB coach is a thankless task-the HC is ALWAYS going to chain to his particular scheme/expectations. JT only had QB coaches in name,he did all the work himself. Urban-well-we have all seen the last 6 years. The NFL is much more pragmatic-teams take plays and packages from every scheme under the sun, but don't tether themselves to one particular philosophy.
Former Ohio State assistant coach Ed Warinner, who reportedly just accepted a position on Michigan's coaching staff yesterday, reportedly now another candidate to join Mike Vrabel's staff with the Tennessee Titans. https://t.co/d8yhwqtGbk

If Ohio won’t hire Ohio State, Tennessee (pro sports) will.
This post is leasable space for this dude right here BeatTTUN
How ironic would that be? First Warinner goes to ttun, then leaves before he ever gets settled. The ttun fans will swear he screwed them on purpose.
Players play and coaches coach. We will be fine whoever coaches anything for us. Just think that if Day bolts, UFM has his replacement already in mind. GO BUCKS!
A first time ever head coach needs to surround himself with experienced quality coordinators. Has Day been an NFL coordinator?
Go Bucks and michigan STILL SUCKS!
