Another Classy move by the OSU athletic department.
Andy - how do you see this one playing out?
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
I won't put my preview together until later in the week, but I'm hard put to see anyone other than Penn State winning more than a couple of matches versus this Buckeye roster. They're that good.
Thanks - I guess their schedule has not been the strongest so far.
Tom Ryan is on a damn mission.
True story. Talking with him last night, he was as intense after the meet as I've seen him. Lots of coaching is happening on a daily basis.
Seems like he knows what PSU has and wants a piece of them. He had a sense of urgency with some offseason moves and sure seems like his wrestlers are operating with a sense of urgency with pins and bonus points.
Great move by the athletic department. We need some revenge against Iowa for last year.
AV/Anyone got early predictions on the 125 matchup?
You'll not find me betting against Nathan Tomasello. Ever. He's dropped some matches over his career, sure, but not many (he's something like 105-6 over the past four seasons). Lee is the hot new thing, but after watching Tomasello simply dominate Lizak last night, I have nothing but confidence in NaTo.
So what about the brave diehards who did make it? Do they get free tickets?
Tomasello versus Lee @ 125, who was the #1 overall wrestler in the 2017 class, should be fun.

Just read that Lee went undefeated in HS until his last match, the Pennsylvania state finals, where he lost to a guy he teched 15-0 before. Finished his career 144-1. That's got to be heartbreaking. The guy who beat him wrestles for Drexel, and cut Lee with 30 seconds to go, giving him the lead, before getting a takedown at the buzzer for the win. You've got imagine going out like that just lights a fire inside an already elite athlete. That's got me hyped for this matchup.
I believe you can still find the video of the match.
As I remember, essentially Lee had a bad leg at the time and his opponent (Austin DeSanto) exploited it.
Thanks for the insight, I actually suspected that. I was reading that the reason for the redshirt (until now) was that he was rehabbing leg/knee surgery that he had "very shortly after his final HS match." I didn't see anything explicitly saying that's why he lost, but it definitely would make sense.
If there's any type of tear-away on the tickets, I would say no.
Great move. Pack that house.
So you have to bring the unused ticket to the ticket office on match day. I assume that’s so they can do an exchange. That could be a lot of tickets, which potentially means a long line.
Isnt there a chance they over sell now? Last years big match had almost 16k people. if several thousand show up without purchasing a ticket because they are going to do an exchange how will the ticket office know how much more they can sell?
I'm assuming they've calculated it won't oversell. Last year they just let you walk in with your student ID, no ticket required.
WTF is my student ID? I just had it...a few decades ago...
Dude you gotta keep that. If anyone questions it you just say you're a philosophy graduate student.
Sell this baby out! Crush Iowa!
