Congrats to all! Surprised Dremont Jones made 1st team, but hey good for him.
He is a first round pick on a lot of draft boards
Sure but draft projections are based on potential, while these are based on actual production. Same reason I'm fine with Ward being second team given the better numbers the other guys posted.
But not in north east Ohio.
Let's be honest, the browns front office doesn't even know there is power five school in Ohio, much less one they could draft from.
The truth is in the details...
Those dickheads don't even know to draft the Big Ten. Unlike the franchise right down the turnpike. That wins.
I'm sure many will be surprised about Barrett, he's not even the best quarterback on his own team, much less conference
But you are actually correct.
Because I couldn't go for 3.
Dre'Mont Jones is seven of Ohio State players who received first-team All-Big Ten honors from the AP on Wednesday.
I mean, I know he’s a beast and all, but that’s impressive!

JK Dobbins will be B1G Offensive player of the year in 2018, either him or Haksins, anyway.
Congrats to the Buckeyes!
"porque las estirpes condenadas a cien años de soledad no tenían una segunda oportunidad sobre la tierra."
Denzel on the second team is laughable. He's a lock 1st round draft pick this year.
Yeah, not seeing Nick Nelson (who had a very good year, and will declare early) over Ward either.
All good...congrats, Buckeyes.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
He just didn't have the interceptions the other guys did. His biggest problem was that he was so much better than Arnette / Sheffield he didn't have nearly as many chances, since they're throwing at the other guy.
He's definitely a 1st rd lock, but these awards are really based on in-season production. The other cornerbacks racked up stats
OSU didn't execute and lost to horrible officiating. BOTH things can be true
agreed. Dobbins second team is a little frustrating. But I get it he had to share carries with others.
Gotta say, is it just me or so s Barkley the most overrated player. I think he’s good but I noticed it only took arm tackles to take him down v osu. I must not know enough about this guy.
Ward is the best CB in the Big Ten and it ain’t close.
yep....first and only real thing that jumped off the page.....also, how good was LB in the B1G this year, those are some great players
^ best post ever ^
I thought for sure a win over our Buckeyes would cement coach of the year for Ferentz. What gives?!
Look at the clock. _ichigan still sucks.
I just checked and LOLd at Bruce in ‘79 being the last OSU coach to win
Nicely done Buckeyes... nicely done!!!
Now - let's get ready to crush some condoms and get that gorilla out of the room!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Get it Dobby
If you guys want to feel good about our offense, follow the link above and view the graph that matches Miami vs Wisconsin. Under "yards allowed" you'll see how their defense played great until we came along
I understand Jackson garnering all of these honors because he was so productive and had crazy INT numbers. However, Ward was the best pure cover CB in the entire B1G for the entire season. It's sill for him to be second team.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." - Abraham Lincoln
I'm thinking Nelson is the one Ward should have been flipped with, rather than Jackson.
Yes, I agree with that. That's what I was saying. Sorry for not making it clearer LOL.
JK Dobbins v Jonathan Taylor will be interesting to watch for the next couple years (no way either plays a senior season). Both had outstanding freshman seasons. My guess is, given the offense Wisconsin runs, Taylor will probably gather more yards and more awards. Not sure he's the better back though.
Luckily there are two spots on the first team for both of them next year. Taylor will likely have more yards given their run-heavy offense (and that we'll probably sub in Williams or Gill or Snead or whoever).
I thought that question was emphatically answered in the CCG.
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
Not sure it was. No way does JK have the day he did if he was running against the Bullets. On the other hand, if JK was running for Wiscy all season as their one featured back, he might already have gone for over 2000.
Barkley with the name recognition award. He had a pretty mediocre season.
Barkley had the same rushing yards as Dobbins but with 500+ more receiving yards and way more TDs. Don't be ridiculous.
And, Barkley had to run behind a very mediocre oline. Plus he had like 2 kick return TDs. 2nd team is nothing to scoff at given who was in front of him.
Barkley had 1134 yards. Dobbins had 1364. That wasn’t really my argument anyway. Taylor had 1847 yards and only 3 fewer TD’s than Barkley. While also averaging more than 1 yard more per carry. Barkley was the 4th leading rusher in the B1G. He’s good, but he’s riding the hype machine to post-season accolades.
So happy we have Dobbins for a couple more years. He and Haskins are real heisman worthy players. Congrats to all these guys.
"He and Haskins are real heisman worthy players."
You're only batting .500 here, right now.
Hove, who was the guy who was "from the future" and used to create forums where he would tell us how an upcoming season played out LOL? Have not seen him on 11W in quite a while.
That's SouthernStatesBuckeye. Looks like he last checked in back in October, he must be in orbit somewhere:
And yeah, he'd come in handy in the off-season.
He and Haskins are real heisman worthy players.
And only one of those players has actually PROVEN himself.
True, although Haskins did have a nice stretch against TTUN, the bucks were trailing before he took over. He does seem to pass the "eye test" of a potential Heisman candidate if our highest expectations come to fruition. :]
If Barrett doesn't get hurt, we lose the game against meatchicken.
6/9 linemen were on the same team. That's how you win lots of football games, folks.
True, but players also tend to look a lot better when the team is successful. If the LG for Purdue totally killed it this year do you really think people would have noticed?
If you are winning in the trenches on both sides everything else falls into place.
Stats shouldn't play into the CB position as much....a true lockdown corner is going to be avoided by the offense....Ward is top 10 in several early mock drafts, and should be an All American...He is literally one of ( if not the) top corners in college football....
Award voters aren't going to pull up film from every CB in the conference and see who had the most consistent coverage. They're going to pick the two guys with the most INTs.
That's ok though, because NFL scouts WILL actually pull the film. Ward will get his proper recognition in the form of a signing bonus.
True, and given the choice id imagine most would take the payday....though I am pulling for him to get on the All American team and get his tree...always like to see the kids earn those...something they will never forget..
What, no D. Haskins?
See you in Indy! B1G!
and for the 38th consecutive year, no Buckeye head coach wins Big Ten Coach of the Year
I'll certainly take the conference and national championships over individual coaching awards, but it is amusing to watch the most successful B1G program of the last 2 decades have a national coach of the year award with no league coach of the year awards...
Maybe there should be 2 coaching awards in the B1G: The 'The Overachiever Award - you did well with lackluster talent award' and the 'Coach of the Year - you're a complete coach - recruited well and had great results on the field'
Dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball. Gotta love that.
- Also, I understand the Denzel Ward "snub". Everyone knows he's probably the best CB in the nation and a lock 1st round pick, including the voters.
3 out of 5 offensive linemen named to the first team is awesome. They played against some great front sevens and often dominated the games. Would have loved to see Ward get first team honors, but there are some amazing corners in the B1G this year. It is not a snub. Agree with pretty much all the picks that I have seen.
Most improved unit imo.
On my wish list for 2018 : some rotation depth on the o line. Not counting on it though.
Agree with one of the comments above, if Ward is not a first team corner in this league, the whole thing is a sham. Heck, forget about B1G, he is 1st team caliber corner in the country! SMH

Genuinely surprised Kirk Ferentz did not win COY.
A thing repeated will happen a third time.
I'm shocked too!
15-1 is SWEET!
Three Slobs getting first team honors is impressive. Coach Stud really got these boys clicking.

Wow. Congrats to our Buckeyes!

If the voting was done before the Championship, I can see Taylor over Dobbins. On Saturday, he averaged just over 2.5 yds/carry while JK was over 10. We did a good job shutting down Barkley, but it was still easy to see why he is special. Not so with Taylor at all, he looks like a 3* kid who lucked into a mammoth O-line in front of him.
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...
Woo Hoo! Congrats to all!
They gave Taylor top freshman over Dobbins?
They must have missed the CCG
It's 2019 and TTUN still sucks!!!
Was it me, or did JK seem to hit a wall on those long runs against UW and visibly slow down?
Pretty sweet having six linemen & the qb. But an overall knock on Ohio State imo.
I don’t see it.
IMO, Ward was our MVP on defense this year
