Rest up young Buck.  See you in the spring game.

The offseason is the longest season.

He should be good to go in around 6-8 weeks if they’re just using a wire mesh to repair a small tear. He’ll be back for spring practice. I hope he’s able to compete for a rotation spot next year.

This is definitely where I parked my car.

Arnette, Okudah, Sheffield, and Wade is my guess at corner. Riep and Williamson will add depth. Sucks we're missing out on Cook.

HS

Wade >= Cook imo.  And now that Wade is redshirting they are both in the same class technically.   Buckeyes are more than fine here.

Uh what.  You have an extra year of availability with cook no matter what.  Wade can go pro when cook would only be a soph or rs freshman.  That’s a hole.

HS
NHBuckeye's picture

Ah yes of course.   I was thinking seasons of play as opposed to 3 years removed from HS.  My bad.

Big difference between a gaping roster hole and going chicken little b/c you don't land one of your primary targets in a class. tOSU will be fine w/out Cook. Wade is on another level, he has that "glide" that players like Charles Woodson and Antonio Cromartie have-big guys where it looks like they are playing at half speed b/c they are so smooth-until they make a big play.

HS
logamaniac's picture

Doesn’t have to be cook per se but it’s a spot that needs addressed with a body.  It’s osu so it’s unlikely they’re recruiting Joe Shmoe from Alaska to fill the hole.

Rest up, Mr. Wade. You are this go-round's version of Eli Apple - who was red shirted in '13. Natty in '14. I have confidence that you can win one of those starting positions next season.

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Can't wait to see this kid play along side Okudah

Way to keep fighting, good to read the staff and facilities are able to look after these young men!

This sucks but I have to think this is something that will be totally fine with some rest.  Not like a torn ACL or something else crazy.  Hope for a great recovery for Shaun and can't wait to see him rock next year.

Rise up even stronger...

Cannot understate how excited I am to see him and Jeffrey Okudah on islands sooner rather than later.

Hoping that the surgery goes well and brings relief.

Look forward to seeing what he can do next year

Getting a redshirt will be important so we can continue to lead the NCAA in sophomores getting drafted by NFL teams.

Hopefully this surgery goes well and Shaun won't have to deal with this again.  I'm very excited to see him on the field and expect he will make his presence felt in a big way.

I hope this winds up as another Lattimore situation. We had to wait awhile to see the real Lattimore, but it proved to be worth the wait.

Elk & Elk, can't trust those guys solely based on the hair. Honestly if they were good he could at the least afford hair plugs for that train wreck on his head.

I trust in our team doctors. They're some of the best in the business. My Dad is an OSU prof, and he always goes to the sports medicine doctors with any nagging issue.

I also appreciate that everything is transparent. No one is pressuring a kid to play through a significant injury.

Coincidentally my wife had hernia surgery last week, and it really took the wind out of her sails. She's a tough bird, but she's been extremely sore for two weeks on Monday. They cut 3 holes in her stomach---but she said the worst is the gas they inserted to help find the hernia----it went up to her shoulder area, and that's what hurt the most.

Wishing Shaun all the best. Just glad it's not a knee, Achilles, or shoulder.....hit the books, and get ready for next season.

HS

I'm having this surgery a week from Monday. Coincidentally, my wife is an RN in the OR at the Wexner and she's lined up the surgeon and team that will be doing my surgery. She's worked with the surgeon a lot and she says she chose him because he works on all the VIP's from OSU. I guess I'm in good hands.

HS
High Street Street Fighter's picture

Good luck in your surgery. My wife said it was worse than her C-sections. Off work for 2.1 weeks. Her brother had the same procedure and was back to work in 2 days. He jokingly said the gas didn't bother him since he was known to be naturally gassy so it pushed it right out,

HS

This sucks, but with 2 left to play (hopefully more!) it's probably the best thing. Shame the decision couldn't be made sooner, but sometimes that's the way it goes. Kid is a baller. Get well, SW.

I have a wire mesh thingy in me from an inguinal hernia surgery 15 years ago. It might prevent him from lifting weights for a while but he'll be fine long term.

Too little information previously. A lost season except for the red shirt which means nothing once he leaves early for the NFL.
Hopefully he comes back stronger.

God Bless Shuan. Believe in him. This is not a setback. Your faith will prevail. Prayers for ya but I know your family is strong in faith. You are special.
