Game was worthy of the rating! Great game!

11W needs a metric showing the number of cumulative upvotes after a win of that magnitude versus your run of the mill victory.
What a great night for Buckeye football.
The pain of discipline or the pain of regret, take your pick
Here comes the network push for more 8pm starts.

"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
This is why OSU makes the playoffs if we win out.
I hate the offseason.
TV ratings are the Bucks de facto tie breaker. If it's close, like 2014 and 2016, OSU will be selected, no doubt.
^^This^^ exactly. Plus, we're guaranteed to pack a stadium, which the TV people love. That's our ace in the hole with the selection committee.
"Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect." -- Woody Hayes
that, and the fact that the current #1 and #2 will play each other, eventually. if we win out, gonna be awful hard to leave us out of a 4 team playoff, assuming the playoff committee ranks similar to the coach's poll this week.
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
We're not supposed to admit that! We need to play it like we're not aware of such a possibility.
We Buckeye's do love our football team!
half of the nations LOVES us ,the other half HATES us
but the all watch us
It reminds me of the scene in the Howard Stern bio-pic movie, Private Parts, where "Pig Vomit" (Paul Giamatti) and the station's researcher are going over Stern's ratings:
Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.
Pig Vomit: How can that be?
Researcher: Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."
Pig Vomit: Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?
Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
Pig Vomit: But... if they hate him, why do they listen?
Researcher: Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
but they LOVE to hate us!
Here in Boise, Idaho the locals, almost to a man/woman, hate Ohio State. A female acquaintance I was talking to in a local sports bar a few weeks ago (we were watching the USMNT losing to Trinidad-Tobago), nastily stated, after I told her I'm an OSU fan, that the Ohio State Buckeyes, team and fans, are a bunch of "fuckin assholes". I told her I understand how she feels because I'd be jealous, too, if my team (in her case the Boise State Broncos, who do play some pretty good football), would never have a rat's ass chance of making it into the CFP, not even once, let alone regularly, like OSU. Since we were getting along well enough with each other for the most part, she didn't take it too personally.
but did you get smooth with her lee?
If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear.
McGrind for the win!
No, not at all my type. But, she's entertaining (have encountered her, same place, a couple previous times), albeit with one hell of a shameless expletive-laced language set. She's a tough woman who probably could kick my ass. She's cool, though, I like her.
I love hearing Gus Johnson's 'calls'.
"I think Alabama would beat Ohio State if they played next weekend!" Clay Travis Fox Sports Post Championship Show 1.12.2015. Needs no explanation.
Dude was flat out cheering for the Buckeyes! I loved it!
he does so well , he doesnt betray that hes a Michigan man and lifetime michigan fan, unlike his unprofessional 'not rival' on espn desmond howard
It's 2018 and TTUN still sucks!!!
I did not know that. That makes it all the more amazing.
How great is it that he has endeared himself to Buckeye Nation and has become our most beloved play caller! The fact that he is a lifelong Ishigan fan makes it that much better!!
CAR. DALE. JONES.
YOU GOT BBQ BACK THERE? HURT MAH FEELINS
HEART OF A LION!!
AND DON'T SAY NOTHING!
His call on Denzel Ward's hit is one of my all-time favorite Gus Johnson calls!! He's the best out there right now!!! "What a Hit!! Denzel Ward, You got barbeque back there and you didn’t invite me??? HURT MY FEELINGS!!!"
It doesn't hurt our CFP ranking either.
Meanwhile SEC on CBS hasn't shown a game with a final score differential of less than 21 points. They honestly tried to hype the Bama-Vandy game lol.
I wish the real world would just stop hassling me...
I know, that was sad.
Football is a religion in Ohio. We attend our service every fall on the banks of the Olentangy. A place we affectionately call "the shoe".
Get ready for the Bama/LSU hype train this week
Buckeyes on TV = ratings gold... and they know it.
With the other network games being blowouts, it fed into viewers switching to FOX.
It begs the question about what does the new B1G TV contract say about night games after the first weekend in November, especially if they are not scheduled before the season. The logistics behind a night game is not apparent at first blush. The overtime for police alone, is substantial.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
This speculates MSU as a night game. I'm sure Urban would be OK with it as the next game is at home and it would provide a wider window for recruit visits. MSU may think differently & have a veto.
I imagine a lot of haters saw that we were losing and turned in for schadenfreude.
Jim Delaney and the B1G accounting department approve
When I was 6 I was thinking about this rivalry. This one is seared on your soul, It's ingrained through every part of your body. -Urban Meyer
To put a 6.4 rating into some context, Michigan @ PSU got a 3.9 rating, which equated to seven million viewers. Alabama-FSU was a 6.9 and had 12.3 million viewers. Both those games were played in prime time.
Rough math puts OSU-PSU's 6.4 rating at 11.5 million viewers. For a game played on a Saturday afternoon. The highest rated non-prime time game played prior to OSU-PSU was Florida-Michigan in Week 1, which got a 4.9 rating (7.7 million viewers).
Must've been the alt uniforms, haha--which I do like, btw.
They had grown on me by kickoff. I was ready to burn them and their bad juju by third quarter. Now, I'm really still trying to process that outcome. Uniforms have taken a backseat - as they should when it comes to the gameplay.
Helmets turned out nice, though.
"Because I couldn't go for three." - Woody Hayes
When/if we see 'em again, I'd like to see the uni for a night game against the backdrop of a brilliant scarlet stadium. The bad juju thing ... hahaha--JT played possessed. Considering that he shouldered the game, it was a total reversal from those 'disappointing' games past.
Yeah I still don't care for them. Just blah. I saw another team using gray alternates on the same day (can't recall who) and it just marginalized even more our efforts.
Buckeye nation... more like buckeye galaxy
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Obi Wan (Ben) Kenobe: I have a feeling as if thousands of voices cried out at the same time in the Pennsylvania region of earth.
The shoe= the deathstar of college football
this post just screams for a gif of Urban as darth... strangling the competition
Great points by IowaBuckeye.
I trust the CFP Committee were among those viewers!

If we can get defenses to bite on playaction as much as the fox camera guys, we will have some wide open receivers.
The Ohio State University puts A$$es in seats at the site of the game, as well as in homes across America and abroad.
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
This surprises me because half of the comments in the game threads mentioned turning the game off and finding something better to do..
I’m always too into the games to bother using my phone or computer.
The Ohio State University - "Haters love us!"
Baskin Robbins? Nah, Haskins Dobbins - KannonMic
I usually watch alone, so I'll check in during breaks to share opinions and discuss the game.. got a few buddies that I text back and forth with too.. same idea..
I like being able to talk about the game, just sick of the negativity..
oh yeah, i watched the game at a party, but I had no desire to read the open game threads during or after, im sure it was awful.
i did read the mgblog threads after to see how they blew up at the end, and they were referencing the shitstorm on 11w
I feel the same way. I used to enjoy the live game threads, but have completely quit following them. I get sick of the constant doom-and-gloom and the relentless negativity, as well as the knee-jerk belittling of anything good that happens.
Unfortunately for my favorite site, the trolls have won.
Your positivity would have been very valuable!
I was trying to find out how osu-psu compared to the world series after it, but I couldnt find the info
With ratings like that I expect we'll see several installments of our favorite team beating psu this coming week :)

"The only good thing about it is winning the d*** thing" - Urban Meyer on The Game The War
Considering Fox usually has a weaker OTA signal as than ABC/NBC/CBS this means much more!!!!!
