JT finally did what everyone was looking for, he simply put the team on his shoulders and carried the team. Legacy cemented.
Noon games suck
About time. ....he's been here since LBJ
It's not the first or second time he's done it.
Against a team ranked No 2
I didn't DV ya, and I won't, and you're entitled to your opinion. But I just don't get your hate for JT.
I can clearly see that the play calling, specifically the screens, are not working. Everybody seems to be able to see that, but the coaches. If it didn't work against Rutgers, how the hell is it going to work against PSU, MSU, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Alabama?
Playcalling ain't on J.T.
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
I don't mind if you do. It's a sports blog. Not a dating site. I don't hate him at all. You must be young. That's a generation give away. People my age don't call it hate or get offended when someone says something they don't agree with. He had a great game. Probably the best game ever for a QB in our history. Which isn't saying a lot. We're not really known for our great QB'S. We'll know by the end of the year if it means anything. Right now it's just a great game. Doesn't erase the losses he's had. Doesn't make me forget Clemson or Oklahoma or the others. If you want to brag about his wins over Army Nevada Rutgers and Maryland. You're allowed to. It's a sports blog
Buckloving is the guy who gets a date with Alex Morgan, then complains that she is too drunk when he goes to pick her up.
It's funny because Alex Morgan likes to party.
High and tight boo boo
Um, it seems as though Alex Morgan being drunk on a date would be cause for celebration.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Buckloving = entitled fan
This is a crazy game ,but my what a game.
All people are created equal. Some end smarter and stronger than others
Game would have been a bigger win without the BS calls and no call from the refs... but in the end, we prevail victorious. My only gripe... for the love of everything sacred enough with the pooch kicks already!!!!!
You'd prefer them kick to Squaoff Barkley? That didn't work so well.
No, I prefer we kick it in the end zone and put them at the 25 yard line without a chance to run it back.
I hope for the rest of the season we just kick it directly sideways out of bounds. I’d rather start each possession at the 35.
My house full of kids in Halloween costumes going crazy at the end. I'll never forget where I was when we won that game.
One for the ages. Not the prettiest game, but maybe the best performance by a Buckeye QB in program history!
I am a grown man and I was in tears.
Drive, Drive on down the field, Men of the Scarlet and Gray!
The Buckeye behind enemy lines...
Kudos to the Bucks. That was unbelievable. And especially, to JT: Son, you're something special. Thank you.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
A win like this, where the Buckeyes overcame so much adversity, should serve this team well going forward. The character and belief it takes to keep fighting back ought to do wonders going forward, as there are still many things our players and coaches will continue working on.
Keeping focused and remaining healthy will be critical moving down the stretch. Go Bucks!
Bucks won EVERY phase of the game but st
i thought offense and d were both really good. Psu has under 300 yards offense. F’n beautiful!
Proud day for all of us BuckS......... Now Meyer, FIX THEM SPEACIAL TEAMS......
Hell no! Urban is the ST coach. He needs to relieve himself of said duties and take those afternoons off in order to play golf, or something other than "coaching" ST. Skip Special Teams Day, Urban. Spend more time recruiting, or with your family. Please.
Two weeks to plan and you come out and kick the ball to Barkley. ......are you fkn kidding me
Kicking to Barkley is fine, it's the not even coming close to tackling him part that's an issue.
+1. But when you have a player as fast and dynamic as Barkley, you're better off not kicking the ball anywhere near him.*
*see opening kickoff.
I agree, but they pretty much shut him down the rest of the game. He's a great player but I don't think he deserves the god-like status the media has given him. OSU just been awful at punt coverage this year, it's getting ridiculous.
Yup. He should donate a portion of his money to charity. Hire ANY special teams coach.
Anyone still talking about Haskins? Lol
"Because I couldn't go for three"
Yes ... about how great it will be to have him at the helm next season. :P
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
I think the talk about us failing in big games was overblown to begin with - am I the only one that remembers we had three Top Ten wins last year?
But that said, JT firmly cemented his legacy tonight. Who knows how the rest of the season will play out, maybe we’ll even lay an egg and lose a big game. But the idea that Barrett CANT win a big game by himself should be dead.
What about the 5 he's lost lol
Dude. Are you sure you're a Buckeye fan? You better check.
Can we just enjoy one awesome victory? At least we ain't TTUN, who's on their third mediocre-below average QB.
Agree completely. Go back to 2014 and count how many big wins JT has had. Oh, by the way, he damn sure didn't lose the 2016 Clemson game or 2017 OU game by himself. People are so uneducated when it comes to football. He played out of his mind today but he had a lot of support doing it. The OL was on fire in the 2nd half and his WRS caught everything in the same zip code. JT is a legend but it was a total team effort today, the same way that the Clemson drubbing was a team collapse.
Those losses were entirely on JT? I just witnessed a 4th quarter with no drops, all passes that were exactly on the dime, a 'clean pocket' (this year's buzz term), and a clinical JT that was throwing not running .
Malign his play and I would question your objective reality
J.T. played lights out....and hopefully McLaurin will start getting some respect....maybe?
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
BUCKAROOTIMESTWO will certainly appreciate that. T-Mac definitely had a huge game for us tonight. Respect deserved.
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
For the most part Hill had a great game as well
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Agreed. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he the leading receiver tonight?
Throughout the game it felt like Alabama 2014. Ohio State could not get out of their own way, but looked like the better team. JT is THE MAN! What a game!
Stuck with the plan.
There's no points for second place, gentlemen.
Congrats to the Buckeye players, who had to defeat a very talented PSU team, some head-scratching officiating, and the very best efforts of their own Head Coach to bury them, in order to secure a victory. The HC spotted PSU 14 points all by his lonesome. All things considered, a truly amazing victory for a defense that was constantly asked to play under extreme duress. That was some shit, indeed. Wow!
Not sure how our HC is personally responsible for the second touchdown.
How long has that van been there?
Not the second, but the third (?) where the ST KO return team gave up a 60 yard return. The fumble by 21 isn't Urban's responsibility.
wondering how it's UM's fault when a player fumbles?
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
I just would like to bring attention to Sam Hubbard and his outstanding game too. He had himself a grown ass man play when he decided to tackle both Barkley and McSorely (sp?) and blew them up in the shadow of their endzone.
Well freaking done young man!
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
that was crazy, tackled them both at once, I went nuts,
It's 2018 and TTUN still sucks!!!
Enjoy it, because Hubbard is going to being playing on Sunday's next year, and I'll never see him play again. :(
Yeah and that face mask call was bad - Mc sorely lowered his head into his hand - yes, I just typed that - and as soon as Hubbard realized he was contacting the face mask he pulled his hand away, and he never never grabbed it. Anyway, he was certainly the man out there. The whole d line rocked!!!
Play of the game - Hubbard tackling TWO guys at once.
My friends said we've found the secret to destroying the zone read- get there while they're still reading!

you can say that again...
My friends said we've found the secret to destroying the zone read- get there while they're still reading!
He never got rattled. Just kept on coming at them.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Holy sh*t. That was a terrible game and one for the ages all at the same time. I am exhausted.
Only people who love college football know what it's like to feel fully alive and almost dying at the same time.
I wanna watch it again!!!! (now that I know the outcome)
Excellent synopsis of the game in terms of emotion. The Buckeyes including Meyer seemed doomed to the act of "Clemsoning" away another big game. The known flaws of OSU were exploited by Penn State, yet somewhere in the fourth quarter the Buckeye's found the heart and will to win. JTB has always had that and as mentioned up thread, Hubbard's tackle for two spread belief and faith to the rest of the team.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
JT showed up with his cape and then flashed the S on his chest....
"Let's Roll", Todd Beamer, Flight 93, 9/11
Darn if Austin Mack is not becoming that possession type of receiver, and dam fine catch by C.J. Saunders. Glad to see the kid get a shot in a high profile game.
KJ Hill was everywhere too, and think of how far Johnny Dixon has come! Zone 6 represented tonight.
I agree totally. Zone 6 always had the talent. Just glad they finally figured out the play calling to spread the ball around to establish that balance.
BTW: Urban must have sat Campbell down the rest of the game because of that 1st quarter fumble. He just disappeared.
He had Antonio williams back with Hill to return the second half kickoff. He straight benched him
Campbell got carted off the field in the 1st quarter.
I believe he has a concussion.
Not good. That's two weeks in a row. Hope the young man is all right.
It's pretty funny how I'm searching ESPN to try to find some good highlights of the game. Pundits talking about how big 10 east is a mess. Downplaying the game. SMH. I guess it's the downside of playing on FOX
It won't end until JT is holding that trophy.
JT is going to New York baby!
This was a complete team disaster that ended up being a complete team victory that was spear headed by JT Barrett. What an unbelievable win. Still totally in shock
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
All that sh*t I thought and said about JT before, I take it all back. All of it. ALL OF IT!
We should start a thread about it. Right Chicago Connection?
Trap game comin' up. Iowa @ Iowa.
Absolutely. They get no credit for beating Iowa state early in the season.
And they also played PSU to the end and should have won, in another great game.
No 4 TCU lost to Iowa State. We're moving on up. Hopefully this is great momentum coming into the toughest part of the schedule. This has to have them feeling good.
As for the score, Ped State was doing "ok", but looking at the numbers throughout the game, OSU was putting up yards. And those numbers caught up to Ped State in the 4th. The penalties and special teams are really leaving much to be desired though and really put them ahead of us most the game.
I think Johnnie Dixon is JT's go-to guy after today. He's the receiver we've been looking for.
His TD right before the TD to Baugh was straight money. I thought it was Victor at first because Victor is the only WR who's ever made a play like that this year. I am so happy for Dixon and T-Mac, both of whom balled out today. And KJ had a HUGE Wes Welker-type day.
Our Bucks played horrible (and got some horrible calls) through 3 quarters today and still beat a number 2 and undefeated Penn State. That takes a TON of talent. Our Bucks are loaded. As long as they come to play and our coaches don't get too fancy, we'll be good.

My friend said we've found the secret to destroying the zone read- get there while they're still reading!
We are unlikely to win another game with the number of UFEs of today. Have to clean up our act to win out the regular season and get to the playoffs. It is clear that we are a playoff level team if we don't self sabotage. I'd hate to put JT in that kind of position again. He's great, but not superhuman. Let's try not to amp the team up so high they forget to do their jobs, coach.
Johnnie Dixon is a great feel good story.
