I thought both QBs were absolutely superb. Ours is better!
A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore. - Yogi Berra
Penn State had a 98% likelihood of winning (according to ESPN) with 13:13 left in the game. Just wow
"Lost to VT at home? You kidding me? Ohio State is going to lose at least 4-5 more games"
With 5:42 left, it was 97.3%!
So you're saying there's a chance......? ;o)
That's why I don't read the game threads; I still hold out cautious optimism when watching the Bucks. It dropped big time; but I was still somewhat hopeful as time ticked away.
We. Watched. History. Tonight.
I read the game threads after the game, they were truly disgusting. Urban was a fucking idiot, JT was a piece of shit, and the team had no heart. I didn't make that up, I read those. I will never read those again because it makes me sad to say I'm a buckeye fan also.
The team made a lot of mistakes but geez. It's a game. These are people that we supposedly care about and want the best for. And I'm glad that the buckeyes won in spite of their mistakes and the "fans" who should be coaching instead of complaining while watching from the couch about these guys putting so much on the line.
I bleed scarlet...literally
Help me out. I don’t watch social media. You are saying “after the game you read the ongoing threads that occurred” during the game? WOW! That is sad.
The writer was saying “Barrett was taking what the defense was giving him “. Well that is what fans have to do. Accept the players we have and enjoy what they are giving. They are kids. Doing the best they can. J.T. is young kid that would make any dad proud.
To all the young Bucks. Thank you for not giving up, nor hanging your head. When you win with your B game, over a very good team, who played their A game, Then the sky is the limit.
"There are 3 things that can happen and 2 of them are bad" - the Curse of Woody Hayes
Those percentage winning things are wrong a lot.
Varys: I've always hated the bells. They ring for horror, a dead king, a city under siege.
Tyrion: A wedding.
Actually they aren’t. Just because they say Penn State had a 98% chance to win doesn’t mean they were going to win.. we just happened to be the 2% tonight

Who DVs this? The numerically challenged.
JT ... absolutely STELLAR! 33/39 with at least 3 drops ... and no Paris Campbell (arguably his best play-maker). The coaching, however ... was terrible. Penalties ... Special Teams ... side-line passes for 0 yards ... no Dobbins in the game for long periods of time ... with a bye-week to prepare. What the F!!!
JT carried this team ... as if to defy his head coach and conservative play-calling. Side-line passes ... a Meyer standard ... for zip ... nada. But when JT passed down field ... repeated completions for big chunks.
LET THE TALENT PLAY! The one reason Franklin was beating Meyer was because he was letting his players play and have fun! The reason the Buckeyes came back to win was because of better over-all talent and the HEART of JT Barrett!
If Meyer recruits the best, as he does, and let's that talent play ... the Buckeyes will roll any and everyone.
Yeah yeah, but the same coaching staff called all the plays you like.
only when they had exhausted all other options...
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
you might have a point if this offense was a middling 27 point 325 yard pregame offense. But these coaches are calling the #2 scoring and #3 total offense in the country.
Its possible those non productive passes to the sidelines set up the open looks in the middle of the field.
Was helpful to the throw to Dixon that was just a hair underthrown...fake the bubble and then hit a streaking WR...but horizontal passes had nothing to do with the last 5 minutes
LOVE JT ....
The play calling is ...........
The play calling is ......... predictable

Let the young man play ...... he is awesone ,,,, let him play ...... FAST
JT is the greatest quarterback in Ohio State history. And I was lucky to play with him. Stay out of my mentions about it.
— Taylor Decker (@__taylordecker) October 28, 2017
YES! Agreed. Finally... let's start hearing from more of those players.
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
He had so much confidence in his throws and his receivers that last quarter. That was an amazing performance.
J.T. firmly a Heisman candidate.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
and some of those throw were not easy... accurate while under duress
it's going to take days to fully comprehend what he just accomplished
"The future is bright at Ohio State." - Urban Meyer 1/1/15
Their Heisman candidate had a nice untouched return and then went for 44 yards on 21 carries. Take away his long touchdown run and he had 8 yards on 20 carries. Amazing
The pain of discipline or the pain of regret, take your pick
The d-line is incredible.
If you continue to think what you always thought, you will continue to get what you always got. #AlumforStaff
Linebackers had a good day, too.
Dairy-fed intellect and pure, unhinged sass.
Ummm, yeah. 2100+ yards in the air. 25 TD's to 1 INT. 69.5% completion percentage.
Yeah. He good.
Drive, Drive on down the field, Men of the Scarlet and Gray!
But... but... but... Haskins!
Fuck yeah !!
O line was great in protection too!!!!!
There's no points for second place, gentlemen.
Love his charisma - wouldn't want another QB back there slinging it around
Focusing on Penn State !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

JT for Heisman! He is THE MAN!
Gotta say I love JT but earlier today I wrote:
JT IS improved but won’t have his best day against this defense,,,, blah, blah, blah.
he had his best day. But to be clear the slobs had theirs too.
The O line did a great job! It does help to have time to throw your accurate darts to speeding 4-5 star receivers.
Lead, follow, or get out of my way!
He truly is the best buckeye QB ever. What a hell of a player.
ive eaten trash bags full of shit (metaphorically) this season, thinking he was done... im happy to have had my fill of shit
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I was eating it after this one too. Somebody get me a toothbrush and floss.
Yessir me too. I am glad to have eaten a landfill.
Absolutely nothing but respect for my quarterback, Joe Thomas Barrett IV
Great game by JT-
Enjoying daily the 62-39 ttun beatdown.
Agreed what a fantastic game. Hats off to Barrett and the entire offense. Never doubted the young man!
Exactly. Receivers and O line stepped up down the stretch too.
"Because we couldn't go for three"
He put the team on his shoulders. That is what a Senior on the team does. My God what a game!
"Just remember one thing. I can do your job, but you can't do mine." - Woody Hayes to an OSU professor
JT is the greatest QB we’ve ever seen at Ohio State. Tonight, he became a legend. Build a damn statue of the man.
JT...I am sorry for doubting you early in the year. This is crow that really tastes good!
I’ve been critical of JT in the past, but give the man credit for his play down the stretch. He was nails and anyone that can’t recognize that would do well to stay quiet after that 4th quarter performance. Unbelievable.
Agreed, but he was good the whole game and great at the end. I was a JT critic, but he shut my ass up.
You’re right. I can’t believe I’m typing this, but maybe Urban knows more than the fans!
You are building the perfect OSU team from the ground up, starting in 2000 to today. Your first sting QB is one of Krenzel, Smith, Pryor, Miller, Jones, Barrett, or Haskins. This program past and future is #Blessed
Did you just include our freshmen backup QB among a bunch of actual stars? Because that’s gonna be a no for me.
He/she did say Future....
Can't forget a couple of starts for Kenny Guiton. That guy was money!
And someone down-voted a Kenny Guiton comment?!? WHAT THE HELL??? Maybe folks are too drunk to hit the UP arrow.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
I’ll admit, I’m drunk. Perhaps, even too drunk. Still hit the up arrow on your comment (on my first try!). Not sure if that matters, but thought it might be important for your experiment.
LOL!!! I got a little lit myself last night. At least they were happy beers. Go Bucks!
Not to play negative Nancy but you did forget Bauserman and Boeckman and Zwick
Worst qbs scarlet and grey has ever seen
"Vitalum Vitalis "
Kinda harsh critique of Boeckman....after all he was first team all Big Ten.
Well earned. He so deserved this. Just unbelievable
I've been a fan since 1965 and I can not recall a more clutch performance in a big game than this - Troy Smith had that great comeback vs um in 2005, but I think this was even better. Anyone else remember a clutch performance better than this one?
This feels better than the bama win
What an amazing game! But let’s not get too carried away with the decency effect. It does rank up there in the top 10 of the last 30-40 years. Love this for JT!
‘Recency’ hate autocorrect.
what a great night!
It was a decent win though.
It was a decent recent win though.
JT seems like a decent guy.
Braxton Miller to Devin Smith to win against Wisconsin in 2011 was pretty sweet.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Was at that one. Insane.
I was there too. It was the loudest, most raucous celebration after a touchdown in the Shoe that I've ever heard.
Miami, Alabama, Oregon, and This.... Ahhh the memories!
Indeed. Why not have both?
Been watching the Buckeyes since about then, too. I cried in ‘69 (I was 12) when the Skunk Weasels upset Woody’s “Greatest Team” - I have NEVER seen a better overall performance or bigger comeback by the Buckeyes.
2morrow you are spot on, it was the fact the team was dead and we were already to bury them. JT and the d-line said jump on our backs. I cannot remember an individual performance for the full 4th quarter to deliver like he did and not just 1 drive
JT kept them in it for 3 qtrs and then just willed them to the Win with a 4th perfect quarter.
That is the best 1 line summary I've seen so far. Thank you TMac.
Yes Tmac. For once I wasn’t drinking the gasoline and was texting everyone I know saying we WILL win. Because we dominated the stat sheet all game
I hope those young QB’s we’re taking notes. That is a leader. Great game JT.
Fortune favors the bold.
But Desmond said that he disappears in the big games....
Any comment from Desmond after the game?
Class of 81
In defense of Desmond (ick), he DID actually pick us to win today.
In defense of Desmond? U should be struck down
Hell Yeah!!!! GO BUCKS! Still high on this win, baby!!!!! JT's a leader. Balls of steel.
I am crying. Wow. Instant classic. And Barrett naysayers will be quiet hopefully for the rest of the season.
I am right there with you brother. I have defended Barrett for the last three years when everyone I know was saying he was old news. Happy for him for this performance tonight. I believe I was crying because of how happy I was for him.
Sorry for the harsh language, but any JT critic that is quiet is a dumbass. I was a JT critic and I’ve been spamming my praise and crow eating all over the 11w comments. JT proved us wrong and I’m very happy about it. That was greatness.
Coach Meyer has often referred to JT as a 'man's man.' We all know why tonight! He is a gentle giant and a fierce competitor. Our offense is in good hands with JT. Go Bucks!
I have no idea what he is feelig, right now, but someone hand the man a cup of tea and post it on Twitter cause he made half our fanbase look silly tonight. Dude is clutch for sure.
"I spent 90 percent of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted." - George Best
I feel bad for doubting him after Clemson and Oklahoma. He's made me a believer again. Absolutely amazing game he played.
Did anybody else choke up a little bit when one of the commentators said "Heart of a Lion" during one of JT's final drives?
“MARCUS BAUGH. JAY. TEE. BARRETT.
Gus Johnson. There should be a rule that every big game OSU plays, he has to be the commentator. Forever.
"There is a force that makes us all brothers, no one goes his way alone." --Woody Hayes
For real. Gus Johnson is my patronus.
How COOL is college football?? - Craig Krenzel
I made a mistake and stumbled over to Penn State's fan site to read their 4th quarter thread. Many of them were under the impression that the commentators favored tOSU. I thought they called a great game. How can anyone NOT get excited about what the Bucks did in the 4th?
Laughable. They had a boner for Barkley all night
He also had 96yds rushing. That can't be left out in addition to those incredible passing #s.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Remarkable performance and inspiring perseverance from a much-maligned young man. Thankfully, despite all our doubts, those who knew best, Coach Urban Meyer et al, remained loyal to J.T. and maintained their confidence in his ability to succeed. It's been a pleasure to see all that has transpired since Oklahoma.
Man I was an idiot for saying JT needed to be benched. But I'm happy that I was proven wrong. Absolutely amazing.
We are not worthy. Let's face it, we didn't deserve this performance from JT
I wish I could upvote this like a million times.
Damn pretty to watch that! great job in the second half for the receivers..defense rose to the challenge! pissed me off at times, got me drunk, made me believe!! Damn right!! a win is a win!!!! J.T. you deserve it!
remember watching him just sort of shaking his head after a holding penalty nullified a crucial pass completion/firstdown midway through the third, it was painful watching that but amazing to see the resilience of character and leadership carry the day
This. JT, we don't know what we've got and you are a special leader who will be appreciated and missed greatly.
OHIO STATE DESERVED EVERY BIT OF THAT WIN. J.T. BROUGHT ME BACK FROM THE DEAD.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
Heisman favorite now IMO. Never would have imagined this a month ago.
Fields of Dreams
This is not Tim Beck's JT Barrett! Wilson and Day after a slow start have really brought out the best in him. It's been like night and day these past few weeks. Save for way too many screen passes.
Born a Badger, Raised a Buckeye
He deserves every bit of the praise. Several of those passes weren’t gimmes. As one of those questioning him after Oklahoma, I’ll proudly eat my crow
Crow never tasted so sweet. I was wrong about J.T. and am proud of him for tuning out all of us naysayers to lead this team. Also, hats off to Urban Meyer for trusting his gut and sticking with J.T. Go Bucks!!!
Give my man some time and he'll make the throws; and oh BTW the guy is a fricken winner!!!
The only hard day was yesterday
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
Congrats on a TOUGH home win Buckeyes
Barrett continues to amaze All of us Buckeyes Fanatics
But Godammit Buckeyes yous nearly KILLED me this day Heh
Ohio is PROUD of the Fight you Won Today
So proud of this guy. Can't put into words his efforts after the fumble. AMAZING. Props to the D and the entire team, but God love JT Barrett!!!
Just...........W O W !
I'm gonna repeat my post game tweet. JT FUCKING BARRETT!
Have you ever seen a fierce animal who you were sure wouldn't bite? Because I haven't.
I seem to have lost both my pants and my desire to look for them.
Droessl, you win the web.
I’m laughing so hard I’m crying.
Trying to figure out why D had on 2 pairs of pants (let alone lost both pairs)
I blame syntax.
U watch fb with pants on normally? Weird
All JT. Against all odds. Special Teams blunders. Bullshit penalties. Bad playcalling. Dropped passes.
Hmm... I seem to recall a video on Youtube with that name that I swear I don't watch at least once a week if not more.
JTs parents must be so proud. He has always had tremendous heart and this year he’s got his confidence back.
I keep hearing negative comparisons to Troy. Really? Troy had tremendous talent and was a leader too but sadly my last memory of him was him giving up on the sidelines against Florida with a towel over his head. JT got frustrated at one point in this game too. He went to the sideline with a blanket for his body and PUT HIS HEADPHONES ON (aka stayed fully engaged in the game and checked in with his coaching staff). That’s a leader and someone humble enough to know that he still can learn despite his experience. That super impressed me. He came out and scored a TD on the next drive.
His humility and his desire to improve is what makes him the outstanding leader he is. He’s a leader but still coachable. Plus his innate confidence in himself to overcome adversity. That’s also good parenting and coaching.
It's the best passing performance we have seen maybe ever.
J! T! BARRET!!!!
I think he finished the game 16 for 16 passing. He completed all of his passes in the 4th and our d line dominated the 4th as well. Great win!
Last two games played JT had 9 touchdowns passing and 12 incompletions total combined. Insane. Include rushing tds and it's 11 TDs and 12 incompletions.
Thank you JTBIV. GO BUCKS!!!!
When my son who is almost two and I have one on the way are old enough to understand, I am showing them this game.
I know I'm being pedantic, but using the word 'perfect' to describe a quarter in which the guy fumbled a handoff seems a little off.
I was the #8 disagree vote
Lol, NorCal. Hey, he ADMITTED he was being pedantic.
Yeah, I probably should've clarified that his performance was insane and I'm totally excited to see him do that in whatever bowl game we end up in (still too many tough games left for me to assume the p-word). But if I'm going to describe a quarter as 'perfect', it's not going to feature a fumbled handoff.
So when do we get the #StartHaskins thread with user names blacked out so we can all enjoy a laugh.
oh why not. I'm sure Haskin's would have hit 150% of his passes in the 4th quarter. Urban needs to make the switch.
I remember still back when Braxton got hurt and people thought I was crazy for saying J.T. would light it up as a Freshman.
We witnessed a glimpse of his greatness in 2014 and I was firmly among those who believed we'd still have won it all with him.
It warms my heart to see him overcome 3 different OCs, admitted misses in OL and WR recruiting and the vitriolic ignorance of some of our fanbase to have this moment.
Enjoy it captain.
Between goals and achievement is discipline and consistency. That fire you have inside to do whatever you love is placed there by God. Now go claim it. ~ Denzel Washington
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
Congrats to you guys on a great game. I started rooting for you guys believe it or not when that stupid TE for PSU did the whole 1st down thing at your bench. Great performance from JT Barrett, he's always killed us with his legs and now that he showed he's capable of throwing like this I can definitely see us losing by at least 3 touchdowns lol.
I started rooting for you guys believe it or not
Thanks, but please don't...
What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.
Don't be that guy
Let’s see: if our RIVAL is the enemy of STLL-NOT-OUR rival, that makes them...
Guys he came in and gave us a compliment. Don't be dicks.
Thanks, MGB, appreciate your class and candor. See you in November.
If the Bucks don't stub their toe the rest of the season, JT won himself a Heisman today.
I love Troy too but it ain't close. JTIV. GOAT
Wow, Heisman moment on the kickoff for Barkley, but an even bigger Heisman moment - a complete statement game - for JTB. I'll have my crow with my morning coffee!
On this day I vow to never say anything bad about JT ever again.
“SWING!....... SWING!!........ SWING!!!!!!!”
Might have been the single-best college performance by a QB I have ever witnessed--certainly the GOAT of any Ohio State QB and definitely one of the top 4th quarters by any QB ever. Should be noted that 3/4 of JT's incompletions were drops. Absolute Heisman Moment(s).
JT Barrett for Heisman. It may have taken 37 years, but he has been so good.
Joe. Thomas. Barrett.
JT In the Clutch:
2014- PSU double OT with a hurt ankle
2016- Wisconsin OT
2016- TTUN drove down the field only for Durbin to miss the FG, drive down to tie the game, and two TD's in OT
He can't end the narratives, and he many not be a NFL QB, but I trust this guy in close games.
I was a huge J.T. fan for so long but I had my idiotic moment when I berating him after the Oklahoma game. I literally cried after this game for J.T.! WOW - what a game he played and I will never, EVER, say another bad word about this young man again!!! He removed a MASSIVE gorilla off his back and forever silenced all his doubters!!! Unfuckingbeliable...
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
I'm finding it difficult to find the words for what I witnessed tonight......
wow, just ......................................... wow
I haven't been through an emotional wringer like that since the 2003 Fiesta Bowl.
A good general always makes you search for his weaknesses. - Woody Hayes
I just remembered that at least 2 of his non dropped incompletions were also pretty blatantly PI. The Dixon deep pass (which was probably his worst placed pass of the night) and the corner end zone to hill. So essentially he really had 1 true incompletion... damn. Hell of a game by QB1
Also the three passes prior to the streak to end the game were a drop by Hill, a fortunate defensive holding call on the catch and fumble by Victor, and a holding call on Know on a long completion to Hill I think.
That pass to Baugh was terrible. Wobbly mess with no spiral. JT can't throw.
Sorry. Don't know wtf my iPad did there to triple post.
Hell, I'll upvote all of them
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
I said in 2014 and I’ll say it again. Joe Thomas Barrett will go down as the best Ohio State Quarterback ever. Build a statue of this man.
