Love these throwback articles. The ads are the best. Bears with Beers is an underutilized marketing genius. Never had a Schlitz, am I missing out?

SoulPatrol32,
Never had it either. I remember it as a bottom shelf beer and always associated the name Shlitz with shits.

Marketing must work, because of these old bear ads I'll give it a chance if I come across it.

Thats funny when I read the article first thing I thought of was the Schmitt’s Skit from SNL.

Despite a 32-21 victory over Indiana last Saturday, Ohio State's gridiron forces dropped from 19th to 23rd spot in the national ratings by Paul B. Williamson.

Wait a minute, Matt. Wasn't 1942 the year of TOSU's first National Championship? If so, they made a heckuva climb up the ladder from Oct. 7th onward.

I am not very smart, but I recognize that I'm not very smart. --- W.W. Hayes

Thank goodness the AP started to rank teams in 1936, it was bad enough for Paul B. Williamson to drop the Buckeyes but to drop Indiana from 14 to 46 wow! I like SP enjoy the ads from another era.
