Friday. Maybe I'm slightly cranky, but you do you, Jackson Carman...and I don't care wherever you do it. Go Buckeyes.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
I've been saying this for a few days now. Maybe it is a get off my lawn thing, but I'm not ready to accept a recruiting future where recruits can dictate what moves a coach makes with his roster
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
I get these kids are getting due attention, but good lord.
The STFU factor here is sorely lacking.
They're special kids, no question, they are elite talents. But it's one of those things... Like, you still have to carry yourself a certain way. Bottom line, you're an amateur, but the expectation is be a pro.
Absolutely. Thinking you need to make an example. If you patronize them now, before they're even here...smh.
"Three things can happen when you pass the ball, and two of them are bad." - Woody
I bet if he had the same thing to say about Dabo Swinney's locker room it would have been met with as much disdain as we met it with.
Do we really want someone who is already creating division, who isnt even a part of the program and isnt even in college yet? Ill take a five star character guy any day of the week.
"The future is bright at Ohio State."
"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends"
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
Five star and character aren't always tied together. I'd still take Parsons and Jackson, but they both need a dose of reality, PDQ.
I see a Seantrel Henderson possibility all over again. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/5/5/5683022/seantrel-hend...
I'm glad I checked out of the Henderson drama early and often. Dude was changing schools like a teenage girl changing outfits.
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Also, 12 yo girls are embarrassed by Doc Tressel’s emails.
While I'm not a 12 yo girl...I too cringed while reading that part.
I just talked to her last week. She was gonna make a pot for me.
That Dude better never give up a sack, ever or else some current 5th grader is going to be on twitter in a few years saying he should be benched for the 3rd string Tackle.
That karma, it's a bastard too.

Months ago I saw a picture of Carman with Urban, Carman was sticking his tongue out. I thought, "who the fuck does this kid think he is?" I wonder if Urban thought/thinks that.
Lifetime vs. UM: L 8-1, C 7-0, T 4-0
I think it's real easy for these kids to say what they're saying knowing Barrett won't be here next year regardless. I have a feeling if this was between Burrow/Haskins the recruits wouldn't say anything because they would actually be in the locker room with them the following year.
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
Great points - I didn't even think of that until you mentioned it
I don't think these recruits are smart enough - or have enough self awareness - to think of that either. Lol
I'm not sure that makes it better. I feel the best thing to do is confront things, not to take the coward's way out and say things when you know you won't have to confront it. And I especially feel that about an OL, who has to literally confront someone on every play, not to mention the relationship with the QB they must have.
I bleed scarlet...literally
OK, I'll play devil's advocate. I listened to that brief interview with Carmen. His explanation of the tweet and his response to Herbstreit made sense and are plausible. I also thought he came across as a pretty smart kid, and he did not come across as "entitled" in the context of his peer group, i.e., 5 star CFB recruits in 2017. To me, the real issue is: why did Herbie feel the need to respond and get into a back and forth with the kid? He certainly must know that when he tweets to an OSU recruit, he will be seen as representing OSU and its fan base to a certain extent. And he clearly did not grasp the meaning of Carmen's tweets, or others' tweet on the subject for that matter. I think DJ noted a few days ago how Herbie completely missed the point of Woodbey's Lion/Sheep tweet and put Jaiden on the defensive EVEN THOUGH HE WAS IN AGREEMENT WITH HERBIE.
Bottom line is Twitter is a terribly inefficient and clumsy medium for conveying anything more complicated than "Ate at Arby's today. AWESOME!!" Readers should treat tweets accordingly.
Just my humble opinion.
I'm team Disturbed Sound of Silence too D.J.
I am no fan of Disturbed in general, but this version is tremendous. Then again, my daughter would choose the version on the Trolls soundtrack, so I hear the original even less than that one or the Disturbed version.
"They say, "these geeks come a dime a dozen. I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes." -Classy Freddie Blassie
I like how it builds into a crescendo and gets more and more powerful as the song progresses.
Sure, just take out the original and replace it with some young'n. Looks like that's what the other young'ns want, if I read this internet thing correctly. Luckily I soon won't have a yard they can even be on. That'll fix them!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
The build is the best part. I would liken it in a way to Am I Evil? by Diamond Head and then covered by Metallica. I like the original just fine, but the extra build and power in the Metallica version just improves upon it and adds another layer.
S&G as a band >>>>>>> Disturbed as a band
Disturbed's "SoS" >>>>>>> S&G's version
"Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect." -- Woody Hayes
Hoping for a good clean game and no injuries. Outside of entertainment I'm not sure how much we really gain from this matchup.
Hopefully, a victory. Maybe the linebackers can learn some discipline and the offense can gain some confidence. Hopefully, the coaches can learn what works best and stop trying to force things that we don't do well.s
Fans are incredibly fickle. A win would greatly improve morale of the entire fanbase, regardless of if all issues have been fixed or not.
Saban could have left it at "I wouldn't tell you anyway", but assholes are gonna asshole, I guess. Happy Friday y'all!
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
Idk. Saban is a horse's ass but it can also be pretty funny. I get a chuckle out of it. You know he's fuming.
I find Saban entertaining as well, in the same way I enjoy listening to Jose Mourinho, currently of Manchester United. No fan of the team, but love it when he starts getting all worked up simply to be an ass.
Personally, I can't stand Saban, but it is fun to watch him get pissed. But on the other side, the dude is right - I'm not going to tell you the game plan, and you should be flogged with reeds for asking. It just kills me that these reporters act like you should spill every detail to them as if they're owed it; it'd be like asking GEN Patton for all his battle plan info prior to an assault against the Wehrmacht - just ridiculous.
"Just because nobody complains doesn't mean all parachutes are perfect" - Benny Hill
Dude's gonna strike out at one of these pressers someday.
Well, I have no idea what you do for a living, or if you're even old enough to earn one, but imagine at the end of every work day you had to meet with the media and they asked you why you sent this package to that destination, and to explain your thought process when you wrote what you wrote in a particular email at 11am, and why you decided to use employee X in Sales/Marketing instead of employee Y... and when, btw, will employee Y finally get his shot? I love the way Saban (and Belichick) deals with the media. It's MUCH more interesting than the garden variety exchanges that clog sports reels on the news. I hate Alabama, but I respect the holy dog shit out of Saban.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
To be fair, and I agree, however; ever listen in on a conference call hosted by a bunch of different analysts of a publicly traded company, whether they met, exceeded or, especially, missed their quarterly numbers?
Point taken, GB. Glad you made it thru Irma... that bitch.
but I respect the holy dog shit out of Saban.
Not only is this an image that is hard to conjure up ... but I'm having a hard time simply reconciling the fact that you have put together so many words in one phrase that are usually far removed from each other.
You don't know what you have until it's gone .... for example, toilet paper.
... but I'm having a hard time simply reconciling the fact that you have put together so many words in one phrase that are usually far removed from each other.
Well, I'm special...
Jackson needs to commit elsewhere, hate to say it but you are wearing out your welcome. Go Bucks. Let's get back on track this week. I hate beating up on our amazing military, but we need a big win tomorrow.
I agree that ALL of those recruits' tweets we're ridiculous and out of line, but I'm not willing to say we don't want him (although it feels like the ship has already set sail). There's time for him to get in line and become the man he thinks he already is.
He's not even a team member yet and he's dividing the locker room. I'm skeptical at best at offerring him. I'm less skeptical at offing him (in a recruiting sense) Sheesh.
Ako ne možete postavljati bez gluposti ... nemojte
I thought that interview was actually pretty good. He came off well spoken and thought through on his opinions.
Someone more committed than me should save all the comments like this and the "Parsons is really immature" type stuff. Because when either/both of them commit suddenly there's going to be a lot of "I ALWAYS wanted him!! BOOM!!"
You are probably correct, and that is sad. But I am pretty confident that not everyone will be happy to hear about at least one possible commitment. I'd still take Parsons, though. It feels like he just doesn't think sometimes, which can be learned. A self absorbed asshole is a bit more difficult to condone.
Let's all raise a glass to the 11W staffers.
They routinely feed our obsession at all hours of the day. 5am on a Friday and I've already fed the scarlet beast inside of me.
F#@k 'em, Run 'em over! - Woody on tTUN
Twitter - the tool that allows 18 year olds to offer hot takes, while adults get #madonline and no longer want 5-star lineman to commit to their school.
There are a lot of examples where h.s. Players exhibiting the exact behaviors as carman were completly predictive of a rough college career. Many of which usually resulted in 2-3 college stops and a juco. So to blame the fans....
had carman made the mistake and apologized or just stfu you forgive and forget. But now his BCD behavior is literally straight out of Urbans book Above the Line. ANy semi reasonable person's spidey senses should be tingling. Somone get that kid a copy FAST.
I'm not saying that I agree with Jackson Carmen. I am saying that way too many people (read: ADULTS) let opinions bother them. Just turn off the monitor, unfollow him, block him, etc. There are other roads to be taken. That is all.
It's not the opinion that's catching people's attention. It's the hubris, the lack of self-awareness. You really think that this sort of thing doesn't happen from every recruit every week because the rest don't also have an opinion? No, it is because some have a sense of self-control, self-discipline to know that just because they have a notion in their head doesn't mean the world needs to hear it. Personally, I don't even do twitter, but if you are going to put things out there to your "fans," you accept what comes with it.
"Woody would have wanted it that way"
I didn't pick up hubris at all from his "beef" with Herbstreit. I did pick up an outdated opinion from Kirk, though (all recruits from all schools should keep quiet). I am also unsure why you think I'm under the impression this is exclusive to Carmen? I'm not the kid's dad, brother, cousin, mentor, etc. so I won't speak to his self-control, or lack thereof, as you have mentioned. Again, I'm more turned off by fans being so impacted by a kid's opinion. Maybe I don't eat, breathe, and sleep OSU football the way some on this site do. I've given the University enough of my money, and I've seen a good return on my investment. Am I fan? Yep. Do I get worked up over an 18 year old saying to put in a back up QB and then say that Clemson or FSU wouldn't mind having him? Nope.
Sorry. Its not his opinion that bothers me. Its the sense of IDGAF attitude towards the ramifications of what comes out of his pie hole. I agree. Its not a perfect predictor of future performance. But its a hint.
You gained an upvote from me. I do agree, his attitude, especially in interviews about this subject, leaves much to be desired. With that said, I trust the staff to make the best decision for not just the team, but for the University as well. If that means they believe Carmen will be all-in, and won't cause issues, I trust that stance. Some may see my stance as one that lacks pride; however, the truth is, I find myself unmoved by the opinions of someone who has not even committed to the scarlet and grey.
Why is Haskins throwing a Wilson ball and not a Nike? Is this a subtle dig at his offensive coordinator? He should wear a suit and not his jersey so we will know that he's transferring. So childish.
They're all chickens. The rooster has sex with all of them.
OSU uses Wilson footballs made in Ada, Ohio.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
Not on top of this. Does that mean there are only Wilson footballs at OSU home games?
Each team has their own footballs that they use during games.
Thanks DJ for putting the picture of Haskins at the top.
I think he's buttering up his offensive coordinator by using a football named after said coach.
You Got Barbecue Back There!?!?!?!
Makes you think.
Why is Haskins throwing a Wilson ball and not a Nike? Is this a subtle dig at his offensive coordinator? He should wear a suit and not his jersey so we will know that he's transferring. So childish.
We wore the white "throwbacks" against Clemson.
Just so everyone is clear, I was attempting to make a commentary on some fans reactions. Perhaps I should have used italics, but hubris got the better of me.
I got it Faux. Everyone freaked out when Braxton Miller wore a suit to graduation and that was during the time many people thought he'd be transferring.
You're all good.
I don't like looking ahead, but I'm interested in going to Ohio to drink Pennsylvania beer?
I am still waiting on tempo, where the hell did it go?!? Seems that we seem to be playing more conservative each year that passes by, where is the aggressiveness, I only see it on 4th downs in our own territory..
We tried to run tempo the first half of the Indiana game. It seemed to go much better in the second half when we slowed down.
But I argue that our best drive of the OU game we had tempo (first drive of the second half) and the offense was humming.
Actually, we came out playing tempo on the very first drive of the OU game-- and promptly laid an egg execution-wise, with a :39 second three-and-out that pretty much set the tone in the first half.
It's great to talk about playing tempo, but you don't just get to say, "OK, we're a fast-paced team now." This team needs to get more comfortable operating at a high speed. Coach Wilson said the same thing in his presser comments about spending more time in practice on just that. It will come, but it's still a work in progress.
We played with tempo when Herman was our OC..
I don't know why Herbstreit would go out of his way to tweet something to a HS kid in the first place, doesn't he have anything better to do? i don't know if he still follows me or not but I used to talk OSU sports with Kendal Sheffield before I knew who he was. Had no idea he was a recruit in D1 football, lol
yea Saban is a dick, but to be fair some reporters ask dumb questions. If Saban wasn't required to do press conferences he wouldn't. Probably not as bad as White House press conferences with stupid questions. Or our very own Tim May from the dispatch asking boring questions. I think Tim May is a alien robot btw.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
I think while herbie tries to be unbiased he is still VERY passionate about Ohio State and it hit a nerve which is understandable imo
"required to do press conferences"
You're absolutely right. You know it's the least favorite part of their job. Interesting though, that I didn't see anyone come to Urban's defense when he was asked stupid question after stupid question earlier this week. Some "fans" even intimated that maybe he's losing his coaching touch.
They get paid an awful lot of money to do those press conferences.
No, they get paid to win championships, conference and national. Press conferences are the shit part of the job that is required. I'm sure there's some part of your job that you can relate to this. I know there is in mine.
21st century media, twitter is a big part of everyone's job, sadly. So in a sense, no, Herbie doesn't have better things to do. Twitter presence has become a part of research and promotion for them. Personally, I wish Herbie had just ignored him. He doesn't deserve any more "fame" than he already has for his hot takes.
I wonder if Urban is like "STFU Herbie, I can handle this."
Regarding the comment having 6 WRs, I get the same feel about our DBs. For example, I thought for sure we'd have seen Okudah get some time. Sadly, I don't have a lot of faith in the current group coming up to help v the run.
No worries about help with the run game. Our LBers are biting on every hand-off (actual and theoretical) /s
It seems to me that Sheffield and Arnette were more ready than Wade and Okudah. Wade and Okudah have much higher ceilings than those two, or at least Arnette. Sheffield has played junior college ball. I think when you play a freshman right off the bat, you have to be sure this will make them a a better player. Players like Okudah and Wade need to keep their confidence, which helps give them an edge. Throwing them out there against Oklahoma and Indiana would have stunted them IMO. Oklahoma had to win that game, while we must win the big ten; we werent willing to risk the future for that one game. I predict you see more and more of wade and Okudah until they are both ready and you can't ignore them. I agree with you, but the timing is very important and I think coach Kerry has thought about this a lot. Arnette had the chance and has more and does tackle well....that may be what they beed to see from the freshman: more physical tackling. Still, I predict at least Okudah to take over eventually.
Agree. In Coombs we trust. CB play has been maybe our most consistently quality unit in Meyer's tenure. I trust they improve. The issues I see with Sheffield and Arnette are fixable. They have most of the time had good position and tackled fairly well, but need to get turned, find the ball, and stay loyal to their assignments. That one embarrassing play where they both got beat by play action against OKLA was truly terrible, but it is fixable, coachable stuff. Ward is becoming more and more solid on the other side. Okudah will see the field more by mid-season and will be a very good lock-down corner. But no one arrives that way. Including Malik Hooker.
I would say RB has been our most consistently quality unit.
That's true. And DE has been pretty great. But Coombs just has done such great work every year with them. He and Mickey Marotti are I think the only constants who have been with Meyer since 2012 that I haven't once found myself questioning.
I don't even want to know what is on your comforter. The dry cleaner may need a forensics expert.
“Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” - Mark Twain
My guess is probably a bunch of cat hair and dander.
No harm, no foul.
And possibly a hairball.
I feel bad saying this about a recruit/kid but piss on him. He gives the impression he's trying to prove a point that just because I'm in state doesn't mean I have to like you. And to think your 17 yr old opinion carries more weight than Ohio States coaching staff if absurd. I think there are unsaid rules of how to carry yourself during recruiting and he seems like an entitled brat. I won't lose sleep if we stop recruiting him. Not because of the qb comment but more so the dabo ect comment. Thought that was a little cocky and disrespectful
Stop TWITTER. That's all I got.
Service academies always make me a little nervous. The injury factor plus their unusual offense is always a recipe for disaster not just for that game, but also the following week. It just throws a wrench into the season that I don't really like. On top of that, I don't like rooting for them to lose. I have a brother in law in the Army, and a cousin at the Citadel who is enlisting in the Army. I don't want to cheer against them. I will. But I don't want to.
Personally I'd almost rather Carmen go somewhere else at this point. Granted, he's a young kid and he has some growing up to do. But he seems like a bit of a diva to me. He's a great talent, but I'm not a fan of all the drama. We get it dude, you don't want people assuming that you're going to be a Buckeye. Everybody is free to handle their business as they see fit and who am I to say that the way he goes about it is right or wrong? But I personally don't really like it.
One of these days, someone is going to provide a list of the incredible number of injuries that are supposedly produced by triple option offenses....
I've been asking for that as well. I watch the service academies all the time and it doesn't seem to me that there are more DL guys going down than in other games.
Did the Buckeyes even lose a defensive player for a play the last time we played Navy?
Started reading the story about the Mom hiring a hitman and instantly was drawn to this story
Saw a headline yesterday about a surfer, but didn't read. Sounds like this 'bloke' is one in the same. It sounds like there were some warning signs...beware the "mugger" croc!
Reading the wmd hit man story was very sad. Thankfully the mother of the murderer hired a undercover policeman and not some dumbass who came over here and tried to kill our Eddie. Congrats to the Tribe! Hope for an injury free game for both teams tomorrow.
It will be B1G officials Saturday. You can bet Urban has already talked to the B1G office about watching for illegal blocks. I heard Tom Luginbill talk about the worst half time interview he ever had with a coach. It was Troy Calhoun at half time of a game with MSU. Mountain West refs had called four illegal blocking penalties in the first half.
Most Ws in a row in MLB, (That 1916 run by the Giants had a Tie in the middle of it) But the WIndians might as well go on and get there too. But first, on to 23.

ONE Not Done!
GO FOR 23!!!
You can listen to Tom Hamilton with replays of the end of each of the first 21 games here: http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2017/09/listen_to_each_of_tom_h...
No it did not have a tie in the middle. The game was vacated and replayed the next day. SO, other than the player stats, it does not exist. MLB does not recognize ties as valid games. The game was played as part of a double header the next day.
That anyone recognizes it or not is irrelevant. A game was played and it was a tie. Are you telling me we didn't beat tTUN on 11/27/2010 because someone doesn't recognize it? Cause I saw it and we won. You can count however you like, I'm counting games played and results achieved.
That Jay Bruce pick-up by the WIndians is working out pretty well.....
Jay Bruce played his first game with the @Indians on Aug. 10. Cleveland is 31-5 since then.
— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) September 15, 2017
I feel like Bruce was the piece they were missing up to that point. Like he's what Napoli was to them last year, only with more offensive contribution. (We miss the parties at Napoli's, tho.)
Plus I think Napoli tailed off at the end of the year, while Bruce's production and protection behind Edwin have added a much needed spark to the offense.
I have a feeling Carman still ends up at OSU and has a great career. And all of this is forgotten.
If he goes elsewhere, so be it. Ohio State will be fine.

Old me: let's throw some 50-50 balls and let our athletes go get them.
New me: burn it all down!
"I don't think you necessarily have to get a trophy to be a winner." - Nick Saban 1/2/15.
Yeah, you're damn right I prefer the Disturbed remix over the Simon & Garfunkel original.
So does adult contemporary radio. Congrats on reaching middle age, DJ.

Some people want to prove a point and play the contrarian role, but lack the fortitude to do it out right. If something is not right for you, eliminate it from consideration and move on.
Jackson Carman and I are both looking for a healthy dose of Haskins tomorrow.
I liked that remake by Disturbed a lot more than I expected to.
Most love Ohio State but hate the 3 year offensive meltdown. We absolutely love our head coach but the running (without a passing threat) QB is killing us. Recruiting targets have noticed. Why haven't you good sir ? Everything needed is here and available. Better choices are what's needed - NOW.
I thought the Wonder Woman wmd was very interesting. I had no clue on the backstory of the creator and his multiple lovers. Now that I see there is a movie coming on his story I will have to check that out.
This whole recruit story doesn't really bug me for some reason. I do wonder why Herbie got himself involved, but other than that people get on Twitter and spout whatever they want all the time. Comes with the territory methinks.
Just a reminder.... DON'T TWEET CRUITS!!! We are mostly all grown ass men and women, no reason to be tweeting 17 yr old high school kids.
So this will be a unique game
I'm glad you ended with Saban DJ, because he was who I thought of when I read this.
When Saban was retooling his offenses (and breaking in New quarterbacks, which he's done a lot) in the past, he'd have games where he'd get control of the game running it, then throw it 50+ times, just to let his offense work in things.
In games like this one, and next week against UNLV, where Ohio State simply has too much talent to lose, it's the type of thing that I wouldn't be surprised to see.
Prepare for the meltdowns if the Bucks only win 38-0.

Sick of Carman and his loosely veiled threats of going to Clemson or USC. Shut up already and go.
Buckeye For Life
Yeah, I'm with you. His offer needs to be pulled and news of it being pulled needs to be leaked. Then he can go somewhere else and the next guy up can get a chance.
A man got to have a code...
With Army and the cut blocks...they've played two games so far this year, have they taken out any opponents' players yet?
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
This is an EXCELLENT question.
Let's look at Fordham's starting D line in game 1 and game 2:
vs Army: Green, Adeyeye, Ware, Dimon -- next game: hey, same guys!
Obviously we can't yet look at Buffalo post-Army, but we can at least compare starters vs Army with posted depth chart.
vs Army: Harris, Brandon, Ford, Harris -- game notes for next game: Harris, Brandon, Ford, Harris
Belated welcome to the site, good luck tomorrow.
Thanks, ArmyVisitor! So, while the Buckeyes might not see this type of blocking very often, if it is legal - and apparently it is - it's something they have to deal with and prepare for.
BEAT ARMY (that kinda hurts)
It's so legal that every football team does it. When a RB takes on a blitzing LB, he usually doesn't take him on like a lineman taking on a lineman, he goes low.
I dislike chop blocks as much as anyone. I love cut blocks as much as any triple option fan -- and as much as any football fan should.
This should be a very interesting game. 24 more hours to go.
Stuff it, millennials. Just sayin....
Nice one, GB.
Paul Simon? Really?
Looks like Lee Corso
Zone6, with rotating WR's, will have 1000+ yards at all 3 WR positions this season
I refuse to listen to that Carman video, can someone summarize it for me?
Something, something, man (kid) bun, something, something.
Did anyone else see Andy Dalton throw into triple coverage and A.J. Green still come down with the ball? Triple coverage. Our guys can't catch it wide open :(
I know we beat this horse to death, but it is impossible to watch the Bengals suck without pondering on how they have zero Ohio State alum on their roster. Browns and Bengals suck. Compare that to the other teams within the same distance roughly, Indy, Detroit, Pittsburgh... It's almost as if drafting Buckeyes by default makes your team better. The Ohio teams don't buy into that yet.
Not like the team on the other sideline is overflowing with them either. Braxton Miller is one of my favorite Buckeyes ever but he's been a bust in the NFL thus far.
I'm sick of the recruits at this point - lets just focus on fixing the problems with this team and go forward. No recruit means that much to the program, but getting this O to play on all cylinders is critical. I do wonder if our O is too predictable and talented teams and good game plans are just tacking away what we do. Maybe we should totally change the O scheme. Sorry, but I got nothing else.
I thought what Jackson said was fine and makes me not dislike him as much. I'd still take him, but only if he really wants to be hear. I'd be checking on back-up plans. Parsons can go to Nebraska. Nothing against him personally, but we might as well go all in on Tyreke or Oweh or both and bow out on Parsons.
And while most of the heat has fallen on J.T. Barrett (who is not blameless), his receivers have not helped him out on contested balls.
Source? CFB FILM ROOM. OK. I Googled CFB Film Room and went to their site. No 2017 stats that I could find. Good concept, and I hope they get it off the ground. But at this point, it looks like a one-man-one-dog operation. I couldn't find any data on "contested balls" for any team. I was looking for their criteria. Like how do they define a contested ball? That's a very broad and vague term without some clear parameters. Found NONE on CFB Film Room. In fact I could find no mention of "contested balls" on their site, whatsoever. Just that line on their Twitter feed.
Looked like a "site under construction" to me. (at best)
The typical "grade out" data I wanted to see was mainly the ball placement of the contested ball. Was it catchable? Was it thrown to the Red side or the Green side (to the side the DB was on, or to the side the DB was not on )? Was it caught and then blasted out by a hit from a safety or LB? Was it batted? Was it tipped? Time on game clock of referenced data (like, 00:00)? Many other considerations come into play in a bona fide WR grade report. Saw nothing on their site to back up that Tweet. Basic data. All missing.
Jackson Carmelo reminds me a little of the Seantrel Henderson drama that we went through. More trouble that their worth.
I kind of enjoyed the spring game offense. Now that's what I call airing it out.

Interesting saffron article, thank you, DJ.
Another use of the "world's most expensive spice," was to dye the clothes of the wealthy with a golden yellow color. Only the richest could afford saffron, so it was a status symbol in the middle East.
Thus an authentic painting of the three wise men shows them wearing saffron-colored golden capes.

Yeah, I'm late to the party - this having a job thing is starting to cramp my style.....
I actually take issue with both Herbstreit & Carmen for this useless Twitter battle; though I do agree (because I'm old) recruits should keep their mouth shut about how a team is run (let your school selection be your response), I also believe the adults should be adults, regardless of their position in society, and keep their mouth shut in public, also. If you want to help a kid, pull them aside privately and give them your input - it's up to them if they wish to put it to use.
IMHO, all three editions of Sound Of Silence are excellent (Simon & Garfunkel, Disturbed & Bobaflex versions), as they have their merits; the old guy in me will always put the original first, but the young guy in my head loves cranking the other 2.
