I want to die
Don't do it! JT's weenie arm isn't worth it, man!
Thanks for allowing me to laugh once tonight.
You wanna join me in South Florida? We can swim in sadness together.
I know Mayfield said it was the fans singing the alma mater, but I think what he really meant was the fans doing the O-H-I-O cheer around the stadium. That could really rub fans and players the wrong way. Planting a flag is a douche move.
Remember to get your wolverine spayed or neutered. TBDBITL "Defend Your Shoe" AZNCHIPMUNK
as he should. it's about time urban resigns because i'm tired of his complacency
Dude. Get a grip, man. That's just silly.
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
you get a get grip. i screenshotted this so you better be ready for flak when we drop to 9-4 after our bowl loss
These are the types of people that make OSU fans look bad. I'm pissed. I wish things went differently. I wouldn't trade UFM for anyone alive
I'm bummed, but there's nothing to be pissed about. They beat our ass and deserved to celebrate.
I wish the kid was less jerkish...but he earned the right to celebrate.
anyone?? I'd take Saban in a heart beat.
Not even mad. Don't want it to happen?
Don't allow your ass to be kicked
Those 400 passing yards were more offensive to me.
Logged in purely to upvote this. Same goes from Dabo's preseason quotes about watching OSU film and knowing we were in trouble vs. Clemson. Don't like it? Beat 'em. Otherwise, take the ass-kicking and move on.
The North remembers.
Yea that's how I feel about it. He earned it.
I guess he earned the right to be a dick? Fine. I'm actually not mad at him but I lost a little respect as I am not sure why he felt he needed to do that. You kicked ass on the field so why do you have to go pull out you manhood and wave it around he center of the field?
Honest question: Did OSU actually sing the fight song after the game last year?
I ask because I think that he did the flag thing because he was embarrass about last year...especially the Buckeyes singing the fight song. But I believe that his anger was misplaced because we sing he alma mater after every game.
Think they sang Carmen Ohio like every other game. It was not done with intent to shame OU or Mayfield. It is tradition after all games. At least that is my understanding.
That's was what I thought. I just heard radio guy afternoon radio guy and announcer mention how he didn't like hearing the Buckeyes sing the fight song. Context would have helped them.
How about sportsmanship and class? This type of thing is never acceptable! Winning a game doesn't excuse being a dickhead.
yep. he may have won the game and planted the flag on our field, but we are "Champions of Life"...............................
Who said others have to abide by sportmanship and class?
Just because it should be enacted, doesn't mean it will be
Right, but it can be criticized. Aside from the guy who wants to wants to dan Urban, most criticism has been reasonable on both sides. Don't want it done? Beat them. Don't want it criticized? Don't do it.
I hope we beat him with Haskins, Burrow, or Tate in bowl season.
plz plz plz anyone but jt
or any of our numerous talented running backs
Anyone that complains about this is a loser. If you don't like it then you shouldn't get your ass kicked on your own field.
Are you kidding me? At the end of the day it's kids playing sports. Sports are the epitome of sportsmanship and this is a classless bunch of bullshit. Win lose or draw sportsmanship trumps all and this is trash. I could care less that we win or lose, I'm not that big of a crybaby about a game but I have coached sports for years and sportsmanship in all levels is important. no class whatsoever
Kids are 10. 18+ is men... ain't no kids on that field there, boss...
When I was 18-22 I was still a kid and as I remember this is still a game. Get a life lmao
Thing one: anyone telling someone else on a message board to "get a life" should consult a mirror.
Thing two: I don't care how you feel about how you were when you were 18, you were technically and legally an adult...
Hey Chris, I'm going to speak "Caveman", so you understand...
(Just realized I needed to give the above explanation in "Caveman", so he understood..) Anyway, here we go:
"DUR HUR, DUR HUR.. WEN WE DA 18 DOOOOON'T
DOOOOONT MEEEN DAT VEEE ALL DEWEEEELAP DA SAMES! OTAY?
If he waked around the Horseshoe and gave the bird to Ohio State fans, I would understand the whole sportsmanship angle. He acted like he was planting a flag in a field for christ's sake. It was a harmless act.
I'm laughing out loud thinking about people literally getting angry watching a college kid do something this harmless.
So, you don't see how planting that flag in the middle of the "O", with his teammates around him going nuts, might seem like a big middle-finger to Ohio State and all its fans? Especially given that Mayfield did it because he specifically stated he didn't like our players singing to our fans, last year?
Tell me HolyBuckeye, what does 1+1 equal, in your world? 11?
I'll take the other side of that one. Actually giving the finger is harmless. Who does a finger truely hurt? It's a gesture like blowing a kiss. Now thrusting a flag in turf to puncture the turf is harmful. And it could cause an expense to fix. I'm just saying.
is that you Butch Jones??
I have to agree with you there. To the winner belongs the spoils. Our players and fans had a good old time on their field last season, and deservedly so.
If the team is upset about it, play better.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
2 can play your game. Anyone who supports this is a childish jackass. There are lines to cross and not cross. And besides, it's not like this is even a rivalry or anything. It's just a bush league, low class move by a player who doesn't know how to control himself. And as a senior, he should know better.
I never said I support it. I wouldn't have done it if I was in his shoes. I just think it's dumb to get mad about. The stadium was practically empty of OSU fans. It was just OU fans celebrating and a passionate college athlete having fun after a big road win with a harmless act.
Yea.. the stadium was nearly empty. And no one was there to see it.. OH WAIT.. there's an invention called TELEVISION.
So actually, many people saw it, and it's the reason we're having this discussion.
But don't mind my logic. I mean.. you're doing so well trying to overlay your lack of pride or care as the way the rest of us (who actually do give a damn), should feel.
You miss the point, it wasn't celebrating. It was blantant disrespect to the Ohio State Brand to do that in the center of the O. Look at how many fights have been because of the same action. It's poor sportsmanship. You won, celebrate but you don't have to basically whip your dick out and piss on the logo
So you think TO running to the star in Dallas was fair game? Get a grip, that's highly disrespectful, and as an alumni I take great pride in that block O. To the riches go the spoils, I get it. But there is a line and Mayfiked and OU just look classless.
Listen you Dorito munching, Sonic binge-eating couch potato (*&k.
I cannot stand fleshy orifices like you, who probably would wheeze walking from his bedroom to the fridge for another Ben&Jerry's.
It DOES matter. From rec-league to pro, how one conducts him or herself after victory and defeat, matters.
I didn't like it; but then again we shouldn't lose to Oklahoma. It is what it is
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Agreed. If anything, what stings most is when you get the reminder that other schools (like Oklahoma) showcase their talent - while Ohio State has 50yr old fat guys hoggin all the camera time
OSU didn't execute and lost to horrible officiating. BOTH things can be true
Oklahoma has their student body representing at Ohio stadium, and we see that fucking big nut idiot and buck i guy and all that garbage. Idiots
Looks like buck I guy or big nut are trolling you
Buck-I-Guy was the only one standing up in the 4th quarter still cheering.. first time I saw the camera catch him and he was paying more attention to the game..
Not really sure I can be mad about this. If anything, it's really funny. It's a fake field...so the flag falls to the ground.
I hate the offseason.
Yeah...that 'planted' flag stayed upright about as long as Mayfield stayed upright after those Arkansas police started playing a game of 'tag' with him.
See? This is the kind of comedy we deserve.
Classless piece of shit. Act like you been there and remember 365 days ago you were on the other end
at least he can throw a football
We have lots of guys who can throw. They hold clipboards and wait for overrated JT to finally leave
Well said. Drop the mic and exit stage.
But I thought they were all just kids? Does that apply to Baker, Pat?
Not sure why your trolling me or what them being kids has to do with it.
He has always been and remains a thug.
Funny how not one mention was made of the Fayetteville 10 (yard sprint). Douchebag.
Life is full of choices. Make good ones.
Cops played better defense than we did.
You won- cool, talk shit. But fuck this! Why didn't someone from our squad stop this shit...
They couldn't stop him in the game when it counted why would they be able to now?
Good point, didn't show any fight during the game. At least stop this shit
Fuck that piece of shit
Classless move Mayfield. You could have just walked off the field and I would have said there goes the Heisman winner. Instead may karma find you this season.
That was my thought.
May Karma not only find Mayfield, may it bite him in the ass!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Defend home field and this isn't an issue.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
Thought it was more embarrassing that EVERYONE on the planet knew they were going to run the ball on that last drive and they picked up chunk after chunk after chunk.
Mayfield earned that... hopefully the flag planting provides a spark and gets these guys pissed off...including the coaches.... time to open up some of the spots on the depth chart..
Flag stuck to our artificial field about as well as the football sticks to our receivers gloves.
You mean the 1 out of 10 times the ball gets close enough for them to actually get a glove on it.
Correct. It's possible, had that been JT, he may have missed the "O"
Now I'm imagining JT going to plant a flag at mid-field and it somehow landing out of bounds at the 40.
But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. So much darker. And so much madder. And so much better. -Dr. Who, "Love and Monsters"
This team should be embarrassed. Mayfield should have pulled his pants down and shit on it.
Isolation is the enemy of improvement
Too far dude!
Yeah man, hard working Ohioans would've had to clean that up. Plus, did you see our offense? There was already enough shit on our field.
Texas beats Oklahoma this year. Heard it here, first.
Well I hope we meet them in the playoffs, that's all I can say.
Playoffs? Playoffs? You wanna talk about Playoffs? Insert Jim Mora gif here.
your delusional if you think this team will even sniff the playoffs.
Eh, they'll probably lose their conference opener to Baylor, then proceed to go 8-4 or 6-6. #2009USC #2014VT
Dude, you and I could roll out there right now and beat Baylor.
Right after beating us, USC went out and lost to a Washington team that finished 5-7.
Seriously, we sang Carmen Ohio, as we do win or loss. This is just disrespect. But then again, he earned it. Suck it up fellas. To the winners go the spoils.
I can tell you first-hand, the defeated home team fan base does not see the Carmen Ohio thing as some precious tradition. It looks and feels like a strange kumbaya-esque celebration (especially to the uninitiated, like last years OU crowd), so it's like "STFU, and GTF0 our field!" That you do it win or lose does not make it any less unwelcome, regardless of intentions. I think y'all should be able to grasp that.
That is so incredibly disrespectful, and yes, I'd feel the same exact way if an Ohio state player did it at an opponent's home field.
Play this video over and over and over in the Woody, let it sink in
Yes - it doesn't matter if we think it's classless or not. Show that video every day before practice.
Corey speaking facts
Bro, you are a fucking loser.
So is Micah Parsons. Ouch.
I'll take Urban's opinion over Micah Parsons' thanks bud.
Bad sportsmanship, but win the game and he doesn't get to do that. Hopefully it lights a fire under this team.
He played a great game. Got carried away at the end but put us in their shoes. We'd be loving it
If i could change my username, i would
Absolutely not. That kind of shit is never acceptable. Ever. Win the game, celebrate with your fans who made the trip, and walk off the field. Win with class, something he and his coach clearly know nothing about.
I agree Bucksfan. I don't think our Buckeyes did that after last year's game. It's quite different singing you school song in end zone of your opponent's stadium and running around and planting a flag on the O.
This was clearly a big escalation, by Mayfield.
Mayfield's a bitch and I want to punch him in the neck.
I was fine with him running around with the flag, but the moment he staked it at midfield, it torqued me off.
Ohio State players sing Carmen Ohio on the field after every game (win or lose, home or road as far as I know). Baker Mayfield got all upset about the OSU players singing last year because he has no idea about anything beyond himself/his team, but that's fine. Planting the flag is more about him, even if it's his team's flag in my opinion. We'll see what happens to him as the season goes on.
Surprised he didn't cramp up.
At least we had cool shoes...
To go with our basic defense :(
That's disrespectful to basic defenses
Man….. this football team.-Jeff Okudah
You know, he played a great game, and this was clearly his entire focus for a year, but he just went and ruined it all with a bush league, no class move. And his rookie HC didn't have the balls to stop him. You can bet if Stoops had still been the coach that would not have happened.
Now I want to face Oklahoma again in the postseason. If that matchup happens, he will take one hell of a beating after that kind of cheap move. I'd tell him to act like he's been there before, but he clearly never has.
Johnny Football 2.0
It's not going to light a fire under anyone on this underperforming team. I don't know what it's going to take - short of cleaning house - but this is a team full of 5-star guys who play like 1-stars on the field. Something has to change.
Loyalty is becoming a problem. No one person is above the brand urban. Time for JT to be sent packing. I'll buy his train ticket
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
This better be running on a loop at the Woody for the rest of the year
How Firm Thy Friendship
I really don't think that would help this team.
It would be like kicking your dog for getting hit by a car. Their confidence has to be way down.
Rebuilding year, ahead.
If you can't handle seeing the disrespect the he threw down on your field then I don't want playing for my team and alma mater. If that doesn't piss you off makes you wanna play the best football of your life for the rest of the year, then I don't want you. They should be embarrased by how they've played for the past year and especially tonight. Sack up and play angry!
It's not going to matter unless Urban makes the change that he HAS to make, and according to his post game presser, he doesn't have the cajones to do it.
Of course things need to change. All I'm saying is that if the players psyche is that fragile from seeing a video to try and motivate them, then why are they even playing for us?
I get what you're saying, Kinnyg. And for the record, I am really disappointed and angry at Baker Mayfield's post game actions and I have expressed that on other 11W threads. It is akin to me literally crapping on Mayfield's grandparents grave. Very disappointing and disrespectful.
Need someone to tell Vrabel that a guy in an Oklahoma uniform is inappropriately on the field.
You're right, my bad...
They can take turns
Spent a long time being positive, but for my own sanity I just fucking can't anymore.
I hate this.
You can write all the scripts for people you want, it doesn't mean they're going to take direction.
Scoreboard (and stat sheet). Take it and move on.
P.S. Mayfield was non-ironically rocking a headband and tried to plant a flag into FieldTurf. Just sayin'...
I don't recall...did OSU plant a flag on the Sooner O after the game? If I recall, they sang the alma mater. Not quite the same.
No they did not. They sang the alma mater with the band and fans in a corner of the stadium and walked off, like they always do.
That's what I thought. How was that akin to "planting the flag" on the 50 yard line in your opposition's home?
Obviously, it's not. It's a clear escalation. It's disrespectful and is poor sportsmanship, IMHO.
Outfuckingstanding... we failed in every single aspect of this game! Sorry, I've been riding he J.T. Bandwagon for four years now but fuck it - I'm done. Urban, you own this now - J.T. can suck it all year long and I no longer care.
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Mayfield doesn't strike me as very bright. In fact, he seems like a total meat head. That was a meat head move tonight. Made himself look like a total dipshit. On the flip side, Meyer deserves it and I'm glad he did it.
Agreed. Mayfield and our coaching staff look like dipshits tonight.
I hope that flag stays put all week time for some gut checks
Very classless it willl come back@ him
JT is playing this year. Get that through your skulls. The problems are deeper than the QB and they ain't changing dramatically with a new QB. Secondly, who cares if Mayfield planted the Sooner flag on our field. They won. We get to own it.
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
I care no way any other team plants a flag in the shoe.
The problems ARE deeper than QB, but you are out of your mind if you don't think a change in QB would help. JTs touch on fade routes, deep routes.. hell.. ROUTES in general, is very very poor, right now.
I don't know what you saw, but I saw us leave many passing yards and at least one TD on the table, as a result of JTs inexplicably (at this stage) poor touch. Even to wide open receivers.
There may be some improvement on the sheer fact that you're putting a newbie in there. But we'll be on these forums week in and week out complaining unless the WRs starting running their own routs better than the opposing DBs (this is fact), or until we freaking establish the run.
We ain't winning jack EVER AGAIN, until we do our offense the way we did with Zeke.
The bottom line. Is JT lacking accuracy at times? Yes. Does he miss some throws? Yes. But those are FAR LESS than all of the missed routs, the non-open receivers, and the lack of prowess with the run.
Urban Meyer should send a thank you note to that fuckwad for providing all the motivation he will ever need for his Football team. Classless, but what do you expect from a jackass that runs from cops and gets tackled.
Round on the ends and "HI" in the middle. O-HI-O.
How much more motivation do they need after the Clemson game?
That was last year's squad. This is the 2017 edition of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Each year has a theme. New coaches, new starters, new faces everywhere. Fresh motivation from fuckwad.
Gotta say that Oklahoma could have won by 40
Sorry - it wasn't Mayfield's revenge... it was absolutely shitty QB
play, fucking hideous offensive game planning, pathetic DB play...well - fuck it - season ending game planning all around. Nicely done all!!!
I have no problem with this. He (and OU) kicked ass; and JT (and OSU) did not.
"Hell, Woody didn't recruit me; he recruited my mother!" -Jack Tatum
Go sing your song bro.. celebrate your win.. don't desecrate our field..
Yeah the guy won and I will give him credit for that but I still can't take him seriously. Not after seeing him scream like a wus after getting wrecked into a wall and his head snapped back courtesy of the Little Rock Police Department, lol.
This putrid offense offends me more than the other team celebrating.
Good. A reminder to one of the worst coached Ohio State teams I've seen in a long time.
Mayfield can suck a big bag of dicks
+1000 UV's if I could.
In the last 3 games we have been shut out by Clemson in the playoff, torched by Richard Lago and had the Oklahoma flag planted in our O at midfield, and no one stopped it. What the hell is going on?
I do not at all have the mind of a bully... in my mind bullies are intolerant of contrary opinion, domineering and rather cowardly.
Urban broke JT forever when he started Jones. He has never been anything close to his first year since. He has got to go, and I mean yesterday. BTW, this is the first time I am on this side of the argument. Also, why in the hell didn't we run the ball, like alot more. They had little success stopping it. Run 7 times, then a pass. rinse, and repeat. All the talent is in Dobbins and Webers legs (in that order). Run Them!!!!!!!!
Nope, Not the Whole Damn State!
Well, I've eaten my share of humble pie. I talked a lot of shit about OU & it's coming back to bite me in the ass.
That said, pride most certainly comes before the fall.
It was a catch.
I wonder if all these Buckeye fans that are OK with Mayfield planting the Sooner flag in the middle of Ohio Stadium would be alright with me taking a duke on their grandparent's grave?
You guys know Clemson actually makes grave stones after big wins? Got one for you guys last year in their weird cemetery.
From a Sooner fan's perspective:
Would have preferred Baker not do that. I can see why the tOSU faithful would be fired up. My bad on that.
Last year you guys sang the fight song (or school song or whatever), Baker took exception to it and was embarrassed by it. Should he have just made a lap, high fixed the OU faithful and headed to the locker room? Yeah that's what I would've personally preferred. But that's just not Baker. Dude wore a "back to back Big 12 champs" shirt the under his jersey whole game against OSU (Okstate).
Ive been told in the forums to shove things in places, et. Al. Fine. You've probably never seen the flag planted before, I get that. It is however a tradition to do it against Texas in the RRS every year. Maybe it felt like a huge win over a rival and that fueled this admittedly classless celebration.
Just some preliminary responses-
"Mayfield is a huge piece of sh*t"
-Yes but he is our huge piece of sh*t who started as a walk-on at Texas Tech to having the best statistical season efficiency wise ever.
"I hope he tears/breaks/dies!"
-Really? Come on Ohio State faithful, you're classier than that right?
Im sure a barrage of "f*ck off" and "go die!" Type responses are coming, but let me ask you one question:
-If you could right now, roster swap a trash talking gun slinging piece of sh*t like Mayfield for a well respected and behaved JT Barrett, would you do it?
Mayfield can still go suck a big bag of dicks :) :) Mwuah!
Yes he can, if that's what he chooses to do. Thought y'all were more open minded about stuff like that in Ohio lol.
Tonight's game was embarrassing, painful and infuriating.
But they earned it. Mayfield is a great player, and they kicked our ass up and down the field all night long.
"Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else." - Judy Garland
Hey, thanks for the post. It wasn't a bad one. I understand there was a lot of garbage talk on fan forums, but hey.. that kinda rhetoric is part&parcel. You know that! It goes both ways, to be sure.
However, I take exception to you equating singing Carmen Ohio to the OSU fans (last year), to a complete douchebag move by Mayfield. Singing to the fans had nothing to do with OU, and is just something the OSU players do to pay respect to the traveling fans, and the school.
Not equating it. I didn't have anything to do with either. Mayfield's a "chip on his shoulder guy", so the OHIO going around the stadium, the basic defense signs, dancing on the sidelines, and singing the song all got to him. Maybe all that stuff was harmless and "classy" but he took it personal, got the win, then went over the top celebrating. It is what it is.
Last year you guys sang the fight song (or school song or whatever), Baker took exception to it and was embarrassed by it
The entire team sings the alma mater after every game...win or lose. I think that Mayfield doesn't understand what they do. They didn't go to midfield and sing. They go to the area with Buckeye fans and sing whether they win or lose. They aren't showing up the other team.
Soonermb, sorry for the moronic statements from some of our fans...really. Grow up dudes, and don't take a loss personally.
You seem like a reasonable fan, and I appreciate the explanation. Singing your school's song and planting a flag are two completely different things. I thought Mayfield had more class than that, but I guess I was wrong.
As to your question: I kept asking myself during the game, "why can't we have a QB like Mayfield that scrambles in and out of the pocket and can still manage to find an open receiver?"
Also Soonermb, I felt bad for your tight end that got injured. I don't even like to see UM players get hurt, believe it or not. I'd rather beat an opposing team's best, but clearly, you didn't need him to beat OSU last night.
Yeah, we will see how long Andrews is out. He disappears sometimes, but it's due to his diabetes being checked every quarter. It was worrisome when he went down with a knew injury. Like "oh crap, well that might be the game" type of worrisome. Luckily we recruited a true frosh built from the same mold (Calcaterra #80) and he got here last spring. He had a drop, but then manned up and had a good catch later.
Mayfield doesn't have more class than that. He's never been the annointed one, high star rating, offers from everywhere, NFL scouts love him type guy. He's always had to overcome people saying he wasn't worth it. But like I said, I'll be damned if he doesn't complete 70% of his passes for 325+ yards every time he goes out on the field. The same stuff that makes people hate him (and I mean like spit on him at Tech and throw batteries at him in West Virginia) type hate is what makes the other guys on the roster rally around him as a leader.
Basically you can be famous or infamous. If you want famous and perfect, USC usually puts out 6' 4'' white quarterbacks who always say and do the right things. I'd rather have Mayfield.
*knee not "knew". Autocorrect strikes again.
And you've got to understand our perspective on acceptable QB behavior. Baker's a sh*t-talker who backs it up on the field and had one little incident running from Fayetville PD. We've actually had a starting QB sell crack cocaine to an under-cover FBI agent. Then we recruited his two sons a generation later LOL.
Baker needs to read up on college football traditions if he was offended by our team singing Carmen Ohio in Norman last year. We also sang it in Beaver Stadium after losing to Penn St last year.
It is however a tradition to do it against Texas in the RRS every year. Maybe it felt like a huge win over a rival and that fueled this admittedly classless celebration.
There are 2 significant differences here:
I still love Mayfield and wouldn't trade him for anyone, but that doesn't mean he can do no wrong.
Yeah, I grew up in Ohio but I've been in AZ for about 15 years now. We are not very open minded out here, lol :)
Anyone else find it funny that the flag fell over? Sooner fans were very classless tonight, but I'll explain more about that later.
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
I suppose "yeah, but that's Ohio's moon" doesn't help today.
"You cannot overestimate the unimportance of almost everything." - John Maxwell
386 passing yards with 3 TDs on the road against the so-called #2 team in the country. I'm not too concerned about some stupid flag.
So he did this apparently in retaliation for us singing Carmen Ohio on their field after we won last year. Someone should tell Baker that we do that when we lose in other people's stadiums, too -- kid should educate himself on college football traditions.
This isn't the first time Oklahoma has done something like this, they knew what they were doing. Police had to separate Oklahoma and Wesr Virginia last year after dancing on the WV logo pregame
"Championship teams make Championship plays"
I created an account just to comment on Mayfield. Many of you probably couldn't care less on a Sooner's perspective here, but the situation bothered me so I felt compelled.
The plant and celebrating on tOSU's colors was disrespectful and a failure in class sportsmanship. I love OU as much as any of you love the Buckeyes, and Mayfield's fiery brash confidence has been spectacular, but there's no question he walks the line between aggressive confidence and excessive cockiness. Usually he stays on the right side of that line, and to me he was still there running the perimeter of the field with the flag. But I felt it as soon as he turned toward mid-field. My first thought was how pissed off I was going to be the first time a visiting team plants their flag in the interlocking OU, and we won't have a leg to stand on in anger or outrage. The door's been opened now, and it never should have been.
I consider there to be 5 Crown Jewels of college football, and tOSU and OU are 2 of them. Being part of that elite group should carry some degree of mutual respect. I don't think this series has lived up to that standard.
