Weber/Dobbins is legit

Fire Zach Smith.
Fire Greg Studrawa.
Woody is my idol.
"Year for what?"
I hate the offseason.
We have thrown two wheel routes. We can win by 1pt and I'll be happy.
New Year. New coaches. Same problems.
Why can't we have IU's offense?
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
Yep, different year same sh*t.
First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.
There's a reason Saban cries about the hurry up offense lol......we're getting schooled
I still can't decide if they are having trouble adjusting to IU dropping 8 into coverage (similar to our struggles against the Bear defense against the Hokies in '14) or if Zach Smith flat out does not know how to coach his receivers...
"Aaannnnd heeee's got an opening! Elliott! Off to the races can they catch him?! ... No they can't - touchdown! Eighty. Five. Yards!"
Give him the lane kiffin treatment.
Maybe both, probably both
How anyone can be impressed with our wide receiver development the last couple years is beyond me. I can see us missing on a couple guys but all of them?
I thought Johnnie Dixon was supposed to be good again
Exactly! He finally buys in and......
Our play calling is way slow.
Let's go Bucks!
m GO BLOW!!!
Let's face the facts Gentlemen:
The problem is JT Barrett - case closed. conversation terminated.
2014 doesn't happen without Cardale at QB.
Do you actually watch the Buckeyes? Or just throw hollow accusations out there when we are losing?
Ohio State's not gonna lose this game, because the D Line is too good.
I don't think anything at all like this offense has a prayer against Oklahoma. This is a receiver problem, yes. But... like the other dude said. Ohio State's offense of the last three games of 2014 was of a different class and order than the rest of the season.
I don't doubt whatsoever that a quarterback who can chuck the ball 60 yards from his knees boosts your vertical game. But 2014 you're talking about Devin Smith and Jalin Marshal who are elite deep threats. We don't have wide receivers separation themselves. IU is staying competing by throwing 1 second comeback routes or sideline stabs over and over again - against an "immature" secondary.
IMHO, JTBarret is everything we need to win a championship, but he needs help, just as there was help for CJones in 2014.
Well, that third quarter makes me feel better about Oklahoma, certainly.
He's made some good throws. All of them in the 10-15 yard region, but good. First half was 2015-16 Barrett. Second half showed glimpses of 2014 Barrett.
(But 2014 Cardale actually *got it out of* Smith and Marshall, and we're as *fast* at WR now as 2014)
With such a threat from Dobbins (man oh man I love this kid) the receivers had a lot more room to find their holes in the 3rd. But I agree wholeheartedly that when your QB can chuck the ball the receivers have one duty - run past the safeties lol lets be honest, Cardale wasn't dropping dime after dime. Some of those deeps balls were a mile high and we would go up and grab it. Not taking anything away from Cardale because he brought me some of the best moments of my short lived life.
*Broken record tuning up* we need separation from receivers, and trust that JT can make the deep throw if need be. Right now, I feel his trust is capped at 40 yards. But then again PC1 dropped an absolute dime from... 50ish yards?
Anyway, GO BUCKS! This is the speed I'm looking for. Huge praise to our d line for RELENTLESSLY pursuing this IU offense (with extremely high tempo) down after down. Let's just hope this is the usual "slow start" for the Buckeyes in their first game of the season.
Oh, yeah, Cardale was way more INT-prone than Barrett ever was. A lot of his big plays could've gone either way. And many did!
But Deshaun Watson was instrumental in convincing me that INTs aren't the worst thing in the world. I've seen those stats - that a QB's INT prevention has almost no impact on team win rate - and it just didn't make any sense to me, unless the act of throwing deep 50/50 balls was itself valuable.
The Campbell pass was good. Things are better for the offebse than at any point last year! Still concerned about the passing game!

Barrett is a real problem right now. I mean we are blaming the receivers for not getting open but Lagow isn't letting our solid coverage on his receivers stop him from letting his guys make plays.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Good call. Right before Campbell drops two straight passes. Was probably Barrett's fault on the throw to Dixon in the first half too- shouldn't hit those guys in the hands like that!
Feed him in the second half.
It's almost as if the 40 year old in the press box doesn't score any touchdowns.
It's almost as if all the same players who got shut out against Clemson didn't magically transform into the best offense in the world.
Fire Zack Smith.....
Urban better look in the mirror and be honest. No championship with Barrett
a b s o l u t e l y p a t h e t i c .
Gonna have to run Dobbins more to open up the pass
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Seattle Sounders 2019 MLS Champions
Garble garble garble garble
D-line looks pretty good actually - Lagow is getting it out immediately and put a bunch in perfect position but at least we're getting pressure and stopping the run.
When your receivers are wide open you don't have to hang on to the ball very long
He will break a 50 plus yard run for a TD in the 2nd half. You can see it coming. Just have to feed him and the OL needs to do a little better, and he can take this game over for us.
The QB just needs to lick his fingers more between plays. Love JT's ethic, but it's not rocket science. Just snap the ball and run it!
this team needs a spark...or a kick in the ass...
i report you decide...
Without God, there is no Liberty...
Dobbins is a stud.
Ward is looking decent*, the d-line is really good, JK looks like Doug Martin out there, and Lagow is so much better than Barrett it's shameful.
*Kind of a baptism by fire throwing the DBs out there against Cobbs and Hale. Def need more safety help.
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster...
I'm not usually "that guy" but:
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
If Dobbins keeps playing like this I don't think Weber gets another start. Sorry not sorry, haven't been a fan of Webers
Successful people do what they have to, whether they feel like it or not
3rd freshman in Ohio state history to run for 1,000 yards. 6 yards a carry. Freshman all American and 2nd team all big ten. Yeah there's not much to be a fan of there....
Last year he was very immature, sticking his fingers in other players faces. And the fumbling, oh the fumbling that cost us 2 possible scoring drives vs Clemson that could have changed the whole dynamic of that game. Compare that to Zeke who never fumbled against Alabama, Or Maurice Clarett who never fumbled against Miami, and neither of whom stuck their fingers in another players facemask. He lost his job yesterday, and Ohio State got better for it
Actually, Zeke did fumble vs Alabama.
And you're basing his entire body of work on two or three seconds of poor judgment following a random play?
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
1 incident does not make someone "very immature." I'm just not ready to throw away a 1,000 yard rusher, even with the way Dobbins looked last night and frankly I'm not sure why so many people are. I definitely believe in Dobbins and I think last night showed he can definitely be the man when needed, but you just can't throw away a player of Mike Weber's caliber. Looking forward to seeing that 1-2 punch the rest of the year. Go bucks!
Paris Campbell's a joke
You win with people - W.W. Hayes
Joke is on the fan base, when it comes to Parris. Just the latest Meyer pet project!
Parris Campbell finally had some sprinters speed for 6
Defense: 3 new starters who have gotten thrown against like 60 times and are guarding some good WRs. DL and Linebackers have been insane.
Offense: Maybe not as much downfield throwing as we expected but are showing signs of stretching the field and Dobbins/Weber can be lethal. OSU also has a lot of speed.
Good win for the Buckeyes. Indiana came out with a fast-paced offense that we weren't expecting. Good adjustments at halftime. Offense woke up in the second half also. Good win with a Big Ten opener and on the road. What's good about being 1 - 0 is going 2 - 0. Go Bucks!
Jk Dobbins is the truth!
Does Weber transfer to Michigan?
Why can't there be 2 good running backs? Pittman and Wells did it a few years ago.
With all due respect to OSU receivers, maybe play Dobbins and Weber at same time.
That's true for players, but also true for the offense itself. Very few comments here about IU's use of tempo. They were snapping the ball 11-15 seconds after the previous play. They ran a crapload of plays at our D, which is one reason there was a lot melting down comments - some from me - during the live threads. (I thought I heard Urban say post-game there were 195 total plays? Is that right?) We WERE being outplayed in the first half. The O couldn't execute, which kept the D out there, and IU's snap tempo WAS killing them. Half way through Q2, they were described as "gassed".
Thank God for the halftime adjustments.
Also, a big THANK YOU to whomever it was recommended I get a VPN. The idiot Canadians blocked tonight's game, but I was able to see the whole thing. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the Buckeye fan who recommended that.
On to the next one!
"Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else." - Judy Garland
I don't understand why some are not high on Webber, he did rush for just over a thousand yards last year in his first year.
This kid is going to be special, same feelings I had when zeke was starting out on special teams and spelling for Hyde
