I think Jim Delaney is planning to hire three referees from Ann Arbor to even the playing field since he hired two Columbus refs and one Athens ref for last year's game!

Can't get enough of Crazy Jim's antics - ask wolverine nation who is the best coach in the B1G and they will tell you it's their man.

He's got a lot to prove considering he is the savior of the hot mess up north.

The off season bites !!

It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

It's funny, I call him Savior Jimmy because everyone knows there is no plan B  if he doesn't return UM to glory.

What they don't want to hear up there is that their man has something like 69 D-1 wins, hasn't won a title of any kind anywhere, and when UM used to be able to establish an advantage just by being a national brand, those days are long gone with teams like Boise State on t.v. every single week.  It isn't that Michigan isn't an elite brand, it is, but when you couple this with the fact OSU has more in state talent and a HC with a better championship resume, they are still at a disadvantage against the local team.  The football sociologist wants desperately to see how they react if Meyer goes into AA and beats Savior Jimmy and his boys for a third straight year (and since we have the more seasoned team, we will be favored to do just that).

You are entitled to you own opinion, not your own facts.

Their time to beat us was last year - they out played us most of the game however the most important one went our way (Thank you Curtis) I love our team and our chances this season.

You are right! Michigan was the better team last year! Every year is different!

I have a feeling that TTUN just hired their insane version of John Cooper.

HS

Ok, let me get this correct. Harbaugh arrives, and the team loses their last three games? Including their bowl game?

Coach let me introduce you to John Harold Cooper!

Repeat after me "2-10-1". I realize there are no ties so I am aiming for 2-11. If Harbaugh can last that long without napalming some bridges as he's prone to do.....

Well, Columbus wasn't looking for America, my man, but that turned out to be pretty okay for everyone.

He is gone shortly after going 0-3 against UFM. How crazy and desperate will the delusional fan base be once Crazy Jim fails to bring the program back to prominence? Can't wait for the drama to unfold!

I'm sorry I'm not sorry!

2-10-1, I am glad you are a good student of history! Does 58-48-6 ring a bell?

TTUN will be chasing Ohio State for years to come. Get used to it Jimmy.

How can they win without Peppers this year? Who will play the LB/Safety/CB combo position (poorly)?

I'm sorry I'm not sorry!

Well, at least now we all know why he is always such a grumpy mouth-breather on the sideline during games ;-)

I tried to read Harbaugh's comments from an unbiased  perspective (impossible); it seems he is finally owning the loss against Ohio State, which I found refreshing.

HS

Personally I think the rivalry is dead. I highlight the PSU or MSU game more than TUN. We have owned them for a long time and with the talent Urban has recruiting the train just keeps rolling!!!!

Michigan on the road does not scare me as much as PSU-MSU or Wiskie.

HS
Hovenaut's picture

Understand your point (as I'm more concerned about Penn State right now), but the rivalry is not dead.

Not as long as they have a series lead. Not as long as the 90's are remembered, or 1969, or 1950, etc.

I remember reading, this was back in the 90's, that some of their players didn't think it was a rivalry anymore - this was well into their win streak.

It just struck me odd, at how they could dismiss the history between the schools like that - but fail to realize how painful it would be if they were on the short end of things.

Never take this era for granted, ever.

Just watched that clip--traveling wherever overseas with him?  zzz.

He has changed his glasses, I think.

MAYBE the loss to OSU will motivate them? Dude, if that's a question, your culture up there is already gone.

HS
GlassCityBuckeyes's picture

When the vest cut the pipeline of in-state talent going north that was the end. And he's not changing that.

HS

That pass play was what he would change? I would have thought holding onto the clipboard would have been a better choice.

I totally agree with you here. That was where the game changed in my opinion. It was all down hill for them after that. I thought thats where they lost focus.

HS
Breakawayspeed's picture

One of the big differences between the two schools of late has been how each team reacts to calls of decisions that that don't go their way.  Michigan's coaches ( Hairball, Lloyd Carr and to a lesser extent... Hoke) don't seem to be able to accept calls that don't go their way!  It becomes a distraction that often creates lack of focus ( not to mention, penalties ).  Emotion trumps reason with them! Not good for a winning formula. Their lack of control influences their players too.

The Vest and Urban seem to be able to move past any anger and control their emotions.  They get their teams to knuckle-down and focus on the next play and or what needs to happen next.

I m not saying they don't get angry!  They just try to control what they can and realize that they can not control the rulings on the field.
