Can you imagine if they had Deshaun Thomas?
Or Russell, Turner, Conley, etc.
True. But Thomas is much more realistic option due to the fact that he is playing in Europe like many of the players on S & G. There is no incentive for NBA players to play except playing with their old friends.
no one else would get to shoot if he was on this team ;)
I know very little about this. But the S&G Team sounds pretty loaded for this type of competition. Is there any legit competition? Because I suspect the alumni of Bradley University (which I couldn't even find on a map) won't provide much.
Years ago (early, mid 50's I think) they were a real good basketball program. National recognition, big competitor to UD back in the Tom Blackburn years. No so much in recent history though.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
A team called Overseas Elite has won this tournament in the first two years of it's existence. It is a #1 seed this year and is the favorite to win.
Scarlet and Gray has a damn good alumni team and is a 2 seed. But there are plenty of other good alumni teams. If they beat this Bradley team (which has a former lottery pick in Patrick O'Bryant), they play the winner of alumni teams from Marquette and Kansas State. There are other alumni teams alive including ones from Indiana, Gonzaga, and Syracuse.
I play, coach stays. He goes, I go.
Did they maybe do the seedings before the final rosters were confirmed? There's no way this team is actually a 2 seed. Their starting five is the same starting lineup from one of the best college basketball teams of the last couple decades that went 34-3. I mean it's even the same 7 guys that were in that 2011 team rotation. Just a freshman Deshaun Thomas is missing who that year was only a smaller contributor. This is a huge chemistry advantage. I'm there are a few other teams that have some talented alumni, but did they all play together at the same time? I doubt it.
Lots of firepower in that lineup
The off season bites !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
Seattle Sounders 2019 MLS Champions
Assuming that Evan Turner and Conley can't play... otherwise that would've been a stacked team.
I do not think there is rule about current nba players eligibility. However there could be clause in their respective contracts not allowing them to play. Or they might just be smart and avoiding injury. Whats 2$ million dollars split among a team to a guy like Conley?
They have a better than average chance to win that cool 2 million. I'll be tuning in tomorrow to watch it on ESPN.
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
I am truly overjoyed to have the chance to watch this team, it was a pleasure and will be so again on Saturday!
I would rather be on hand with 10 men then elsewhere with 10,000 - Timur Lenk
I am excited to watch the game today. That group of Deibler / Lighty / Buford / Craft / Sullinger was one of my favorite Buckeye teams. Good Luck today fellas.!
Good luck gentleman. Less than 1 comment per hour = little interest. Take a hint.
That is exactly what Sully is gonna have to do in order to make an NBA team, hit the outside shot. Jon can still shoot, Aaron does all the scrappy things he's allways done, looking good so far.
What's the score?
Is there a game thread?
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
It's Upper Sandusky Fran! We're not Cedar point, we do though have a slide at Harrison Smith Park. I can't tell you how many people have asked me where the roller coasters are though, no shit.
