I guess if the shoe fits, play that position. Anything for the team.
Either he's needed at safety, or the coaches at the other two positions didn't want him.
"You're welcome for the house I built."
Not even possible. There are opportunities available at Safety, that's why he's switching.

I'm old enough to remember his father William White play defensive back for the Buckeyes. If he is anything like his father he will have quite the legacy. This is exciting news!
"The future is bright at Ohio State."
"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends"
Me too. His Dad was one of my favorites Buckeyes in the mid 80's. Great player and a captain with Spielman for Bruce's last season. Hopefully he sticks here. Pun intended. Go Bucks!
His father was great for the Detroit Lions, too. William was not as tall as Brenden, but I remember him breaking tight ends in two. Hart hitter!
One of Lima, Ohio's finest. Played in the 98 super bowl with the falcons, I'm pretty sure.
Make preparations in advance. You never have trouble if you are prepared for it.
He was just practicing at WR so he's prepared for his #Pick6 when we play Penn State.
I'm guessing safety depth isn't where the staff wants it.
Or the WR room is crowded now. I have a feeling this good news regarding EGW or Gardiner.
Excited for Mr. Whites potential either way
And some freshmen are as good as advertised maybe?
or maybe he's gonna play the Chris Gamble position(s).
I say let him play all over the field. Worked for Gamble. Can he punt or place-kick?
I used to think UFM stood for Urban F*cking Meyer
Will he throw?
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
Helmet stickers for this guy for mentioning Gamble, and not Peppers, a player only the Browns would draft.
Ooops Genius, I guess I didn't read far enough. Great minds and whatever....
Maybe he can show Gerbil Peppers how you really play multiple positions. Play them all Brendon.
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
The WR stint never felt like a true fit. Strikes me as a the kind of defender who can stay on the field in a variety of situations. My only fear is when he excels, the dreaded "Jabrill Peppers type" description will rear its ugly head.
* Beat me to it!
6' 2" 210 lbs safety with wheels gets me giddy.
I had a chance to talk with Brandon at last years FNL and he's every bit of 6'2".
Whenever, wherever (what up, Shakira) he finds the field I think we'll be happy.
And that's the deal my dear (sorry, had to finish).
I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home low...

"Ohio fullbacks should stay in Ohio and play at Ohio State." - Earle Bruce
I think Brendon will be a mighty fine Safety. I hope this doesn't have any impact on Woodbey's or Proctor's committments.
Fields of Dreams
Maybe this is just me being really optimistic, but he was sent to the WR room because it was the worst unit on the team and they needed all the help they could get. The fact that he's no longer needed could mean that there are signs of life?
I'm hoping this doesn't mean there was an injury at safety that we just haven't heard about yet.
I'm likely to be down voted for this, don't care.
Here's hoping that we'll see a MUCH improved PASSER at QB this Season.
Yap away about lack of separation, the ability to EFFECTIVELY throw the ball has AS MUCH to do with the passing game, then anything else. Of course that doesn't meet the narrative so it can't be true.
As Meyer himself says, qb is a product of those around him. Jt wasn't sharp at times last year but usually it coincided with the opposing team getting pressure home and WR not being able to separate, ie-penn state, msu, scum, Clemson.
Football is the ultimate team game and despite qb getting undeserving added praise for wins and undeserving added blame for losses, it takes everyone doing their jobs to be successful. JT isn't perfect but I'm appreciating what he's done and how good he is while he's here because it could certainly be much, much worse.
Yawn TIMES two; Touche'
Meyer says a lot of things! Didn't say I didn't appreciate JT or what he's done or his awards (lest, those come into the convo).
Never said it didn't take a team, I'm in the camp that he was equally culpable in more games then a few, INCLUDING the ones you mentioned about the WRs, or the OL or any other explanation (other then JT, that was often given).
One thing for sure, for those hankering for the true blue blooded natural receivers going forward, there's those equally looking forward to a true passing QB.
In the interim, we'll support whose out there! Go Bucks!
3 time captain. Top 5 heisman. First team Big Ten qb.
But yep, let's hurry him along so we can get to a qb who's actually good.
How many of Meyer's qbs have been truly great passers? You know what they've all been instead? WINNERS. I'll take a qb who does what it takes to win over being great at one particular skill at this level.
Maybe the next one will be equally good at winning AND being a great passer but just like Hyde before Zeke and Weber after, it shouldnt diminish how good he's been/is for Ohio State.
I mean the post just isn't very relevant to the conversation. If you try and say this is a story about a guy who was a WR it sort of fits better, but you took the opportunity when the story was about a WR converting to another position to take a shot at Barrett
Wasn't trying to take a shot at Barrett; folks can have differing opinions and I know what the story was about. My comment was no more out of place then those commenting about converted WRs. The story was about Brendon's move.
Hey, it is okay to say that the passing woes were NOT limited to WR separation despite the season long narrative and it's constant regurgitation. One thing for sure, we shall see come Fall!
So you're saying we did have a deep threat and Barrett just couldn't throw it to them like he could in 2014? No.....I think they never replaced Smith or Thomas with guys who were as good, hopefully that changes this year
It also seems like you're really going out of your way to tell us all how much you dislike JT, you're kind of a tool to be honest
^ best post ever ^
Nailed it. It's one thing to say it once. It's another to say it multiple times in multiple threads about WRs.
Buckroo times 2, why ask to be down-voted 2 times? Are you SM and like pain?

Not at all SilverHaven; Lol! I wear glasses, just not scarlet and gray ones. I imagined you've noticed, there's some subjects around here, where if you're not walking lock step with the masses OR the written narrative, it's like you have to "issue a disclaimer" before stating your point, lest you be consider a hater. Not that I really care, this is an opinion board; Lol!
you remind me of spam
Buck a roo's next post; I made $150,000 dollars from home. click on the link below to find out how
Hot dang, where's that link?
Here's the thing about Spam, folks will respond to it even when they know or should know better. So since you busted me Chirobuck, I'll hit the kill switch. Lol!
Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.
JUST WANT TO see him contribute. I LIKE big, fast safeties.
GREAT comment. ME, too.

You "Peg"ged that.
He will be a large safety. But, this young man seems capable of playing many different positions. Looking forward to seeing him on the field.
Who does he think he is, Sam Hubbard? /s
Seriously tho, with his athleticism, he could probably play any skill position. Just need to find out what he's at his best, and where the team needs him the most. He should have an interesting career.

The Sam Hubbard parallels are pretty obvious.
Great minds think alike, Brutus! Upvote!
Trust me! I'm an Engineer.
Brendon White meet Sam Hubbard. He has something important to tell you.

Curious, but other then OL, college doesn't have the same restrictions on #s that the NFL does...could he wear 80 at safety? Would be pretty cool to see. Definitely out of the ordinary.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
next thing you know a quarterback will wear #98. Gross!
I'm just praying to Gaia Eric wins the starting SS position along side Jordan at FS cause I don't ever see Webbs' instincts improving enough to keep his job. I honestly cannot see where White fits best with such versatility. Is Zach himself able to run effective routes when teaching technique? Not so sure. Outstanding recruiter is Mr. Smith.
" It's real good whatcha done Anthony, real good ! "
I'm just praying to Gaia Eric
What an athlete! After adding muscle weight along with his speed and athleticism White should instill fear in the opposition.
I think that would be cool... #80 at safety...
Priority #1: Beat Michigan
I have no problem with staff trying him out at different positions. Only by time and trying him out can they see in detail how he deals with all the infinite aspects of each position. As you start checking off the list of what he can and can't do, you begin to see where you best can use his talents.
This staff has recently shown an excellent ability to put players in positions in order to excel. I can't believe this isn't the same thing.
who's Jabarious Peppercorn??
I would be frustrated if in that situation. You have so much potential - we will play you everywhere. Everywhere = Nowhere. Make the move and maximize the opportunity. If anyone hurts an ankle, watch out. Become a great safety and stay put.
My gut reaction too, but spring/summer is where you figure all this out. Now he can go into fall camp focused on one position
A man got to have a code...
There's room anywhere for an athlete who can do it all.
This kid could really do some physical damage at the safety position, enter Mike Doss...
Drive it like you stole it.....
It was inevitable that William White's son would eventually wind up at safety.
