This kid sounds like a humble grinder with a great head on his shoulders.  Cant wait to see him in Scarlet & Gray!!

They hate us cuz they aint us!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Something about "humble grinder" made me chuckle. lol

I personally don’t believe in pulling a kids offer due to injuries and I believe Meyer would never do that either.

Go Bucks

Nice pickup, but the scholarship numbers are getting tight

we are at 91 for next year if you take out the seniors + sam hubbard

would need 6 more to go to get to 85

HS
BIGTIMEBUCKS's picture

Does that 91 factor in the Kierre Hawkins transfer?

As a previous UM lean - this kid is a freak of nature. We just got a lot better.

Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!

It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

"A lot better" ... might be over-stating it. Still need an offense that will throw the ball to him.

Perspective in a sea of "a lots" and "overs":  some things we cannot control, some things we can influence, some things we can control.

And it is amusing as we call for 'change'... that is ever, already... occurring; but, not at all "happening"   ;-{)}

A call to Columbus...

You've come a long way, young Mr. Babb.

Looking forward to seeing him on the field! Hopefully we let Dwayne/Joey get the passing game going at full efficiency...should be some fun years to come!

Suh ... Weet. With Haskins at QB and Kevin Wilson (Hopefully!) calling plays, the WR position could again become a dangerous weapon for the Bucks. And Kamryn Babb ... is dangerous.

He seems like a great kid. Now that he's a buckeye he is even better

great hands and a 23 feet long jump is some serious hops...we have our 50/50ball winner!

Wasn't Devin Smith a big time long jumper also, able to high point a pass ;)

Jim Bell

As alluded, I believe he was a high jumper.

HS

That's what jumped off the screen when I watched highlights.  Quick, explosive cuts, and going up and getting those 50-50 balls.  It seemed like their QB would just casually lob the ball into Babb's general area, sometimes when he was being double covered, and Babb would adjust to the ball, jump over the D, and go get it.  Reminds me a bit of Michael Thomas, but maybe even a little more speed and jumping ability.  Not saying he's better than Mike Thomas, just that maybe his raw ability might have higher upside.

Now that is an amazing statistic - showing how far ahead of other Big Ten teams Ohio State is, but also how far other Big Ten teams need to go in landing top prospects.

Glad from a talent standpoint but consecutive season ending injuries makes me paranoid. Perhaps our medical team will keep him well healthy and strong.
Best wishes young man.

HS

They managed to get JT from morgue to midfield in 6 days and Dixon from testing crutches to testing the NFL waters so I have faith in our medical team

HS

BOOM!  Though expected, the news is certainly good.  Go Bucks!

HS

Take it for what it is worth but my Uber driver said he is friends with Grimes.  I asked him if he was coming back to OSU and he said absolutely.  He is 100% still with the Buckeyes so that is good news, if the source is legit.  He was pretty knowledgeable about the situation so I was 90+% that he was being honest.  Double BOOM tonight.  Love it!

HS

"Are you an expert? No, but I had a great conversation with an Uber driver last night."

HS

Did he stay at Holiday Inn last night though...

HS

At the same time, if it's a situation anything like Mike Mitchell's, I wouldn't blame Grimes for transferring, and would hope he can make the NFL wherever he goes, same as Kierre Hawkins.

HS

Great addition to the team. And he's focused on academics. Can't do better. The athletic staff will have him up and running in no time.

It sounds like we are getting another quality young man. This is difference between Ohio State and other major programs. We continue to recruit young men who are as talented as they areupstanding citizens. That’s the Urban Meyer difference

Scrolling through the 247Sports Composite rankings, I counted 11 Buckeyes before I ever got to a TTUN commit.  Babb would be the crown jewel of their class by a lot at this point.  Shea or no Shea, the talent gap is getting wider between the Bucks and their rival.

Long live Urban Meyer

You've got barbecue back there?

HS

In general, IMO, receiver versatility and skills proficiency trump raw speed alone.

But...

I would look for a world-class burner every other class....

Or, as our younger folks say... "An HOF only comes alone once in several years... like Orlando Pact... but...

but...

but...

let's make a 'once', this year, be cause we will not 'let ourselves go for 2'....    ;-{)}

...until next year....

Good route runner, catches everything in his radius. “Instant #1 Buckeye receiver”.  And we will upgrade the throwing at QB next year with any of the 3 top candidates currently in S&G.  I’m so looking forward to a dependable receiver who wins 75% of the 50-50 balls and rarely drops a pass. AND a QB who will put receivers in positions to make plays, more than waiting for a receiver to get open and then throw to him. (I know that’s a bit over simplified and I love JT for all he’s meant to this program)
