What is the second pick if OSU-UM is off the board? B1G title game? OSU-PSU? Rutgers-Purdue?
I think Minn and Wisc are playing for a bucket or something that week.

15-1 is SWEET!
The BTCG has been on a fox for a few years now. Gotta believe that's a given that fox has.
What else could be 2nd other than osu-psu? Wisc-neb? Msu-mich? Mich-psu? I don't see any other game higher, even bias aside.
OSU v Oklahoma?
The Fox promo that I saw indicated PSU/OSU was also on Fox, thus assuming the Fox first, abc second, Fox third...set-up, OSU/PSU was third choice at best.
True, honestly didn't even consider OOC games. That's top 3 for sure I bet.
I would think it would be OSU-PSU, and that one is on FOX as well I believe. Maybe ESPN took UM-PSU? I don't know. I looked at the lineup the other day and it looks like FOX came away with all the good ones.
Is the picking done over the whole year or week to week? My interpretation was, for example, that Fox would choose the OSU-UM game the last week of the regular season and ESecPN would have the second pick of those BIG games played on the same weekend.
That's my perception as well. It is week-to-week FOX gets to choose #1. Translation - lots of Buckeye games on FOX.
In regards to Friday night football, it amazes me how out of touch people can be. I'm surprised that Delaney is surprised. But hey, I didn't cash a $20MM check last week, so what do I know.
"separates a Marionaire from a Cincinnatian."
I'm not taking the bait, Byrnes.
You can't fix stupid, not even with $20MM.

Isn't this the same guy that came up with the "Leaders & Legends" divisional names(and then it took him how many years to realize it was a bad idea?)? Maybe it wasn't his idea, but he's the dude in charge and had to give it the thumbs up.
And some are surprised he's so out of touch?
I see this kind of clueless decision making in the corporate world every single day from upper management and their shocked look when people/workers object to it.

actually, it did not take them very long to realize that L&L sucked. Although it was nice that OSU got crowned that year as the first champs of the Legends division, right?

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Get well soon Mrs.Naut 6-0 > 3-6.
Well, show me another Buckeyes QB who never lost a start, engineered a nearly flawless evisceration of the West champ, beat Bama in their backyard, won a national title, and put up 93 points against some kid in a hospital.

It always amazes me how someone can can rise to a position where your value is in the tens of millions of dollars, and yet be so ignorant as to who your customer base is. I mean, what went in to making the decision to move games to friday nights? Did they not do any surveys, or focus groups or anything?
Haven't really paid attention to high school football games since, well ... since I was in high school. But you don't need to be an expert in or even a casual fan of high school sports to know this was an incredibly bad idea.
I go to a couple games a year so I don't go very often. But for a good portion of Ohio, and most of where I live in west Michigan, high school football is just what people do on friday nights. Furthermore, I watch football all day saturday and all day sunday. My wife complains enough as it is so fridays are usually date nights for me. And I don't believe I'm the only one who does that.
DeVier Posey I always felt was underrated. Loved watching him play at OSU, and if he can flourish in Canada then more power to him.
Out here in Chicagoland high school football on Fridays is probably more important than college on Saturdays. With the B1G offices in Chicago, someone should have probably figured that out. And while college Saturdays are huge in many places, Fridays have always been for the preps so to think otherwise is inane.
As for Baylor, that school and PSU can both just go away as far as I am concerned. Atrocities plural at both places, with nobody that seems to want to take the blame or do anything about it. Sad and atrocious.
"They say, "these geeks come a dime a dozen. I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes." -Classy Freddie Blassie
My wife was born in Georgetown Guyana and her family left for Canada just as that Hoosier nut-job was mixing the Koolaid...between reading that story and more sick fiends at Baylor, I'm glad DJ gave us the heads up about breakfast.
Indeed about eating.
I read the Jonestown story as well, but it brought back too many memories to comment on. I was very young when it happened, but even then I could tell this was obviously bad. Now reading about the horrors again after such a long time it still seems like there was no way it could have happened.
Which then made me think about how people for decades now have used the phrase "drinking the kool-aid" for buying into something, and how utterly detestable the whole concept is since this occurrence is what spawned the phrase.
Wow, OH-10, that's a heck of a connection. Canada would have to be like heaven compared to the hell that is Guyana.
Hey Baylor, these lawsuits suck. But don't worry, I got you a good luck present.
On behalf of college football fans everywhere, go away. Please. Seriously, screw you.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." - Abraham Lincoln
Football Friday Night, Football Friday Night.
What do you think about? It's sure not college football.
And somebody should tell the Boston Celtics they already lost to Labron Jim and the Cavs. Checkmate, Boston. Nobody cares anymore.
My favorite Cav moment from the Richfield Colesium was "Larry's last game". It was a mad house.
Of course, this won't stop all Friday night games because the person paying the bills always makes the rules in the #business world.
Well. broadcast Canton McKinley and Massilon Washington when they line up and see who draws more. I can tell you.
I usually enjoy your WMD's..but I wish I had not read the Jonestown story
With Fox broadcasting the game does that mean no replays on BTN ?
Fox owns 49% of BTN so I'm sure we will still get replays.
"but being able to move past high school feuds after the age of 30 separates a Marionaire from a Cincinnatian"
Never been a fan of the NCAA's 'Death Penalty', but if there was ever a program deserving of it, it's Baylor. They absolutely should not be allowed to play organized football ever again.

Agreed 100% - this video made me sick
You want to make a point - Great
This was the way not to do it.
Yeah, SL, that's always kinda weirded me out. I don't think I'm sexist (seriously), but coming from a woman's mouth, well it's just weird. And her staunch defense of the school is horrendous!

I feel the same way. The problem at Baylor is not only the heinous actions of the players but he complicity of everyone involved at the school. The only way to fix this is to burn the whole thing down and start again.
Let's face it, the NFL (No Fun League) doesn't deserve someone with Cardale's magnificent personality. Whatever trajectory his career there takes, I just hope he keeps his outlook on life and playful personality intact as he goes along for the ride.
I know everybody wants to be the best at their craft, but I'm sure Cardale has considered that for however long, he's making a lot more money than me :). Real Life Wednesdays take on a whole new importance when you're 3rd string on the Bills; it's much more than just a recruiting "tool". I hope he's working hard in the League and can elevate his game to the best of his abilities! I'm thinking he is and he's loving every minute. Good for him!
FOX paid a lot of money to broadcast a beat down by undefeated Ohio State distributed to 3 or 4 loss scUM.
Go Bucks and michigan STILL SUCKS!
I lived through the 90's. Let's keep a lid on that sort of chatter. Historical precedence and all.
but being able to move past high school feuds after the age of 30 separates a Marionaire from a Cincinnatian.
I am from Cincinnati and choked on my coffee laughing. I take this as a fairly accurate generalization of Cincy - I can only assume DJ is correct in his positive generalization of those who are of the Marionaire gene pool.
You don't know what you have until it's gone .... for example, toilet paper.
Woke up this morning to the news that Chris Cornell had died. All my musical heroes are dying off. I feel old, and extremely sad.
I want no part of the Bad Juju that is Waco. You couldn't pay me to travel to that town based on the FBI raid fiasco alone. People also forget that a Baylor Men's Hoops player murdered a teammate and the HC tried to cover it up. If I had a daughter I'd move to the North Pole before I let her attend Baylor.
My mother told me about Jonestown when I was young and I didn't believe it. An actual U.S. Senator went down there to assess the situation and Jones' men gunned him and his SS staff down at the airport. There is an audio video on YouTube where you can hear Jones encouraging his followers to drink the cyanide drink and you can hear them moaning in agony dying. Just complete and total madness that I still cannot wrap my head around.
Still holding out hope Cardale and Tyvis Powell end up playing on the same NFL team. That will be gold.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
Not even the Waco based Fixer Upper couple, Chip & JoJo, could "fix up" Baylor at this point. Not enough shiplap siding in Texas to cover up that broken down husk of a program.
I'll never forget the horror of the Jonestown Massacre, and of the cult leader who made it all happen. It bothers me to this day how supposedly free Americans abdicated their will to a power-hungry despot, and (many-- not all) who died at his whim.
It remains a cautionary tale for all of us about how absolute power corrupts absolutely.
And BTW, Jim Jones was chillingly portrayed in the TV movie by none other than our recently-departed Powers Boothe.
Just goes to show that critical thinking and self independence is absent in some people. I was overseas in the military when that happened. Recall it well........
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
I feel like Baylor has lost the privilege of having a football team - they need to be completely shut down for 5 years or however long it takes to get their act together and have a total culture change. I don't know how any students etc from that school can support the team at this time.
I find it hilarious that people actually care what channel OSU games are on, it's not like it went to some network nobody has. I do not watch the game for the commentary, or the pre-game, halftime, or post game bullshit. I just want to see the games. And for people who think ABC is some kind of "traditional home for OSU" sorry to break this to you, but it's not. I remember watching the OSU-Michigan game on CBS in the mid '80s, in fact the first time I even became aware of what station OSU games were on, they were mostly on CBS. At some point they moved over to ABC. When that happened, I cannot tell you, why it happened, probably money. Did people get all worked up over it? Of course not, they just started watching channel 6 instead of 10 on Saturday afternoons, now we will watch 28. BFD.
Regarding Delaney's comment about "didn't expect the backlash" over Friday night games. At first I though "well that's stupid" then I gave it more thought (probably too much thought actually) Jim Delaney is a very smart man, and it is quite possible this is a smoke screen. He knows what high school football means to the Midwest and I would be willing to bet that he told the FOX folks "that won't fly", they persisted probably sweetening the pot if he agreed, and he gave in, making sure he had some kind of "out clause" for when this was 100% certainly going to happen. So he used it as a bargaining chip to get as much $$$ out of FOX as he could, and then takes the fall for the inevitable backlash. He has a little bit of egg on his face, FOX relents, and still pays up. If so, it's a brilliant move by Jimmy D.
He has a little bit of egg on his face, FOX relents, and still pays up. If so, it's a brilliant move by Jimmy D.
Much like a winning Tom Herman game plan, there's a lot of good strategic thinking about Delaney going on in your post - love it.
I see this as a problem for the non-Midwest market, outside of The Game, on any other weekend (in SoCal) we could be stuck with local coverage. With ABC, we would always get it on espn or the duece.
As long as Buckdubbs007 can still post games on youtube, I'm fine.
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
If you want to read something that wont make you puke your breakfast (thanks for the heads up DJ) then I suggest going over the Mgo Blog and reading the Dallas Gant thread. Well worth the time for the laughs.
