As excited as I am to see how the '18 class ends up for us, I want to see the '17's play already...

Getting a bit impatient.

My choices were either irony or sarcasm for my comment above.

I chose sarcasm.

Oh, the irony.

I have a funny GGM story.  I have a friend who taught in various American schools in Latin America.  I can't remember where specifically it was, but she had the opportunity to attend a lecture/reading by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  After the presentation, he was available at a table to meet the audience and sign books.  My friend got in line and waited.  She finally made it, face to face with the world's greatest living author!  She told him how much she admired him and thanked him for the presentation.  She then handed him her notebook and pen.  He looks at her, sort of confused, and says in English, "I only sign books."  She panicked, scrounged through her bag and found an airplane trashy Danielle Steel novel.  It was the only book she had.  She handed it to him.  He looked at it for a second, then laughed ... and signed it.

So what's with Gill's cryptic tweet about always being able to come home?  Can't embed from phone, sorry.

The spring game needs to hurry up and get here. We have 9 EE's who I want to see take the field in the shoe.

I don't always downvote, but I do always downvote a Michigan fan trolling the Buckeye boards.

I wonder how different my life would be if I could be this precise in my level of non-commitment to everything.

But only 0.82% committed if you do math the same way as the latest Skull Session.

yeah, but 00.7% just isn't the same as .007%

Well, actually, that was Saturday's Skully that you decided to make a comment about the math, so it wasn't the latest Skull Session since we're being particular. And why are you judging a journalist's math skills, and so unable to let it go?

Eagles looks like he's got that "it" factor. Reminds me of Mike Thomas with the size and speed.

Also, its to bad Iverson wont join this class. He's an all around great athlete and would love to see him in the slot or H-Back role.

HS

Brennan Eagles is my favorite receiver in this class, he looks like he could end up being the best from the class.

Rivals rankings are always interesting - surprised to see Snead ranked so high this early, but there was a reason he was offered. My bet is he ends up higher ranked by the end of his recruitment. Be very interesting to see what happens with Gill's ranking coming back to play this year - I think he will rise quickly. Not sure where the ceiling is on Thomas - 94?

LSU commitments are pretty solid. 82% of the time, they stay committed every time.

HS

At LSU, an 82% is a perfect score.  So this all makes sense.

I would rather Clement over Thomas. Some get really excited about Thomas who calls us the University of Ohio State. NEXT. plus the prototype RB is smaller. Bama guy (Heisman) was bigger but look at Zeke and tell me bigger is always better. Gill, Snead, and Clement could be a special group of RB talent. Gill is our Ohio guy. Let's go win.

HS
buckslan's picture

Respectfully disagree. H-back seems to be taken care of in the future. Demario McCall is a sophomore, then there are guys like Parris Campbell and EGW that could play that role as well. If we land Jaelen Gill Wednesday, that's another potential piece for the H-back. However a true RB I think is a bigger need. We have Weber and Antonio Williams on the roster but Weber might not even be on the roster come next year. We have JK Dobbins as a freshman this year, and Brian Snead committed at the moment. That leaves only 3 (assuming Weber turns pro, Gill projects to H-back) true RB's on the roster come 2018. This offense in my opinion functions better when there is a power back, and Tavion Thomas brings that.  I don't think Iverson Clement can be that kind of back, and there are also questions about the future of H-back as long as Kevin Wilson is the OC. I think Clement is a victim of the numbers crunch.

HS
Moneymike's picture

iverson clement is the same size as dalvin cook when he was in high school and you see how he turned out.

HS
JPhalinNut's picture

Gill has a great frame for RB.  The kid has another year for adding weight, not to mention the possibility of enrolling early and getting with Mick.  I don't think we should be so quick to assume he is heading straight for the H-back position.  Of course none of this verbiage will matter if he doesn't choose tOSU.

"...there is still a significant separation.”

Buckslan, let's not get ahead of ourselves on EGW.  He has been a db the past 2 years.  Campbell hasn't taken a snap at H.  Furthermore there is no indication that he is going to get snaps there except for posters on this board and their own wishful thinking.

Plus Campbell is about to be a junior so he really doesn't have much eligibility left if McCall is taking the job and running.. so the position is not really deep. That being said, Gill is exactly what you want at the position.

I will pound and pound you until you quit

Agree about the U of Ohio State deal, but Zeke was 225 his last two years...not exactly small. I'm on the Thomas bandwagon, myself.

Class of 2018, 6-foot-4, 214-pound Eagles ... #7 wideout ... #44 overall....

as a junior:  55 catches, 1,069 yards, 13 TDs; team "to the state playoffs last fall"

Houston Regional's SPARQ ratings champion with 4.51 40, 3.95 shuttle, 37" VJ.

Invited to Nike's The Opening.

3.95 SHUTTLE for a man that size?  What's gonna 'happen' when he 'gets' ...'developed'... with 'more reps & experience'?

;-{)}  I suspicion we should 'motivate' this man and this class of recruits ...with some serious on-the-field EXCELLENCE this fall.

High time to demonstrate how to break out of the so narrative box we've so care-fully 'evolved' !

GO COACHES!
