Like Urban said, just a loss you move on from quickly but hope they use it for motivation purposes.

Disappointing end to a promising season, no doubt, but you can't win them all and they've won more than most.

Here's to a better ending in 2017. O-H!

It was certainly a disappointing loss, but try not to go off the deep end.

FWIW, Happy New Year to you and yours!

One one hand glad Urban and the players behaved like adults, on the other hand would not have minded if Urban and JT, after giving Clemson their well-deserved props, got a little mad and upset about what happened, showed a little emotion rather than being so clinical.

I think Urban showed plenty of anger in his comments. Saying "this will not happen again" and "we will not get used to this". I think everyone on the coaching staff knows that they will be held accountable for this loss and they will feel some repercussions. I have faith in Urban because 3 or so years ago we got beat by the same team and turned around and won a championship. I have faith in him now, I see the fire burning inside him. I believe this will never happen again under his watch.

I absolutely agree. There will be some changes to the offensive side of the ball obviously. I hope this loss does not hurt the incoming class. OSU is still at the top of the mountain and we will be much better next year. This young team started like a house on fire but the team seem to get worse as the season progressed. This seemed to be a coaching error. We need to look at young up and coming coaches that have a burning desire to achieve. I know I rambled but it is 3:47 AM and I can't sleep and I am pissed.

40-35 is a lot diff than 31-0 in a national semifinal. I don't care if it's the same opponent.......

Not one sane person on 11w thought the Bucks would make the playoffs with a young  depleted team in August. 2-4 losses were predicted for the regular season.  Urb's program is so deep it put us at the doorstep. That's friggin amazing.

A deeper o line and , sorry, would  love a new QB coach/ OC. Warriner back to line coach please.

Good point, before the season started I picked them to go 9 - 3.  After the OK game I did get a little excited, although an hour or so prior to the game today I posted that I thought Clemson would win.  Didn't think the bucks would go scoreless mind you LOL, but so it goes.

Urban said it will get better for next year, what were you doing the last damn 5 weeks? You get paid to damn much to get spanked like that, Urban could talk his way out of a wet paper bag. As far as I am concerned he should donate some of his pay to charity because his coaching performance sucked the last 2 years. You didn't have them ready to go, there were other people on here who could see it on the players face when they got off the plain that they were ready to go, and I question that, you people still think they were ready? After the NC game in 2014 I was ready to put you ahead of Saban, but you are so far behind him now you would have to win back to back NC's for me to put you above him.

OSU will never again get the benefit of the doubt from the CFP committee. We'll have to go undefeated going forward to make it into the playoffs after this dumpster fire of a showing.

Wrong.  They win he big ten with one loss or less and they are in.

HS

They will have to win the BIG 10 outright in INDY going forward, no question.

Agreed, but they don't need to go undefeated.

At least the close captioning during the post game presser was hilarious.

Beck inspires absolutely no confidence.  When Urban came in he had a plan and executed the plan.  Beck seems to be wishy washy.  It was almost like he blamed it on JT.  He actually said he was better as a coach than he was last year.  The people asking the questions to Beck did a really good job.

It is very telling when Urban said he thought they would be playing In the Natty.... They were looking ahead and did not focus on THIS game.

Seems the offensive play calling goes from one extreme to the other; JT running too much or passing too much.  Offensive play calling has been a cluster f for 2 years, unimaginative, and pathetic.

I hope they don't move quickly on from the loss, but dissect it over and over. It is the master film on everything that has been wrong the last two years. Maybe now it will be properly addressed instead of duct taped/super glued.

Yes, I will wear my buckeye sweatshirt proudly today as I always do. It is not that you get knocked down that matters, but how  you get back up.

While I agree the play calling left a lot to be desired I think the O-Line play this year has not been close to the O-Line play of the last few years.  I think it's coaching either way.

I just don't understand how a head coach doesbt realize  we passed the ball 21 out of 27 times. Sometimes I think he gets to emotional during the game and doesn't make adjustments. He is the 2nd best coach in the country but this game showed the gap. Saban goes to kiffin and tells him to run the ball

Beck needs to go.  I understand he does well at recruiting Texas.  Although I am not exactly sure how he has managed to be so good at it.  May need to flip things around and let Coombs cover Texas and have him stop concentrating so much on That State up North.  I think our pull up there is less than in the past.  That Cass Tech coach about peed his pants with excitement when DPJ picked TTUN.

Tim Beck's interview was the worst interview that I have ever watched on an Ohio State football coach. He was very unsure of himself and was all over the place. The interviewers asked some very good straight forward questions and I for one, did not like his answers. If you didn't watch the interview, take 4-5 minutes and do so. I didn't really have a negative (too much) opinion of him until I watched this interview. I don't like his demeanor.

He sounds like someone who did not know football was a thing until maybe 4 years ago, and hasn't learned much about it since then.

The coaching staff abandoned Mike Weber, and the run, pretty early on.  Not without reason (s), but they still did it.  At that point, Clemson clearly had the upper hand and it made their defensive planning much simpler.  For whatever reason, the moment was bigger than Weber.  Who knows why.

O-H

HS

The thing is they abandoned him before he fumbled. 1 rush for 5 yards. They did not let him get into a rythm.

Need to find some answers on offense, Beck is right, it's not been just one thing, it's been a mess of blown assignments across the entire offense. Into the offseason we go, happy new year warriors

I had the honor to be in University of Phoenix Stadium and saw it first hand.

Not the happiest moments for me and my Bro, but we still cheered them on until the confetti canons decorated the field.

Good team in Clemson that night.

Onto the offseason for these Buckeyes, with a very bitter taste in their mouths

UFM will do what great coaches with a clue will do, especially with this being his worst lost in his coaching career. I believe he will have an answer after his coaching staff meet and review what happened.

Pretty simple imo. The Bucks' o line is young with no backups.   Another year in Mick's dojo along with developing more o linemen will provide rotation and domination again. Every great offense starts upfront. I know, I know, not exactly an epiphany.
