"I don't think you necessarily have to get a trophy to be a winner." - Nick Saban 1/2/15.
But more seriously...
Thank you for being an incredible teacher. As one of many who reads you every day, I have learned a ton - how the business works, how not to overreact (taken to heart some of the time of course), how to read the tea leaves, and how to have perspective on what is a game played by hard working kids.
Bless you and best of luck to you. Godspeed.
Said it before, good luck in your career. Wherever it is you land, they are getting one hell of a guy. And from all of us, a great big THANK YOU.
Congrats on whatever you're moving on to, Birm. Your coverage here has been top-notched and you've earned whatever success is on the horizon.
Also, obligatory: "OSU's best recruits only spend three years there before moving on, and apparently so does its best recruiting reporter."
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
Birm, it's June 17, not April 1. Good try though.
Not to complain, but this was quite light on recruiting news..
Really hope they didn't pay him on his final day of employment.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Post of the year!!!
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
Annnnd I'm crying. On a Friday at that.. Sad doesn't begin to describe how I feel to see you go.
NYC stole my joke!
thats great, Birm, but what about the recruits?
Honestly, thanks for your tireless work, Birm. And for treating the recruits like people first, not just football players. Cheers!
This a major anti-boom.
Birm, thank you for everything and good luck with whatever is in your future. We truly appreciated every single ounce you contributed/devoted to 11 warriors.
Recruits flipping to other schools aren't considered anti-booms. This is THE anti-boom of my OSU world. We'll miss everything you do here Birm, thank you.
Yes, one man's boom is another man's anti-boom.
Thanks so much, Birm. Not just for all the great content, but for being an amazing ambassador to recruits and their familes for both 11w and The Ohio State University. Sad to see you go, but excited to see where you're going.
Edit: I keep thinking what could be better than recruiting analyst for 11w? BIRM RECRUITING ANALYST FOR MARS MISSIONS CONFIRMED.
I literally exclaimed "oh no!" out loud, about a sports writer for a website, whom i never met, moving on. I think thats a testiment to how good you are at your profession. Good luck and thanks!

I'd actually say it's really not. Forgive me for not being all sunshine and rainbows for it.
All I did was voice my disappointment in it. I maintained a massive amount of respect for Birm and the site. It's unfortunate that groupthink doesn't allow for the slightest bit of dissention amongst the ranks.
I do appreciate your concern though Fitz, so much so that you'd bring it up again in the 11w forums too. I didn't realize how much you cared about me.
I care about all members that bring value. I also dislike it when people pile on and downvote someone for having a different opinion. I get where you're coming from.
Just like when Alex left, Jason will provide.
Always enjoyed your hurry ups birm. Sad to see you go but extremely happy for you and whatever your new opportunity is.
Congratulations J. Birm on your next job opportunity, I hope you enjoy it as much as you have working at 11W and thank you for being a huge reason why I enjoy visiting this great website.
Fare thee well, Lord of Whispers. Your Hurry Up was my first comment on this site.
Good luck in your future endeavors!
This is definitely where I parked my car.

Big giant Boom to you, Birm.

Sincerest thanks for all your great work! Kindest luck forward!
Now we can finally give Birm all those down votes he's earned over the years. (Can't italicize on my phone.)
Birm, thanks for all the great articles and recruiting insight. I'm just a guy, but a guy that believes you are truly the best at what you do. Thanks again, and good luck to you!

Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put in over the years you've brought some great insight in to the recruiting world and the information regarding these recruits
Thanks for the last couple years that I have been a recruiting fan. Only Person I read daily....no matter the subject.
Good luck to you!
Sad day. But congrats and you'll always be one of us.
Thanks Birm. You have the gift of weaving fact, rumor, fanaticism and harsh reality into something that was always respectful and incredibly entertaining. You've taken my Ohio State fandom to a whole new level through your hard work. Looking forward to read whatever it is you write next!

Best of luck Birm. The community will miss you.
Purdon't give a damn for the whole state of M!ch*g@n
Well this wasn't exactly what I expected in tonight's Hurry Up. Best of luck to Birm in the future and looking forward to what's next.
You will be missed. I don't know what I am going to do now at 7:55ish every night during the week.
Well l am just selfishly sad. Birm is the tits when it comes to this
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Thank you Birm, for everything you contributed to this site. Your Hurry Up was what kept me coming back when I first started following 11W. Good luck to you on your next adventure.
11W has become the "cradle of college football writing" (copyright me, just now). It's always tough to see guys (and gals) move on but it's always great to remember how good they were when they were here.
Good Luck Birm! Always remember, we knew you when ...
There have been plenty of good writers come through 11W. Patrick Maks (now Sun Sentinal, although I happened upon a NY Times piece by him once) and Kyle Rowland (now Toledo Blade) come to mind. Birm will do well. We'll miss him, but he will do great.
I was not expecting this! Wow, thanks for everything. My personal favorite piece on 11W is the Hurry Up. I always have 7:45 and 5:45 remembered 5/6 days a week. I dont know how Im going to cope with this! Its been real.
Birm, thank you for all you have written. I wish you good luck and good health in your future endeavors.
So, no recruiting news in your last Hurry Up? Just kidding. Thanks, and best of luck in your new adventure. Cheers Birm.
Forgot, one more thing. Can you put in a good word to Warinner for your replacement? Thanks.
Good Luck with your future and the path ahead! - So, how about a quick note letting us in on the "silent" commits?
I really don't know what hurts worse..... a kick in the nads or reading this.
Best of luck to you good sir. It's been a pleasure having you cover recruiting coverage for this site!
I know a guy who can let you determine that. Meet Draymond.
Kitties aren't supposed to smell like cigarettes, they're supposed to smell like kitties.
I really hope this is a bad dream.
Thank you Birm for everything you have done for 11W and Buckeye fans across the world.
Stay golden Pony Boy
The world is yours
Longtime lurker but just wanted to say it's been a pleasure reading your work Birm. Good luck with your future endeavors!
Good luck with whatever endeavor you take on next. It must be something special to jump from the greatest thing on the interweb. Thank you for making me a smarter buckeye fan everyday!
Echoing the sentiments here, again many thanks for all you've done here.
Godspeed, JB - drop in and say hi when you can.

Thanks Birm and good luck.
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
Birm, you've always handled recruiting with integrity and class, and set the bar for professional conduct in the industry. The Hurry Up is the one thing I am guaranteed to read on 11W every day. I'm sure great things are ahead for you -- and deservedly so -- but your contributions here will be missed. All the best on what's next!
Oh No! Good Luck Mister. Enjoyed your work.
moob. mooB. moOB. mOOB. MOOB. :(
I dont always root for college athletics, but when i do (which is most of the time) I choose THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
Birm is wearing a Block M in the cover photo. He's going to Mgoblog!
Thanks for everything Birm...even if you did trick us all about Tate Martell.
Jim Harbaugh likes ISIS.
Best wishes, Birm. I've truly enjoyed reading the Hurry Up for the past year plus. My wife never understood why I was so excited for 7:45 p.m. on a daily basis, but many others here get it. It became a staple of my life, and the withdrawals aren't going to be easy!
Kinda killing my buzz from last night, but -- Best wishes for continued success.
Good luck Birm, I really enjoyed reading all of the content you posted. God speed!
“indomitable in victory, insufferable in defeat.”
The Hurry Up brought me to this site.
Your efforts are appreciated. Much success in your future endeavors. Sort of a reverse "Boom" but still taken in good terms.
Good bye and good luck to Birm, Lord of Whispers and bringer of booms.
Has anyone put in a crystal ball for where he will end up?
Birm, you were fantastic at what you did here, sometimes to the point where I wondered if the entire recruiting process, warts and all, left you conflicted with your success. Wherever life is taking you, I hope you continue to be a factor in the recruiting game, because you seem to be able to connect with the kids in the crazy process in ways that most can't. And if life is taking you elsewhere, I'm sure you'll be every bit as successful in whatever arena you enter. Best of luck.
If he stays in the recruiting game, he has what it takes to be a big national guy at 247, Rivals, or Scout IMO.
247 is smart money on where Birm is heading.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Lord I hope not...not with the hacks over on nuckbutts.
Birm, I will honestly say you are THE reason I am a member of the 11W community. Good luck to you in whatever it is you are moving on to.
If it doesn't involve tacos, he's really not leveraging his strengths.
Pantoni's staff or another recruiting staff
I'm going to Crystal Ball ESPN....
From one Toledo guy to another...best of luck and thank you. The recruiting of teenagers will never be my life...but you made it a pleasant diversion from my life. You balanced the various interest well and still entertained.
Justice delayed is justice denied....#FTP
So long, Jeremy Birmingham. You've put in a lot of hard work, its been appreciated, and sometimes taken for granted. I'm quite sure i'll be hearing more of your name in the future! :)
with love, ~ Nutabuckas ~
Jason demanded 2 years; you gave him 3. Very Hermanesque. Two marionaire gunz up.
as for me:

We really appreciate the hard work, Birm! Thanks for your time here. Even during my little hiatus, I'd make sure to look for the Hurry Up link on Facebook and see what's going on in our Buckeye World. Good luck in your future endeavors and you'll be missed!

Thank you for the years of outstanding service, writing and recruiting information for both the Ohio State fanbase and the Eleven Warriors community. You will be missed as the "Lord of Whispers" and "Bringer of Booms" everything you provided to the 11w and the recruiting community. Good luck Jeremy "Birm" Birmingham with the next episode in your life, much luck and god bless man.
The decision to leave this site – which I truly identify as "home" – has been the hardest-to-make professional decision of my life
Details about what’s next for me will be coming down the pike, and I hope you’ll find me and support me in the future as well.
So are you taking you talents to South Beach?
In all seriousness, thanks for everything! Good Luck sir!
Not only a kid from Toledo, but a kid from Toledo Start HS makes good. Congrats Jeremy!
Can I be the last person to be BIRM'D before you go?
But where is tonight's Hurry Up???
Seriously, though, you will be missed Birm. Best wishes and God Speed.
Thank you Birmingham for everything! Bitter sweet to see you go. Best of luck in your next endvour! Hit me up soon so I can buy you a beer or four!!!

I haven't commented in some time on this site but just had to login to thank you Birm for all of your hard work over the years that I have been reading this site. Your Hurry Up became a nightly event for me and you could tell that you were one of the good guys and handled recruiting the right way. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Truly wish you the best Birm. But as far as finding an adequate replacement, well, you're just plain wrong about that.
"It's always scotch-thirty on my island."
Thanks Birm. You have made Toledo proud. Fortunately I will remain to balance her out with shame. We should start a petition to get your name on a Tony Packo's bun on the wall.
Birm, wait, is Lindsey in the class or not?
All kidding aside, I hate to hear that you're leaving but hope that this next move gets you closer to your dreams, whatever they may be. I really appreciate everything you've done and I wish you well in all that you do.
Thanks for everything, Birm. You're a true professional and it has been a pleasure to read your work on a nightly basis. Best of luck with everything in your future. Don't be a stranger around these parts!
Thanks Birm. Truly been a pleasure reading your work. You will be missed.
Late Friday bad news dump...you shrewd bastards. ;)
Time and change...
Always appreciated putting the recruits wishes above "breaking" a story.
Best of luck and I'll certainly be following you in the next chapter of your career.
"Year for what?"
Wow.!!!!! Great work Birm. Best info and writing on the Internet. Working seven days a week with a lot of twelve hour days on second shift was tolerable because of 7:45. Congratulations on whatever it is I doin. O-H
Thanks for the quality work. Always classy and top notch. Good luck
SMH, your going out like this.
Well shit, didn't see this coming.
Good luck Birm. We all know you will be successful.
Damn Birm, always follow your articles here and stalk your twitter feed. Good luck on your future ventures, you're a hell of a hard worker.
The Hurry Up is the reason I joined Eleven Warriors. With that said, Jason is probably happy to see you go. ;)
This is the one article on Eleven Warriors that I never miss. Thank you for your recruiting insights. Best of luck on your next adventure.
I don't DV. Most people don't deserve it, and the ones who do probably enjoy it.
Thanks Birm for all that you did for us. Good luck to you!
Not much I can say to the guy who writes one of two pieces of media I consume without fail every single day with just as much intrigue as the first time I read it. Talent is one thing, being a terrific writer and a genuine trusted media rep to young men and families making incredibly difficult life decisions, that's a completely different level.
Thanks and godspeed.
Buckeye love in the Big Apple
But how will see..what..i uhh..we can't..i think I just threw up in my mouth a bit, say it ain't so!?!
Honestly, I have really enjoyed what you have done for all of us, you will be missed!! Best of luck in your future endeavors!!
On a brighter note, I will take over writing the Hurry up and there will be a major drop in content and quality.
Damn it feels good to be a Buckeye
You da man Birm. Good luck in your future endeavors!
I am here for the same reason you are.
I am a long time reader and long time supporter of 11W, I have spent countless hours and have shared endless moments (enjoyable, devasting) with the 11W community. I seldomly if never post comments, but today I have come out of hibernation to wish Birm goodluck on his future endeavors. You truly are one of the best in the business and you will be missed. Thank you for all the hard work, and time spent allowing us the fans to gain a greater insight into our beloved buckeyes.
I euthanize my beloved Golden Retriever yesterday and now this today. This week sucks!
Best wishes Birm.
honestly over rated if he didn't want to be apart of this site and university then good luck to him, can't wait to see who Urabn replaces him with
I haven't been here long but quickly came to appreciate the hurry up. It was always informative and honest, even if that meant taking a step back from the ledge of fandom. Best wishes Birm, we will all miss you
When I was 6 I was thinking about this rivalry. This one is seared on your soul, It's ingrained through every part of your body. -Urban Meyer
So this is what Cavs fans felt like when Lebron left...I promise I won't burn your jersey though. Seriously though you have made this site THE best damn site in the land. Respecting the kids and their families choosing schools every year to being so loyal to all your "fans" here on 11W, it doesn't get much better than you as a person and writer. Good luck to wherever you may roam and I think I can speak for everyone and say that we all hope you can peek back in here every once in a while and say hello for it would be an easy collection of helmet stickers ;D. Salute to you Birm!
One last thing - if at any time you find yourself missing the Ohio State homerism, gifs, jokes about farts and/or balls, or puns on recruits names...
We'll... be... right... here.
Man enough to admit I shed a few tears when you broke the news in the PL last night.
You are a quality Dude Birm, Thanks for all you have done for 11 Warriors
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
I knew this would be coming one day, but it's still a Draymond Green to the nuts.

Well sir - congrats on your next adventure and know that you will be sorely missed around these parts!!! Thank you for making this site the number one Buckeye site on the Internet!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
This just means you can unload all the dirt you have on silent commits and other pertinent juicy info, right??
Thank you Birm for all of your contributions to this community. Go Bucks.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
Birm, if we ever cross paths in Toledo, I'd gladly buy you a beer. Or, a pitcher of beer.

Birm is the GOAT of recruiting. Good luck in the future.
Good luck, Birm. We're gonna miss you. No one followed the recruiting game like you did.
Oh no. Say it aint so. Best of luck Birm. There's a hole in BuckeyeNation without The Hurry Up. :-(
I remember when Alex left and my severe disappointment thinking he was irreplaceable. While a frequent reader it's probably almost been that long since I've logged on and posted. Just want to say thank you for your great contributions and strict professionalism. You have given us amazing work and I believe a small piece of your heart. You didn't attempt to fill any shoes; you straight up slayed it the last few years. The bar has been set even higher. All I can say is thank you and good luck.
Wow. This is unexpected and a little sad. Thanks for everything Birm! You certainly made 11W feel more like a community than website. I'm glad that you made th best decision for the futur of your family and look forward to seeing where you pop up next. Also, make sure that you secure the IP rights to "Birm" before you turn out the lights!
Good luck on your future endeavors, and may they exceed even the joy you brought to use recruiting freaks and 11Wers!

3 years ago I never ever would have believed I'd want to read a daily article about recruiting high schoolers on twitter. Brim you did an amazing job, exceeded every expectation. Thanks for all the great content and opening our eyes to the excitement of recruiting!
Been a fan Birm as soon as I joined. Made a remark a while back for people here to enjoy you while you were here. It was pretty obvious you had more in front of you. Look forward to your future news.

This is the 11W Mafia, and you're like Tony Soprano, you can't just leave!
Thank you so much Birm. You are the best in the business. The Hurry Up is one of the things that makes being a Buckeye so great!
I wish the very best for you in the next step of the journey. You have no idea how much happiness your articles have brought me.
Birm = G.O.A.T
Thanks for all your work and dedication. We all appreciate it tremendously. Wishing you the best in whatever is next.
Reverse boom, gray box, draymond kick to the nuts....thanks for everything birm! Will someone be grabbing the hurry up torch?
Good Luck Birm!
Enjoying daily the back to back ttun beatdowns.
So who flipped Birm? The SEC bag men???
Sorry to see you go, Birm! There comes a time for everyone, and I wish you the very best.
Well that escalated quickly
I was one of those who was sad to lose Alex Gleitman from this site, and I intend no disrespect to him when I say that you took something great and made it even better, like moving from JT to Urban Meyer. Is there a Tom Herman out there somewhere waiting to come to 11W? We can only hope. In any case, best of luck to you Mr. Birmingham, and I hope that your next move doesn't take you too far from Ohio State recruiting, a job you clearly love and at which you excel, a rare and lucky combination in life. One last boom for you . . .
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Bye, Birm.
And like that...he's gone. Best wishes, Birm.
Logged in to post this gif ^^^^.
Nice choice RBurg,
Thank you , Birm.
Apologies, BedHead. Great minds and all....
Kinda bittersweet, I suppose.
To echo what has been said roughly a few hundred times, thank you Birm for all that you've done for the readers of 11W. Your approach to your job has been excellent, and it'll be tough for whoever follows in your path. I always appreciated how you handled recruiting news for high schoolers by giving them privacy and respect to make things public, even when (at least to us) it seemed as though you had a pulse on things months in advance. Best of luck and as always, go B(irm)uckeyes!
Best wishes Birm!!! Your future is bright and you will be missed!!!!
You're the man, Birm. Thanks for all of the great updates!!
As someone who knew you as a kid from Toledo, and who has enjoyed reading all your reports here... I wish you nothing but the best. Thanks for everything... Don't be a stranger!
Today we lost a " WARRIOR " good luck Birm..
If it wasn't for Birm I wouldn't have even joined the site. We all wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

Can't wait to see what is in store for you in the future, hope to see you stick around the comment sections Birm. Thank you truly for everything. seriously, I don't know you and you don't know me other than Birm and JK, but I've always looked forward to anything you've written. Good luck on the next step of your life.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Best of luck to you.
That'll be 5 dollars
Good luck to you Birm! The Hurry Up has always been my favorite part of 11W and you have made it a great. Stop back in from time to time to say hello. You will be missed...
Thank you so much for everything you've done, Birm. I look forward to the Hurry Up every night and I will surely miss it and miss you as well. I'm sure whatever it is you're doing in the future, you will be great at. Good luck.
Happy for you Birm. Good luck man
Good luck Lord of the Whispers for Buckeye recruiting. You and Alex were why I joined and stayed with this site for up to date recruiting news. You will be missed, just as Alex was.
You both leave shoes that will be tough to fill...
It is time!!!!!
Thank you for all you've done for us fellow 11-Dubers. You will surely be missed!
I honestly feel like this is equivalent to losing a good coach on our football team. Good luck on your next profession and thanks for all that you've done for the Buckeye faithful. You definitely will be missed by everyone on this site.
I feel like Draymond just kicked me in the balls.
Birm you have redefined the recruiting scene at 11w. You have most certainly left it better than you found it. Total class 100% all the time always. I'm am genuinely sad to see you go.
Stop by every once in a while.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

Bless up. Shalom, and may your future endeavours be exactly what you want in life...

I am in Chicago for my bachelor party and took time to read the Hurry-Up, as I always do. This headline made my heart sink. Birm, you have done such an amazing job. The selfish part of me is upset. The rational side of me wishes you the best of luck! You will be greatly missed and greatly remembered!
Perfect weather in the Chi today, enjoy despite the news here!
Sometimes in life ..you walk amongst giants and don't realize it until they are gone - thank you!!
As mentioned numerous times above, as well as in the PL article last night: Thanks, Birm. You have been the epitome of class and integrity when dealing with all things recruiting. Hasta luego, 'mano.
Damn, Birm. The Hurry Ups were what drew me to this site. I'll certainly miss your insight into the crazy world of recruiting. Good luck to you in your future endeavors, my man!
"Smokey, my friend, you are entering a world of pain."
Godspeed Birm. Thanks for all of the awesome insight.
What? No cake? No going away card for everyone to sign? You just mic drop and bounce? I'll be in the den drinking away the denial stage of mourning if anybody needs me. I'm hurt. You still need to update us on Brendan Ferns. I don't think we covered Ferns enough. WHAT ELSE ARE YOU HIDING! I'm sure I'm not the only one being a completely selfish prick hoping the next thing doesn't work out and you come crawling back to 11W.
Seriously though, you've been awesome. For some reason I knew this day was coming. Good luck to you.
Ignorance isn't bliss for the rest of us.
Thanks Birm!! Good Luck!

Shit! Now I will only visit 11W 47 times a day.
Thanks for making Buckeye football that much more enjoyable. You are great at what you do.
Mr. Birmingham - It is through your passion for Ohio State football, that my fandom excelled to new heights. I was an Ohio State fan on Saturdays only before I had the pleasure of being introduced to your journalism through this site. Your dedication to covering everything Ohio State football related, and to some degree other sports as well, that I had something to look forward to each and every day of the week. Thanks again Birm! To me you will always be a legend when it comes to Ohio State athletics.

Thanx for the nightly updates and best of luck in your future endeavors But who will be next man up to keep us informed of Buckeye Nation recruiting ?
So long, Birm Best of luck to you. I hope wherever you land you are making a boat load of money and still covering the Buckeyes...
Hurry up and Godspeed, Birm.
This community and this website is the model that others will continue to compare themselves against.
My comments are for entertainment purposes only. However, in no way should they be misconstrued as being entertaining.
i was upset when I heard Alex was leaving, but it pales in comparison to how I felt reading this news tonight. Thank you Birm for the past 3 1/2 years of amazing coverage, you will be truly missed. best of luck in your future endeavors
Congratulations on a new opportunity, Jeremy. You excel at your work. May God grant you continued favor in all you do. Thank you for keeping the perspective of the recruiting situation and honoring your commitments.
To paraphrase a well known quote "Miss a day of Birm's Hurry Up you miss a lot". Now we'll simply miss you.
A couple years ago a friend told me to check out 11W. Not normally one for blogs or the like I gave it a try. I quickly found myself checking in daily and suddenly realized I needed my daily dose of J.B.'s inside recruiting knowledge. Now 11W and your column are the first place I go to when online.
Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and your time with us. Much luck in your future endeavors.
So, I've lived in the background on 11w for years, but this seems like an appropriate time to sound off. Thanks Birm for all of the hard work and wish you nothing but the best in future endeavors. Your contribution will be greatly missed!
Now I shall go pout because not only is Birm leaving but vacation ends tomorrow.
Good luck in your future endeavors Jeremy. It was a pleasure reading your articles.
There are no goodbyes among Buckeye fans, Birm. You will always have a home here on Eleven Warriors. Many thanks again for your reporting tenacity on all things Ohio State recruiting, and for your integrity and professionalism.

I was in the bathroom reading on Memorial day when Tress left.
I sit in the same room and read this.
No more reading in the bathroom. Too sad.
Thanks for your wonderful contributions to this site. Will find you wherever you go to continue the support.
Best of luck!
Birm, thanks for all of the excellent recruiting updates! Best wishes for the next step! Is the name going to change to tenwarriors?

On my phone, so, begin italics:

It has been a privilege to get to "know" you via "The Hurry-Up" these last few years. Good luck and God bless! I look forward to hearing where you land!
Don't be a stranger. Maybe you could pop in every once in a while and give us some hints on some big-time recruits!
See ya around!

Now that Birm is gone, do we have room for Sam Bruce?
JB = EW. I enjoyed everything you wrote. Big Big shoes to fill. Not sure what would pull you away from your lifes work but it must be pretty big. Best of luck and look forward to reading your future pieces.
You're the best, Birm. Thanks and best of luck!
Did 11W ask Birm to greyshirt? Is this a result of over signing?
I have it on good authority that no, that is absolutely not the case. However, on the plus side, now there's room for Sam Bruce at 11W!
Dope new thread starting in 5...4...3...2.....
Thanks for all you have done Birm. The Hurry Up was and is my go to for recruiting news and really enjoyed the community interviews as well.
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.
Fields of Dreams
Sad news for Friday....Thank u Birm for ur hard work....good luck
Although I haven't been a reader for you entirety here at Eleven Warriors I can honestly say you are one of the reasons I decided to stay and sign up for an account after checking out the site. Sad to see you go, but wish you nothing but luck and the best in your future endeavors. Good luck Birm!
Because I couldn't go for three
Thank you Birm for your time, energy, passion, and numerous contributions to 11W. Like many here, I got spoiled waiting for your daily summary of all things related to Buckeye recruiting.
While happy for the opportunities that surely lie ahead for you, your moving on is certainly a loss for THE best Buckeye site in the land. Best wishes to you and yours. As always, Go Bucks!
Is this why he said we're gonna have a slow recruiting summer?
Sad to hear the news, Birm - but very happy for you. You're one of the true talents in the industry. The genuine article. Thanks for everything you have done for the readers - your interaction is so appreciated.
Looking forward to hearing about what's next...
OSU didn't execute and lost to horrible officiating. BOTH things can be true
Hmm, earlier I just glanced through and thought "the hurry up is early". Had no idea this is why.
Two decommitted in one week from a couple Ohio boys. SMH!
Good luck Birm and don't be a stranger.
I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!
Thanks Birm. I love you.
Damn the offseason!!
Birm, thanks for everything you've done. You worked diligently with class. I respect the way you handled your business and appreciate it. Sad to see you go, but excited for you and wish you luck.
As a along time 11W, I have to admit 'Croots were not my thing. But I did read many of your articles and I wish you the best of all of life and it's offers. Godspeed.
And, of course, Go Bucks1 ( and a go Cavs?)
Many thanks Birm! Happy Trails! Go Bucks!
I will miss him.
Time to step up, all you man. You got this.
I believe you can fly... I believe you can touch the sky... just think about it night and day... sorry, this whole thing has me in a bit if a mess, but you have my vote Ellis! Next man up!

you can't leave. all the plants will die.
One of my favorite lines from the movie.
wasn't sure anyone would know what that was from.
btw, we seem to have the same taste in movies, Mongo.
Birm was the first staffer to make contact with me when I was brought on, he helped me through my first interviews, showed me how to get through security at the Schott, and most importantly, bought me a late night slice of pizza on High Street. Quite simply, I would not be here without Birm. I'll certainly miss him, but he's going to rock it at his next ventures with NASA.
That would be the only acceptable next role, Birm leaving to cover NASA launches.
Birm gotta get an even bigger lens....
Hey Kevin. That's a pretty cool share and very nice of you. I love hearing that. What separates Birm from many others in his profession and why he's so beloved by his readers, is that he always came across as the real deal. An unprententious Everyman, even tho he knew shit that you didn't. He'd follow up on his craft by visiting the threads and occassionally answering a question or two; he'd throw out an UV to acknowledge the reader from time to time and he never displayed that he was "in the know" and you (reader) were just a knucklehead fan.
Above all, he respected(s) his sources. A few guys here on 11W do an excellent job of all of that, as well.
TL/DR; he respected people. Unsolicited advice from a sort of old guy: remember that pizza slice and the kindness that he showed you, Kevin, and be sure to do the same as you become the veteran guy - wherever. It doesn't take a whole bunch of effort to be decent, but it goes a long way. Thanks again for your share. So sorry if I sound like a dad or something as such. :/
Thank you Birm! God Bless and Good Luck!
There is no such thing as "friendly fire"..
Wow! I feel like I've been kicked in the nuts. I live in montana and this is the only thing that satisfies my need for info on my beloved Buckeyes. Well, this and anything Dj Byrne's writes. Good luck and may the force be with you Birm.
Yeah, ok whatever. So what's up with Tyjon or Emory Jones today, Birm?
Best wishes to the best in recruiting coverage, bar none. You'll be missed.
After a truly shitty day at work, I'm devastated to hear this news. It's like a gut punch. I looked forward to reading Birm's work every night. We're all selfish and want to keep you here, but we know bigger and better things are on the horizon for you. Proud of you and good luck in the future!!!
P.S. If DJ Byrnes ever leaves, I'll be a basket case. These two are the bookends to my days.
Birm - a great big "thank you" from north of the 49th parallel and may the future bring you only the best of things .... You're the man !!!
I never followed recruiting before you started working so tirelessly to bring us the news. Thanks for all of your hard work and contributions. You've definitely made your mark around here and I'll certainly miss reading your articles.
Having said that, congratulations! I'm sure you'll be a huge success, wherever it is that you're headed.
I haven't been here that long but I enjoyed your articles, input, and expertise on the Buckeyes. I am sorry to see you leave but happy to hear that doors have opened for you and wish you nothing but the best in your future. Go Bucks
Want to add my thanks and may you have good luck in in your future.
Good bye until the next time!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
Atleast this will open up a scholly for next years 11W class
Thank you for all of your quality work over the years. 11W will carry on but your talent will certainly be missed. Best of luck to you on your future endeavors!

Sad for us. Happy for you. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be forever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand............ Good luck Birm!!!
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, its a war room
Good luck to you Birm! You'll be missed!!
I'm a silver lining type of guy. At least we can upvote Birm when he visits and comments now!
This sucks though - I'm genuinely sad.
Best of luck to you - you're one of the best in the Biz.
You're the best, Birm. Thank you for all you've done.
I'll echo what the countless have said above, your top notch contributions will be missed.
Best of luck, and hopefully your new gig won't force you to be a stranger around here!
Thank you, Birm! You will be missed!

Thanks, Farewell and good luck break a leg.
If the new gig requires moving to another city, my advice is this: shorter commutes are better.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
Say it ain't so birm. You were the GOAT at what you did. Best of luck to your future endeavors but you will always be remembered for your contributions and by your loyal fans at elevenwarriors.
P.S. Can we get you to honoraryily dot the I? Much deserving on such a job well done
Birm, simply put, you are the reason I visit the 11W site so frequently. In my opinion, you are the best at what you do; You took reporting and opining on Buckeye recruiting to the next level. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors; success will follow you wherever you are headed to. (Selfishly, I hope it is somewhere where I still may be able to get news on all things Ohio State football recruiting.)
Thank you for your 3 1/2 years here at 11W. I'd venture I speak for all of this awesome 11W community - words can't express how much I (we) appreciate your hard work and contributions to this site, from on-the-scene reporting to the nightly Hurry Up. Long live the Lord of Whispers!
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
I guess I'm late to the announcement but, Birm I have to say you covered Ohio State recruiting better than any other site I've searched. I have thoroughly enjoyed your articles and will miss your expertise. Here is wishing you the best of luck in whatever you are headed to. If you find the time, occasionally send us a message updating us on your new position.
"The most important statistic, is the number of wins in a season".........Woody Hayes
So... Real thoughts here? What the hell am I going to do every night on the throne after dinner? Too much info? Whatever. After 2 years of not missing a single article you have written, I feel like we're close enough to speak honestly. All jokes aside... You, my friend, have actually added value to my Buckeye-obsessed world. For that, I thank you.
"Man I wish everyone stop saying I beat a kid in the hospital 91-35.... It was 98-35, had 91 with 1:26 left in the 4th"
- Cardale Jones
Birm, always loved reading the Hurry Up! Was a big part of what got me addicted to 11W. Thanks for all the hard work over the years. We will miss your contributions to 11W, but I'm sure you are leaving us in good hands. I'm sure you have the same standard at 11W. as our beloved Buckeyes. 11W won't have to rebuild...they will just reload. Again thanks for all the hard work, great updates and keeping it classy bro.
It's 2:30am and I'm just hearing about this? Now how am I supposed to get to sleep? Dammit Birm, this is more like a nightmare. Didn't we swear we'd be together forever? You may be named for a city in Alabama, but you're still the best, most consistent writer on Buckeye recruiting I've ever read. Ah, the great ones always leave us too soon...Happy Trails bro (pouring out my 40 in memorium). Go kick some ass in whatever you plan to do next!
Born a Badger, Raised a Buckeye
Feeling this one from halfway around the world. It's a sad day. You're the best Birm. I appreciate you and wish you nothing but the best!
This is heartbreaking news. Selfishly I don't want you to go because you're great at what you do. But obviously this is good news for you and your career. So congrats man, you deserve it. You will be missed.
Good Luck Birm!!!!. Remind me when my good friends decided to move back home, closer to family a few years ago. Bummed for myself, happy for him in knowing he did what he had to do.
Wow. I am both saddened and happy for your Birm. The work you put into the recruiting biz is undeniable. From a reader standpoint, it is easy to see how you have been able to move up the ranks. You respect one thing....the kids. And that is what recruiting should be about. It was never all about tOSU. You put kids on the map. Only you know how many scholarships you are responsible for, but I know you wont take the credit. You always give credit to the kids. Thank you for being one of the major reasons myself and other members come to this site on a daily basis. Good luck in your ventures, you will be missed!
300 ish comments buried and down the list... I still feel obligated to say thank you. Just thank you, Birm, for everything. It's been a true pleasure. Good luck. Buckeye fab for 40 some years. Never knew as much about them as I do today, thanks to 11W and your hard work.
Thank you Birm for your excellence you have displayed here at 11W, you will truly be missed. Best of luck.
now I must turn my back to you................
I don't always comment but thanks to you and all the staff at elevenwarriors.com we can have damn good information about our beloved buckeyes. Thank you for you time and service and congratulations on your future endeavor! !!! I know I'm being selfish when I say this but it's a sad day in elevenwarriors lore.
Birm even through I'd enjoy to see you eat your shoes, I don't want to see you as shoeless. Birm say it isn't so........ Thanks for the pure love of what you did for the recruits and for me and my morning coffee.
I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box but I'm one of the most colorful.
Ugh... I'm relatively new around here, but can honestly say that finding this site and reading Birm's work are what have made me get all geeked out over recruiting. I used to only pay attention in January to see how the class was shaping up down the stretch. Now for some reason I'm regularly tracking who i want to finish out the class.
That said, if we lose a recruit over this, you're dead to me Birm!
This just in... a picture of Birm's going away cake leaked onto the Interwebs:
Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.
Godspeed Mr. Birmingham...May you succeed in life through all your endeavors...
I have enjoyed your articles...
Thanks for everything Birm. Best of luck in your future endeavors. You will be missed more than you know.
Thank you Mr. Birmingham. Wishing you well in the future.
Success - it's what you do with what you've got. - Woody Hayes
What the hell are we supposed to do during the offseason Birm? You've took the recruiting scene to a different level & I pace uncontrollably everyday until the latest hurry up is posted!!
Seriously Birm, since discovering 11 Warriors the hurry up quickly became my favorite read, although I don't often post I was here everyday!!
Thank you for all your hard work & dedication...you will be greatly missed! I wish you the best in whatever you do & hope you find as much satisfaction in your new job as I'm sure you found at 11 Warriors!!
Birm, Godspeed on the latest turn on that narrow path in your journey. Now, hope to cross paths on occasion; then, in full.
Thank you Brim for your contributions over the years, you have done it well... now go make it happen and get yours.
"Vision without execution is just hallucination."
Birm, sending many thanks and all the best from Belgium. You will be missed!
Actually I blame myself, because coincidentally it was just a week or so that a thought popped in to my head wondering "how long will it be before some big money site comes to snatch Birm up with a fist full of money?". I don't know if that is the case or not, but if so, you deserve it. You're one the best. Good luck to you and thanks for all that you have contributed to 11W.
It's hot here in Michigan, I had to drive by the Big House today to an appointment, and now this.....sigh....
May your next adventure be ever so worthy of you.
Thanks for your contributions to this great site, you will be missed.
I've been visiting this site for about two and a half years and I've always enjoyed your style. Good luck to you sir and as always....GO BUCKS!!!!!
JB - Good Luck moving forward and stop by often
Wow sorely going to miss reading Birm's articles here. Definitely the #1 guy when it comes to Buckeye Nation recruiting information. Best to you in all you do and where you go in the future. But yea like someone else said this is the definition of an ANTI-BOOM.
Wow, gone for a couple of days and this happens... I'm sad, but happy for Birm. He's a Champion.
Dude, not cool. How can u leave during the greatest recruiting run in school history?? You better end up on Bucknuts!
I always felt good reading your posts, Birm, because I knew you came by the information the right way--by treating the young men and their families with class, integrity and respect. In this way, you embodied our love for the university with every interaction. Thank you and good luck!
Are we suppose to start the rumors about what Brim does next in this thread or start a new one?
Thanks Birm for everything. Best of luck on your new path.
Didn't realize you were from T-town, Birm.
Good luck to you, bro.
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
I was in France and just returned. Wondered why the The Hurry Ups were missing. Finally found this .... And the news sucks!
Good Luck to you, Birm. You will be missed.
Vaya Con Dios, Birm. So... just like Zeke and Joey, you're leaving for the big leagues after 3 short years. Just like them, we all want you to prove just how much you belong there. I have no doubt you will do 11W and all your 11W fans proud. Thanks for everything.
