It sounds like Hudson wants in. Glad he going to camp.
If not us, I do hope him and the other Ohio boys committed to Kentucky currently come back to the big ten
Nicholas l Ernst
This kids a huge sleeper. I live in Toledo and have seen him play several times. He dominated in the playoffs his freshman year. I figured he was a senior. This kids going nowhere but up. Typical underrated Ohio lineman that will develop into a stud in a college weight program.
Jurkovec or Jones will be committed to Ohio State by the end of the summer, good possibility or no?
Fairly good, yes.
It would be nice to get Jurkovec this summer then he could start recruiting for us. It's good to get the QB on board early to be the cornerstone of the class. Fingers crossed.
"The future is bright at Ohio State."
"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends"
Pretty scary to think Dwayne Haskins, Tate Martell, and Phil Jurkovec could be on the same team. With guys like Austin Mack, DPJ, Trevon Grimes, Tyjon Lindsey and Binjimon Victor as your receivers, and Cam Akers, JK Dobbins as your RB. And that beast Josh Myers blocking for you.
The future is bright at Ohio State. Reminds me of when we had Eddie George and company. That was a pretty loaded team with Cooper but we might have more depth overall than they did.
So Burrow should transfer now? You guys who continue to forget him are clueless.
because most people see Dwayne haskins as JT Barrett replacement not burrows
I'm all in on Burrow and think he will replace J.T. Maybe Haskins can redshirt and create another year of separation from him.
There is no reason for haskins to redshirt if he is the better option out of the 2
True. I think Burrow will start though over Haskins once JT moves on.
It may depend on whether JT leaves after this year or when his eligibility expires.
I understand in Myers offense the RB is more like a 2nd RB, and that is why JT is the starter, but let's be real, Burrow is a better 'passer' than JT like right now!....I agree those that underestimate Joey are being short sighted....he is a bigger, more athletic Joe Germaine...very accurate with the football...I also think he is a bit more built for running/punishment than Haskins, but Haskins may bulk up quite a bit after a year with Coach Mick....here's a prediction though...JT will be our THIRD best 'passer' on the roster this year...believe it.
You are talking straight nonsense
I kinda want a two QB system with Burrow and Haskins.. too soon?
Kitties aren't supposed to smell like cigarettes, they're supposed to smell like kitties.
I'm not really sure we need a QB in the 17 class. Between JT possibly coming back another year, Burrow with 3 years of eligibility, Haskins with 4, and possibly Jurkovec or Emory Jones in 18.....why do we need Martell or (sadly) Danny Clark in that class???
They hate us cuz they aint us!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
With Krenzel, McMullen, with Todd Boeckman and 5 star Zwick already signed, why go after a 3 star? Troy Smith, that's why....
"When you're part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they'd do the same for you." Yogi Berra
Fwiw, smith was a consensus 4* ATH.
Ahh yes, my fault, but the response still stands - You can never have enough QB's, Troy was recruited as an athlete, like Daron Lee, Torrance Gibson, and Jalin Mashall among many others. The rule is always hard and true, recruit at least one QB a year.
Ok, Danny Clark is already committed. Are we pulling his offer and taking Martell then? I just think in 17 the class is so small and we have so many elite athletes considering OSU, that we might not need a QB in the class, let alone 2.
You land Jurkovec by the end of the summer does that take the heat off Martell?
Wahoo! Wahoo! Rip, Zip, Bazoo! I Yell. I Yell. For O.S.U.
If we land Emory or Jurkovic, I wouldn't even pursue Martell. Clark is good enough
If Clark were good enough we wouldn't be pursuing other qb`s.
Let me explain what I mean. I feel like either 2018 QB would be better than any of the 2017 guys. Clark would be Collier like.
Collier will never play a meaningful down at OSU and that was before he got hurt. I'd prefer we go after the cream of the crop, there is no need to settle.
I agree. Neither 2018 recruit would decide to go elsewhere if Clark is our only QB commit in 2017. He would be a solid Back up and a better version of Guiton or Collier
From the impression I get, Collier works like a dog out there...He may not be as touted as the others, but I would be careful to label him as anything but a hard worker who may prove some people wrong
That's the point that's trying to be made. It's great to have that kinda QB as a backup or 3rd string guy - somebody who's going to work his ass off but may not have the tangible gifts that other QBs on the roster have.
However, Urban said it himself, the starting QB at Ohio State needs to be a Heisman contender. Is Danny Clark a Heisman contender? Over time, maybe. It's just that in a class limited by numbers we can't take a QB for depth and also take a QB for instant impact. Especially if in the following class we have interest from multiple, top dual-threat quarterbacks.
Take the WRs this year to lure the QBs here next year. I like Tate personally, but he will have a lot of waiting to do. Haskins and Burrow are gonna be here for another three years at least.
I say get the best you can get. There is no guarantee that Haskins or Jurkovec or Clark pan out.
I typically agree and I would take martell over Clark.. But I don't want 2 QBs in this small class
So you want Martell solo?
Prefer Robinson, Martell, Mond and then Clark in that order.. But only want one
imo you take martell if he wants in, at worst he is a great athlete that could play other positions. and would a great ambassador from a big time program in bishop Gorman.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
Martell isn't stepping onto the field at any other position besides quaterback. For any school.
Welcome back Birm.
We havnt had a boom for a while.. We're about due! Who wants to pull the trigger!?!?
Seems like it might be tough to land an elite out of state QB in 3 consecutive recruiting classes. If we land Jurcovic this summer, might be tough to sell someone like Martell or Mond to come be the second QB in the 2017 class with Haskins in 2016 (and very possibly redshirting this year), plus Clark in 2017 and Possibly the #1 guy in 2018. Its very likely that the first opportunity for a 2017 or 2018 recruit to start would be the 2021 season. Hope they are not reading this.
These kids that won't sign for 2 more years or so, just saw Ohio State win a Title with their 3rd QB. It's not a horrible sell to a QB recruit for Urban. "Hey come to Ohio State, I know you know I already have good QB's... but I might need 3 to bring it home"
That was over a year ago. What they just saw was Tim Beck turning a potential first round pick into a backup and 4th rounder.
That wasn't all on Beck. But it's hilarious that you think it was.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Get well soon Mrs.Naut 6-0 > 3-6.
Gotta get Tee Higgins up for a visit. Kid can play.....
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
He is one of my favorite WR in this class I just didn't think we had a real chance to gethim until today
I wouldn't get excited until we hear he will be visiting. It seems that all the top talent now automatically includes OSU in their top 10. Which of course is a great thing!
Fields of Dreams
I mean of course Ohio State is basically automatic top 10 in anybody they offer it just seem like now we got a starting point to make the hard push for him but we cant have every wideout o I wanna see how this plays out
basically we have always been in everyone's top ten since tressel took over. Urban Meyer just gives us a more legitimate shot then the vest did. imho
also why do people keep leaving kellon mond and emory jones out? kellen mond is just as good as tate martell and played with a worse surrounding cast and now about to QB one of if not the best team in the nation I dnt get why people talk like kellon is not in tate league and kellen has better potential tate is maxed out.
I'm curious about your undoubtedly extensive career of scouting high school and college football players to say Tate is maxed out. Mind letting us know which website (rivals, espn, scout) or college team you worked for?
And which is it? Mond has worse talent or Mond is about to QB the best team in the nation? Those are contradicting points.
First off mond just got to IMG second I didn't know ESPN rivals ex. We're experts because if they ACTUALLY knew what they were talking about every 5* would be a first round pick and there wouldnt be unknown 2 stars coming out of nowhere third why come at me for not jumping on the tate Martell band wagon but I dnt see you going up and down saying something to all the people talking about him like a God so they are experts now?

Oh so you're implying that no one is an expert in any given field? So there are zero experts in sports. Because no GM, coach, assistant, talent evaluator is 100% correct. Everyone has misses. Good to know.
If Sibley does commit elsewhere, I'd rather see him outside of the big ten.
Don't care where he go's as long as he doesn't go to Michigan but hope he sticks with Ohio State good kid.
Already an amazing haul for '17. Go Bucks))
Tee Higgins is from Oak Ridge, you say?
"Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity..." -John Muir
My heart's on fire....
Is Higgins the only one of the five with any eligibility?
63...that's pretty good
"...continues to be told by many that the Buckeyes have "too many" defensive backs..."
I just want to note how lucky we are to be fans at a time where the only negative recruiting that can be done against Ohio State is literally that our team is just too good, so good that theres too many talented players on the team. It's a great time to be a Buckeye!
