I love Clark but sign Tate up. I'll gladly take both.

Is Martell planning on being an early enrollee?

Bishop Gorman to Ohio State pipeline ?
STA/IMG pipline down in FL, Bishop Gorman out west, Cass Tech in tsun, and OH on lockdown!
"The Edge is where average stops and elite begins"
You didn't hear? Urban is instaling pipelines all over the country straight to Columbus.
Rumor was the XL pipeline was actually...
actually, I'm drawing a blank on finishing this thought.
New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
It was a front for the OSU pipeline! Now just get one to Long beach Poly and were set!
Obama vetoed the KeyStone Pipeline, Because Urban is using up the pipes building the Ohio State Pipeline to CA, FLA, TX, and where ever else Urban wants to.
"You win with people" - Woody Hayes
Mostly I'm just worried about a plumbing back-up at this point. So much talent-interest, so few places to move it.
You forgot the GA pipeline he's built up.
True and an important one as well. I was more so listing specific feeder schools and I'm not sure we have one of in GA (yet).
And IMG, and STA, and and and....! Awesome time to be a Buckeye!!!!
Fields of Dreams
I realize he may have his haters because they think he is cocky but if Tate Martell wants to suit up for the Scarlet and Gray I say roll out the red carpet for the kid.
Love the Wesson offer - package deal - NICE
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.

I guess I'm going to be the only one on here to say this but, Id rather just keep Clark and Clark only. This just doesn't sit right with me. Numbers already tight as they are no need for a second QB and its also just an all around bad look. Not liking this at all.
Clark doesnt have some right to be the only QB just because he said so first. If Martell wants in I say we take him.
How is it a bad look?
Maybe the coach who offered him was wearing socks with sandals.
I don't DV. Most people don't deserve it, and the ones who do probably enjoy it.
Funny that look is reserved for the crunchy PNWer's and old men in Florida.
I want to agree with you, Clark is very talented and he has been very involved, and one of the strongest commitments I remember. However, if Tate wants in you can't say no to a 5*.
This is one of the few situations in which I would FlyerBuckeye
Why do people think taking two QB's is so out of the ordinary or wrong? Happens all the time. Like last year for instance (Burrows and Gibson).
And didn't Collier and Barrett come in the same class? I could be wrong about that.
You're right (I think) 2013, both are redshirt juniors in 2016. I don't think we signed a QB for 2014 if the numbers add up, because I don't think we have any juniors or rSO QB's on the roster.
Collier was 2014.
I'm pretty sure Barrett was 2013 and collier was 2014, and Gibson was moved to wr because of the log jam
^ best post ever ^
And because Burrow is the better QB and Gibson is going to see the field at WR..
DV's for Bucky B's opinion are uwarranted and ridiculous. It doesn't violate the rules in any way and it's it's not so absurd or poorly stated to earn a DV. It's just an opinion. Jeez.
I wasn't one of the down voters but have to question why he believes it is a "Bad Look" for OSU. Maybe I missed a previous comment of Bucky B's explaining the "Why" in the bad look statement. I know I was not the only one asking the question. Clark was never promised he would be the only QB taken in his recruiting class. In addition, they are completely two different style QB's which would allow OSU to hedge it's bet so to speak depending on how the offensive system evolves. Yes the numbers are tight, recruiting class wise, but I can't see any Power 5 school ever not accepting a 5 * QB's commitment unless there were serious off the field concerns.
You can never have enough good QBs.....See 2014 National Title run. Martell is a rare talent with a direct line to one of the best slot recievers in the country. You have too at least check the kids temperture to see if he's truly interested.

Pulling Clark's offer would be a bad look. They're not doing that. Taking Martell is completely above board.
"You can never pay back, but you can always pay forward."
Martell is a fantastic twist, his game is very dynamic, although he might be more of CFB star than a future NFL star, given the biases of the league. Don't want to diminish Clark or his already significant contributions in any way. The competition, already fierce, would really heat up.
My only fear, and granted this would be first-tier-program problems, would be the coaches being torn between a running and a throwing QB...

I have to say, that's a cool frickin name.
Ignorance isn't bliss for the rest of us.
I've been on a Tate train since I first heard of him. He is the one; the perfect fit for Urban's offense. (as is J.T.)
He is Neo.
He's only the perfect fit if Urban limits how much he runs. Tate Martell can't run the ball 20 times like Cardale did during the title game. With his speed, I'd only run him 10 or less times a game.
I've been on a Tate train
You should try hopping on the tater train instead.
that's friggin awesome.....your ULTIMATE tater....

Can you elaborate Birm on why it's best for the program going forward to recruit another QB? It sounds like you know something there... Clark not as hard of a commit now? You think JT may very well leave early? I understand your numbers concern - is this just your strong opinion that gettin two QB's is ideal to cover our bases, and there's nothing else to read into?
I'll answer for Birm! After JT barrett, nobody has any game experience really. Burrows is a freshman, as will be Haskins, Collier is a junior who seems buried on the depth chart. JT very well could leave after the 2016, and if he does the QB depth chart is Burrows, Haskins, Collier, Clark, 2nd 2017 QB. If we assume JT fills out his senior year, then we could have 6 QB's on the depth chart in 2017, but after that year we lose 2, and so I imagine for 2018 we'll only take 1 QB, who knows.
Even if Barrett leaves, there is 0 reason for 2 qb's this year IMO.
Well - there could be 1 reason if UFM thinks Martell will make the team better -
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
There is no way Barrett leaves early for the nfl, unless he grows 6 inches and gets an arm transplant from Cardale. My guess is this what the coaching staff is telling Danny Clark to soften the blow of recruiting another qb.
Good replies everyone - the whole purpose of my question was that Birm's wording seemed very strong and purposeful. Just wondered if there was anything to it BESIDES his opinion on QB depth. Agreed that after JT, there's zero game experience. That's prolly all Birm meant, but it was so firmly worded that it seemed to make the "need" for this new five star visitor more urgent.
It might have had more to do with Birm's faith (or lack thereof) in some of the back-ups -
First time commenter, longtime lurker. First, thanks Birm, your the man!!! 2nd, congrats to Andre, but I don't understand what Thad matta is trying to do. He takes two pgs last year, and going after Johnson next year, but doesn't even look at the best one(IMHO) in Xavier simpson. Just wandered your thoughts. Thanks again!!!
Welcome aboard the Good Ship Lollipop! +1 for you.
Jaquan really isn't a point guard, of course.
Simpson, like AJ Harris, is 5'9" and how many of those point guards do you need?
Simpson is listed at 6'. The biggest difference to me is simpson is a dynamic scorer and contributor. I just think this has Trey Burke written all over it. To me simpson is more comparable to Johnson than Harris.
Operative word ther being "listed".
Things must be good when some of your fan base would rather pass on a 5 star qb. Myself, any kid that wants in and the staff wants in, I say Go Bucks!
as my good friend Kid Rock once said, "it ain't bragging if you back it up.
dont quote me on this, but I think he is also credited with saying, "my name is Kid Rock."

Does Stephen Collier stay as he sees himself sliding down the depth chart?
~Because we couldn't go for three~
Stephen is that special breed of human being capable of remaining happy and positive with the whole Ohio State experience and being o.k. with the idea he may never command the Bucks offense as a starter. Collier resides in the moment and is living large at Ohio State! He's not leaving.

Looking forward to the Dobbins visit. Can't wait for the post-visit hurry up on that one...
Hopefully we will have bits and pieces prior to the Hurry Up.
Dobby is something extra special. Excited as well.
A really random crystal ball just came in for Sibley to flip to Mich St by Dylan Freeman of MotSG
I honestly believe Clark will move to DE. His mechanics at QB still need ALOT of work.
Clark doesn't have the athleticism or size to play DE or TE at osu.
I really hope I am wrong but I do not see A. Wesson as anything more than another role player which we have a roster full of at this time. What I am sure he is not is a kick butt point guard/ team leader that this team desperately needs. I know he has not taken the offer yet but its a foregone conclusion that he will. I really hope Johnson is not reclassifying to 16 and we can use Loving's spot for him in 17. Here's to Thad righting this ship but......
I noticed some dude from mostag switched his Sibley crystal ball pick to Sparty. Anyone know anything about this?
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.
The dangerous edge of recruiting... And, for the one millionth time, how do we have the numbers for 2 QB's in this class. I know it will workout, but I'm starting to not see the numbers add up.
Trust in Urban.
