Best part of this is the total wins between Urban / ND. He took a year off and is only 1 win behind. Hopefully they win on the 1st and it will be tied.
70 to 61... I'm not great with math but It looks like Urbans edge is more than one?
***original post had 60* current wins for Urban & I didn't foot the table, classic mistake.
Some of these reporters sure sound pretty butthurt.
I guarantee if Brian Beetface Kelly took a job in the NFL next week, and Urban Meyer surprisingly announced he was coming to Notre Dame --- they'd be elated.
Kind of reminds me of the delusional Penn State fans. They used to say that if it weren't for the sanctions, Urban Meyer was coming to PSU, after the whole Sandusky scandal. And by the way, why were so many of them surprised by the sanctions --- did they think they'd get off scot-free. SMH. Urban was NEVER going to Penn State.

Urban Meyer would have played them in the natty if OSU wasn't suspended from bowl eligibilty.
VERY Doubtful. The SEC train was at full steam in 2012 and Alabama was the defending champs. No way we would have been put in over them.
100% chance an Undefeated OSU gets in over the 1 loss 2012 Bama team. We probably would have been #1 in the BCS at the end of the season.
I remember reading an article that explained how the BCS rankings would have gone in 2012, and it said that Ohio State would have been behind Alabama when they ran mock rankings.

A lot of media like to speculate things like that, but its never actually happened. There's never been a 1 loss team that jumped an undefeated Power 5 Conference Champ to play for a BCS title, and 2012 wouldn't have changed that. Those mocks are also based on the AP and Coaches Poll having OSU at 3, something that probably doesn't happen if there are no sanctions.
I agree with everything you're saying, but it's not ridiculous to think that the Bucks would have been 3rd. Their schedule was very, very weak and as has been pointed out, the Alabama (née SEC) felating were at their zenith.
So, I think that Notre Dame getting left out may have been the most likely scenario, with little to no chance Ohio State being ranked ahead of Alabama.
Ryklet, you're a whole lot of wrong here bud.
"...and when we win the game, we'll buy a keg of booze. And we'll drink to old Ohio till we wobble in our shoes."
well written old man!
Thank you sir. Niblick, are you going to the Fiesta Bowl?
Fuck Notre Dame.
We are 11-1 in 2015. What's up with the 11-2?
I was thinking the same thing LOL
You win with people
We need like 1000 of you...
One of the dangers with all the reporters and such in the world is when they start believing their own spin. I think sometimes there are valid points to make someone think one way or another but sometimes I think the ND crowd in particular can get lost in their own hype.
Was puzzeld by that as well..
all the years combine and melt into a dream.
I bet Tom Loy had Urban crystalballed to Notre Dame.
Not to be "that guy", but Urbs is 70-10 since 2009.
So you're saying that he is EVEN BETTER then this article says he is?
Thanks. My editor and typist (above) are fired.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
I do agree with one thing the reporter wrote. I also believe Urban Meyer not being at Notre Dame is, in fact, good. That means he can lead our Buckeyes to a curb-stomping of epic proportions here in a few days.
My sentiments exactly. I am very happy Meyer turned ND down.
When the Pope sent that chartered jet to Utah in 2005 and Urban rejected them flatly, without so much as a visit, that should have told them everything they needed to know then.
Well, that reporter and I have something in common because I'm glad Meyer isn't at notre dame either.
Breaking News: ND sportswriter is an idiot.
This just in: Idiot sportswriter named "most perfect match" for his audience.
“Don’t fear criticism. The stands are full of critics. They play no ball. They fight no fights. They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing. Down on the field are the doers, they make mistakes because they attempt many things.”
Whatever. Ok. You wouldn't want Meyer. Just like Penn State didn't. Or those fools at Mizzou didn't want Elliot.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
I'm the happy the ND reporter is happy that UM is a Buckeye and not a domer.
The Champs Bowl? The Pinstripe Bowl?
Yeah. They're definitely on the same level -

Coach Meyer just said what all other coaches say when asked that same question about taking another job at a different university. It wasn't a slight toward Notre Dame at all.
Domers are a great group of fans...
