What else matters this week besides beating the dog water out of TTUN and their win-guaranteeing coach? Not a God dang thing. Go Bucks!

I thought moving the ball once everyone is set is considered a false start....
Apparently, you can adjust it to get a grip but what Allen did was way more and should've been called.
The officiating was terrible, in general. It's not why OSU lost, but it doesn't help.
We got penalized for doing the same thing in our previous game.
I noticed Allen doing that all night... He usually accompanied the ball movement with a subtle head bob too. The ref's apparently assumed that Bosa is just bad at getting off the ball and didn't watch MSU's line for any false start behavior.
B1G refs are awesome!
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
Skip Bayless is a sensationalist because he sucks. He has to say outrageous things to get attention. Dipshits like him are why ESPN is losing viewers in droves. I'm disappointed in Joey Galloway. He's better than that. Benching Zeke for being honest is the most absurdly stupid thing I've heard in a long time. I think Marcus Hall is best suited to express how I feel about that shitty #take
I caught a glimpse of ESPN recently too. They said that UFM has "lost control of his team" similar to his days at Florida with the DUI, early in the year suspensions, Zeke's comments. C'MON MAN.
Proud graduate of THE Online State University.
Become a 12th Warrior today!
Zekes comments are being blown so far out of proportion its ridiculous. And its all the fact that they will only show the words read aloud by the host of the show. They won't play the actual audio. The actual audio clearly shows that he is coming from a place of sorrow that he wasn't given the chance to help the team. The comments are being taken out of context and made to sound like they were selfish "gimme the damn ball" type comments. Thats not who he is, and he has never been a selfish player. Selfish players don't block like he does, and sacrifice his body for someone else carrying the ball. The guy was balling his eyes out during the national anthem for fuck sake. He clearly loves this team and is very much about this season. The media coverage of this is as overblown and dishonest as the tatgate coverage was, just on a smaller scale.
Media taking words out of context and blowing them out of proportions!!?? How dare you, ESPiN!
Surely they wouldn't violate their journalistic integrity by taking things out of context just to sell headlines
Shandy is not beer
That's why, after a Buckeye loss, I go on a self imposed media blackout for at least 48 hours so I don't hear the garbage that comes from the talking morons on espn..
The only hard day was yesterday
I'm with you Okiebuck. I wish some people would do the same with 11w...
Same here on the blackout , mine just includes large amounts of alcohol
I watched a rant from Danny Kannell. He said the lockerrrom has become selfish. Not sure how he can infer that from a couple sound bites, and who the heck cares.
"The future is bright at Ohio State."
"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends"
The funny thing is that so many of these sports talking heads are so easy to figure out. Danny went to FSU, therefore regularly shows his bias based on that affiliation. Most of them do. It's actually rare to see a "journalist" or former player turned media mouth who's able to actually keep their school affiliation out of their commentary.
Sports reporting has very few actual journalists these days.
“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Classic...never gets old.
People calling for Zeke's suspension are just trying to get headlines.
As long as we stop the run and keep Bosa on sides, especially on 4th down plays(seriously jumping offside on 4-8?) defense will be fine.
Will the 2014 or the 2015 offense show up. If we start out with a 3 and out featuring QB runs I may throw my beer throw the flat screen. Here is a novel concept, throw the ball past the first down maker.
If you read the above, the center very well could have, and should have, been called for false start. He was moving the ball before the snap.
I'll take Urban over Skip to coach my team, thanks.
The flying double bird is applicable to a lot of things in life and sports
Agree on Zeke only owing his team and coaches an apology. All of this crap is on Beck. It's also quite disheartening that many have all but conceded this Saturday as a loss. They aren't that great and if we man the fuc* up, we can go beat their ass. I still don't get how JT can break about every seasonal passing record last year now we are afraid to throw the damn ball. This makes no sense at all to me. Beck strikes again.
Buckeye For Life
For whatever reason(s) the line suddenly forgot how to pass protect. JT was flushed out of the pocket almost instantly on the vast majority of his drop backs. It's hard to get the pass game going when the QB is running for his life as soon as he gets the damn ball.
What is their problem?!? Is it really that Darryl Baldwin was that much better than Chase?!? They really haven't been very good all year. Are their schemes that predictable, is it execution on the player's part? Idk...but something's up.
"We gotta go win this next game and make the State of Ohio proud!"-UFM
They were sending 7-8 players on each play. NO line can cover that for long. Quick passes like slants would have worked all night.
The line had its problems, for sure, but if you read Kyle's breakdown of the offense, and/or go back and watch the game again, JT had a lot of problems with not letting the ball fly early when he had guys open, and not making proper reads. As is usually the case with poor offense or defense, the answer is usually a combination of breakdowns. The execution was poor, the play calling did not do the players any favors, and MSU's defense did their part in shutting down a predictable offense.
For various reasons, JT did not have a very good game against MSU.
We ran the ball almost every 3rd down, play calling so conservative and we hardly threw the ball past the first down maker. How do you make first downs if passes are 3-5 yards shorts every time, no 15 yard throws except 1 to Jalin, never saw it again.
I was so happy when my 'most hated athlete' became head coach of my most hated 'anything on this planet'.
I am looking forward to beating that team and beating that coach. Fuck Michigan and Fuck Harbaugh. That is all.
Interesting signature line
Yeah I was at The Game in. 86 and I will be there on Saturday. Earle had a comfortable lead at halftime and then played not to lose in the second half. We see where that leads.
F harbaugh!!!!! his fucked-up face sits with Kolesar and Biakabatuka and Woodson and Howard on my Mount Rushmore of hate.
Go Bucks F m*chigan .
Mr. G - I was a graduating senior in fall 86 and was going to be in LA on New Years...just had to have the team join me. So I carry a grudge.
Wow - Mike Weber said that ? What else could he mean ?
It doesn't matter. Comments on twitter and Facebook like that, usually are posted to get attention. Never feed into it.
Weber is a drama queen. Just don't care about his day to day feelings.
Barney Fife lives, and he lives among us.
I don't know, I often think the same thing. If I only knew then what I know now. I'd of bought Apple and never sold it...
Teenagers love to pst vague stuff to Facebook/twitter for attention.
Let's get some payback for our Man Earle.
Pretty sure it is. Nice catch.
Also, classic Spielman with his jersey untucked.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
I hope Darron Lee roll out this week in massive elbow pads and a neck roll - the ultimate throwback uniform.
Pain of Discipline
Pain of Regret
Take Your Pick
Had front row end zone seats for this game! Spielman was a f@#$ing beast that day and crushed anything and everything that was wearing blue and corn colors. I'll never forget it because we stormed the field after the game and it was hilarious when the PA announcer came on and announced that the Ohio State fans and team needed to clear the field so the band could do their post game gig. Said announcer got about 8,000 or so one finger salutes! Awesome!
The best thing about Pastafarianism? It is not only acceptable, but advisable, to be heavily sauced
Wow, I never knew how much Player Jim Harbaugh looked like Zach Morris' socially awkward, non-sex havin' brother.
You mean he looked like screech's cousin
A.C. Slater approves this message.
Jack Tatum hates targeting penalties.
Which one is Screech?
The one with the goofy chin!
Usually I'm anxious for Saturday. Now I want all the time for this team to prepare, adjust, and execute. Beat TTUN.
Most anticipated OSU-TTUN game in quite some time.
Not really. I could come up with a dozen more anticipated.
"quite some time" meaning a couple (~5) of years.
Kinda lost some respect for ol' Bo - berating a 20 year old kicker like some 8th grader in gym class....
"Hell, Woody didn't recruit me; he recruited my mother!" -Jack Tatum
RESPECT for schemechler? That's a good one.
F him. F m*chigan.
Just say it man. FUCK! FUCK THEM!
Wow. Bo was really an asshat yelling at the kicker like that. F that guy.
Some of you young guys would be surprised at how many of the old coaches were, asshats or assholes as we would call therm.
Schembechler played for and coached for Woody Hayes. He was emotional just like Hayes.
FRANTZ: Just before the timeout was over, I looked over and saw Bo Schembechler about three-quarters of the way out on the field. He was screaming, "Frantz, you little s---, you're going to miss this kick!" He was going nuts, and his coaches were trying to hold him back. [...]
Today, that's a 15 yard penalty and we win.
“Don’t fear criticism. The stands are full of critics. They play no ball. They fight no fights. They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing. Down on the field are the doers, they make mistakes because they attempt many things.”
Not with the refs from last week.
Can you imagine the howls that would come from TTUN fans if Meyer was yelling at their kicker?? But I'm sure they would laugh off that Bo did it.
Unfortunately, we live in a completely different time. I really stress that unfortunately part. Nowadays we just raise sissies
"It's so easy to be average...to HELL WITH THAT" - Urban Meyer
Says the guy with the pic with the girlfriend in his avatar ...jk couldnt resist....football players are plenty tough still. It is a physical sport that tests mental toughness. I least that is what I see.
Meeh. I don't see a comparison lol. I just believe this society is the embodiment of entitlement and it makes me want to throw up. Haaaave ya been on social media lately?
Says the guy with the pic with the girlfriend in his avatar
Based on the resemblance, they might also be his sister.
I have the misfortune of working with several MSU and UM alums. Almost every one I talked to yesterday was outraged that Zeke was going unpunished, claiming "if it was a UM or MSU player, they would be benched for the next game." I think my co-workers are a bit delusional.
To bench a player for speaking his mind is ludicrous. Zeke should have kept his comments in-house but, as a 20 year old, I am not sure that I could have contained my emotions at that point either. Sure TTUN fans want to suspend Zeke, if I were them I would feel the same because Zeke is about to put 150 plus yards on them this Saturday!
Me too, a TTUN alum reports to me and sits outside my office. When I walked iinto work yesterday, he had this shit eating grin on his face like his whole weekend he looked forward to rubbing the loss in my face.. I told him "not once did I rub an OSU victory over you guys in your face over the last 5 years that we've worked together, and not once did I crack on you after we won the NC. I know it hurts and that's why I don't do it". He stopped grinning.
But really, everyone is happy when we lose. I suppose it's the same way I feel when Bama loses to Ole Miss.
You should fire his ass for insubordination. :)
I was going to suggest going Lumbergh on his ass and make him work Saturday & Sunday.
Then you can go to Ms. Aniston's apartment:
Sounds like they are scared of our own Zeke!
In Urban We Trust.
Did they point to any other examples where players have been benched for their comments?
Nope. I'm sure they would be singing a different tune if it was one of their guys in question.
God how I loathe that state up north.
Do I have to put something down here?
Sorry she dumped you for a Redhawk.
Harbaugh may have been the man back in 1986 but, let me tell you Kyle Kalis, you are not! You are about to go 0-4 and join Mike Hart and his record as a player.
Another thing, only the Frosh at TTUN have a chance to leave Saturday's game against the Buckeyes with a winning record. The rest of them will have to live with 3 losses in a row for the rest of their lives! Here is hoping it is 4 in a row.
Correct me if I am wrong but...wasn't Bruce fired before the game against TTUN in Ann Arbor and then, in his last regular season game as the Buckeye coach, upset them?
I agree with an earlier poster that moving the ball a second time should have resulted in a false start. Of course, that would require BIG Ten refs to be fairly competent and we all know that the refs in the BIG have been bad all year long for all teams in the conference. That being said, Joey Bosa has jumped off sides many times this season. This is really not something new. Joey is good enough to not have to jump to early to beat his man at the LOS.
The only apology that Zeke needs to make to anyone, other than his team mates, is the fact that he picked the wrong venue to air his disappointment. That is something to be said in the locker room only and only for the ears of his team mates and coaching staff.
No idea what young Mr. Weber meant by his tweet but, until he offers an explanation, I am not spending another moment on it.
It is time to put the past to rest and focus on this weekend. This Saturday tOSU is heading up to Ann Arbor to deal Harbaugh his first loss as a coach in The Game!
Remy did a great job further explaining the off-sides crap here ICYMI.
You are partially correct, AZ. The story from 1986 is correct except for the implication that Bruce was fired before the game. Bruce was fired just before the TTUN game in 1987 and then upset them in Ann Arbor. OSU was on a three game losing streak in 1987 going into Ann Arbor.
Let's Go Bucks
NewPhilaFan, I am partially correct? I think what you said and what I said could be considered plagiarism, LOL.
NewPhilaFan, I am partially correct? I think what you said and what I said could be considered plagiarism, LOL.
Actually, AZ, I thought the same thing as NewPhila. Your reference to Bruce getting fired after the game followed a paragraph that directly spoke with the 1986 game with Harbaugh. I too thought you were speaking to 1986.
NorCal, read my original post again. I said that Bruce got fired before the TTUN game and won the game that year against them. I never said Bruce got fired after the game, I said it was his last regular season game as coach, which it was. I think the mixup might be that you assumed that I was talking about 1986. I was not, I was talking about the year Coach Bruce got fired.
Actually, I was referring to DJ's original material where he implied a connection between 1986 and Bruce's firing.
The picture was from the 1987 game; players wearing the road whites and Bruce was wearing his "I don't give a shit if you fired me I am going out in my black suit!" suit. It was a sweet game, I was there as a guest of a couple of UofM grads. Spielman had (no kidding) I think 27 tackles that day. Carlos Snow took a halfback pass 67 yards at the start of the 2nd half, after I was telling my scum friends, "watch out for that Carlos Snow guy". That was the day of the Bruce headbands...
Then we hired Cooper. [sigh]

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Carr family as I just read little Chad passed away. As The Game approaches let us all have fun with the rivalry but let us not forget what is truly important in life. That goes for me as well as I have had my fair share of outbursts over football which in the grand scheme of things is quite trivial.
I did not know that. Feel so sorry for the Carr family and prayers go out to them.
"If you're not changing, you're falling behind."
Such a shame to hear that he passed. Would've been nice for him to see The Game one more time before he passed, especially being this close to it.
Thanks for the update on Chad Carr, Mittenst8Buck. Some things are far bigger than football and rivalries.

Just read that Lloyd Carr's grandson lost his battle w/ brain cancer - 5 years old.....sure does put stuff in to perspective!
RIP young man.....and may the best team win Saturday.
Don't mess with this team after a tough loss. My guess is they come out swinging...
Only if 5 scUM players surround a single Buckeye on the field and provoke.
Still can't figure out how players think it's a good idea to throw a punch straight into a face mask. At least do a karate chop to the throat.
You mean , "roadhouse"
I have a "ROADHOUSE" moment at least once a day
Also known as the last real Dontre Wilson sighting.
& Noah Spence, for that matter.
The JH guarantee was aided by him crying to the officials due to the crowd noise. Called penalties on the home team back then.
I still can't believe that crowd noise rule was ever a thing... But I'm sure Harbaugh will find plenty of other things to whine about, like when he went ballistic last week after Peppers tackled a guy while a pass was in the air and got called for pass interference.
Yes I remember that well.
Still the cry baby based on his performance Saturday at Happy Valley
I find it ironic that less than a week after DJ links a john Feinstein article about college sports media getting less access to players to avoid public miscues, the biggest piece of news is Ezekiel Elliot speaking his mind to reporters after a crushing loss. Maybe if people didn't overreact so much to what an amateur athlete says after coming down from an adrenaline rush and being filled with emotions, reporters would be able to interview more players and report more of what's going on in the locker room. This is why we can't have nice things.
College kid speaking out his mind?! Unheard of!
Exactly. Once the blood was in the water, the sharks came calling.
I'll admit, yesterday I was still a little depressed. But I woke up today over t a little more. All I want is ttun ass beating. Shut em up!
Joey Bosa on Ezekiel Eliiott: "I think he said what a lot of people were scared to say."
What? That last week was there last game in the 'Shoe before going pro? Grow a spine, Bosa!
You are hiding behind a computer monitor & an anonymous user name telling a 6'6 275 DE to grow a spine? That's rich!
The italics, bro.
740, Thanks. Though, you probably needed to actually say sarcasm. Just saying "italics" might not be enough.
You are hiding behind a computer monitor & an anonymous user name telling a BEAR to grow a spine? That's rich!
They're also pretty hard on you when you use "there" instead of "their."
President John Tyler (10th President, born in 1790) still has 2 living grandchildren. I think Tyler must have invented the FourLoko (whatever that is).
So no one thinks Zeke apologized to the coaches? Meyer said he apologized to him. Oh wait, it wasn't on Twitter so it didn't happen.
Nor was it on camera!
"No, and it's hilarious to me that the one man with a right to take umbrage — Urban Meyer, head coach — didn't (officially) discipline him. " I think it's hilarious that you'd think this..smh...GO BUCKS!!!
I pass that Rutherford B. Hayes monument every morning on my run. It's always seemed a little wrong that a BP now sits there instead of a cool piece of town history.
And that BP is always kinda high priced anyway. Who gets gas there?
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...
(Also, I'm not a dude)
Maybe traffic off of 23? I don't think I've ever bought gas there now that you mentioned it.
Probably the British
This will be my coping mechanism this week.
Go ahead, bench Zeke.
His 1st round spot is a lock, you're only saving him from injury by benching him.
I thought Fuboy was locked up in the 11W Stalag with MMan. Accountability is a funny thing, eh GeauxJudge?

If UFM says the Zeke issue is squashed, I think we should abide. Would like to see 11W stop regurgitating the mainstream media comments. This is a "homer" site by design; let the mainstream media beat this dead horse.
I wonder if some "journalist" is going to try and get crazy jimmy to guarantee a win this weekend
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
All I know (which is not much) is if I am Rueben (lmao) I am recording everything the national media is saying about how overhyped, overrated, and entitled this team is, and playing it on a loop at the WHAC while these guys practice. Not piling on to the ESPN hate bandwagon, but holy smokes, I am pissed just driving in to work.
Go Bucks, beat ttun!
GO IOWA (just in case!)
It's our coaching staffs fault obviously. #FireReuben
Go Nits sounds so weird haha
Maybe I'm grasping at straws, but Murphy's Law of Media Narratives just might bail out the Buckeyes from last Saturday's woeful performance. Obviously, this week's games will be decided on the field, but if things do break right for Buckeyes, it'll almost seem like the the microwaveable "hot takes" media narratives were begging to be disproved. In addition to the hot take you're alluding to (i.e., "this over-hyped team was always getting ready to implode, blah, blah"), other hot takes will get cooked up this week:
The other interesting "narrative" angle is that Murphy doesn't like it when a perfectly good tragedy/excuse goes to waste. So, Sparty got screwed against Nebraska, but now that cruel turn of events no longer matters. Well, Murphy might have something to say about that and, if he does, the "if only Sparty hand't gotten screwed in Lincoln" narrative will be put on steroids, especially in East Lansing. There's a chance that Murphy will decide that the cruel fate associated with that one bad call should not be allowed to simply fade into non-importance.
Deep analysis there with Murphy's Law.
I think the "writing on the wall" is set for the B1G.
I worry about provocation and retaliation getting the penalty. I'd urge the OSU players to respond to provocation by putting hands in the air and pointing at the provocateur. You're not going to accomplish anything by pushing/hitting back.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

I feel like he has been salty since day one. If this is about what we all think it is, do not let the door hit you in your *ichigan loving ass.
I really hope that everyone just boiled over fro* a co*pletely e*otional ga*e this past weekend. I would hate to see a tea* that has achieved so *uch with a bright future self-i*plode.
With that said...Go Bucks! Beat blue!
If they play a tough game and lose on some fufu, I can live with that.
This? This is what one loss, albeit one horrible and pathetic loss, does to the psyche of the author? OSU is the more talented team. The athletes at Urban Meyer's disposal are superior in quantity and quality, and by a decent margin, to those coached by Jim Harbaugh. A loss, no matter how close, is never acceptable. When it becomes acceptable to lose as long as you played your best and the game was furiously contested, well, you've officially become something less than Ohio State, imo.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
I think we've seen that the most talented team doesn't always win. All we heard ever since January was how much talent we have. While I still firmly believe we have the best head coach in the country, I think the coaching turnover, plus the JT/Cardale merry-go-round, plus a lack of leadership, made things difficult despite our talent.
But now there's only one thing we can do--BEAT _ICHIGAN!!
Today I learned that the term "45 year old field goal" applies not only to cougar hunting, but also to football.
The difference is, when you're cougar hunting, you probably won't have to deal with a grumpy old man (coach) screaming at you, from across the bar, "You little s---, you're going to strike out with that broad!"
I beg to differ
(No, I am not speaking on prior experiences)
That Weber comment is really disappointing. Did the kid expect to go 60-0 at Ohio State? Grow up.
"Let's beat the shit out of Michigan. Have a good night." - UFM
*wipes brow with a Rally's napkin that doubles as a handkerchief*
I'll admit it. I miss Rally's. Nothing anything close to it here in Tennessee. They'll try to convince you that Checker's is the same. It's not.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." - Abraham Lincoln
I thought it was the same thing? I've had Rally's in Ohio and Checkers in Bama.
The Checkers in Tuscaloosa is definitely not the same as Rally's. I rolled up looking for something comparable to a Rally-Q.... Nothing but soggy ass burgers and stale fries
Paralyze resistance with persistence
My memory must have faded on me. It's been 15 years since I've had Checkers in Tuscaloosa and about 7 since Rally's in Columbus.
To me, it's just not the same. Then again, I'm probably remembering it more fondly than it is... Kinda like when I watched 3 Ninjas again in high school.
We HAD 3 in Virginia Beach; 2 were trash walk up huts where numerous fights and shootings occurred and they are both closed. The other is still here.
I try not to let sports losses ruin my mood anymore (my lawyer, who is also one of my cats, calls it a Cleveland Browns coping mechanism to keep me out of prison) but if Ohio State lost like that fashion — including Jim Harbaugh taunting Sean Nuernberger with Sam Cassell's coconut testicle dance — just know I'm taking next week off.
This is the greatest imagery DJ has ever conjured. Obviously, the result would suck, but Jim Harbaugh running around with a crazy face and mimicking Cassell's coconut testicle dance is comical.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
"I'm thinkin' we maybe try a few passes this week. Whad'ya think Cardale?"
DJ, from one Buckeye brother to another, this one alive for the gut wrenching prediction and delivery, take my advice and let the hate flow through you. Respect the accomplishments, if you must, but all this I love Harbaugh stuff is only clouding your mind. It is what is allowing you to have self loathing takes such as this.
Only Weber knows what he meant, but the only way I'm worrying about the locker room is if Ohio State gets smoked by Michigan. If they play a tough game and lose on some fufu, I can live with that.
I also hate that I'm thinking like this.
Hatred toward scUM is absolute. There is no living with losing to them.
If we win, I think it would be great if the whole team and coaches did something cool to pay respects for Little Chad Carr and his family. Maybe have Perry lead the team to hand the game ball to someone from their family or something. Heart breaking thinking about it....and I know that would be a long shot for that to happen but would be nice and neat to see that they show life is more than the sport or the game and perspective and respect for life trumps this all.
“Why are you so sweaty?”...... “I was watching Cops.”
At the end of the day, even if we remove the FIRST UNDISPUTED PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP in 2014, we've still won a title more recently than those dipshits.
Mr. Byrnes, let me ask the real burning question; now that the "get dumped then" streak has ended, will we be getting a fresh line to start the next period of game day Skully's?
Dairy-fed intellect and pure, unhinged sass.
Players (especially amateurs) do not owe anything to the fans other than clean and hard performances. That's the pact. Anything else is just synthesized expectation laid at the feet of athletes by people who long ago confused sports with a battle between good and evil.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
DJ - Brewster beat me to it . . . but the quote from your Skully that he cited above was brilliant! Excellently played.
"who long ago confused sports with a battle between good and evil."
You mean they are NOT one and the same?
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
Hey, what's up with Joey Galloway ? Why is he so salty about the Zeke situation? Is he missing Saturdays with Beth Mowins?
Once again a great skully DJ! We all probably need a little perspective check once in a while. My came yesterday with the birth of my grandson. The pride I will have in helping him become the next generation of football fan in the family, and teaching him all of the great buckeye history and traditions. Here's to my grandson being on this earth to be a part of a _ichigan dumping!! GO BUCKS!
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!
Harbaugh has had a storied career in sports, really can't take that away from the guy, was a star college player, first round draft pick, had an excellent pro career, and has been a successful coach. Good. Now let the weeping start.
I never looked at the Zeke "interview" as anything but a core team leader expressing heartfelt frustration honestly and directly. The fact he was able to do so was a very positive reflection on the kind of culture Meyer has established where leadership is earned and once earned they are entrusted to act from their core beliefs - that doesn't mean it was an entirely appropriate thing but it did feel very honest. So not surprising at all that Meyer wouldn't punish Zeke, the whole idea of punishing him and casting what he did as in any way wrong felt very artificial and shallow to me. Like someone who didn't follow this team and the players and the coaches and the work they put in and the evident dedication and respect they had for each other. The clear desire from the tone of many of the questions and reporting shows that lots of people love the drama more than the game.
That doesn't mean that the play calling hasn't sucked ass most of the year. If anything Zeke woke Meyer up to his ultimate responsibility to own that problem and fix it now rather than wait until the season is over.
Wahoo! Wahoo! Rip, Zip, Bazoo! I Yell. I Yell. For O.S.U.
"people who long ago confused sports with a battle between good and evil".
Thank you DJ. I saw Doug Gottlieb rant like that about Zeke.
First and goal at the five and Arch is getting the ball.
