The TD was an amazing catch, and very underrated. I said to myself, "What a damn beast". It was the play after he got lit up. In DJ's skully, it said he lost that battle. He didn't. He held on to the ball. So, he won that battle. And went on to win the war.
As depleted as we are at the WR position, I am sure glad we have a constant (beyond Zeke). #CantGuardMike

Thomas does have great hands ... has he been working with Larry Johnson?
The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win. -- Woody Hayes
I really like when there can be articles about Thomas that don't mention his uncle.
R.I.P. AfroDuck and Harambe
The comparisons are there because he plays a similar style to his uncle.
Yes I agree . . BUT i lIke that Thomas has done so well for himself and has his own legacy. It always felt to me his was living in his uncles shadow though. Last year , broadcasters would say Keyshawn Nephew caught the ball in the endzone now its Michael Thomas breaks and destroyed the defender for a touchdown.
Are you sure? Yours was the first mention of his uncle -
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. - Will Rogers
I know. I read it twice, couldn't find him. It pleased me.
So Of Course I had to bring it up
Next observations I'm waiting for are a Barrett article without his OVI mentioned or a Tom Herman without Mensa membership , but I pick my battles.
Tom Herman is a member of Mensa?
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
Yep. I was beginning to wonder if it was possible to spell JT Barrett without the letters "OVI" -
Can't. Guard. Mike.
McShay's love for the Buckeyes this year is crazy. Guys like Thomas and Bosa are warranted, but even when I'm wearing my 4 inch thick prescription Buckeye goggles, I can't believe Cardale and Vannett are still so high on his board during an extremely underwhelming season for them both. With that said, I still hope the NFL scouts buy into the hype and we sweep the first round.
Just saw on the twitter that there alot of requests for scouts to be there this saturday. It's thomas' time to SHINE.
I don't know what you've been watching, but Vannett has been a beast, and any high praise concerning his draft position is absolutely warranted. Are you saying that because he hasn't caught very many passes? If so, there's a lot more to playing the TE position than catching passes.

A reception in every game of 2015 AND a TD in all but two games (failed to score against Hawaii and Maryland) and his numbers in 2015 look right on pace to eclipse his 2014 totals... he's just plain dependable and HUGE in the clutch!!
Here's a link to look @ the digits.
Just throw him the damn ball...
"Defiance in Silence"
Can't guard Mike.
McShay is right. Thomas is a definitive 1st rounder.

TUN likes to hold receivers and refs won't call it. Mike will need to use his hands to create separation. He is definitely what we need going forward.
In Urban We Trust.
That Lewis guy they claim is so good, would get called every single snap in the NFL for defensive holding and PI. 10 yards down the field every play he is holding jersey and arm wrapping.
We sure are going to miss those hands next year...
I really hope he stays!
What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!
Oh, man, I didn't wanna go there, being where we are right now, but what if our Juniors stayed? Zeke, Thomas, Bosa. Throw in Bell, and I think Lee will be old enough and eligible. I know they can't and won't all stay, but a man can dream.
Best receiver to wear a Buckeye uniform in almost two decades.
I'd say you're right. 2 decades would take you back to Glenn, then David Boston at 17, 18 years. The only one making any argument might be Holmes.
Agreed, best since Santonio for sure. Michael Jenkins will always have a soft spot in my heart too, but thinking about Glenn Galloway and Boston, they way they dominated games, makes me happy.
How long has that van been there?
Dunno about that. We've had some really good receivers over the past 20: Ginn, Gonzo, Hartline, Robiskie just to name a few.
Thomas is light years beyond all those guys.
Nice work Kyle
I can see the Buckeyes riding Ezekiel, Thomas and Braxton the next 5 games
Something tells me the Buckeyes have been sandbagging the whole year
I saw Ryan Day hang 62 on Michigan...His hair was perfect.
Go Buckeyes Beat Michigan
Mike Thomas is a beast blessed with great hands.
I would love to see HUGE games from M Thomas the next few weeks. Get him the ball !!
“Being average means you are as close to the bottom as you are to the top.” John Wooden
Been saying this since last year, Thomas needs to be targeted at least 10 times a game.
the biggest thing that stands out to me in all these videos is Farris being rag dolled into the back field.........smh
"Life is not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. THATS HOW WINNING IS DONE!!" - Rocky Ballboa
I saw him this summer working out in the Woody with Braxton and I couldn't stop watching how he high pointed balls with one hand and always pushed himself to do something after he caught it like a spin or stop start just to prepare for game situations. Guy looks like a freak. I hope some work with a speed specialist in the off season puts him in a position to impact right away next year. Not that he's slow...there is just a difference between speed and NFL speed
I say Mr. Thomas is this years version of hall of famer and Middletown Middie, Chris "all he does is catch touchdowns" Carter.
Great film study as usual, Kyle. At the risk of being repetitive, I've been saying that when defenses load the box against us, I believe our strategy should be to isolate Open Mike to one side - expoiting the man coverage he'd have to be facing. And keep going with it until the defense is forced to back the eighth man back out to provide help -
Already have a roster spot for him on my 2016 FF team(s).
Great article, Kyle.
One small correction. Baylor's star receiver is Corey Coleman, not Corey Clement.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
The thing I have always noticed about Thomas is how quickly he makes the catch and get turned towards the defender to make a move. This quick turn leaves space to beat the defender at the point of attack. Thomas wins a lots of those encounters.
I was gonna say when did Corey Clemet transfer haha
This could very well be the last time we see Thomas (not to mention 'Zeke and Bosa, etc) play at home as a Buckeye. I will definitely be enjoying this game just for that!

Thomas is a beast. He will continue his beastlyness Saturday.
I wish we throw to him more!
Thomas is one of my favorites. I love how mature he is and how he always takes care of his business. Class act!
"Only God can judge me." Jim Tressel #QuietTime
he will likely get thrown to 5-10 times next game
